Guest Reviews
- Glenn (10/5): - Professional staff, central location and delicious breakfast!
- Kyle (10/5): - Great staff
- Wanda (10/5): - Excellent location and good service
- Javier (10/5): - Nice Location. Close to everything in Zona Colonial.
- Kenneth (10/5): - Perfect location in the Colonial area. Anna at reception was wonderful and very helpful with checkin and offered a map of a walkable tour to see the areas sites and restaurants.
- Ismary (10/5): - Very well located services as promised friendly staff
- Derryl (6/5): - Previous stay was much better ! Great location.
Bathroom had mould . We had to wait for coffee as there were no cups , cups arrived after we finished breakfast.
- carlos (10/5): - Great place
- Keenan (10/5): Great value with everything you need - It was only one night but the accommodations were perfect and a good value. We had been staying in a 5 star resort in Samaná and this bed was more comfortable and showers were nice with good hot water. The location was also ideal.
- Paul (8/5): Lovely boutique hotel - Lovely boutique hotel, close to the main areas of Zona Colonial. Excellent staff and great breakfast.
- Ana Rosibel (10/5): - Would recommend and stay here again
- Emil (2/5): - I went to Santo Domingo for my father’s funeral. I made a reservation for four nights. I arrived at around 3 AM and only stayed there for a few hours and left the hotel at 8:30 AM. The person who received me at 3 AM was NOT kind. They didn’t even ask me to sit down while he was seated on a table -not the front desk- doing my check-in.
I tried to pay. The person told me I would be charged in pesos, but I refused to pay in pesos ‘cause sometimes the charge is different. The night front desk person told me to speak to the morning staff and pay them. It was a good thing I wasn’t charged for the reservation that first night ‘cause went I went to the room, I found my “NOT NEgotiable”. The one, I would not tolerate in any hotel around the world: no hot water.
The concept of the hotel is great. The pictures look great, but once I was in the room and really looked around the bedroom, the corners were dirty. The space behind the bed was dusty and at the top left corner, there was a spider-web. I could forgive a room that is not impeccable, but what I couldn’t forgive was the lack of hot water. I take good hot water showers, if a hotel has no hot water, sorry, ¡Goodbye! The very next morning at 8:30 AM I paid for that night and went to another hotel in the area.
The morning staff was very respectful and kind.
Perhaps mine was one case in a thousand cases, ‘cause I’ve heard good things about this hotel. Perhaps their boiler had issues that day. But hot water is my non-negotiable.
- Amado (10/5): - Amazing +++
Great staff
Great location
Love the tres golpes breakfast :)
- NATACHA (8/5): - The staff is very welcoming and very polite but there is no hot water for my early shower.
- Leo (10/5): - I love the staff Ana Joan and Socrates were very helpful in everything and very caring we will come back as soon as we can our stay was great because of this staff
- Juan (8/5): - Very good costomer service
- Adrian (10/5): - Excelente hotel. Muy barato en comparacion con otros del area. Incluye desayuno. Staff super amable. Habitaciones grandes y bien equipadas.
- Erick (10/5): - Amazing. This hotel felt like a natural home away from home. The history, the rooms, the patio. I was so impressed with the level of comfort and attention to detail. My stay was perfect.
- Cyrus (8/5): - Liked: In the heart of town right next to all attractions. Nice hotel with good breakfast.
Disliked: Called the night before to ask about onsite parking and was told it was readily available. Also received message "...onsite parking is available and complimentary...". This is false. There is only street parking which is very difficult in the center of this old town. Additionally the entire hotel street was closed to cars during the day due to construction. Had to park far & walk 10-15 mins with luggage.
- Calvin (6/5): - Room is really nice. There is no onsite parking like it says. Jacuzzi was broken when we were there. There is street parking and it’s first come first serve to the public.
- BRENDA (10/5): - The staff was wonderful, specially Ana, very kind, helpful and friendly. The property is beautiful and quiet, great place.
- Eric (10/5): - Extremely polite staff. Well kept rooms. Remodeling going on, keep in mind.
- Eric (10/5): - Nice and peaceful
- Toby (10/5): - Staff was great. Comfortable room. Close to everything in Colonial Zone.
- Madaleine (10/5): - Really cute and cozy place. It was clean, comfy, and had such a nice vibe. My boyfriend and I actually came back to stay again because we loved it the first time. The rooftop and hammocks were our little getaway spots we spent so much time up there. It’s also in the perfect location, walking distance to all the good restaurants. The staff was super sweet too. The only downside was a slight musty smell in the room, but I think that’s just from the humidity this time of year. Still, we had a great stay!
- James (10/5): - Wonderful staff, best location in Colonial Zona.
Great authentic Dominican breakfast!
