Great massage services open until midnight was a nice surprise! The 3 private onsens were wonderful to use as visitors with tattoos.

Angela (9/5): Relaxing and enjoyable tranquil stay.... - The room I reserved is the larger one with its own private onsen/hot spring bath (there’s also a version with a regular bath instead of hot spring water). There are two public onsens, one of which includes a sauna. Since each onsen has separate male and female sides that rotate twice a day (I think), you can actually experience four different onsens during your stay. There are also three private outdoor onsens available on a first-come, first-served basis, and each is spacious enough for 3–4 adults. In the lobby, there’s complimentary coffee and a drink machine. Snacks are served between 6–7 PM (one night they offered grilled mochi), and ramen is available from 10:30–11:00 PM. We were so full from the kaiseki dinner that we didn’t even get to try the snacks or ramen! Overall, it was an relaxing and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

The spa facilities are amazing. Spent a lot of time in the private spas and the public. We didn’t get the private in room spa It was very easy getting the 3 shared private spas. They are first some first serve but there was at least one always available for when we needed one. The staff is fantastic. They are very warm and welcoming. The breakfast and dinner menu are a must. Only provided you with one towel per day.

Michal (10/5): - Exceptional local experience - the hotel was full with Japanese guests - and rather oriented on their nationals which made the stay even more special - you could really soak in the culture, food and traditions. The food was just exceptional - the serving looked like art pieces, the freshness of fish and other products was just outstanding. I loved that the breakfast was also kept in traditional local way - so be aware it includes fish dishes - you may better book a mainstream gentrified places if you are not ready to try how locals eat in Japan - or just stay home. Despite some language barrier the team was extremely helpful and supportive when I asked for some help with planning my Kintoki Mount hike. I was lucky to stay in the part which was not renovated yet - it gave some vintage vibe and it was unbelievable to see how well maintained the room and all amenities were despite their visible age - I wish they would keep it that way but apparently the rooms in the other building were already newly renovated. All snacks (ice cream, warm snacks, tea and other drinks) available after relaxing in onsen made it even more special. The free shuttle from the hotel to the station was spotless and perfectly on time. Thank you so much for this special experience I could have in Hakone - I was honored to be your guest! ありがとうございます Some reviews of other European guests shock me and made me laugh - perhaps they should either stay in their countries and not travel, or accept that fish dishes won't be prepared the same way around the world (especially in Japan) as they are in Spain, Portugal or Italy - sorry not sorry.

Kwok (7/5): Can be better - Newly renovated so it is very clean and comfortable. Room is super big and nice setting. Food is good but a bit too much, we can’t finish so it’s waste. Hotel is quite big, we need to use different lifts to our room, with luggage is difficult. Also hot spring, it had two in different building. Concierge staff need more training to serve customer. When we arrive hotel, the girls non-stop speak Japanese, we answer in English, but she still continue Japanese, ignore us, just want to finish her job. When we left, the boy stand in front of the hotel but didn’t help us to bring the luggage to the car. This is not Japanese standard.

Stefan Bogdan (10/5): - I would give this stay an 11/10 if I could. It was easily our favorite experience in Japan. The highlight was the three outdoor private onsens set right in nature. They were absolutely incredible and a must-do! The food (both breakfast and dinner) was exceptional, and our room was spotless, quiet, and featured a lovely balcony view. On top of that, the staff was incredibly friendly, the massages were wonderful, and the amenities were top-tier. We also loved the beautiful yukatas we were able to rent. Everything was perfect!

Bow (9/5): 食事も温泉も大満足 - スタッフの対応が丁寧で、食事もとても美味しく、館内やお部屋の雰囲気も落ち着いていて快適でした。温泉も良かったです。一点だけ、温泉入口付近で待っている人がいるのが少し気になる場面がありました。貸切風呂は予約制があると、より利用しやすいと思います。

Chabeli (9/5): Super relax, heel erg genoten! - Wij vonden de kamer echt fantastisch, die was echt enorm. De onsens waren ook heerlijk en schoon. Er zijn 3 prive onsens, en 2 grotere openbare met 3 baden elk. In de openbare onsen worden de dames en heren gescheiden. Er zijn ook rustruimtes waar gratis water en ijsjes liggen. In de lobby kan je ook verschillende drankjes gratis nuttigen en er is een snack en een late snack ergens op de dag. Het personeel is erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk. (Sorry de foto’s zijn gemaakt toen wij de accommodatie verlieten, vandaar de rommel) Als je hier boekt zit er standaard ontbijt en avond eten bij. Je kunt kiezen uit 2 soorten dinner en er is 1 soort ontbijt, alles is traditioneel Japans. Helaas is er maar 1 soort ontbijt.
Baylie (7/5): - We liked the options for private onsens and the size of the rooms. Was a peaceful atmosphere at the Mizunoto. During check-in it was not communicated to us about needing to reserve a table for dinner. All reservations were booked up with no options around the ryokan for dinner. When we asked the staff what for suggestions in the area, they said “there was nothing around”.
Jennifer (9/5): Wonderful location in nature, Large public onsens and quaint private onsens. Food was superb. - Staying at Mizunoto was exactly what we needed while travelling between kyoto and tokyo. While the insuite bath/onsen wasn't exactly what we were expecting, it still met our needs and wants. The large public, indoor onsens were amazing, while we'e experienced better private onsens at other locations. The food served at the restaurant during all of our meals (breakfasts and dinners) was amazing!! I honestly wish I could eat more of it right now, especially the sukiyaki. Outdoor onsens could benefit from including a washup/rinse off area so that you can clean yourself before and after use.
Jacobo (8/5): - Building was immaculate and well maintained. The hot spring areas were lovely and very relaxing. The hotel is embedded in nature making the views from the hotel really nice and relaxing.
Jérémy ou Emilie (10/5): Une bulle de bien être pendant notre séjour japonais - Tout! La chambre familiale était magnifique. Nous avons vécu une bulle hors du temps au milieu de notre séjour. Les onsen privés était magnifiques, les publics également. La demi pension permet une découverte kaiseki incroyable ! Se reposer sur la terrasse devant les bambous avec les pyjamas prêtés après un onsen, le summum de la détente avec leur petit thé vert froid citron miel à volonté. Vraiment si j'avais ça en France près de chez moi, j'irai régulièrement y faire une pause .

