Would have loved an outdoor courtyard or roof terrace so you could enjoy the surroundings more. Traffic was rather busy and could be noisy. We asked for a quiet room and were at the rear of the hotel. Building work next door started early but didn't spoil our stay.

Комфортный номер, хорошие завтраки, приветливый персонал. На проезжей части перед отелем, через дорогу лежит металлическая крышка люка, которая слишком громко гремит, когда по ней проезжают автомобили - от этого постоянный шум, который немного напрягает, когда ты находишься в номере с открытым окном.

The room was clean, spacious, shower was powerful and hot. Breakfast was brilliant with lots of hot and cold options to set you up for the day. A really excellent choice for a stay in Porto. Privacy when using the toilet in the room but that is just how the rooms are designed.

Colazione buona e variegata fino alla ,12 ma senza esagerare...meglio così. L'italiano non è parlato da nessuno se non da un solo ragazzo che ho visto solo una volta per questo è sempre meglio masticare un po' di inglese Una sola volta non ci hanno pulito la camera forse siamo rientrati troppo presto. Il secondo lettino aveva il materasso moscio e affossato.

• David (8/5): Great location - Great welcome, with a glass of Port and a pastry. Good choice for breakfast. Great central location, being just 2 mins walk to the river, bus and tram stops. We appreciated the kettle and supplies etc in the room, the mini fridge and bottled water each day. Most staff were very friendly and helpful and attentive to ensuring breakfast supplies were topped up. There was some road noise till late at night. More hooks in the room and bathroom needed to hang clothing, especially as there we few hangers or space to hang them if staying for a week like we were.
• HolidaySara (4/5): Very noisy and far from a 4-star experience - Important to know about this hotel: the rooms are either extremely noisy (it feels like sleeping on a sidewalk) or they face a tiny internal “courtyard” of about 5 square meters, where other rooms also overlook. You constantly hear cars, motorcycles, ambulances, police, taxis right below the hotel, and people shouting in the street — even normal conversations are clearly audible because the rooms are not soundproof and the hotel is located on the main street of the city. Do not book if you want to sleep well or enjoy a nice room. This is not a 4-star hotel, neither in terms of rooms nor services such as breakfast and common areas. If you think you’re getting a good deal for a 4-star hotel at a reasonable price, it’s not a bargain — it’s a problem, for the reasons mentioned above.

• Catherine (6/5): A nice hotel but not spectacular. - Location, very close to river . Breakfast nice but i didn't like the breakfast room. The bed was comfortable. The room was cold and we needed a heater. The floor was cold. Door to toilet was sticking.

• X1030KOrobino (6/5): A centrally located and pleasant hotel - The hotel was centrally located, the staff was pleasant and informative There was a nice selection of breakfast choices during the buffet service and food was refilled when when items were depleted However we were told that there was a bar on site. This consisted of some wine choices that were self served in the lobby. Not what we would consider as a bar with service Even though we booked one of the penthouse suites the bed was horrible. I’ve never slept on something harder and considered the sofa in the room preferable to the bed A topic that was mentioned in other reviews is the strong scent that permeates the lobby and our floor of the hotel. I would describe it as smelling like cloves. I didn’t mind it the first two days but after that it became extremely cloying All in all a clean and central location but we will look for other accommodations on our next Porto stay

The room was facing into an inner court, so no view at all but still we heard the road a lot and had to close the window at night. • LMccMck (8/5): Great hotel, perfect location! - This location of this hotel was perfect as a base for exploring the city. Five minutes for the Ribeira riverfront bars and restaurants, seven minutes to the Ponte Luis bridge, ten minutes from the cathedral, ten minutes from Sao Bento station. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, good nightlife and good transport with bus stops just outside. We also really liked the hotel itself. The room wasn’t huge, but still bigger than we’ve stayed in visiting any other European city. It was clean, comfortable and plenty space for just two of us. It has all the amenities you’d expect for a four star hotel, really comfortable bed, good shower and good air conditioning! Our window faced into an internal courtyard so not much of a view; but from where the hotel is situated I’m not sure many rooms will have a spectacular view unless on the upper floors. Breakfast was good, a good selection of hot and cold food, cereal, fruit etc, though there was a lack of eggs! We arrived earlier than check in, but were able to store luggage at the hotel while we explored a bit. Staff were all very helpful, helped with directions and restaurant recommendations etc. My only complaint was that we didn’t get breakfast on our departure day. We had an early flight, but was assured by reception staff the day before that something would be provided for us to take away. When we enquired at reception this morning the man at the desk knew nothing about it and nothing had been left. A bit disappointing considering it had been paid for, and also that we had a long journey ahead. Aside from this we loved this hotel and would have marked 5 stars otherwise. Will definitely stay here again if we return to Porto!

