• 220shirazj (6/5): This place could be so much more... - This is a bright orange hotel building a few doors down from the mosque, so you can't miss it! The rooms are very spacious and had a good sized bathroom as well as a balcony looking out into the main road. It is less than a 10 minute walk down to Ao Nang beach, so a very good location. The 2 negative points about the hotel for me were the staff and noise fun the street. The main people who manned the counter were just not that friendly and was really hard to get any information out of. Also, I had a room that overlooked the main road, so had the constant road traffic and loud music at all hours. I came in peak season and the usual places were sold out.

Check in was a breeze and they allowed late checkout which was needed for us. Traveling with a cat and there are not many pet friendly so we appreciated that. Nice hot shower. Can easily walk down to beach and sight see

• jaynewcastle11 (8/5): My 2nd stay here - Had 3 nights in Jan 2015 here, and now on my 2nd visit to Ao nang, stayed here again, had 2 nights in Jan 2019, before heading out to the islands for 2 weeks. The hotel, rooms & staff are great. My 1st visit, I had a quiet room at the back, this time I had a room overlooking the main street. Much much noisier at the front, especially the motorbikes speeding up & down the road until very late at night. I wondered why the room was cheaper than my previous stay :) I would stay here again

• MansiS275 (10/5): nice economical budget place to stay in Aonang - Room is very clean and spacious. They provide basic breakfast comprising of Toast, conflakes, watermelon, & Tea/Coffee. They also provide complimentary beach mats and umbrella. only drawback is it is little far(1 km) from Aonang beach. So whenever you go out to beach or to shopping areas every time you have to walk for another 1 km in scorching heat to reach back.
• farawaynut (8/5): Sadly still noisy - This hotel is clean and comfortable. The staff are delightful, welcoming and helpful. Our room was large with a balcony overlooking the quieter back area, with good a/c and all amenities. However, the mosque is still three doors away with its superb sound system. An addition since our last stay is a neighbouring dog, which howls along to the dawn call from the mosque. The whole hotel is tiled so sounds are magnified and echo. Thus inconsiderate late arriving guests are clearly heard talking loudly, banging doors and stamping feet. What a shame. None of these things are the fault of the hotel.
• Nikita (8/5): Difficult to sleep - Really good hotel not far from beach. Good breakfasts without meat. The problem is that there is a mosque nearby and it will wake you up every 5am -_-
• andycoldham (10/5): Awesome - This is the fourth time I have stayed at this small family run hotel and quite frankly I would not stay anywhere else in Ao Nang. The location is perfect , the prices are very good and staff are superb. I really cannot praise this business enough. Location - At the top of the hill on the main road leading to the beach. Appearance - Like most Thai hotels, the appearance could benefit from a repaint job here and there but its certainly not a run down shabby hotel, and has recently added some new rooms. Service - Absolutely awesome, the staff really go out of their way to make sure guests have a great time, and I would like highlight Por, Mek and Thaiboon as great ambassadors for the hotel and the most helpful people I have ever met. All speak perfect English. The hotel will book trips for you, arrange transfers to the airport, sort out your laundry and it provides free books in many languages, they will loan you, beach mats, snorkels, flippers and umbrellas all for free. An iron and ironing board are available to sue in the reception area. Breakfast - This is an optional offer for 150 Bhat PP, probably the cheapest breakfast in Ao Nang, and for this you will get eggs bacon, sausage, beans, toast and tea/ coffee all made to order. Or guests are permitted to help themselves to a free cold breakfast of cereals, fruits, tea/coffee and toast which suited us just fine. Rooms- The rooms are huge, as is the bed, and it was very comfortable. All rooms have a good sized TV, free safe, free air con, free water, and tea/coffee and a kettle. The rooms all have a fridge and are kept spotlessly clean by our cleaner Bee. The TV did only have limited channels in English but then again we did not go on holiday to watch TV. Bathrooms - A good size with a hot and powerful shower over the bath tub. Shower gel and Shampoo are provided in dispensers, along with shower caps, cotton buds and a hairdryer. Beach- a 10 minute walk down the hill. Wifi - Good and strong throughout the hotel. No hotel is 100% perfect and its true of this one. If you walk 10 mins in the other direction away from the beach, you will come across a mosque which itself is photogenic particularly at night, however one may hear the call the to prayer at 5.30 am, and to be fair whilst it did wake me on the first morning, I slept through it after that for the rest of my 14 day stay so it was not that bad and only lasts for about 2 minutes, but if you are a light sleeper it may be an issue. The other minor issue is that the hotel does not have a lift and if you are on the top floor it can be tiring specially if you have a walking problem, so if necessary ask for a lower floor room. Would I stay here again, definitely yes, its the only place I would consider, it has the four key ingredients for me, Excellent service, great location, an excellent family run feel to the business and awesome value for money.

