• Emmanuel (10/5): A beautiful cottage in the heart of Franschhoek - A place which feels like home away from home. Really comfortable 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The fire place was great for the evenings and cold mornings. Jo and her husband were very nice and really helpful as well. The location is perfect, a quiet street yet right in the centre of the main strip. I also got to hike part in the Mont Rochelle natural park which I strongly recommend. Nothing, all perfect!

• DG (9/5): Sehr komfortabel mitten im Zentrum - Prima Lage, alles zu Fuß erreichbar, trotzdem sehr ruhig. Das Cottage liegt in zweiter Reihe, hinter dem Haus der Eigentümer. Es ist sehr komfortabel ausgestattet, voll eingerichtete Küche, sehr bequemes Bett, viel Platz, gutes WLAN. Die Eigentümer Jo und Bill sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit! Parken direkt vor dem Cottage ist etwas umständlich. Man kann aber sein Auto bedenkenlos auch auf der Straße parken, die Gegend ist sehr sicher.

• Peter (10/5): Lovely restful cottage feel, yet in the middle of Franschhoek. - We loved the outdoor seating area with BBQ for guests to use. The property is quiet and secluded but only just off the Main Street, so only a few minutes walk from restaurants. The hosts live in the adjacent property and are helpful, but leave you alone otherwise. There is private off street parking for several cars. The kitchen is well equipped. The upstairs bedroom does let in a lot of daylight (thin curtains). If you are a light sleeper, bring an eye mask.

• Dr.Ulrike (10/5): Totally recommendable - We stayed at the lovely Jonquil Guesthouse three nights and enjoyed it very much! Jo and Gary were very welcoming and provided us with lots of chopped wood for our stove (much needed as we were staying there in August!). The house is very cosy, charming, well-equipped, and situated in a magical and very well cared for garden. Franschhoek main street with lots of restaurants, shops, and - importantly! - the Wine Tram is within walking distance. We loved staying there and would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who plans to stay in Franschhoek!

• Kevin (10/5): Spacious and comfortable cottage - The cottage is lovely. Spacious and welcoming. The kitchen is well stocked for home cooking and the shops are very close by. It was winter and the cottage was cool, but there are very welcome electric blankets on the bed and lots of duvets and blankets. Hosts are lovely and stay on the property so nothing was difficult to arrange. They brought wood for the fireplace, a fruit basket and even some welcome chocolates. Lovely stay.
• Jennifer (10/5): Incredibly special 2 bedroom cottage stay in Franschhoek. - This is an incredibly special place to stay in one of the most perfect places in the world. The cottage was exactly as described - luxurious 2 bedroom 2 bathroom with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities (perfect for a long stay like ours). The cottage was huge! We had so much space inside so everyone could spread out and have quiet down time. The outdoor sitting space and braai/bbq was a lovely feature. The location is so central that we walked everywhere in town. Safe and secure off-street parking was a very nice feature. Jo is one of the best hosts I have ever met. I highly recommend staying here and plan on doing the same on all of my future visits. Nothing. Everything was excellent - a real 10/10 stay. The cottage, the location, the hosts - all just perfect!

Jo, the owner was really helpful and gave us dining tips which were excellent ! We are hoping to visit again next year for longer! There is nothing to dislike here!

The pretty leafy garden is ideal to sit out in warm weather, providing plenty of shade. The cottage is in an ideal position at a very close walking distance to the main street in Franschhoek. We felt perfectly safe walking out both during the day and in the evening to eat. Jo was very helpful and went to great trouble to ensure that we were comfortable during our stay. • Mary (9/5): Garden cottage in centre of Franschhoek - Lovely cottage fitted with every convenience needed for a self-catering stay. There is a beautiful garden and outdoor seating area, comfortable lounge and kitchen, 2x ensuite bedrooms (1x double, 1x twin upstairs), fast internet and off street parking. In a great location only a few minutes walk from the high street with its many restaurants and shops. Jo and Gary were friendly hosts and thoughtfully left fruit, chocolates, tea, coffee, water and firewood out for us. Light switches were confusing despite the labels. Lengthy explanation of do's and don'ts at check in a little unnecessary given they were all printed on a laminated piece of paper.

The beds are warm and snug. Beautiful little garden. Just off the Franschhoek main road so shops and restaurants are walkable. The little extras like the chocolates and fruit provided were appreciated. The only things missing were body wash in the bathrooms, and Netflix

• Suzette (10/5): Fabulous! - The facility was very comfortably furnished, and the kitchen had everything one could need (though we mostly dined out, it would be very comfortable for self-catering. The property is within walking distance of excellent restaurants and shops in Franschhoek and is safe and quiet. Parking is safe and secure, but it can be a bit difficult to manoeuvre if you do not like reversing (especially a rental vehicle).

• Michael (10/5): One week stay playing golf and chilling out - Lovely location within very short walking distance of the centre of Franschhoek. Well appointed Cottage with all amenities and back up power available during loadshedding. Very spacious and a nice verandah outside. Jo was extremely friendly and looked after us very well.
• Ricki (8/5): Comfortable cottage, lovely yard, friendly hosts and great location. - The location was perfect, just around the corner from the main town. The cottage was very nice, the sitting room was very comfortable, as was the bedroom. There was more room than we needed, so we stayed in the downstairs area. The yard was lovely, and very private, even though the hosts lived right next door. Franscchoek has some of the best food we've ever eaten, with very reasonable prices and great service. Do not miss Yama, Reubens, and the French Connection. We also visited the Huguenot Museum, which was quite interesting and wandered through the outdoor market - and, of course, purchased some of the hand-crafted items! There are many good wineries in the area - take the tram, but don't go on Sunday because many of them are closed and your choices will be limited. We had changed the dates of our stay, which was confirmed by Booking.com as well as the hosts. However, when we arrived the hosts still had us listed for the prior dates and so the house was not ready for us. They did jump right in and remade the bed with clean linens, and new towels for the bathroom and kitchen. They felt very bad about what happened so brought us a bottle of wine and some food to hold us over until morning. The cleaning person came the next morning and we were set! They were both very kind and apologetic. The only complaint about the cottage was that it was cold inside, except for the bedroom which had a heater.

It has everything you need, including some support for dealing with the load shedding (wifi remains active, and there are some battery powered lights when needed). It's a beautiful place to walk home to after a nice day out in the vineyards.

Homely, comfortable, open fire with wood and own generator for load shedding. To the uninitiated there are frequent scheduled electricity outages in SA. Cleverly the generator drove TV, Internet and other important facilities. Jo and Gary were friendly and helpful. I was raining so could not enjoy beautiful garden

The cottage is superbly equipped and the host, Jo, was welcoming, helpful and informative. I have no hesitation in recommending Jonquil Cottage and look forward to a return visit. In short, it was great!
