Guest Reviews
- Margaret (10/5): Perfect! - This hotel was absolutely wonderful! We booked last minute after having a horrible experience in another hotel in the area. The room was clean, comfortable, and very charming. The lady that greeted us was lovely, and it wasn't far from the front!
- Nicola (9/5): Stayed here several times, great location, easy to park off site and quiet - Excellent location and great value You get good value
- Robert (10/5): Local, friendly and a great base to see Great Yarmouth, would stay there again in a heart beat! - A great local location, Edward was very friendly, lots of hot drink choices in the room, nice and clean and warm,
- Michael (6/5): -
- lee (8/5): plenty of parking clean rooms very close to the beach nice staff very enjoyable - nice location clean rooms friendly staff what more do you need would have liked a beer in the room in the evening
- Karen (10/5): Perfect - I am doing this for my mum . She loved staying the people there are so friendly and helpful. It was perfect, every time she goes there to rest and get herself better after illness .
- Karen (10/5): Excellent, brilliant good - As always, a very warm welcome from a lovely young lady. I also got my extra quilt that I asked for, but in the end didn’t need it because it was so warm and cosy in there loved it so much. I would change nothing about this beautiful place I stayed
- Karen (10/5): Perfect every time quiet no trouble around the neighbourhood very near beach - I’ve stayed five or six times at this place and each time it is absolutely amazing so clean
- Philip (10/5): Nice room, nice location. -
- reginald (4/5): once bitten - shower was good , bed very comfortable but as for rest less said better , stuck in 1940s . everything except shower & bed .
- Ocean (4/5): -
- Baker (9/5): Great stay lovely hotel - Lovely hosts, clear and valuable information given on arrival. Lovely room clean and comfortable some bottled water and biscuits in the room with the usaul.coffee tea and milk. Was nice extra. So closed to the beach and we had a sea view from our window. No parking on site but the road in.front was free parking. Great value.for.money Thank you
- Kim (6/5): - Nice room but small , very small toilet and shower. Was noisy one night as cars raced up the road at 03:00. Good and swift reception.
- Gillian (10/5): Brilliant stay thank you, plenty of coffee and milk - Clean and comfortable Nothing
- Dale (10/5): The lady’s were perfect … nothing was too much trouble both welcoming and great fun with it - Great location… food was perfect nothing ever a problem
- Cook (7/5): Dated but clean and near to the sea etc friendly staff - No breakfast but nice cafe near by
First night we had noisy upstairs guests which cannot be helped.
Nice having extra bits in room water etc. Would have been too small if we had to spend more time inside on a wet day.
- RICHARD (8/5): - Clean, comfortable room. Excellent location
- Rumel (1/5): Great yarmouth in whole was nice. But the "hotel" wasn't - Didn't like anything about the hotel. It wasn't a hotel but a run down home. The decor was so old and everything felt dirty. Definitely not worth the money we spent.
- MICHAEL (7/5): -
- sophie (5/5): -
- Hayley (8/5): - The beds were very comfortable, very clean, we have never stayed in a hotel as a family of 4. It was a bitter sweet visit for us due to circumstances. The host was amazing. We couldn't find the basement to eat our food, but that's probably our fault. The host did say to ring the bell, but I didn't want to bother him at 8pm at night.
- Jayne (8/5): - The owners were excellent, lovely people The bathroom.. very tiny, lucky we are all small. Maybe a bigger person would have struggled
- Cheryl (3/5): Very poor for the money although reasonable price - 10 minute walk from beach Noise from people upstairs. And next door
Dirty shower and taps
Out of date coffee and uht milk
- Nicola (8/5): -
- lee (8/5): Great, Gt. Yarmouth - I made a mistake thinking an apartment/flat?, just a room, family room spacious, double bed, bunk beds, shower, toilet, tv on the wall. 15 mins walk to main beach, high street and 30 mins from Joyland adventure park.