• Lindsay (8/5): Immaculate budget hotel, good location - We stayed only one night to stage ourselves for transportation the next day, but the room was immaculate, the view from the patio was great. The staff was very helpful. And the walk to the beach was short and easy. The breakfast was okay. We might be in Krabi again at the end of our trip and if we are we will certainly stay here.

Location - along the road, there are lots of 7E and family mart and this hotel is close to one 7E. - very nearby to mosque, which means lots of halal food options - on opposite side is the infamous halal bamboo restaurant - but very near to mosque also means a bit further from Aonang beach - as you walked closer to beach, more and more cafe, bar, pub , non halal restaurant - so decide what is your priority: halal food or beach 2. Hotel services - no deposit required. they do need to photocopy passport of all guests - we love that this hotel provides many table and seats for you to just hangout, sit and watch people walk by, without being in the heat of sun. - you can borrow beach mat, goggles, novels for FREE - rent a beach towel for 20 baht - free breakfast from 7.30am-10am : toast with strawberry jam, butter, coffee, orange juice, biscuit, cornflakes with milk 3. Facilities nearby - in front of this hotel is a money changer which we think is a bit expensive for MYR but western tourists seems to like this money changer - nearby is laundromat services 40 baht per kg. this is not the self service machine laundromat. 4. Room comfort - room is big - bed is big - there is a balcony but since the aircond fan is outside in the balcony, it became too hot to sit in the balcony ( but bonus points, you can dry clothes quickly) - our room was facing the main road Improvement points - no elevator. not suitable for elderly. our room was on the highest floor (4th floor) - on the first day, at night around 10pm, the water in washroom was super brownish, rusty. according to front desk, a problem with plumbing and they are trying to fix it. the next morning, it is getting better but still too evidently brownish. - Not much channels on tv - there is only 2 pillows (our budget hotel in krabi town provided us 4 pillows) A few things to share with other travellers 1. there is a stall in front of the hotel, selling nasi kawmok 60 baht and nasi lemak. The stall only operated on Monday- Thursday , from 7.30am till 11am I think. The nasi kawmok is delicious! highly recommended that you try this. 2. no toothbrush, so either bring it or buy at nearby 7E.

Room was the same as on the pictures, shower was hot and we had lovely balcony view to the forest (without noise from the street). They clean rooms everyday and also provide new towels. Few steps from 7 Eleven, small local market, restaurants and shops. However, the best thing about this hotel is staff! They are very helpful, careful and always smiling with great english. Thank you again for our amazing stay here, we will come back hopefully. PS: It is next to the mosque, so yes, you will hear it but it is not that noisy. Tip: they have LCD TVs, so bring your flash disk and you can watch your movies.

Clean, air conditioned room, hot water all day, breakfast, no great variety but good to start your day, wifi throughout the property, even hairdryer in the room)) 10 minutes from the beach. For dinner we liked restaurants nearby. We rent a motorbike through the hotel, with passport deposit, and also is very satisfied with the service. Thank you!

• Shahin (10/5): Perfect budget hotel with clean spacious room ! - Great comfortable stay thanks to the helpful staff and clean spacious bright rooms. we wanted to stay away from the expensive tourist hotels, overpriced restaurants & tourist information hustlers! Goodwill turned out to be perfect choice away from typical touristy area but within walking distance to everything. It's easy to rent a bike 200 baht and enjoy everything. Do visit the Krabi night market on weekends!

• dhruba_travel (4/5): Average budget hotel - Stayed for 6 nights on north side room; unfortunately without any view and lower floor room in spite of the earlier request to provide higher floor and room from 4 months before the stay... Pro: 1. Good location 2. Amidst the busy market and close to several restaurants, bars, 7-11, massage centers, hawkers market 3. Rooms are spacious 4. Did not face any big issues; 5. Regular room cleaning 6. within 1 km walking distance from Ao Nang beach Cons: 1. There were only 4 channels on the TV with worst picture quality; so we did not open it after the first try; in fact, you can treat it as a hotel without tv 2. Our rooms were on 2nd floor and on the north side. There was no view, in turn, it was just close to a path separated by a low wall; so we could not keep open the windows/curtains of the room anytime. 3. Surrounding of the balcony was not clean at all; unless forced for smoking, no one really would like to sit on balcony 4. Surprisingly there was no clock in the room 5. Surprisingly there was no tissue paper (napkin) in the room 6. No dining service 7. No lift

• tigerrr87 (10/5): great room - stayed for 2 nights. the room are super spacious. even batbroom are big too. room has balcony facing the street. walking distance to ao nang beach bout 10 minutes. you dont really feel the distance as lots of shops along the street. staff below are sweet and friendly. lots of varieties for food along the street. might wanna walk in between street to get cheaper restaurant. theres starbucks and mcdonald bout 5-7 minutes away before you reach the beach. you can get a van which cost 150 baht to airport instead of taxi which charge 500-600 baht. overall great choice of stay.

