Guest Reviews
- Frances (8/5): - Staff was very friendly, helpful with making suggestions and giving directions. Hotel is ideally situated and attractive. Must be able to walk stairs!
- Ely (10/5): - Nice hotel in the middle of Brussels - short walks to almost all attractions and to the metro. Staff was very helpful. Many shops and restaurant close by. Our room was facing the plaza, so it was quite noisy until late at night. Note that all rooms require climbing at least one flight of stairs, but the staff helped us with our luggage.
- Carl (10/5): - Very clean. Very central location. Could walk anywhere in just a few minutes.
- Mahisha (10/5): - Enjoyed our short stay in Brussels at Hotel Agora. It was clean and a great size room for just two nights. There are lifts to get to your designated floor and a great location if you want to be central and short walk to the train station. Would recommend this hotel.
- Susan (8/5): - Very good central location. Great staff. Shame about the stairs.
- Patricia (10/5): - I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the train station. I was arriving late and I was worried despite the fact the hotel is accross the street from the station plaza. My worry was unnecessary since the plaza was alive, full of young people. Breakfast was good and plentiful, and one of the servers, Carolina, was very attentive and sweet. I did not care much for the shower dispensing liquid: one bottle that is both shampoo and body wash.
- Brian (6/5): - This property has a concerning problem with access. There is no lift and the access to the second and third floors is via an incredibly steep and narrow spiral staircase. We were on the third floor and are over 70. We would never have stayed at this hotel if we were made away of the issues with the staircase
- Rafael (8/5): - very nice stay
- Whitney (8/5): - Interesting little place. There is a set of stairs that you must go up in order to get to the lift…at least 20 stairs. Wouldn’t recommend if hauling luggage up/down stairs is difficult for you.
- Ada (10/5): - Small but great location, tiny bathroom.
Overall great stay
- Zoe (10/5): - Close to everything, lovely street and area for food cute room
- Jesse R (10/5): Best place to stay in Central Brussels - Amazing location; reception very welcoming, courteous, polite; offered suggestions for eating and favorable tourist spots.
- Hasan (8/5): - Hotel is in a great location, right at heart of Brussels, there is public parking close by, EUR 28 per night. The receptionist is very good. Couple of things: we got 2 rooms and it was on 4th floor, the spiral steps 3rd-4th floors (no elevator) are very steep and challenging to handle luggage but the receptionist offered to help. 4th floor is top floor and it was very hot, fan did some help but not enough, they should serious consider to provide some cooling on top floor.
- Vicki (10/5): - Great central location. Lovely friendly staff. A very comfortable stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Ok for the money. - The location of the hotel is great, being central to the city makes accessing local areas and the metro system great. However it comes with all the noise and constant distraction through the night.
The hotel rooms were acceptable, however both of the rooms we rented had reduced headroom in the main room and bathroom as well as the mezzanine.
Bottled water and fans were complimentary but very dusty as was the room in general. Also, with no fridge it was impossible to keep anything cool.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good value - The location for this hotel was fantastic. Very close to the Brussels central train station and the hub of the city. The room was comfortable, although we had had to take our luggage up many stairs with limited elevator access. Good value.
- Chantz (10/5): - We had a great experience, I could see this hotel being an issue for an older couple or someone who struggles with flights of stairs. My partner and I did not have an issue and enjoyed our stay. They provided fans in the room which made the sleep much more enjoyable. Avoid this hotel if you physically unable to deal with multiple flights of steep stairs to get to and from your room.
- Brigida (10/5): - I was hesitant because I read that there wasn’t any air conditioning, but my room had it! It was spacious, very welcoming, and clean!
- Sarah (10/5): - Great hospitality, great room and located very conveniently to the train station and all the attractions
- Allyson (10/5): - We had a great stay. As a single parent I felt we were safe and taken care of. It was close to everything, reasonably priced, staff were lovely, and comfortable. Even with all the stairs we came back 3 times. It will be our go to place if we are in Brussels again. It’s a hidden gem.
