If guests wish to dine in the hotel please contact directly for the options available. Please note that, while the property has a elevator to all floors, some rooms still require to go up and down stairs once out of the elevator. Please contact the hotel directly if you require a room by the elevator. Renovations: Please be aware from the 29th May 2023 the Hotel will undergoing Maintenance work and decorating on the exterior the building. This may cause disruption to views as well as some understandable noise during the preparation stages. Please note the car park has limited spaces. It is on a first come first serve basis, and it cannot be reserved.Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. W9823YYsamanthah (2/5): Rude manager - Poor quantity of food and very unhelpful management. I am a regular at this establishment and have never had such a bad experience. I ordered the vegetarian lasagna and asked if it comes with chips to be told “yes” chips and salad, as I said good thank you as I don’t like the garlic bread they often come with? When the food arrived, it turned up with one with garlic bread one without both with salad NO chips. Called the waitress over she apologised, but said they don’t come with chips? Even tho we’ve been told otherwise, then asked what we would like we said refund please as we shall go to the thatched cottage, as they are amazing and come with chips! The waitress still apologised and said yes to the refund, but would have to get the manager, 10 minutes passed no manager? Then he turned up “Anthony” was nothing but blunt, stern, and no people skills being a manager, he asked the issue? We told him? He said no to the refund saying the waitress is no manager! He asked what he can do to resolve this? We simply said we wanted chips with it, as said they came with it? He said no you have to pay for them. He offered to make the meals again as they are now cold, but as don’t come with chips? No point? I asked what about an alternative? Straight blunt no. He’s rude and not like the other lovely manager the man who is often around, he’s put me off coming over as much and as for hot meals in future it shall be thatch cottage all the way. Also portion of lasagna was tiny, I’ve never had a child’s portion there before! Thatch twice the size (genuinely is)

Evening meal and breakfast were scrummy and well presented. A comfy bed. Surprisingly quiet location. Conveinent parking opposite the hotel, first come basis. We spent a night passing through Lowestoft on a huge charity bike ride. Thank you all.

Val (10/5): A thoroughly enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend - The location of the hotel was excellent on the sea front, with a well kept promenade within a couple of yards from the hotel. The buffet breakfast was really good with a choice of a cooked breakfast or a continental breakfast. The staff were very friendly and professional, and the hotel was kept clean and tidy. We had a few meals in the hotel and we were not disappointed with the quality of the food. There was nothing to complain about

Dasha (1/5): Awful non stay in a sweat box - The room was spacious and had sea views The staff did not show concern when we complained about 27C heat in the room. Even after a couple of hours of switching all heaters off the room was unbearably hot. Our 2 children were suffering from overheating. Another room was offered which was also too warm. Manager refused to give discount or refund after complaining. We went home and did not stay the night after 3 hours in the room with exhaustion.Manager only explained that preferences are given to elderly customers their main guest base who prefer sweltering temperatures in the rooms.

Rooms are tired, carpet needs a clean. Hairdryer is in a drawer of dressing table in front of a mirror but to use it you have to move furniture to allow plug to fit socket. Stick on soap dispenser in shower, fell off wall as is cheap domestic one not fit for commercial setting.

We turned, and was asked for bank details, when I questioned about this, I said it wasn't in booking com. They said it was there policy. We have stayed there in the past, and we havent been asked about this. It's is the same if you stay in there lodge over the road.Do your homework before booking for this hotel. We want be returning again.

My room was a single box room, bed was wall to wall , along a wall. The room next door had creaking floors that sounded like it was in my room. The floorboards in the hall outside my room also creaked loudly and I had traffic from 5am which disturbed my sleep

The food was lovely, especially the Sunday carvery and is very good value for money and breakfast is freshly cooked with plenty of options The room was very clean and tidy but in need of some TLC but the hotel is currently being refurbished so in time all rooms will be updated. The bed was a bit hard but that's just my personal opinion. Other than that everything was great
maz6423 (8/5): Sea Views, Good Value and only a Few Small Details to Polish - We stayed in the Elizabeth Suite and overall felt it offered very good value at £135 including breakfast. The highlight of the Suite is undoubtedly the view. With both front and side sea perspectives, the suite feels bright and open, and the outlook over the promenade, harbour and coastline is genuinely lovely. Watching the boats come and go and the changing light on the sea was a real bonus. The room itself was a good size and appeared fairly recently refurbished, with a comfortable large bed and plenty of plug sockets. There is no air conditioning, but a fan is provided and heating can be adjusted. Free parking across the road is also a plus. We dined in the restaurant using a voucher, and the food was perfectly pleasant with a good menu selection. Not exceptional, but enjoyable and reasonably priced for a hotel setting. Breakfast was included and overall was good. The sausage on the traditional breakfast was particularly nice and the toast was done exactly how I like it. The buffet offered a decent selection. A couple of small omissions (such as no mushrooms and only fried eggs available with the traditional option) and a few minor signs of wear in the dining area slightly detract from the overall polish, but as part of the room rate it represents fair value. There were a few small details that could be improved , the listing mentioned robes and slippers for the suite, which weren’t in the room The towels were not bath sheet size and the quality could have been better. Toiletries in the room were limited too, but none of these were deal breakers. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Overall, this is a comfortable seafront Hotel with excellent views and good value pricing. With a little more attention to finishing touches, it could easily feel a notch higher. We would consider staying again, particularly at a similar price point.
GrandTour32938203124 (8/5): Family get together - Stayed for one night recently and the room was very clean but in need of some TLC. However, There is a programme of refurbishment currently ongoing. The Sunday carvery is delicious with lots of choices on offer. Can't fault the staff, they are all extremely good at their jobs and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely stay again in the future
Deborah (8/5): - The location is fantastic if you love the seafront, and the restaurant, bar and outside area is very nice. Once you get upstairs, the rooms are adequate but a little tired and definitely need a little. It's definitely worth getting the Seaview rooms as it is lovely to hear the sea at night and have that wonderful view in the morning. The rooms are a little tired as are the corridors and lift. They are definitely clean and adequate though.