2 piers with entertainment and a massive indoor crazy golf over 2 floors and themed. Theatre and shows, not as many as back in the day!!
- Pete (9/5): Lovely little weekend stay here in this property. Will no doubt come back. - The room was very clean and tidy in which are my first requirements when staying away.
The bed was comfortable and done the job for the one night stay.
Location was a short little walk from the seafront.
- ed (7/5): -
- meagan (8/5): A lovely clean room. - Great view, good location and lovely cleaning staff WiFi intermittent.
- mohamed (2/5): -
- tania (8/5): Great for a short stay. Everything is accessible in just a short walk and we would recommend this Hotel for a stay in Gr - This property is situated just a short walk from the beach and the attractions.
The owner was so friendly and gave us a lovely recommendation for breakfast on the beach.
The Room was spotlessly clean and supplied with water and some snacks.
We had a lovely stay and will be coming back again. There was nothing we didn’t like. Everything was great.
- Hughes (8/5): -
- Barry (8/5): Brilliant night away with the dogs, would recommend. - Location was excellent and the room was spacious.
- Boddy (10/5): Perfect location, competitive price, clean, comfy beds - Location, perfect for the beach / promenade and getting around other places we wanted to visit
- ROBERT (8/5): -
- Paul (6/5): - I only chose this property as it was described,which was totally misleading,had I known the true facts I would not have booked.parking available,not true.Breakfast available for a fee,no food at all.Pool/billiard table,table tennis,there was nothing.it was just a room.
- Natalie (10/5): - The staff were amazing and so understanding about travelling with a group of 9 people never once complained about any noise we made with young children. Will definitely be staying again
- David (6/5): - The room was small, but okay, the shower was way too small. You could barely stand in it.
- Zhanna (1/5): Will not recommending staying - We felt like in a school and constantly being watched :( It's good that they have a quiet time from 9pm-9am but we were asked not to use fan in the toilet for long as it's noisy. This was a bit uncomfortable as you always have to remember little things like this. No food or alcohol allowed in the rooms. Dogs stay free which is good thing. We couldn't find a family room so have to pay extra as apparently they had a family room but it wasn't on the web site. The hotel is in need of renovation, as the facilities and furnishings are quite outdated. Not worth £120 a night.
- Klaudia (8/5): -
- Isabella (10/5): Highly recommend - Nice clean comfy bed, great location, easy to access Really enjoyed the stay- can't fault anything
- Jay Szawatkowski (9/5): Wheels fest weekend - Everything else Due to the fact that myself and my partner are on the larger side, we did find the bathroom to be a little snug
- keith (10/5): - Had a lovely few days stay
- Juli (7/5): Great & less that 200meters from the Ocean - The WiFI was free & great service,
Staff wonderful & cheerfull
I was given extra cold water *as that's all I drink*
1st time that's gas happened in any hotel I've stayed at,
Also on ground floor from my disablies 😁🍸❤️ Everything thing was there to suit my requirement
- Nick (8/5): -
- Paul (6/5): Nothing special but OK - Like Yarmouth and many seaside towns, the hotel has seen better days, the shower had very weak water flow and the stay does not include breakfast, this wasn't a problem for me as I was out early on the days of my stay, the owner directed me to a nearby cafe if I required breakfast. There was a prominent sign of do's and don'ts that would lead me to conclude many of the guests are workmen, and homeless/migrants housed by the local council. There wasn't any problems of noise or other annoyances, it was basic, average and was just about OK which reflected the price.
- Jackie (9/5): - Near to the beach and not far from amenities.
The room was clean but a bit dated.
Plenty of tea/coffee provided and clean towels every day.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Property was really nice and walking distance to everything would highly recommend…
- Jonathan (10/5): Thanks from Krystal and her human - Nice, peaceful little break and value for money paid. Manageress was very polite, 5/10 minute walk from seaside and town. Parking was on street but didn't find it issue and dog friendly.