- david (10/5): - Truly the absolutely best location you could stay while visiting Brussels! Great hotel, staff and close to everything
- Daniel (10/5): - Very nice staff.
- Mitchell (10/5): - Our Family Suite was very unique with the Loft above and lots of wood - like being in a lodge. Very Cool. The location is perfect for enjoying Old-Town Brussels - right outside the door were shops, restaurants and cafes. I recommend!
- Subbu (8/5): - The main issue to be aware is that there is no elevator at least part of the hotle
- Andrea (10/5): - The Agora Hotel was a perfect place to stay on our trip to Brussels. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in the heart of everything you hope to see when you visit Brussels.
The room got a bit hot with the weather, but the provided fans (3 in our family suite) made it bearable. It’s a beautiful historic building and one I would recommend to anyone going to Brussels.
- Brent (10/5): - The staff at Agora are just amazing, especially Eve. Thank you for helping me so much with my bad French, and helping suggest neighborhood restaurants etc. If I ever expand my business into Europe, I'm going to come hire you. You and your colleagues are great with people.
The location could not be better.
Heads up that the hotel is very traditional without an elevator and the showers/bathrooms are teeny tiny.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Overrated but great location - I decided to stay in Agora because it had 9.8/10 review!! … and do not understand why???
Great location!
Staff is very friendly
The room we got was hot as hell!! Urgently needs A/C!!
The mattresses were old and uneven.
Looooots of stairs (which was advertised in their site). Would not recommend for the elderly.
- HECTOR (8/5): - No air conditioner
- Reviewer (8/5): - Lack of storage (closet, wall hooks, bathroom counter, bedside table) was an issuand particularly frustrating as there was plenty of room for it and it would be an easy fix.
- Mariana (10/5): - Friendly staff, very clean, cozy and close to everything, first choice to stay there again ..
- Roberta (8/5): - Nice hotel in the heart of Brussels. Unusual. We loved it.
- Emma (8/5): - Room was big beds comfy shower ok. Good benefit with a fridge and safe in room. Cleaners didnt put rubbish in bins very small amount of toilet rolls. No shampoo or conditioner. Kettle was very small and nowhere except the floor to boil it. Nowhere sturdy to put small or large cases. Stairs are steep no lift. Staff were friendly and helpful
- Edward Hansen (10/5): - Great property and awesome staff. Very convenient.
- Christie (10/5): - Great location. Close to train station, restaurants, and sights.
- E C (8/5): Great central location! - Great central location, and awesome good friendly service. However something slightly odd going on with the drains in the bathroom, comfortable stay though!
- Hayley (10/5): - Great location, two minute walk to Grand Place, 5 mins to Central Station. Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. Would recommend.
- Kathy (10/5): - Great location, friendly staff, really nice!
- Peter (8/5): - Great location. Basic hotel but very comfortable and the staff very friendly
- Nicholas (10/5): - Excellent location and staff - Thanks
- Gemma (10/5): Perfect - Perfect overnight stay, central, clean and comfortable, peaceful nights sleep
- David (10/5): Staff make this great hotel even better - This is a great hotel in a fantastic location for Brussels but what made it really fantastic were the incredibly friendly and helpful staff.
- H (8/5): 9/10 - Stay was excellent, the staff were very helpful and kind. Hotel is located close to everything.
- Debra (10/5): - Very friendly and welcoming. Our room was exactly as advertised and was perfect for us.
- Melisa (10/5): - My brother and I absolutely love this property! It was a 3 minute walk away from the train station. 5 mins walk away from a grocery store & casino. The room was exceptionally clean. Do not be intimidated by the stairs. The check in went really smooth so was the check out. My brother and I would definitely be back here with our parents and we both highly recommend this property to our friends and family who needs a hotel in Brussels!
- David (8/5): Location location location! - Superb location and comfy bed were highlights! Room nice and quiet for sleep. Staff was very kind and helpful.
On down side: lots of stairs to walk; bathroom VERY tiny with no room for toiletries; angled ceilings a head hazard.
Would definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay.