- Clinton (10/5): - My wife and I stayed a week at Hotel Luca for our honeymoon. We chose it because we liked the idea of staying in a historic DR hotel, rather than just another American hotel that's been dropped into a different part of the world. Hotel Luca has done an excellent job of merging the old with the modern. The location is fantastic, just a block and a half off Conde St (the main drag in the district). Easy walking access to anywhere in the district. Breakfast (which was tasty, but not necessarily American) was cooked to order. It was taken under a covered outdoor patio, surrounded by greenery in the courtyard. You can see the age in the architecture, which adds to the charm of the place. It was a beautiful experience to begin each day. The hotel staff was amazingly kind and hospitable, particularly the two managers who speak fluent English. Their advice on the local area was both helpful and accurate. They made our stay better, for sure! The room was cute, and tended to daily. The bed was large and comfortable. Bathroom/shower were attractive and modern. The AC was powerful. The Jacuzzi wasn't heated when we were there, but considering the weather, it was actually nice to be able to cool off in.
We would LOVE to stay here if we end up in The DR again! We had a wonderful experience at Hotel Luca!
- Priscilla (8/5): - The hotel has vintage character with modern updates. It's in the heart of the Zona Colonial yet sufficiently removed from the noise. My bed was very comfortable and the water pressure and hot water were excellent which isn't always the case in Zona Colonial. The staff is lovely, courteous and always helpful. Special shout out to Joan and Ana as well as Andres in the evening. Breakfast was wonderful! The construction the city is doing impacted ease of getting to and out of the hotel but that's not theirs to control. Hopefully it'll soon be finished.
- wilmary (10/5): - Great location and food was very good
- Maria Isabel (10/5): - This is strictly street parking. Also currently the street in front of the property is under constructionso beware of this while trying to get to it. As always in DR staff was friendlt and attentive. The overnight staff was not resdily avail but understandable since it was late at night but door was locked. Overall I would stay again.
- Ana (10/5): Nice urban hotel - We went to SD as part of a longer trip throughout DR. The hotel is well located, with many options for food around. However we arrived very late in the night and everything was closed. The person at the hotel (Isabel) was so attentive, she prepared us some sandwiches for the night.
All people working at the hotel are very helpful and friendly. The hotel has an amazing rooftop with hammocks, grill area with chairs and tables, where you can bring your food. It has everything you need to spend a couple of days in the urban life of colonial SD.
Excellent breakfast
- Grant (10/5): - Everything was great. The staff was the best part. Very attentive, friendly, and professional.
- Derryl (10/5): - Everything about our stay was fabulous & convenient !
- Luis (10/5): - Simple and nice location. Construction in front of the hotel affect an easy access. Great breakfast. Comfortable bed.
- darrell (10/5): Sweet Little Place - Delightful, friendly, English-speaking staff. Charming, quiet, cozy boutique hotel, well-located.
- cristina (10/5): Great Staff - Staff is wonderful , all are very friendly . special Thank you for Anna , she is so helpful. the only downside is that they are re doing all the roads on the colonial zone which makes it hard to go around with the suitcase as the cars cannot get up close to door hotel. My room , I had no noise from the street work.
- Valerio (10/5): - Excellent stay! Everything was perfect, also the staff! In particular SOCRATES, who helped us with the luggages and every other need: eres el mejor!!! Gracias por todo ❤️
- Russell (10/5): - The most AMAZING host and staff! They went above and beyond! Love the French feel of this small hotel. Very relaxing. Rooms are
Small but clean. Close to all of the good restaurants and tourist attraction. We will be back!
- Alfonso (10/5): - The hotel is very, nice, comfortable and really good located. Everything is at a walking distance in Zona Colonial.
- Johan Enrrique (10/5): - The staff were friendly with all of the guests. It felt like we were family.
- Susannah (10/5): - This hotel is in a great location a block from walking street in Colonial Santo Domingo. Excellent service, great room, very quiet, good breakfast, easy checkin and checkout. The porter helped us park and with our luggage. Beautiful courtyard where drinks and breakfast are served. Highly recommend.
- Asif (10/5): - Staff provided excellent service. Washroom was nice, clean and functional with hot water. Bed was comfy. Location is safe. Will stay again in future trips to Santo Domingo.
- georgina (10/5): - The hotel is very clean. The room the property are very pretty and unique. The location is awsome and staff and service are amazing!! I highly recommend you will not be dissapointed. Thank you Luca amazing staff for making our stay such a great experience!!
- Bettina (8/5): - The room and the bathroom are large, during the night it was quiet. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. It is walkable and safe.
- Brett (10/5): - Amazing place and very quiet and relaxing. Delicious complimentary breakfast is a plus! Have stayed here several times. Quick check in/check out and great location…close to nice restaurants.
- Joenny (10/5): - Great location, and amazing staff!
- Anteous (6/5): - The room was subpar for the price. The location wasn’t the best as the road in front is under construction.
