Guest Reviews
- Judith (7/5): Great value, basic but clean accommodation. Comfortable bed and a good sleep. - Great location, nice and clean Parking difficult as space tight for bigger cars
Bathroom floor tiles all broken
- RockingDaisy (10/5): Great stay - Easy book in and a very good location, close to stadiums, pubs and restaurants. The room was exactly what we needed for a date night as a couple. Great experience! Would recomend
- Patricia (4/5): - Clean Not a lot of- room had heating full on which we couldn’t turn off
No parking
No staff to talk to
Felt like student accommodation
- Galloway (7/5): -
- steve (8/5): -
- Chloe (10/5): Clean relaxed well presented - Very clean and nicely presented I loved the kitchen facilities on offer also Not the option to have later check out is unfortunately a bit of a dislike
- John (7/5): Ok but not sure we will stay again - Great location for city ground and Trent Bridge. Top floor stairs v steep plus kitchen facilities 3 rooms away from our room. V much thought all in one apartment.
- alex (10/5): Good parking , good communication, hot shower, comfy bed and pillows, well supplied kitchen for tea and coffees - All that we required Nothing, all as advertised.
- Jonathon (8/5): Good concept would probably stay again if I wanted something practical, clean and value for money. - It was clean and the communication was well organised. Good value for money and decent location. Good for us because we wanted to get to Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierrepont early each morning. Also decent pubs and a really good Indian up the road and over the bridge. Would be great for the Cricket or either Football clubs. The shared kitchen was slightly odd. Especially as there we lots of students using the facility because of a rowing event. Felt a bit like being in student halls. Also it's a converted old house and the floorboards creaked a lot which is an issue when people were coming back early in the morning. Also the rooms at the front face onto a busy road so opening the windows wasn't really and option.
- Harvey (9/5): Excellent place, very clean, convenient and comfortable. - Location and cleanliness. Parking is very tight.
- Harriet (3/5): Never again! - Proximity to place where I had plans Booked early check in for 1pm, didn't receive access codes until 1:30pm after sending texts to the numbers I had for them and trying to call and message them via booking.com. Room was absolutely boiling because the radiator in the ensuite was broken and wouldn't turn off, I had to leave windows open all night so was quite loud from the nearby main road. Weird ticking noise all night. Mattress was clearly well-used and could hear the springs with every movement. Walls so thin I was woken up around 6 or 7am when other visitors started moving around - not the visitors fault as they weren't being loud, sound just really travelled. Parking was awkward to get out of due to very limited space. Also very expensive as despite requesting early check in was not informed of £14 extra charge until the day before at which point other options with parking weren't available so I couldn't cancel and book elsewhere. Will not be returning.
- SimonB5851 (4/5): Little more than a glorified hostel. - On what planet is this a 3 star hotel? Don't be fooled, this place is more like a hostel.
The room was clean and functional, but more like a student digs than a hotel. I stayed here out of necessity, but found it overpriced (£114 for the night) and disappointing.
You can hear every word and footstep of people walking down the narrow corridor outside the rooms, which at best is an irritation, at worst will wake you from your sleep.
The car park is tiny and awkward. Anything larger than a Fort Fiesta and you'll struggle.
- David (8/5): - Can only comment on our overnight stay. Located a bus ride in to city centre.Good check in details. Straightforward. Knew parking was limited and tight (I'd Google mapped before booking) but we got in despite 2 football matches on. Our room on ground floor was ideal for us. Clean spacious. Didn't use WiFi or tv. Would use again. Had to send photo id for booking, not a problem so did so. Checked emails on day for access. Nothing. Text them they couldn't find our id email sent 10 days prior Resent id. They immediately sent me details. Then straight forward check in.
- Stephen (10/5): My stay at the River Rooms was an all round pleasurable experience. - Its in a great location, right beside Trent Bridge cricket ground. The communication from the host, the instructions and the ease of access were exceptionally good. The room was spotless, well appointed and very comfortable. The bed was outstanding. Nothing
- Sukhraj (3/5): Overall good but the bathroom/ toilet had a awful smell to it - Comfy Bathroom stank as soon as we walked in after checking in. Smelt like someone just used it before we walked in.
