Guest Reviews
- elwyn (8/5): - Very nice lady at check in. Clean.some what dated. But the price was right
- Betty (10/5): - Clean, comfortable room. Good stop in mid-Iowa.
- Jodi (8/5): - The staff were especially accommodating and the location convenient for my purposes. The room and fixtures were clean, and AC/heat worked well without excessive noise. The bed was firmer than what I've experienced in most lodging, and I appreciated that. The curtains could be heavier to block street and early morning light. The door on my unit was difficult to close because the bottom dragged. I would stay at this property again.
- Robert (10/5): Comfortable at a great price. - Comfy old-style motel, but has been refurbished and is in great condition. Plenty of convenient parking. Friendly helpful staff. No breakfast included, but a great value nonetheless.
- Nancy (10/5): - Five stars for the price of a clean, convenient, no frills old style motel near a truck stop. If one queen bed will suffice, and all you need is a fridge with freezer and a microwave to get you through your overnight stay, save your money and stay here. No ice, no pool. Maybe bring your own pillow.
- Leslie (10/5): - Clean and comfortable basic accommodations for a great price! Everything met or exceeded our expectations.
- Jason (10/5): - Clean room, friendly staff.
- Dennis (10/5): - Nice people at check in
- sandra (10/5): - Very friendly staff. Very clean. Large rooms.
Will stay again soon.
- Brian (10/5): - I like that they are located a very short distance to the freeway. Also, the rooms are very clean.
The noise from the truck traffic nearby is problematic and for that reason we run the fan continuously to drown it out.
- steven (8/5): - Convenient, clean and friendly staff.
- Jolene (10/5): - All good! Convenience! Off the interstate with gas stations and food!
- Patricia (10/5): - I liked the quiet clean rooms. Check in was a little slow but OK. Town was nice. Felt safe when I went for a walk
- Sharon (10/5): - Very nice
- Bryce (10/5): Good little motel - Good no frills motel, perfect for the price and a decent sized room.
- Kathy (8/5): - Beds were comfortable
- Kimberly (10/5): - Check in easy, associate was helpful with dining choices. Room was clean
- Michael (8/5): - Location was convenient to the interstate and some food choices.
- Stephanie (8/5): - I was in town for a wedding and the Motel was conveniently located with friendly staff and clean rooms. Great Value. Restaurants nearby.
- Aubrey (10/5): - Clean, convenient, and excellent staff
- Terry (10/5): - I’ll plan on staying again
- Rob (10/5): - Perfect place and value for an overnight after I80 driving.
- Rick (8/5): - The employees were nice. It was right next to a gas station. The motel was clean and roomy.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Needs some upgrading - The room was drab (colorless) with only a mirror and one picture on the wall. No tissue paper, no coffee machine. The physical state of the lodge was pretty bad. Some of the doors were cracked and the parking area was pretty cracked. It was also the case that I was the only person there overnight and the following morning--except for a supposed homeless and disabled man who was staying two doors down from me. Kind of spooky, actually.
- Teresa (2/5): - Would have been great but i found bed bugs and a trap maybe for aunts in my room. Lady at the desk was very nice anyway
- Paul (8/5): - Check in was very pleasant.
Everything was awesome for a roadside motel. We liked the smart tv so we could log in to our streaming services. Room was clean shower was as hot as you can take. My only complaint would be the mattress was not good. Change them and you have probably one of the best travel overnight stays I've ever found.
- Rhonda (10/5): - Friendly staff and plesant.
- Amy (10/5): Nice place! - This small motel, is super clean, really quiet and suited out needs perfectly for our one night stay.
- Gilbert E (6/5): - It was okay. It was quiet and comfortable but even though it was a non-smoking room it smelled of stale cigarette smoke. It could be freshened to improve.
- Deen (8/5): - This is basic lodging that has clean and comfortable rooms. Outside needs a little TLC. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.