- Mark (10/5): - The staff here are lovely and it’s a central location. Room was very comfy and warm in December.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Perfect, lovely staff nice room, could even see the spire!
- Verified traveler (6/5): ok stay - There is no lift in the hotel but staff assisted bringing luggage to the room. While it is very centrally located, we have a room near the stairwell street facing which was very loud at night. It was very underwhelming for the price we paid
- Tanzeel (10/5): - I think it is an outstanding building, a cultural heritage yet in such a magnificent condition with full modern touch. I would not like to see any change it, it is so pretty in its present form. So beautifully and smartly maintained.
The other prominent feature was the incredible hospitality of staff. I greatly admire the kindness and professionalism they show to their guests, just being ready to help. Amazing! I would love to come back again!
- Rolf (10/5): A lucky find - Really nice, small hotel, in a great location near the Central train station. The staff were super friendly, and the price was reasonable. You must take stairs up to your room, mine was three floors up, one straight and two winding stair cases, so one should not come here if obese or out of shape. The staff will help with the luggage, which is helpful.
- Jaime O (10/5): Excellent - Best location, clean and very helpful service.
- Christopher (10/5): - Nice staff, rooms are clean, and location is great.
- Elena (10/5): - Everything one needs to enjoy the area.
- Haylee (10/5): - Amazing, central location to explore Brussels with easy walk from Central train station. Our room over-looked busy square but was suprisingly quiet for the busy location. Room was great for 2 adults and 2 children but ceilings were low in some areas so husband could not stand in bathroom. There are so may food options right outside the door of hotel and very close to walk to many sights in Brussels. We had a great stay!
- David (10/5): Quaint hotel in great location - Cool hotel in great location in Brussels Belgium. Easily walkable to central train station and grand place amongst other local establishments. Beers chocolates and waffles are everywhere.
- Feiyue (10/5): - Close to city center and lot of eating places around
- Mishael (10/5): - A nice quaint property ❤
- Carlos (10/5): - The Hotel was fine and clean. The staff very friendly. The time I was there at beginning of September the temperature still hot days and they don't have A/C but there is a fan in the room. Very close to the train station and all the historic places.
- arthur (6/5): - Staff was helpful and all the major sites were close by
- Dianne (10/5): - The Hotel Agora Bruxelles Grand Place is a very interesting hotel. The desk staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The location so close to the main plaza and the Grand Place was perfect for our tourist stay. The room was clean and interesting and located in the top of the hotel. Potential guests need to be aware that there is no elevator and there are many stairs required to the top floor room. There is no AC although we were fine mid September and were able to open the windows and they provided two floor fans. It is an interesting and eclectic hotel in a good location, but the downsides are the stairs and the air conditioning. We agree the plaza below would be too noisy to have the windows open in the summer months. It was very quiet and dark with the windows closed though.
- MARIBEL (10/5): - The staff was friendly and very helpful. The property has no elevator but the staff helps you with your bags . The rooms are big but the only problem is that the rooms have no air conditioning. The room did have a fan which did help .
- Sandra (8/5): - Staff were really helpful
- Christine (10/5): 2 night stay - Beautiful room with a lovely view. Spacious room but it does have a small bathroom. This was not a problem for us.
Only a few minutes walk to Grand Plas. Excellent position for walking around the sites.
Our room was in the attic so a lot of steps to reach but well worth it. No lifts.
Our luggage was kindly taken up to the room. Very friendly, inviting staff.
We would definitely stay again when visiting Brussels.
- Kathryn (8/5): - There was a mix up with our room which was dealt with immediately to our satisfaction which was much appreciated.
- Angela (8/5): Can’t beat the location and service - I expected the hotel to not have a lift but I didn’t expect the very narrow circular flights of stairs that I needed to cover to get to my room. I was quite distressed by that and the fact that the hotel does not have AC. However, the location is phenomenal and the young man at the front desk was so sweet and helpful. We had a fantastic stay!
- Ronnie (10/5): - The staff were very helpful especially the front desk staff (a lady). There was no elevator but someone will bring your baggages to your room from the lobby.