- Tyler (10/5): -
- Mansue (9/5): Good serviced rooms - Nice and clean room in good location. Would be nice to have a ramp for suit cases at front door entrance.
- Chris (7/5): - Location No hot water in bathroom basin
Carpark difficult to use
- Paul (8/5): - Comfortable room and great location with parking
- Michael (7/5): Everything fine except obviously the fire alarm. - Location ideal for cricket at Trent Bridge Had to evacuate the building for a fire alarm at 5.30am on Saturday morning. Security took 20 minutes to get to property.
Said it was caused by someone in a basement room who had set off smoke alarm and happens every now and then the last one being at 3am. Needs sorting out some how.
- Shirley (10/5): Great location- will be back! -
- Arron (8/5): Clean and tidy no complaints about the property other than noise from room above all night - Clean Noise all night from room above
- Michelle (9/5): - Location was perfect for us as we were there to watch Nottingham Forest play! There was nothing that we didn’t like!
- Laura (7/5): Very clean, comfortable stay in a convenient location. - Easy to find, handy location and clear instructions for check in. A bit too hot, couldn’t turn radiator off in the bathroom.
- Kim (1/5): - I don't know as we couldn't park
So we had to drive home
- Kelly (10/5): Easy to find, value for money - Easy parking and easy to find. It is about a half hour walk into the city center but there is a bus stop right outside. Fantastic for the cricket and football grounds The heating was on full blast. It was so hot but I expect in the winter this would be perfect
- Louise (10/5): - Lovely room comfortable beds very clean and spacious rooms
- Casey (4/5): Disappointing it was too cold with no way to turn the heating on. - It was clean It was really cold in the property we called the host 3 times to ask about heating with no answer and we also sent text message that had been read but no response.
- Birney (8/5): -
- Victoria (5/5): - Secured building and clean The booking said whole apartment however this was a room in the basement and its more of a student type accommodation with a shared kitchen.
- Dan (10/5): Excellent stay, great value for money - Very clean, and spacious. Nothing
- Tracy (8/5): -
- Michael (7/5): -
- Jill (9/5): Very good stay in a large comfortable room, ideally located. - Very clean room in an excellent location. Plenty of room for three people to comfortably stay
- susie (8/5): - Location is perfect
Easy to access, check in and out
Large living room and bedroom Sofa bed was hard and uncomfortable
Got woken up every time someone came back to hotel
- Sheena (1/5): DISPAPPOINTING. - VERY UNPROFESSIONAL HOUSEKEEPING ..POLISH CLEANER AT THE PROPERTY...SHOUTING ..VERY RUDE...FIGHTING..I JUST WANTED TO KEEP MY LUGGAGE ..THIS LADY SHOUTED AT ME VERY BADLY...MANY TIMES...THEY ARE VERY BAD...THIS IS NOT A GOOD PROPERTY AT ALL VERY UNPROFESSIONAL HOUSEKEEPING ..POLISH CLEANER AT THE PROPERTY...SHOUTING ..VERY RUDE...FIGHTING..I JUST WANTED TO KEEP MY LUGGAGE ..THIS LADY SHOUTED AT ME VERY BADLY...MANY TIMES...THEY ARE VERY BAD...THIS IS NOT A GOOD PROPERTY AT ALL.. BEWARE OF RACIST POLISH WOMAN CLEANER....I LEFT IMMEDIATELY...
- Harvey (9/5): Very clean and tidy, comfortable ideal location. - Exceptionally clean and tidy, comfortable bed great location. Right next to the football stadium and Trent Bridge cricket ground Wetherspoons just down the road so ideal for breakfast. There is parking, but it’s limited and very tight if you are in a large van there is nowhere to park okay for a smaller car or small van.