- Axel (10/5): - Ana was a great host, always making sure we had all that we needed. She was on-point providing recommendations for dinning, nightlife, shopping and things to do around.
- Jay (10/5): - A very charming hotel with friendly staff. The road was under construction, it will be more convenient when finished but it did make the hotel very quiet for an urban setting.
- Michael (10/5): - Everything was great !!!except no signal to watch television
- Dimitri (4/5): - Under construction. The water went out for almost a whole day. The room had a humid smell.
- John (10/5): Lovely hotel. - Lovely hotel and a quiet oasis in the bustle of Santo Domingo.
- Barbara (8/5): - Wonderful little hotel. Could use a bureau with drawers for unpacking and a suitcase holder for luggage.
- Karen (10/5): - We have stayed twice at the Luca Hotel. The staff was all very kind and helpful. The location is close to everything in the Zona Colonial but in a quiet location. I would definitely stay here again.
- Cristina (8/5): - Good stay
- Roberto (8/5): - The hotel as always is nice and the staff superb. The construction around the old city is well underway.
- Harrison (10/5): - This hotel has literally been a home away from home for our family. Nacho has instituted an incredible culture and truly cares about making a great guest experience. The location in a well-maintained, true colonial era building makes for a stay that is hard to beat. Thank you!
- Richard (10/5): - Beautiful hotel in an old colonial building in the middle of the old city. Spotless and well appointed room overlooking an amazing central courtyard with tinkling fountains. Fantastic breakfast. Amazing staff. Free water dispenser for refilling bottles!!
- Karen (10/5): - Service maravilloso! Habitaciones limpias, comodas y frescas! No se escuchan sonidos de la calle lo que permite descansar propiamente.
El staff maravilloso! Las dos Anna nos brindaron una gran atención!!
Esperemos regresar pronto
- Angela (10/5): - My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights and it was really comfortable and clean - we would totally stay here again!
- William (10/5): - Todo Super!!!!
- Alexander (10/5): - Great spot, easy to get around.. lots of shops and restaurants near by
- Justin (10/5): - The staff were friendly and helpful. The property is well-maintained and in an excellent location.
- Erik (10/5): - Really liked the ambiance of the place. We were there for news years and watched fireworks from the roof top. We also ordered pizza and ate on the roof top. Relaxed in the hammocks. The room was clean, breakfast provided, and a hot shower!
- Andrea (10/5): - Nice clean room, beautifully decorated. Close to town
- Laura (10/5): - This is a beautiful hotel. The owners and staff are very welcoming. The room is comfortable and well appointed.
- Irene (10/5): - Excellent location and everything in walking distance!
- Anya (10/5): Awesome place, will stay again - Amazing stay. I loved everything, central location, friendly stuff, decor, architecture and delicious breakfast. Stuff is extremely helpful and always available. Especially I loved the view from my room on the beautiful court yard.
- Michael (10/5): - The place is spectacular for the price. There are better hotels in the Colonial Zone but they cost twice as much. This place is a gem thats super affordable. Located in a couple hundred year old building, there is a giant mango tree that dropped mangos daily. We ate 4 or 5 a day. No pool is the downside. Breakfast is free but super super basic. Well worth the price.
- Anabell (8/5): - the hotel is nice and they staff are great
- Frank (8/5): - General ok
- Frixo (10/5): - Keep it up!!!
- Maribel (10/5): - Everyone here was super polite and friendly. I was super happy with our stay here. Would love to be back again in the future. If we had any questions everyone was helpful and never rude or with an attitude. Our family truly appreciates the quality of service everyone gave. You have an exceptional team here. Keep up the great work.
- Michel (10/5): explore santo domingo - Excellent hotel to explore santo domingo. excellent people. excellent service.
- Emely (10/5): - First time at this hotel and I loved it, the best thing about this Hotel is the services, everyone is so friendly and welcoming you will feel like you’re at your house, will definitely go back and recommend to everyone.
- Josephine (8/5): - Good overall
- Stephanie (10/5): - The room and bathroom were good sizes and very clean. The manager clearly has experience in the tourist industry and was very attentive. The staff were all very pleasant. The Dominican breakfast was sufficient and set you up for the day. The only negative was that there wasn't much communal space outside of the room to relax and there is limited space to seat everyone for breakfast.
- Karl (8/5): - The atmosphere is good. I have stayed there before.
- Wisler (10/5): - The staff were incredibly welcoming. Both Johny and the woman ( forgot her name ) who checked me in went above and beyond. I will definitely choose this hotel for all my future visits to the DR
- Gabriel (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay at Luca, the hotel is cute and well maintained, and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast was also very good! The surrounding area is lively and there’s plenty of dining options. Parking is a bit difficult, but that would be everywhere in the colonial district
- enrique (8/5): - Check inn was ok. Room very nice and clean.
It didnt have shampoo in the shower container, and when I asked for it, they dindt even have in stock.