Location was ok - had to walk quite a distance to the main aonang area. Staff and service were ok but nothing much to comment as we didn't really need anything from them. • CuppyCakes1980 (2/5): No GOOD but BADWILL - 4-nights of nightmare! We are least fussy but Goodwill never reflect Thailand the land of the smiles. Staff was always lazing behind counter and unwelcoming! No elevator and nobody to help with luggage and we're placed on 4th floor! Overcharged us for the 4-Island tour we booked and when asked for our return (one particular person) kept avoiding us but eventually (the night before we checked out!) when firmly asked by my husband they returned the balance. Not a single English channel on TV, internet on 4th floor were Limited 24-7, that we had to use the Front Office connection. Nonetheless, hill view was awesome! Room was spacious, A/C and shower good. Aonang Beach is 10-15mins walk. For Muslims, Halal food everywhere, some pop-up stalls in front of the mosque after about 6pm. And the call of prayers from the mosque was not even loud. Many other hotels around this area. Skip this!

• putra9786 (8/5): Nice Clean Big Rooms - Nice 2 nights stay. Big room facing the cliff and the street. Nice beds water pressure high. Just beside mosque. Convenient for Muslims and morning breakfast is just steps away from lobby. They do provide local island tours.

• bangay (6/5): Nothing special - Hotel is about 15 mins to Aonang center by walking. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, but seem a bit old. Breakfast was not included, we paid 150 Baht for breakfast, it was OK. Staff was helpful. Check out time is 11 am. This was my second visit to this hotel, it was better 5-6 years ago, it's still OK, but Aonang has too many hotels, so I am sure it's possible to find better hotels with the same price.

• sarahgB5034WY (8/5): Clean, simple and great for our stay - We had pre-booked the hotel through Hotels.com and stayed one night. The hotel is small, with not too many rooms and people. The location was good for us since we did not want to live right in the center of Aonang, and we rented a scooter through the hotel so transportation was not a problem.The room was airy and clean, bed was large and firm. Bathroom was clean and had a bathtub. Water pressure was a bit low but we were located on the top floor. We did not use the balcony because it was too dusty from the adjacent road. That was not a problem since we stayed only one night before continuing to Koh Lanta, but maybe for people staying longer. Staff were very friendly and helpful with bookings.

• SAW KEONG (2/5): Not a very pleasant stay - It's not a pleasant stay in Goodwill Hotel. 1. The water heater in the bathroom is not functioning well. We've made a complaint, the staff came and did some setting, but it was malfunctioning again. 2. The remote controller for room aircon is not functioning well too. Instead of changing to a good one, the staff told us that we have to put the remote control very closed to the aircon in order to make it works. Meaning can't control the temperature while laying on the bed. 3. The floor in the bathroom is very slippery!! Other than these, the rest are OK.
• Selma (8/5): Nice and clean hotel - The room was wide, really nice and clean with separate bathroom and a balcony. Employes was nice however it was a bit difficult to discuss with them in English...
• fifi (6/5): Value for money - Room clean and huge and easy to find halal food..Location is near to mosque.. Sad things: there is no lift at hotel.and we need to walk to 4th floor everyday.. If u are beach lover,i suggest better rent a motocycle or need to walk within 15 minute to the beach.. The hotel a bit far from beach..
• Abdul Razid (2/5): Very Bad Service, Bad English,Cold Shower at Night - Hotel staff provide very bad service. Speak very bad English, and unable to fully understand English. Have to change two rooms in one night just to get hot water for shower, but still no hot water available for shower. Unfriendly staff. Only one staff standby at night, who can do nothing to resolve maintenance issue i.e. cold shower and clogged drainage in the bathroom.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Great for the price - Great for the price. Big room, big comfy bed, about 3-4 English tv channels. It's not the most beautiful place (very basic) but gets the job done for the price and the neighbourhood is great. Walls are PAPER THIN though which can be a bit annoying when there's a baby crying/family next door slamming doors at all hours of the night... Not the hotels fault though.
