- Mary (2/5): - I’ve paid 243$ to stay at this hotel for 2 nights, when I arrived… let’s just say this is nothing compared to pictures they put on display on Expedia. When I tell you pictures are deceiving, THEY ARE DECIEVING. First of all let me tell you about the size of the room, in the picture it appeared to look spacious when I was there it was small in cluding the bed. The room looked like it hasn’t been cleaned and it was proven until I looked into the dresser and there was dust that was accumulated. The window has bunch of dead bugs and the hangers they provided look bent. The paint job looks horrendous and rushed. There is tape on the AC holding its dear life. The only decent part about this room was the bathroom but still looked like it hasn’t been cleaned. I also I need to add there’s no 24hr receptionist. I’m very disappointed and I would not recommend it.
- Vance (4/5): - Would have been a perfectly fine stay - it’s quiet, the few staff we encountered were polite - if not for the fact that our room absolutely reeked of cigarettes from the previous guest. The smell never went away, even with the window open and the fan on all night. We had a wedding to go to so we didn’t get in until after midnight and by then the staff was gone from the front desk. Even at the decent price we paid we were very disappointed. I would not stay here again.

The front desk person didn't speak french for me no issues however they should be at least bilingual. It would need renovations we see that little by little they are renovating. But overall not bad. - Gregory (6/5): - Hotel Cowansville located outside of village centre, so you'll definitely need a car to get there and to get around. Somewhat hassle-free stay. My biggest criticism is that the Front Desk is only staffed during morning and afternoon checkin and checkout times. During my stay, the TV remote batteries were LOW and needed to be changed in the evening. So no hotel staff, no TV and I had to unplug TV to turn it off.

- Steve (10/5): Nice quaint quiet country hotel - An older historic place but in really good condition. I was on the 3rd floor but there was no elevator. Only an issue on the first and last days hefting all the luggage upstairs. I showed up a bit late in the evening and a key card and receipt was waiting for me at reception but no person. I didn’t see any person there except for one time on the last day. The room was small and quaint. Nice bed and TV with a mini fridge. The bathroom was in great shape and everything worked well. Great water pressure and very hot water which was very nice after a long travel day.

The only comments I have is there is NO transparency when it comes to the $200 deposit required to bring a dog and the total was more than what Hotels.com provided as the “total due at hotel”. Other than that, we had a great stay.
- GREGORY (8/5): - The room with a king size bed was very clean and comfortable. The hotel is quite basic by today's standards, but it included a bar fridge, keurig coffee maker, and Roku TV. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

- Gavan (8/5): - Stayed at this motel recently. The rooms were fairly clean and average. The highlight was the host, who was really nice to talk to and made the stay more pleasant. A decent spot for a quick stay.
- Holly (2/5): - Had two rooms booked. Both rooms had mold on the ceiling in the bathrooms. The second bedroom smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke. Both bedrooms had either stains or cigarette burns into the linens. Upon entry the air freshener is very overpowering and strong. We came a couple of years ago to this property and I don’t remember it being this run down. We will not be staying again, nor would I recommend this property.

My only disappointment was when booking through Expedia, the website mentioned that the hotel was dog friendly and that there were no cost for service dogs which wasn’t the case and had to be pay an additional $30 per night which was very frustrating.

- Perry (2/5): - Horrible, waited 15 minutes at the front desk and finally a gentleman came to the front desk who didn’t speak any English or French. He contacted the owner and put me on speaker phone. No toilet paper, the place has seen its days. All vending machine’s are out of order, Very dirty and outdated. The front desk opens at 8am till 6 pm. For emergency good luck finding anyone at the front desk. $169.00 a night not worth it, but for $69.00 a big MAYBE. No room service at all, face cloths that are old and have holes in them, not even a spare toilet paper after I called the owner and complained about no toilet paper. Had to go to McDonalds across the street to use the bathroom. Chinese owned they don’t care, they only want to collect. She kept giving me excuses new staff and they are in training, there was no one there when I got there. Save your money and you can definitely find something better for that money. Never saw the owner, but the worst experience I had. Oh forgot to mention that on the first night someone was doing laundry in the middle of the night at 2:30 am. I was able to hear the washing machine! Very cheap

Our first expressions was the strong smell of cat urine. Rugs taped to the floor and tiles broke and off in the hall ways. No ice machine. Broken in the main lobby. Room was dated. Fridge didn’t work, with water on floor. Shower a coffin size. Unless you had a Netflix, Prime, etc. account, they’re no watching to tv. Two towels, no soap for washing your hands. It was not worth $100 let alone the $178 be paid to stay there. Awful!