- Chris (6/5): -
- Pat (7/5): Good location, room was clean and tidy, very happy overall. One comment is the parking is very tight -
- Emma (7/5): Good - Good location Room 1 noisy when people coming home, a lot of street noise, parking now an issue
- IZ Building Limited (9/5): -
- Tony (10/5): -
- Lisa (6/5): -
- Jude (9/5): Would reccommend - Great value, comfortable room, easy check in Parking out back was very tight, even in a small hatchback
- Sandra (9/5): -
- David (8/5): - The Kitchen. To be able to warm food and borrow some cutlery was a great help. Thank you. Signs to direct to room numbers would be a great help! When tired with bags, it's not that obvious to find which way one needs to go.
- KAYE (7/5): always pick to meet my son in a nearby pub - convenient location
- Meena (10/5): - Great accommodation specially self check in 🙂
- David (9/5): - Place was clean, kitchen well equipped. Parking was tight, not enough spaces on the first night.
- Jane (10/5): - Great place and great location.
- Marsham (8/5): - Easy self check in Parking was tight
- Nonsindiso (1/5): -
- Leanne (7/5): - The room was very clean and spacious. The shower is lovely and location is great The car park is incredibly tight. Really struggle to get in and out when there are cars in there
Had no check in instructions. Had to call a few times to try and get the code to get into the property.
- June (8/5): - Breakfast not included.
Location was just outside of city on a busy main road.
C9mmunication with staff very polite and pleasant. Parking was a little cramped.
- Helen (9/5): -
- Regan (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): -
- Mark (9/5): Great location very clean - Good location Nothing
- Tour52338807191 (4/5): Cold & uncommunicative - Very poor communication both before our stay and during. The heating wasn't working and there was no interest or reply when we contacted the various numbers/email addresses we were given. We spent almost two hours in the McDonald's over the road waiting for the heating to come on which it never did. The photos suggest this place is more luxurious than it is.....probably more suited to a student traveller or backpacker than a couple celebrating a special occasion. Our ground floor room had big windows looking out onto a busy road so we needed to close the blinds in the daytime so we weren't on show to the street. There were broken tiles in the bathroom.
- richard (7/5): -
- Mark (8/5): - Location
- Haley (10/5): -
- Jess (10/5): I had a lovely stay, will definitely come back and also recommend - Clean, easy access to everywhere Early check out
- lyn (9/5): Excellent value with parking too - Location Top floor with cases without a lift
- Rosemary (10/5): Would recommend - Very clean, spacious room, location for the football ground and places to eat and shop for basic supplies was excellent. Parking was limited
- Emily (5/5): Great value - For the price it was actually really decent. It wasn’t like the pictures but it was a good value cheap night. Communication was absolutely shocking! All call rejected and I was lost for quite some time driving round but the post code didn’t take me to the property.
- Tanner (10/5): -
- Claire (8/5): Good value for money and a clean and tidy apartment. - Clean and great location for visiting family nearby. Bit noisy at night due to people having a good time along the road outside. (It was Christmas Eve!)
- Laura (7/5): Great place to stay - The room was very clean, and the little tea and coffee set was a good addition. Good entry to the building made it quick and easy. The bedding on the bed had rips on the corner. The tv remote didnt work properly. The toilet was a pain to flush.
- Whiting (10/5): Great Place To Stay - A great place to stay, everything was set up really well. The communication was so handy and convenient. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Nothing
- Cowler (7/5): - I liked the price of the apartment I didn't like the bed as it was very uncomfortable and when we got there the room was cold as the heating didn't work but it was eventually resolved
- Paul (9/5): - Location and comfort A little tricky parking a van
- Yoane (9/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): Will stay here again ... - Great location, normal place stay to meet friends for Christmas do in West Bridgford, easy walking to town. Had a noisy couple above , up and down stairs till early hours , not the owners fault just annoying.
- Becky (3/5): Do not book if you want to be warm or if you want to sleep - The only score given was because the room was clean and the bed was comfy On arrival in the rain with my partner who is disabled...after being told there was ample parking, there wasnt any at all. I called the number only to get a text immediately saying we are in a teams meeting sorry yet they processed to still text me to say you need to find alternative parking then. I said its quite bad that noone is calling me and i asked for several calls and didn't get one.
Once we found parking we got to our room and it was freezing the radiators did not work. I messaged again and they said they would fix it. They did get luke warm at the top but stayed cold all night. The traffice was awsul at the feont of thr property too, barely slept!
