• Kei (10/5): すごく素敵です!! - 昔ながらの建物必見！！造りも装飾も凄すぎます。玄関棟と宿泊棟の間には山が一つあって専用のトンネルで繋がり古き良き時代の風情ある宿です。どうぞどうぞ、ノスタルジックな世界に迷い込んで下さい(´∀｀)
• Peter (8/5): - This is an older ryokan with onsen. We enjoyed the quiet as well as the baths (which we had mostly to ourselves), especially the outdoor one under a full moon. The 2 meals we had were traditional and both excellent with tasty seafood dishes. Our room overlooked a central garden pond with a view of the hillside above. We slept wonderfully. This is an unusual stay in a location with an active past, now faded, like stepping into an old film where the guests have left. Facilities described are from previous decades and it feels like going back in time. Still, our tatami room opening onto nature was just what we wanted. Others may find the faded atmosphere not to their modern tastes. We found it intriguing.

• 奥田 (7/5): ただただ温泉が好きな人向け - 建物が特徴的で、最初怖いと感じたけど凝った造りは今時珍しく、今後も維持して欲しい昭和の栄華の名残を感じる宿だと思いました。 内風呂の熱い湯、露天風呂のぬるい湯、子供は熱いの苦手なので両方楽しめて良いお風呂でした。 部屋のトイレが温便座＆シャワー付になっていて快適でした。 広い迷路のような館内でポットのお湯を持ってきてもらうのが心苦しかったですが、すぐに持ってきてくれて、皆様親切な対応でした。 蒸風呂と打たせ湯が使えなかった（打たせ湯は湯が出ているが弱い）のが残念でした。

• KaiChun (7/5): 穿越時空的住宿；隔音不好；附近沒餐廳 - 是一間蓋在山中的溫泉旅店，從櫃檯到房間需要穿越山體才能到達，很特別的體驗。因比較老舊，沒有電梯。住進去的時候，彷彿走進時光隧道，來到江戶時代的場景，一切的一切，都像極了大河劇場景，從溫泉、休憩區、牆上的海報可以看到當時盛況。 可惜將我們安排在兩間連在一起的房型，隔壁凌晨才回來，講話聲音很容易聽到，我們還用手機請他們安靜，希望可以在桌上放「22:00以後請降低音量」等警語。附近沒餐廳，建議是有自駕者在入住。可能剛好在房子的邊角，wifi訊號沒這麼好。

• Ai (2/5): - 歴史のある建物なのは理解していますが、掃除が行き届いていない、設備不良だらけな事を考えると素泊まりでこの値段はあり得ないです。 ・温泉のシャワーの温度設定が出来ません。 ・素泊まりなのに21時消灯なので早めの夕飯にしなければならない（お酒は飲んでられない） ・コンセントが2つしかない（間隔が狭いから2つ同時に刺せず、結局1つしか使えない） ・洞窟の下のタイルが滑って転びそうになる ・廊下の電気消されて真っ暗 ・布団、座布団シミ多い ・トイレのドアが閉まらない ・隣の部屋のくしゃみまで聞こえる程壁が薄い ・貸し出しVHSは10分100円の有料 ・トレーニングマシーンがある部屋は薄暗く（部屋の半分は電気が消えている）、埃だらけのマシーンも有料。無料のものはほぼ壊れている ・廊下に日本人形がズラリ。オルゴールを流していて気味が悪い ・ロビー隅に座っている着物のお婆さんに腰抜けそうになる ・お茶が古く変色している ・災害用懐中電灯付かない ・部屋名があるのに客室が赤字（数字）で手書き （掃除は行き届いてないですが）お風呂のお湯は良かったので、誰かが建物ごと買い取って経営者が変われば、存続出来るであろう。非常に勿体ない。今の経営者は不備など直す気持ちも無さそうなので、このままでは客の増加（リピートは絶対無い！）は見込めないと思う。残念です。 色んな所に泊まってきましたが、歴史に残る【気味が悪い旅館】。忘れる事のない経験にはなりました。

• makoto (6/5): - 古き善き昭和の旅館でした～。かなり古い木造建築なので常識の無い人間がいると騒がしくて最悪です。
• Jun (2/5): - 設備が古いことは構いませんが、清掃が行き届いていない印象でした。食事は冷凍のカニや刺身よりも近海物の安価なものに手をかけて頂く方が私はありがたいですね。
• Nguyễn (10/5): Good price for ryokan - The cozy atmosphere of the japanese style ryokan. The onsen is huge. The decoration is beautiful. The bed is fluffy for a good sleep. I slept straight 12 hours The bathroom and toilet is quite small. Is a little far from attraction (Rendaiji station is a little bit remote area)

• Niclas (7/5): Good - Very authentic experience in a traditional but original Ryokan. The futon was very comfortable and the room spacious. The onsen was pleasant and spacious, including an outside bath. The price was fair and convenient. Overall we recommend this place. Communication with the staff was a bit rough, make sure to contact them beforehand to decide the check-in time because they will be waiting for you.