DrDebJa (10/5): Good stay for business trip - I enjoyed my stay at The Hatfield for a week. Friendly staff, good food with large portions and reasonably priced. Anthony and the crew were great! Cozy but comfortable room.
652pearlb (10/5): Winter stay - Beautiful seaside views. Bar and restaurant gives generous food portions for an affordable price. Food freshly prepared to order. Rooms are comfortable and fresh towels daily. Anthony was handsome and friendly staff. The rest of the staff were lovely, attentive and helpful.

Lindsaystock (10/5): Afternoon tea 10/10 - Booked the library out for a friends afternoon tea surprise hen do. This room is perfect and decorated so classy. They allowed us to go in early to decorate with balloons, banners and pictures. The table was well laid out with everything we needed. Offered to help us set up and get everything in order. The afternoon tea itself was lovely with plenty of sandwiches, fruit scone and 3 different cakes which you could tell was all homemade and tasted amazing! We’re certainly full after that with boxes provided if we wanted to take any home. Unlimited pots of tea was also a lovely added extra (choice of coffee too if we wanted). Special thanks to Anthony, Hansley and our waitress Grace for making the afternoon go without a hitch, joined in the laughs and ensured we were well taken care of. Will definitely be back! Food, service and the view were all 10/10
Melissa (7/5): I would stay here again. - Everything was all clean in the hotel room I stayed in. It was very quiet on our first evening but the second evening was very noisy. The shower didn’t work properly as well as the pressure of the shower was like a dripping tap
Robin (6/5): Convenient location. Rooms basic but clean. Dining facilities and menu only average. - I asked for good black-out curtains and these were provided. I asked for a quiet room and this too was provided. Room and bathroom were clean and there was a lovely sea view. Short walk into town. We would have stayed for dinner but there was nowhere to escape the incessant piped music. Sometimes customers just need a quiet space even though the staff will turn the music down i.e over breakfast, occasionally silence is preferred. Breakfast itself only average - fried egg was hard, toast cold. Bed was rather lumpy.

Wendy (9/5): Great stay will return if beds are improved - Staff were very friendly .Breakfast waitress was lovely .Chef was friendly and our waiter (steven I think ) was great Bed was the worst we have slept in .Very small and hard .We booked 2 Delux Seaview rooms but wasn't sure if the ones we got were deluxe. Didn't want to a fuss though.
Mark (2/5): Old and tired rooms and hotel held together by excellent staff. - Locality, seafront Room 114 - Poor room quality, banging sound from toilet fan all night disturbing sleep, threadbare, poor decoration. Heavy walking traffic outside room in hallway along loud creaking floorboards. Not staying again as not value for money.
Stephen (8/5): Ideal seafront hotel for visitors to Lowestoft. - Clean and comfortable room with a lovely sea view. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast in a large lounge overlooking the sea and promenade. Perfect location for our visit to Lowestoft. Car park across the road from the hotel. (Car reg must be registered on arrival) Short walk from the harbour to the North and a lovely promenade to the South, lined with colourful beach huts. Restaurant area opened into lounge area, so seating for breakfast for hotel guests was unclear.

I think the standard of hotels in the area are about par - Breakfast was a bit odd, you had to ask for hot food, toaster was useless ended up with warm bread! The sea view was the best bit, the evening meal was very nice and the bar/ restaurant was a really nice comfy area So dated! Except the bar area that was lovely. Felt like the lift was going to give up every time I used it. The room was nice a lovely view, but the bed and mattress needs replacing

francineb955 (4/5): Disappointing Christmas Day Meal - Wanting to try somewhere different for our Xmas Day meal this year we thought we would try this venue. Whilst the view from our table was lovely - overlooking the beach. The food was very disappointing indeed. The starter of prawn cocktail was nice enough, my husband had sticky pork belly which was too sweet for his taste. The traditional main course was rather odd. Meat was nice but there was a strange selection of vegetables etc, one of which we couldn’t identify. It was a concoction of slimy bacon, onion and something else. The pig in blanket was tiny, no traditional veg like sprouts etc. the roast potatoes and parsnips were dry and unpleasant. Nowhere close to enough gravy so the meal got cold quickly and was extremely dry. Both dessert options were clearly bought in and were BEYOND sweet! So much so we left them. Not great communication from staff either. We had to find our own way to the tea, coffee, mince pies etc. No table checking carried out for us but it did for others. All in all we felt it was incredibly over-priced given the quality of the food. We have learned our lesson and will return to our previous venue which is cheaper, more convivial and the food far superior. We hope this review will help future customers and the hotel management alike. As it was Christmas Day we decided not to make a complaint and possibly ruin the day for those who had tables close to us.

Anya (5/5): - Very close to my venue. This is the only reason we booked the room as I don't drive. Very Small pokey room, tired & very dated?. It's very pricey for what you get and not really worth the cost.