- John (8/5): - Very nice staff and rooms very clean
- Andrew C (8/5): - Very bare-bones experience. So what— I was sleeping almost the whole time. The hailstorm damage from some time ago makes the room doors look like heck, but don’t let that deter you. They are going to address the finish on the doors, as well as do a general renovation, soon. This was a very fine experience. I like that my car was parked directly in front of my room, à la nineteen sixties. The property is located in a beehive of truck stops, gas stations, and fast food places. The town, to the north, is rather small. Owner and staff are very friendly. Owner is a local farmer, or farmer’s wife. There was a freezer where I re-froze my packets of artificial ice. Great place to stop and sleep after hours of driving through Nebraska and Iowa.
- Charles (6/5): - No frills motor hotel. It was convenient as a stopping place along our route. It was better than another property we visited on our trip in a larger city. Morning coffee was offered, but was below average.
- Debbie (10/5): - This is a cute little motel. Rooms were very clean, beds comfortable, and great price. I would recommend to anyone traveling through to stay here. Staff very friendly.
- Ewangga (10/5): - .
- Shane (8/5): - Great staff and very quiet. Only real geipe is the horribly flat small pillows
- Teresa (10/5): - Small hotel in a small town by a truck stop. Didn’t look like much from outside and older inside but very clean and comfortable beds. They put us in a handicap room so lots of space. Check in easy and friendly staff. Great value for the money, and would stay again.
- Melanie (10/5): - Obviously older motel, but nicely maintained. Staff super friendly on check in. Budget friendly alternative to more expensive chain hotels. Great for a one night stop on the road.
- Scott (8/5): - Very clean and conveniently arranged rooms; easy access to nearby restaurants and shopping. Doors on rooms have paint peeling and flaking, needs attention. Friendly, helpful staff. No instructions in rooms for use of Roku TV. Everything seemed to be on subscription. Budget friendly and good value.
- Brian (8/5): - I knew that the place would be minimal amenities but i chose because of cost + cleanliness. And it came through on both.
- craig (8/5): Good value - Updated and clean. Good value.
- Danelle (10/5): - Staff was friendly and rooms were clean.
- Glen (8/5): - Worn out furnishing but the price was right
- Bonnie (10/5): Clean and Comfortable - This is truly a no-frills motel but it was clean, comfortable, with super friendly staff. The room had a fridge with a separate top freezer, which we really appreciated as we always travel with a cooler of snacks and beverages. It’s conveniently located right off the interstate. Easy parking. We’d stay again should the opportunity arise.
- Timothy (6/5): - No cable or satillite TV. Only Ruku TV. No Klenex tissues. No ice availible. Clerk was very nice and helpful. I would stay again, but not my wife.
- Roger (10/5): - We toured this small town of 1600 people. Lot of history here. It is an old facility but very clean. Ben kinda runs things around here and is a hard working great guy. Miss Rodger’s was very sweet and pleasant.
- Matthew (6/5): Needs new beds - Nice people, the beds suck. If they had better beds I would stayed longer.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Go elsewhere, you're worth it - Worst stay of a 10 day road trip. Uncomfortable beds, terrible front desk. Only positive was brand new shower surround in the bathroom.
- Rebecca (6/5): - The room was very clean and the desk clerk friendly. It was a basic room with no frills. It was a good value.
- Thomas (8/5): - Clean, quiet and super convenient for budget minded road trippers. This is one of those classic and hard to find roadside motels where you park right outside your door. Charming small town has good local dining options, too. Bed was comfy and bath was in excellent condition. Roku TV wasn't working in my room but not an issue for me.
- Glen (10/5): Great price for basic lodging. - No frills, basic lodging. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. Clean rooms and friendly service. The motel is conveniently located off I-80. If the situation presents itself I would definitely stay there again.