• Chitra (4/5): Disappointing - The onsen water was good. It was dusty and I got allergy. It is old and great building but more efforts should make to it dust-free.
• Cormac (6/5): A charming little old-school ryokan. Like stepping back in time! - This place has so much personality. Walking from the front of house towards the guest rooms is like stepping into a supervillain lair - down a literal tunnel through the mountain! That and the maze-like warren of corridors made this a very curious and unforgettable stay. The spa was also nice, and I had it to myself every night which was great. The property is a little dated. Thankfully the toilet in my room had been modernised and renovated so bonus points for that. But if you're not put off by some old-world charm, then this place is a good one to consider.

• Neha (9/5): Superb - Even though the property is old but the room and all was very clean. All old people run the place but are really helpful and sweet. The bus stop is 10 minutes from the property. Everything was good.
• Peter (9/5): A wonderful historic gem in Izu. - Kurhaus Ishibashi Ryokan Is a very special and unique ryokan. It is over 150 years old and is amazingly interesting. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and did as much as they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Across from the ryokan is a car park with ample spaces. Our room had a traditional tatami floor, equipped with a tv, fridge, shower and a recently renewed toilet. The spacious men’s and ladies onsen each had three inside and one outside bath with authentic onsen water. Due to the age of the ryokan it is as expected, more than a little run down, but we found it clean and the owners and staff came across as doing their very best. We had a really pleasant and fun stay at the Kurhaus Ishibashi Ryokan and would really recommend it to other travelers who would like to experience a traditional and historic ryokan in a convenient location in Shimoda. However, after reading some past reviews, the ryokan has its fair share of disappointed customers, mostly dues to its cleanliness and its evening curfew. Therefore, think carefully before booking a room, if a more modern hotel is desired. Nothing, it was all great, but guests must be careful of the occasional low ceiling and unexpected step. I’m really looking forward to staying again.

• Iuniu (6/5): - Overpriced. It would have been overpriced even with dinner and breakfast included; they were not. The impression of tiny inn is misleading: from the atmospheric lobby a long and sinister corridor leads to a labyrinth of rooms, on several buildings and levels. Since these rooms have no baths of course the only communal bath is perpetually cramped and crowded. The amenities inside the room are old but clean and the room dimensions were as advertised. No view and no tv. No need for it either: the walls were so thin I was able to hear my neighbors on both sides. A good point: the toilet was new. A very bad point: both the tea recipient and the hot water bottle had rust spots. A first for me.
• TK (2/5): - お盆かつ直前で取れる宿が少なかったので値段と場所だけ見て予約しました・・・ 建物が古いのは仕方ないが、全体的に暗くてカビ臭い。 古い防空壕を利用したようで、洞窟のようなところを通って部屋に行くため自然光が少ないが節電のためか建物がどこも暗いので不気味な印象になってしまっている。 和式トイレとか、テレビの100円入れるシステムとか、ベープマットとか、ほとんどの設備が古く懐かしいを通り越して笑ってしまう。 シーツはリースのようなのできれいなはずだが、布団も古く全体の雰囲気から清潔感を感じられないようになってしまっている。 中庭に池があるが、清掃がされていないのでドブに近く虫が多い。 隣の音が筒抜けで、夜中の2時過ぎまでうるさくて眠れませんでした。 ご老体のみで運営されている様子で、男性は一生懸命されているがエントランスに座っているオーナーらしき女性は感じが悪かった。 予め決済してから行きましたが、入湯税は別途現地徴収でした。 自分は割とどこでも寝られる人間なのですが、途上国で一泊1000円で泊まった宿の方が寝心地よかったかな・・・
• MAYUMI (2/5): - 当日空いているホテルに夜７時頃連絡したところ、ネットでは受付は22時まで可能と書いてありましたが、電話で女将から、台風でキャンセルが出たから、空いてます！もう20:30には閉めるので、早く来てください‼️と言われ、二歳半の子供と夫婦で行ったのですが、追加で子供代金を追加されるは、代金を取ったのに、バスタオルも浴衣さえ子供の分はなく、女将の横柄な態度できたことをとても後悔しました。とても暑い部屋で、仏像と日本人形は飾ってあるは、ハンガーやクローゼットはかび臭く、ポットにはお湯ではなく水が入っていました。
• surfin (2/5): - スタッフの対応は悪く、施設は古く、全てか湿気まみれでした。 素泊まりで8000円で泊まりましたが、1500円であればまだ納得は行く感じです。 それでも再度泊まりたいとは思いませんが。。。
• akira (2/5): 最低、最悪 - 部屋に大量の虫が穿い布団の下まで入っていた。窓際には死骸がみっしりと溜まっていて、部屋の変更は出来ず、布団や荷物がある中で、殺虫剤を撒いて掃除機をかけて終わりでした。窓の鍵やトイレのドアも閉まりませんでした。窓の外はゴミ屋敷状態で換気もままならず、カビ臭く、布団や浴衣も湿っぽい状態でした。非常口や火災報知器、消化器、案内も何も無く、危険な宿でした。夜は下田の居酒屋で時間を潰し、朝６時にはチェックアウトしました。下田には二度と行きません。こんな宿を紹介するサイトも利用しません。