Camere piccolissime ma silenziose, quelle su affaccio strada leggermente più grandi ma rumorose. Qualità prezzo non vale. Non é assolutamente una struttura ricettiva a 4 stelle. Camere estremamente piccole, senza nemmeno un semplice gancio per appoggiare il telo da bagno bagnato e il comodino solo in un lato del letto, molto scomodo perché non sapevo dove appoggiare telecomandi e telefono in carica, ho dovuto metterlo a terra (poco igienico) . Colazione estremamente limitata, poca scelta. In camera il frigorifero minuscolo e non funzionante, e oltre all’acqua e qualche bustina di camomilla non c’era nemmeno una macchinetta per un caffè (da un 4 stelle me lo aspetto)
• Moriah (4/5): Terrible night’s sleep but a great location - Great location, nice clean rooms, friendly staff. Only one elevator makes getting up and down at busy times difficult. The rooms only had heat so you couldn’t use the AC and if you opened the windows to make it less stifling you couldn’t sleep because of the insane road noise due to metal plating in the road below. Genuinely sounds like gunshots going off every five minutes. I wasn’t able to get a good night’s rest the entire time I was here. Also the water went out for a day and the hotel offered zero help or resolution.

• pennygX9222DH (4/5): Real disappointment not 4 star - I wish I could give this hotel a good review but I can’t. Our room was not good. If you get 114 then change. It’s a really odd shaped room that is dark, dingy and noisy. It is the weirdest most inconvenient shape! Access to the toilet is via a sliding door next to the bedside table which you have to navigate round. The room is narrow and the tv is on the wall at the bottom of the bed. We both banged into it a number of times. It was hot in the room too and no air con at this time of year. The road outside is a major artery for the city and is so busy and noisy. Motorbikes revving up, particularly over the weekend and emergency vehicles regularly going by. The bed was hard, the pillows soft and limp. The lights mechanism was a mystery. Positives? The location and the lovely female staff that work there.

The Aircon only worked to heat the room, not cool it and it was too warm at night. Due to the noise we couldn't sleep with the windows open so I'd recommend booking a room which does not face the main road.

We had front facing room onto street and the noise level was really loud. Cars, motorbikes at all hours. Really big bang every time cars drove over huge shore. Asked to move rooms to back of hotel but only 1 was available and it was dark, stuffy and had a smell. So we had to stay in room with noise.

• Inna (8/5): - The room was spacious and comfortable. The mattress was nice, and we had two different pillows, which was great because everyone can choose what they like. On the first night, it was a bit cold for our child, but there was an extra blanket in the room, which was very helpful. The tea area was well organized: there was a kettle, tea, and enough cups and glasses. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good — maybe not very big, but everything you need was there and it was tasty. The location is excellent. All main attractions are nearby, although there are so many things to see in Porto that even a few days are not enough. Some small things could be improved: there was a slight smell in the room, probably because of the humidity near the ocean. But it was not too strong, and we understand this is common in this area; there were not enough hooks in the bathroom. It’s a small thing, but it would be more convenient. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. If we come back to Porto, we would choose this hotel again

• Tracy (10/5): Excellent location for a short stay in Porto - We had a wonderful short break in Porto and our stay at the hotel was excellent. The room was comfortable, the service was warm and attentive, and the location made it easy to explore the city. Everything was smooth from check‑in to check‑out, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended.

Within easy access to all sights and attractions and a great base to get around Porto. Downside for us was that our room was very small / narrow and dark (room 114). Also, for 2 mornings (of 4) we had no hot water due to electrical problems. We did mention this on check-out when asked if we had a good stay, but there was no hint of an apology (which would have been nice to at least acknowledge. Overall, good value and great location, but not all smooth running.

• fatandfrantic (8/5): Great location, great breakfast! - Stayed for 3 nights in March. Location was great to walk around the key areas of Porto and to get across the bridge to Gaia. Had a double room with en-suite loo and shower room. Mattress was quite hard but comfortable and we slept well. The room (110) was to the front and next to the lift which I thought may have caused us a noise problem but neither bothered us. Breakfast was self serve, plenty of choice - fresh fruit, pastries, breads, eggs, cakes, juices and four warm options - we had a good breakfast which saw us through most of the day. The staff were on the ball, friendly and helpful. The complimentary pastel de nata and glass of port was a nice touch. Only downside on the last morning someone decided to smoke in their room which set off the fire alarms and affected the hot water supply so it was cold showers all round.