- Charles (6/5): - On the downward trend, bed was from the 90's near as I could tell, very little water flow in the sink, bathroom was very well done, only 2 lights in the room and the fixtures were obsolete.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Love this place. Comfy beds. Price is good - Had some issue upon check in but she moved me to another room which was away from guys sitting outside smoking and loud and my room she originally gave me was right next to them and the room itself had some issues the bathroom sink the water just trinkled out and the door was hard to close and could see daylight around it. So i asked if could move just to feel more comfortable and cuz sink issue the room she moved me to was better.. but still had some issues but for 1st night not big deal i really like this place and for the price it is a good place to lay your head and get rest. The beds are comfortable.. sheets were thin and see thru but not big deal bring my own blanket with me always. My tv did not work but used my laptop to stream when i got back for the night. The 2nd day i did go front desk and gentlemen was awesome and went to get a roku out of another room and problem solved. Had tv. Staff are friendly and helpful. Main thing need improvement in room moved to is the curtain not black out curtain and it was not quite big enough so light could be seen around edges not horrible situation but i typically work nights and sleep during day and room little bright but black out curtains that cover whole window would be great. I brought my own pillows too . My 2 pillows i folded in half they were lil skinny.. and the towels lil thin and small. I had an extra one of my own that i brought in from car to use. I do love this place. But just some things to look at maybe
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice for place to get some rest - The only bad thing was cable was out which not big deal for 1st night . I ended up extending stay one night coz didn't feel good and no tv sucked. The wifi worked so was able to stream off my phone but not ideal. I understand not their fault but no discount offered due to situation and was not even aware until checked in but overall stay was good. Bed very comfortable and hopefully when back in town next month i will more then likely stay here again
- Patrick (8/5): - Desk clerk was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was very clean however had a little bit of a musty smell and walls had some unrepaired damage and the room needs a comfortable chair
- DWAYNE (10/5): Good value for money - Great bang for the buck motor lodge right near the freeway. Bed is relatively comfortable, ample hot water, overall really good stay for the money.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Easy and clean - Big gap in door made me have to crank the heat just to keep warm. Room clean
- Timothy (10/5): - Quite
- Mona (10/5): - Great staff, very quiet place to stay
- Rachel (10/5): - Very clean, beds were comfortable.
- Kari (10/5): Great motel! - We really love this place, have stayed there at least five times and always try to make it part of our itinerary. The staff are great! The rooms are clean! They are pet friendly! There is a yummy pub in downtown proper (Ruby’s) about a mile from the motel. Stay here. ♥️♥️♥️
- Keith (10/5): - Staff is awesome
- Stephen (10/5): - Fresh clean rooms
- Jeff (4/5): - When we arrive there is a sign on the counter indicating not using water between 3:00 PM and 11:00 PM due to storm drain repairs. Room was clean.
- Vickie (10/5): - Clean, well lit,excellent staff
- Nancy (2/5): - I booked this motel because it had an 8.8 satisfaction rating. We checked in, put our things in the room and left for dinner. When we came back we were watching TV for awhile and there was something crawling on my friend. we looked closer, tore the bed apart and the bed was infested with bed bugs! I wet a bar of soap and began blotting them up on the bar of soap.I took it to the office and showed it to the desk clerk. She was grossed out. They refunded my room charges and gave us keys for a different room. After two different sets of room keys for the new room, the door would not open. By now it was midnight. We loaded our car and left the property. Luckily another local hotel had an available room we could rent. No bedbugs there. I sure hope none came home with me.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay at the Stuart Motor Lodge. The staff were efficient and friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable and in very good condition. We had a very quiet evening and a great night’s sleep for a reasonable price. We would definitely stay again.
- Mona (10/5): - Great place very good price and lots of parking
- JOHN P. (10/5): - Very easy to find off of I80. All rooms one level. Very clean and a very good value.
- Ruby (4/5): Not very comfortable - Motel is old and needs updating. It was clean. But the bed and pillows were not comfortable. Listened to semi trucks run all night.
- Brian (10/5): - Easy interstate access, clean and affordable.
- NORA (8/5): - I loved this place until the trains woke me up all night. They don't have an ice machine.
- michael (6/5): - fc
- Elliott (8/5): - Was just fine
- Stephanie (8/5): - Good basic motor hotel. Plenty of coffee and a good spot to walk the dog.