Breakfast is poor, small portions and when something ends they dont have product to refill
- magda (6/5): Booked for the place - Its a very special place! Very colonial!
Unfortunately, service received from an employee was awful. Breakfast bad.
Owner is wonderful very servicial
- Emilio (8/5): - This is my second time,my first time was better,we should carry on with our logagge for 3 floors ,the elevator it doesn’t work
- German Miguel (10/5): - Luca Hotel by Heritage Residences Signature Collection is a gem that truly embodies luxury and comfort. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the elegant décor that blends modern touches with historical charm. The rooms are spacious, meticulously clean, and furnished with high-end amenities. I especially loved the breathtaking city views from my balcony.
The staff was warm, attentive, and professional, making sure every detail of my stay was perfect. The on-site dining options offered a delicious variety of local and international dishes. The rooftop pool and bar were standout features, offering a serene escape with stunning panoramic views.
Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether for business or leisure, Luca Hotel provides an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious stay with impeccable service!
- Michael (8/5): Nice boutique hotel in colonial center - Nice boutique hotel in colonial center. All the staff were great, friendly and helpful, especially Johnny! Our only complaint is that there was no soap by the bathroom sinks, only the soft soap dispenser in the shower. Also, the towels were somewhat thin and on the small side. Otherwise everything was fine.
- Jacinto (10/5): - The hotel was beautiful and Rosio from the front desk make my stat wonderful
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I had an excellent stay at the Luca Hotel. My room was clean, beautiful and comfortable, breakfast was tasty, and the location is fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel.
- Kendall (10/5): Great location - Really comfortable, clean, amazing room, and the location is great. Easy walk to lots of restaurants and sites in the Zona Colonial. The staff were really helpful and nice. Highly recommend. The only note is parking: the site says there is free parking but it’s street parking, which depending on the day can be hard to find nearby.
- Belinda (10/5): - I want to give a big shout out to Johnny for being so curious and helpful.
Also thank you Johnny for recommending me to a fabulous tour guide by the name of Edison Rondon. He was my driver from the airport to the hotel and I also hired him to give me a tour of the city. We spent 7 hours going all over Santo Domingo and he really made the experience very pleasant and I learned allot about his country. Very polite, professional, funny and smart. It was a great experience.
- Raul (10/5): - Great property definitely will be back
- Miguel (10/5): - Excelente opción en la Zona Colonial
- Carmen (2/5): Staff needs to be trained in customer service!!! - It went wrong from the check in. Please note that it is completely weird, the fact that the concierge (Milagros) was not behind the front desk, but sitting in one of dining table with a computer. As soon as I checked and made my payment upfront, I asked for my welcome drink, Milagros checked my reservation and said that it was a beer, they brought the beer and then left. I then asked for the bottle of wine (gold member) and she proceeded to say that she apologize since it was either/or, and if they gave me wine, I would have to pay for the beers. I told her that was her mistake, she brought the wine but insisted that I needed to pay for the beers. Never an apology, even knowing that it was my birthday. Never gave me the welcome drink, I purchased my own wine and return the one she gave me. The room had only solar shade, there was no black out, so at 6am I was up. The overnight concierge was wearing sandals, and at breakfast we wanted some mimosas, but they ran out of cava and prosecco. I left before check out! Customer service is very poor. Like I told her, knowing that she never offered the welcome drink, knowing that she never said either/or, knowing that I had a bad experience there in the past and knowing that it was my birthday weekend; she was supposed to get approval from Management and leave the wine bottle at not cost, like I told her, it was not about the wine and the cost of it, it was her customer service skills. They have completely lost a customer.
- Louis (8/5): - Bedrooms were very clean. Food was very limited
- Sasha Gaye (8/5): - We booked it for a night and our flight was early the next day so we didnt get to tour the grounds however the courtyard was gorgeous. Owner was great and very facilitating. Short walk from restaurants and shopping.
The bed was more comfortable than the all inclusive we stayed at before getting here.
- Kelly (10/5): - Great location and Rocio was super helpful with everything we needed. She called us a taxi and made sure they weren’t giving us the high tourist price
- Verified traveler (8/5): Would stay agin - Great location and room. The staff engaged me via whatsapp and it was a really quick and easy check in. Breakfast was great. We had a bad experience with the night staff woman. She wasn't helpful or responsive to us, but the sayshift person apologized.
- Sheldon (10/5): - Friendly, welcoming, would definitely stay here again. I would recommend
- Kofi (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at the Luca Hotel . Johnny and all the staff at the Luca Hotel made our stay amazing . Breakfast was amazing and it was beautiful to stay in a residence built in the 1600.
- Pedro (10/5): - I met all my expectations, Rocio, Johnny an Milly are the best hosts!!! The place is a little part of history. The place is amazing!! I Will always recommend it.
