Guest Reviews
- Suzanne (10/5): - Lovely quiet cottage near to Haltwhistle. Everything you need for a comfortable stay.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - This was such a sweet place to stay with our family. 2 very comfortable bedrooms that easily slept all 5. The onsite laundry made our traveling that much easier. Location was a dream! In the country, on a working farm, surrounded by peace and nature!
- Ben (10/5): Exceeded expectations - Amazingly accommodating . Felt right at home immediately and such a great spot for nearby tourist stuff. Chuffed to bits with the stay and price too
- Marie (10/5): - Beautiful views from the cottage. Working farm so cows mooing! They weren’t noisy at all! Stunning garden with chairs and table and BBQ. Two showers and two toilets in a double and twin rooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Relaxed weekend stay - Provided everything needed for a quiet weekend getaway.
- Suzy (8/5): Lovely cottage, even lovelier welcome - A wonderfully warm welcome and a beautiful little cottage in the Northumberland countryside near Haltwhistle. If you’re after a quite, comfortable escape as a couple or small family, this is a great place to stay.
- Alastair (10/5): - Excellent location for visiting Hadrian's Wall.
A very warm welcome when we arrived - the wood burner was on in the living room and there were fresh flowers. Eggs, milk and home made shortbread were waiting for us in the kitchen. Lovely touches all.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - My children and I loved this cosy cottage surrounded by beautiful landscape. The cottage was very clean and had everything if not more than what we needed.
A box of fresh eggs, milk and shortbread were laid out for our arrival. The log burner was smashing and we really enjoyed playing boardgames and reading round the fire.
The children loved watching the cows and lots of information was provided to us by the owner about the cows and their calves.
We enjoyed watching the stars on an evening because the skies were so dark, no light pollution, fantastic. We enjoyed Haltwhistle and Hexham and had some great adventures out in these local areas.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Homely cottage in a rural setting - Lovely cottage, well equipped and very homely. Kitchen small but perfectly adequate for our needs. Had a wonderful stay, will return!
- Katharine (10/5): A great find! - The cottage was beautifully presented and spacious . Everything was planned for a super self catering holiday, and the flowers, short cake, milk, tea and coffee were really appreciated. A lovely place to relax and unwind, the kids took full advantage of the great wifi.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely cottage, great hosts - Lovely clean and cosy cottage with walks from the door and a lovely local pub within walking distance. Homemade shortbread on arrival was a lovely treat. Highly recommended
- Janet (10/5): Wonderful stay. - We were delighted with our stay at Hillis Close Farm. The owners are very welcoming, the cottage is cosy and comfortable. We were three adults and two small children. We had a great time and would recommend this cottage to everyone. Thank you Dorothy and Alan.
- Peter (10/5): Lovely Cottage good location for Hadrian's Wall - We arrived late to a very cosy welcome on a cold night thanks to the kindness of the owner preparing the wood burning stove for us. We needed somewhere with good access to the Roman wall and this was excellent for that. Quiet, well-equipped and very clean and comfortable. Perfect for us.
- Steve (10/5): Wonderful place! - Lovely welcome, a peaceful place, we really enjoyed staying here and have recommended it to family.
- anthony (10/5): Thanks for a lovely stay - What a lovely place! Ideal for our family, tastefully done but still child friendly. Very welcoming hosts who were attentive without being intrusive. Some thoughtful extras (like yummy marmalade) really made a difference. The farm location is safe for kids and peaceful, but only a short drive from Haltwistle. Overall its an excellent base for exploring the South of Northumberland including Hadrian's Wall. We plan to book again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Wunderschönes Cottage, ruhig gelegen, ideal für Ausflüge zum Hadrianswall
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely cottage - Lovely little cottage...the fire was lite when we arrived making it nice and cosy...and there was a welcome gift of fresh milk n eggs and homemade marmalade ....