- Gary (10/5): - Stay here instead of Des Moines, this place is SUPER CLEAN! This is our new stop for the night after dinner at the Iowa Machine Shed in Urbandale, well worth the extra 30 minute drive! Highly recommend!!!!
- Corissa (10/5): Clean and comfortable - We needed a quick, inexpensive place to stay while driving through the area. This was a perfect option. The motel is old and outdated but clean. Bed was comfortable (pillow was not) and it ha d everything we needed. Convenient location right off the highway. Friendly staff person. Would stay again if we passed through town
- Beth (10/5): - good
- Jeffrey (8/5): - The lady at the desk was nice to visit with but there wasn't any breakfast, just coffee.
- Betty (8/5): Good enough. - Its a bit hard to know where to turn in, just go in behind the Caseys.
Check in was good.
We had a room with 2 beds so the room was too small to have a good spot to put the suitcase.
The microwave in the room confused me and i burnt my breakfast. But at least they had one (others don't)
As others have posted, nice for a motel.
P.S. i wish the hotel and motel industry would quit cheaping out on pillows. When the pillow is so old the fluff can only make a half a pillow, don't put it on a bed.
- Giulia (8/5): - Surprisingly clean little motel
- Mona (10/5): - Great for the money staff was so nice
- Kenneth (8/5): - The hotel was good, surprisingly it was quiet with it being a front door open area to the parking lot. The room was ok. It only had 2 pillows and the towels were thin. There is NO ICE MACHINE on property.
- Mark (10/5): - This is a great little motel! Very clean, cold AC, and a very helpful front desk staff! We would definitely stay here again and recommend others do the same. Very reasonable priced. No ice machine or breakfast.
- Sharon (8/5): - Nice, reasonably priced motel right off Interstate. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Only down side it is dated and could be sliy cleaner
- Jennifer (10/5): - Great stay and lovely people
- Dennis (8/5): - Pretty basic. Front desk and other employees were very helpful and responsive. The room itself was clean, although the bed was REALLY close to the bathroom door. Also, no refrigerator, which would have helped with our road trip supplies. Easy access on and off the highway, and next door to gas.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - More than fine for a quick overnight after a long day's drive. Fridge was noisy. Casey's next door, so able to get morning coffee/snacks for the road.
- Gretchen (10/5): Love This Motel and the Town! - Friendly efficient check-in. Clean comfortable room in a pet friendly environment. Great location and town amenities to unwind after a long day of driving for us and the dogs!
- Hank (8/5): - It was an old fashioned mom and pop motel but was good. The prices have gone crazy so went for a cheap option. It was clean. The bed was not very comfortable. The only bad thing.
- Sandra (10/5): Clean and reasonably priced location - Nothing fancy but extremely friendly staff and perfect for one night
- Jacob (8/5): - Let my dog stay with me :) nice staff
- Jon (10/5): - Didn't find anything wrong with the room I might add i usually check the air conditioner filters to my pleasant surprise they were clean job well done Thank you
- John (8/5): - Very nice staff rooms extremely clean nice furnishings. The only thing I would suggest is repairing the main entry doors to the rooms some need paint ours had a rather large gap let light in and a few flies.
- Deanna (6/5): - Okay place for a one night stay while traveling. Nothing fancy. Needs some updating and maintenance, but nice folks.
- Julia (10/5): - Exterior of half the doors was shakey looking. Inside the room was clean.
Fast food and gas station were close.
Staff was very nice!
- Ramie (10/5): Nice little place - Who's a nice little hotel exactly what we needed for a long weekend. Very very reasonable.
- Lily (10/5): - Very clean motel, check in was quick & easy & very friendly! Easy on & off to highway, & some nice local dining options close by.
I would definitely stay here again.
- Zane (10/5): Good, clean, affordable - A good, clean, affordable overnight stay. No thrills, but takes care of the basics.
- sarah (10/5): - Fabulous for the price and location. Super nice staff.