A very cold and disappointing customer service stay!!!!!
- Mark (9/5): Perfect for what I need. - My 2nd time here, ideal location to attend the football as I travel down from Scotland for match days. N/A
- James (7/5): -
- Tony (8/5): - Great value, super clean and comfortable Parking not clear - there was a large carpark behind an adjacent property which I wasn’t sure related to River Rooms or not - no signage. Very limited parking otherwise. Front door so stiff I couldn’t get in and had to call the property twice before realising it just needed a firm boot to open it. Once finally in, everything was more than fine!
- Oswald (8/5): met expectations. - N/A Key boxes...not very good semi bracken
- Norbert (8/5): - Location
- Péter (8/5): Nice and clean apartment on a good location - The location of the apartment was perfect for us. Good and easy communication. Clean rooms. Good and quick reachable pubs, stores, restaurants. City center and railway station are 25-30 minutes walking. Our apartment was rented for 4 people, but the second bad was not really for 2 people and not really for sleep. If you book it for only 2 persons than the score is 9/10.
- Neilson (7/5): - Location and parking.
- finlayella (10/5): Attended Game - Stayed just one night,to attend a Forest game couldn't have been any closer to the stadium, was given a basement room which was spot on ,clean and warm key code and key box where easy to excess, don't be put off by the bad reviews, for the price it was great will be differently stay again.
- Harry (6/5): -
- William (8/5): -
- Cameron (10/5): Great stay — highly recommend - I had a great experience at River Rooms Nottingham. The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Check-in was straightforward, communication was clear, and the location was perfect for my plans. The building was quiet and felt well looked-after, making the stay really easy and enjoyable. Would definitely stay again, highly recommend. The only small piece of feedback I have is that Booking.com didn’t make the security deposit clear at the time of booking. This wasn’t an issue for me, and the deposit was refunded promptly with no problems at all,but it may be helpful for future guests if the platform showed this more clearly.
Overall, I had a great stay and would happily return. I’ll also consider booking directly next time for the best rates.
- Zahra (5/5): -
- Shoheb (8/5): -
- Nazma (7/5): - Clean spacious rooms. Good price. Detailed emails (except for code details - see below) Not clear on when the codes would be sent. Instead of saying on the day maybe specify 1 hour before checking perhaps. As we stayed during Xmas night and 100 miles from home; I was getting anxious about not being able to have anyone to contact if something went wrong or not being able to get in. I texted them an hour before check in to say I haven't received the code & that's when I got the email with codes. If I didn't contact, when would I have got the details?
The humidifier kept flashing.
The toiletries in the shower had hand-wash and bodies wash. There was also a hand-wash in the sink. I think one was suppose to be Shampoo? Refills are good but need to be in correct bottles.
- James (10/5): - Only stayed for one night to attend a function at Notts County so the location was excellent. Easy access and a very clean room. Always enjoy staying at the River Rooms. Nothing to report.
- Adam (8/5): - The location & facilities Narrow stairs, no lift, was hard dragging heavy stuff up and down, also, noise from other people from the other rooms.
- John (10/5): -
- Matthew (4/5): Wouldn't recommend - The location was only a 5/10 minute walk to pretty great restaurants and bars, shopping etc. There was no parking available at the venue, despite the booking email stating free parking was available for all guests. Rang the provided number 4 times, no answer. Got a generic bot reply saying they were in a staff meeting, but offered no assistance in solving the issue. Given that the location is fairly busy, parking elsewhere was not an option (as well as for safety and security reasons). This meant we were forced to drive around for hours until eventually parking was available (at 7pm...for a 3pm check-in!)
No lifts are available, which meant we had to lug our 25kg suitcases up narrow, rickety flights of stairs, and a veritable maze of fire doors and hallways.
Finally, the toilet in the room was filthy, and smelled as though it had been used right before we entered the room (which unfortunately filled the entire room, meaning we were forced to leave pretty much as soon as we had checked in, just to get some air).
Overall, this was by far the worst accommodation we had in England. Unless you're only planning on staying for a night or 2, with no luggage, and no vehicle, steer clear!