- Curtis (8/5): - Excellent OLD hotel, lots of charm. The only wish would be AC, otherwise we loved it.
- Cathleen (10/5): - The staff was friendly and very helpful .
- Teresa (10/5): - Great layout and super location . Staff was lovely and very helpful.
- Philippe (6/5): A disaster waiting to happen. - This hotel has an elevator, but it services only part of two floors. My room, as well as a friend’s, ( rooms 5 and 6: AVOID AT ALL COSTS) were located on the top floor, and accessible only via 3 very steep staircases. The staff is so aware of that that they offer to bring suitcases up and down. It gave me the feeling of owning a slave ! I wish i could give them a more positive review because they are so nice. In addition, these two rooms are not air conditioned and the first night was very hot, about 85 degrees. Opening the window is not an option as vagrants party, get drunk or fight in the narrow street below. ONCE AGAIN, EXPEDIA AND HOTELS.COM OFFER UNRELIABLE INFORMATION. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THEY NEVER CHECKED THIS HOTEL WHICH SHOULD NOT BE PART OF THEIR LIST IN BRUSSELS ! A FIRE IN THIS HOTEL COULD HAVE DISASTROUS CONSEQUENCES. Staff leaves the premises at 10 pm and do not return until 8 am the next morning.
- Priscilla (10/5): - Great location, super helpful friendly staff.
- Cesar (10/5): - This is an amazing location! Right in the middle of everything.
- Martin (10/5): - It was perfectly located. Easy from airport, tour connecting to coach, trip to Gent and Bruge. Staff (Eve) excellent!
- Pradeep (6/5): - Great location - but the hotel ceilings are super low!
If you are anything above 5’6 taller do not stay here. You will hit your head multiple times!
- Jackie (6/5): - This is a cute little hotel, friendly staff, and well placed in the heart of old town Brussels. This hotel is, however, not for those with accessibility restrictions. There is no elevator and a ton of stairs. I was on the top floor and had to carry 40 pounds of luggage up and down. It was also a heat wave when I was there and there was no A/C, only some fans that they set up in the room. You couldn't open the window because there was a LOT of foot traffic below (one of the busiest squares right outside the window). So, it was very, very warm by the time you climbed to your room in the heat and had to keep the windows closed. Bathrooms were also super tiny. (Using the toilet, my knees were half in the shower...) The staff were great, though. They do offer breakfast. (I didn't order it but I was appreciative that they offered it.) The location is superb. You literally walk out of the hotel and into the throng, on streets full of restaurants and shops.
- Luz (10/5): - Beds are comfortable, location is perfect, one block from the train station. The only problem was that the lobby smelled like someone didn’t take a shower for days. Thank God we only had to be there for a few minutes.
- Ivan (10/5): - What a great place and welcoming staff! Please to stay here! Thank you
- Adrian (8/5): - Amazing location !! Room small but cozy, staff very friendly, really worth what I paid.
- takae (10/5): - Amazing location with friendly and helpful staff!
Will definitely stay again
- Ryan (8/5): - Good value. Great location. Nice staff. Would do it again.
- Kenneth (10/5): - Very nice property close to everything
- Christine (8/5): Location and comfort - Hotel located in central Brussels just few minutes from train and bus stations
Eve receptionist very helpful noting points of interest on free map
Lift is available but not till you negotiate stairs to level 1
Rooms have been renovated. Eco means paper cups not glass or crockery
Front rooms face market square
Bathroom door has auto door closure which is inconvenient. Due to fire policy but wonder if you’d find refuge in bathroom with no window and louvres in door
- Shaun (10/5): - Perfect location, very comfy bed with great views of the city!
- Victoria (10/5): Central Location and Clean Comfortable Rooms - We had a great room for our family of 4. We booked the quadruple room, which had 2 twin beds and a bathroom downstairs and then 2 twin beds upstairs in a loft. The loft was perfect for our teenagers. Our windows opened out into the Haymarket town square area. We loved looking out at all the activity. When the doors were shut it blocked much of the sound out, but I’d recommend sleeping with a white noise machine or fan. The room included 2 fans downstairs and 1 fan upstairs, which was good because there’s no air conditioning. There are quite a few stairs in the hotel so be prepared for that. The location was very central to many sites, including the Grand Place, the Royal Galleries, the Royal Palace, and many museums. We walked everywhere. Staff was very friendly and spoke English.