Melinda (9/5): - We absolutely loved staying here, it was a real highlight of our Japan trip. The room was spacious and very comfortable, which made it even more enjoyable. The private onsen was incredibly relaxing, especially with the beautiful mountain views. The staff were so lovely and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. We also really enjoyed the meals each morning and evening. Overall, it was an amazing experience and we would definitely return!

Annamaria (10/5): Esperienza unica! - Hotel con Onsen a circa 30min di Bus dalla Stazione di Hakone. La fermata del bus è a pochissimi minuti a piedi dalla struttura ma nonostante ciò c'è una navetta dell'hotel che ti porta alla fermata. Con il bus puoi girare le principali attrazioni della città! Hotel bellissimo, con Onsen sia pubblici che privati (2 Onsen Pubblici divisi tra uomo e donna e 3 privati) Stanze molto spaziose, la nostra aveva due futon e la vasca nel terrazzino. Abbiamo pagato 450€ una notte con cena e colazione inclusa tipica Giapponese e accesso a d onsen.

Jean (8/5): Very enjoyable. We lucked out getting to see Mt. Fuji. - The rooms are very comfortable and clean. I realize it's a cultural difference, but I would have appreciated black out curtains for the windows. This is not a deal breaker for me. The 2 Onsens were both very nice; very clean; enjoyable. As westerners, we found the Japanese breakfasts not very much to our taste. Clearly very well prepared, but eating a lot of fish first thing in the morning is not that appealing. I'm sure that the Japanese customers loved it. Appreciated the coffee in the lobby. Property is located in a nice setting within walking distance of 2 train stations and some local attractions. Recommend. Would have preferred some different options for breakfast. Would have appreciated black out curtains for the windows.
cc1ca8944da1715394c59b05966549cf (10/5): An amazing experience and opportunity to recharge - Staff were very accommodating. Kaiseki dinners were great, with the kitchen staff explaining everything perfectly. Onsens (both private and public) were great, with complimentary refreshments being a great bonus (coffee milk, yakult, ice cream). Massages were incredibly rejuvenating, and easily booked via the front-desk. Shuttle bus from the ryokan to the station was incredibly convenient. Minor complaint - the private onsens have an indicator for whether they are occupied or not. Unfortunately, the indicators depend on the other guests locking the door to the onsen when they are using it. I walked down the outdoor path to the furthest onsen in the rain only to discover that a family was occupying it - they had forgotten to lock the door. Having a way to force other guests to activate the indicators before they can use the private onsens would be great.

La situation géographique est tres bien aussi. Les petits déjeuners japanese style peuvent être un.peu surprenant pour des occidentaux (poisson grillé, pickles...)

272d04ccc7067264b147e8ba50544a11 (6/5): A lovely experience, yet some things to polish! - The location was stunning! They had a shuttle service from the station and back which was very handy! The garden and paths to the onsen were beautiful! And the ammenities were really nice too! The typical pajamas were soo comfy! We are trying to locate the same style to take them back home. We also rented a Yakata for the day which the staff very kindly helped us wear correctly! We were under the impression that our room bath was a natural water spring bath, however it was made known to us that it was just a standard bath. We had a typical low dining table in our room, but were not able to be served meals there due to hygiene reasons… not sure why to keep a dining table in that case then. In terms of dining and our kaiseki dinner experience, I would rate is 6/10. The server who attended to us was the rare exception of Japanese hospitality… quite shrude. The food was OK, a bit too much and the traditional rice was not good at all. If you’re staying for breakfast, know that you’ll have a typical Japanese style breaker - sushi, grilled fish etc :)

Very satisified in terms of the onsen experience. The surrounding area is not the most scenic for pictures or walks. The food itself was alright but not exceptional. The food spread looks great on picture as it is so colour and lots of it as you would expect from a Kaiseiki meal, but taste itself is very average.

The staff was not as friendly as we experienced in other places in Japan (esp. During dinner and during check out) other touchpoints were on. Dinner in the evening was not amazing, coming from Europeans so maybe not the best reference (8,800 yen pp)