The television doesn't have any local reception and only works with a firestick which in my room had german as the selected language. The hotel staff which take care of the rooms are very good. The front desk staff are non existent and impossible to find.

- Samantha (4/5): - I did not end up staying, because I did not feel safe at this property. On arrival, a sign on the front desk stated 'If you have a reservation, your keys will be here.' The arrow pointed to the key jacket sitting on the counter. The key jacked had my initial, and a room number, so I assumed it was my key. I tried it and the door wouldn't open. A maintenance man (I'm assuming) ignored me and walked away. Called the number for assistance, and was greeted with a voicemail that simply said, "Hi, I might get back to you within 2-3 hours." Almost 2 hours later, I got a call back, and while the gentleman was friendly enough, he didn't inspire much confidence, considering check in apparently consists of him leaving the keys on the counter with my name and room number on the registration card. You know, so anyone can walk in off the street and take a card. And heaven forbid they do, because the only person you can call, apparently won't get back to you for hours. The hotel has refused to refund me, but thankfully my credit card company understands how ridiculously unsafe the whole thing is, and is getting my refund processed as I write this. I won't be using Expedia anymore either, as they seem to have no problem endorsing this behaviour/property. It's a shame, as the locals said it used to be a great hotel. I sincerely hope they revise their policies, hire a front desk agent and/or add some coded lock boxes for the keys. Everyone deserves to feel safe when travelling.

Staff was non existent. To get fresh towels or toilet paper required a phone call and was not offered readily.

- Emilie (6/5): - Older hotel, definitely needing some modernization. The reception is hosted from a distance, they laid out keycards and instructions for registered guests - this felt strange. Quick over night stay my son and i didn't need a large room as we were checking out early - we were on the 3rd floor so relatively quiet. I will say there are NO rugs through the hotel and it makes it cleaner... But the room we were assigned was small, plugs were old and the bathroom had inverted plumbing (hot is cold and cold is hot)... Bed was not ideal, i was happy i brought my own pillows. There was a cat walking the halls who decided to miaow insistently at 3 am... I have submitted a complaint to the text line we were provided. You also do self check out - no one at reception There is definitely some room for improvement, but you can save 100-150$ a night if you are not too picky.

- Pierre (4/5): Bien ordinaire. - Personne à la réception au check in et ni au check out, la carte et la facture déposées sur le comptoir, si vous voulez communiquer avec quelqu'un il faut le faire par texto... , les toilettes de la salle de bain n'avaient pas été lavées (trace d'urine sur la planche)... Impossible de regarder la télé, elle est équipée d'un Fire Stick (streaming), on avait 5 secondes d'images, puis cela gelait pour 30 sec, ensuite 5 sec, etc... Mauvaise bande passante... De plus ils ont chargés 2x le prix de la chambre sur la carte de crédit, même s'ils se sont rendu compte de l'erreur et fait un remboursement par après, c'est vraiment bien ordinaire.

Finally owner came showed us room & how to work TV. Hotel video doorbell ringing on TV at all hours of the night?? No change of towels till I raised my concerns as did I about door bell. No way to contact owner so had to catch an employee on way to laundry, who called owner.

- Alicia (10/5): - My family and I booked this property as it was very close to the location we were travelling too. I was very happy with the fast friendly service. We were able to check into our room right away without any delay. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The location was close to all the amenities we needed. I would highly recommend this place.

- Gisela (6/5): - 1) no one at reception, you have to check in at the depanneur next door, girl had trouble finding my reservation. room not finished at time, claiming a previous smoker, had to wait another 30 min. for another room. This establishment is more of motel than hotel with big gasstation in front, but price like a big hotel. Pro: it looks like place will be renovated. Our room actually was quite good, and renovated, clean, good beds, and bath, coffeemaker, ac, and wifi. Place has potential with reno and a functioning desk service.

- Verified traveler (2/5): - The beds were good. The bathroom was very 👎 my kids didn't want to have their bath rusty bath. To reach the reception you have to go to the reception no phone in the rooms. No receptionist at the reception. You have to wait 5mins before someone comes to attend to you. Overall too expensive paid$200 a night no breakfast, no pool no amenities. I can go on and on. Am disappointed and my kids were.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This hotel is very well located for people who are traveling in the region. The facilities are older but my room was clean and very comfortable. It's under some renovations at pretty much all time but it getting improved slowly but surely. It's extremely quiet. The hotelay not be a "destination" on its own, but it provides a decent room (with very comfortable bed in my experience) at a good price for the area. It's also the only none bed and breakfast place in Cowansville, so if you love waking up in quiet and not having to engage with anyone, it's an option. I had read negative reviews prior to staying and I was pleasantly surprised.