- Lauren (10/5): Great location and comfortable - Wonderfully located boutique hotel. We had a quick walk from the train station and once checked in found loads of restaurants, shops, and areas of interest very close by. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and we loved how comfortable the bed was. We would definitely stay again!
- Andrew (10/5): - Very central location. A great place to stay
- Michael (10/5): Perfect location and stay - With only a day to visit Brussels, this was the perfect place to stay. The location and room were wonderful and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We appreciated the use of umbrellas during the morning rain- what a nice touch! We were very pleased with our stay. Thank you so much!
- Claire (10/5): It’s a must when in Brussels! - Reception staff super helpful and pleasant. Quick and easy check in, location perfect and safe. (Double entry system after 10pm) no noise and super comfy beds. Staff very attentive when asked for extra water/cups and iron/board for the room.
- Dana (10/5): - We will recommend the Hotel Agora to everyone we know. This quaint and clean hotel was perfect for our family of 3. We stayed in room 11 and were very comfortable during our three day stay. We appreciated that there were stand-up fans to help cool the room while we slept. The receptionist, Eve, was extremely helpful, friendly and kind. She allowed us to storage our luggage prior to check in, gave us suggestions about sites to see, showed me an app that would help us plan a day trip to Bruges and more. Eve and the rest of the hotel staff helped make our stay memorable. Thank you!
- Jenifer (10/5): - The staff was exceptional
- Megan (10/5): - A lovely little hotel right in the heart of the city!
The staff are very friendly and helpful and allowed us to drop off our bags early in the morning whilst we explored the city and even let us check in a bit earlier after we’d had a long morning travelling.
The room was beautiful and despite being in the city centre was very quiet, I also like the hotels approach to being eco friendly! Would definitely stay here again :)
- Martin (10/5): - nice central property. Very kind staff
- Carol (8/5): - Comfortable hotel with rooms that easily fit a family of four. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located.
- Margaret (10/5): - If you are staying in Brussels, there is no better place than this. Easy walk from Central station, it is set over a waffle restaurant and across from so many other places to eat. Close to the Grand Square and walking distance to all the best things to do in Brussels. Can't recommend this hotel too highly. The staff were the most helpful and friendly I have come across, even taking our cases up to the room for us and bringing down on check out.
- Craig (10/5): - The hotel is placed very close to Brussels Central station, which is a short train ride directly from Brussels Airport. The staff were very helpful showing us where to visit in the city and good places for food and drink. The hotel is in a historic building, but the inside is very modern. It is also a short walk away from a lot of tourist attractions shopping centers, and many bars and restaurants.
- Helen (10/5): Excellent stay - The location of the hotel is spectacular! The view from our room was very good. Service was excellent and everyone was very helpful. My only complaint is the room did not have a safe. I would suggest putting a safe in all the rooms.
- Philip (10/5): - The location of this hotel is excellent in that it is close to the train station and Grand Place as well as well as shops and restaurants. The staff are courteous and very helpful.
- Justin (10/5): - Great location, excellent staff, charming room.
- Margaret (8/5): - Close to Centraal station. Walk out the door and you are in a main tourist zone. Many options for food and drink close by. 67 steps to attic room!
Hotel staff was very nice, carried suitcases up for us. Shower door did not open very far, about 13", difficult or impossible for a large person to enter. Our window opened inward, fire escape leads down to a platform where it looked to us like the only escape option is to go back into the building. The room was smaller than the photos made it seem, but the architecture with the exposed 16th century beams was interesting. "King" bed was two twin beds pushed together, with separate duvets. Staff held bags for us downstairs when asked, could drop off shopping for example and carry it up when returning for the evening.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location and friendly staff