• ゆっきい。 (6/5): 伝統と癒しの昔なからの旅館 - 静かでゆっくり出来る旅館。温泉は、内湯と露天ともに気持ち良く入れます。 ただし建物や設備は古いので、新しく設備の整ったホテルに慣れた人には物足りなく不便に思うかもしれません。 今回は素泊まりでお世話になりましたが、車で10分も行けば食事や買い物も出来るので不便は感じませんでした。
• ひーさん (4/5): 大正・昭和の時代のホテル - エントランスロビーは、建設当時のままで、メンテナンスもよく、風格もかんじます。 近くの、吉田松陰の隠れ宿も、行く価値がありますよ。・・・スタッフトークがすばらしかったです。 客室も頑張ってはいるのですが、スタッフの慣性が、今の時代の宿泊施設設備とのズレが感じます。

• Shota (2/5): 人生史上最低最悪の宿でした。 - まず、私は潔癖症などでは全くありません。外でのお手洗いも普通に行けますし、電車の吊革なども全く気にせずに触れます。そんな私の感想です。まず、部屋に入るとものすごいカビの臭いで気持ち悪くなりました。とても古い建物の上に全く清掃整備がされておらず、内装、備品などまあ状態が酷すぎます。部屋においてあったポットはサビや汚れがものすごく絶対に触れたくありません。布団もシミだらけで気持ち悪い。その上風呂に通じる扉を開けると全長15cmはあろうかという巨大な蜘蛛が出現、部屋を颯爽と駆け回ります。その蜘蛛は従業員の方に退治して頂きましたが、もう眠るどころではありませんでした。電気を消して暗闇で目を閉じるなど恐ろし過ぎて絶対にできないので、テレビと電気を付けっ放しにして、朝まで寝ずに虫が襲ってこないか周囲を警戒していました。温泉、という名のお風呂場の管理もひどいもの。虫の死骸が転がっていました。急に決まった旅でロクな調査もせずにこの宿を予約してしまった自分の愚かさを心の底から悔やみました・・・。ひとときの安らぎを得るための小旅行が大変な疲労を伴うものになってしまいました。みなさん、絶対にこの宿はやめておきましょう。
• S (2/5): terrible all over - This is the first time to write a review on expedia but I feel like I have to voice my opinions here. First of all, the room I stayed at was completely different from the picture. The room was much smaller, smelled like mold grew in old tatami mat. When I checked in the people at the hotel didn't help me with putting my stuff away, instead they just told me to fold the baby stroller. There's no ventilation system in the toilet, nor the bathroom. We didn't even bother to use the private bathroom belonging to the room. We couldn't stand being there too long, therefore I cancelled the stay via expedia after first night. They didn't let me cancel the rest of two nights, I had to come back to stay for another night. To make things even worse after I went back to the hotel, they told me that they actually charge 1500 yen for a night for a baby, which was not explained to me at all when checking in. I asked them why all of a sudden the fee wasn't charged via expedia but the hotel staff only repeated saying everything was written on the expedia page. I complained this matter to expedia and they negotiated for multiple times, yet no success. The whole stay was uncomfortable and irritating. I would not recommend this hotel at all.
• Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible ryokan - They do not advertise their 9pm curfew on Expedia. There is black mold growing into the rooms in multiple locations. Room smells musty and moldy.
• Verified traveler (4/5): - 古いとは思っていたが、予想以上だった。 冷蔵庫の中のドリンク類は沈殿していて、期限も切れていた。 部屋にドライヤーもなく、ブレイカーが落ちるとのことで貸し出しも無かった。 清潔感はなく、もう利用はしない。