- Bryan Clifton (10/5): Family Getaway - I came with my family and our dog, and I liked that the hotel was clean and the host was very welcoming. The location was in the perfect location. Just that the room didn't have a microwave and a fridge to keep cold drinks ect but all in all we were satisfied
- Christopher (8/5): - Nice place close to beach.
No hot water from tap, despite complaining twice.
- lee (3/5): - Room was cold. Shower awful. Could feel every spring in mattress
- Rob (10/5): -
- Geoffrey (7/5): Thoroughly enjoyable. - Nice and clean quiet location and plenty of parking space. Bathroom a bit small with a poor shower. Would have been nice to have breakfast served but then again no rush to get up before set time.
- John (7/5): - Room was very basic but clean
- Beck (6/5): -
- Mike (2/5): - No breakfast. Ample tea and coffee. Cleaned well Bed wobbly. Hot water tap produced only tepid water. Electric shock from switch. Management grumpy. Shower poor flow. Rules from 1960s probably last time it was decorated
- Rob (10/5): -
- Zak (8/5): Small and basic but clean and very friendly - I got a lovely warm welcome and basic info about the local area upon arriving from Eddie, it felt like a very personal touch The next morning and each morning thereafter I met Ana who greeted me by name and was extremely friendly, funny and warm.
The room its self was very basic, but it was clean and light with nice fresh bedding and I was offered fresh towels and a cleaning service/top up of bottled water, biscuits, hot chocolate, tea and coffee daily, on that subject NEVER at a hotel, either expensive or budget have I been given so many complimentary hot drinks, im not talking your usual 2 Teabags, 2 coffee sachets and 2 little milks, there was a basket absolutely full, like 10 Teabags, 10 coffees, 20 milks, around 30 sugars etc, plus bottled water and biscuits, this was replenished daily and was EXTREMELY generous and a wonderful touch.
Anna gave the impression that nothing you asked would of been too much trouble and my dogs definitely liked her which tells me something.
The shower was perhaps the easiest shower to use that I've ever been in, if a little small
The place its self was super quiet which I liked, I thought I was the only person in residence! Never heard a soul other than the kids next door in their garden. It was a short walk into town for supplies and the main drag but away from it enough to not be over busy. Infact, the beach at this end was much much nicer AND I pretty much had it all to myself. The beach was 2 minutes away, you can walk along the soft sandy beach if you go left for miles and miles and miles towards caister, scratby and hembsy avoiding the blackpoolesque arcades and bars all together. There really was nothing down this end other than the beach, the water gardens and a few little coffee cabins/cafes on the beach. That's just how I like it.
Great yarmouth it's self is quite run down, but this area seemed like the nicer part. The only thing missing for me was a bedside lamp... stubbed my toe on the corner of the skirting getting up in the night to turn on the light to go to the bathroom... .ouch...I couldn't swear because it was after 9pm quiet time ha ha ha
The ensuite was very small, could not close the door to go to the toilet. This can't be helped though it is what it is.
Not a smart TV, however I always travel with my amazon firestick so that fixed that issue.
- Peter (4/5): Good , Except for the bathroom. - The location was good, away from the noise of the amusements but not too far to walk. Housekeeping was friendly and efficient. Parking was easy and near to the Property. Bathroom was tiny, would be very difficult for anyone with limited mobility.
- Dougie (3/5): Not good - Clean room Smells of sewage
- anonymous (8/5): -
- Jacob (1/5): Terrible i got kicked out as i was on the phone and talking loudly and they instantly threw me out rather than asking me - Nothing. Tacky, old and decrepit needs refreshing not worth the money there is better places for cheaper in the area!
- Annika (8/5): -
- Craig (5/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): - Clean and tidy bed for the night, everything we needed for a couple of nights away
- dale (9/5): Value for money, lovely property - Location was great and the staff were Bert friendly, rooms were nice and clean, value for money Nothing really
- Bent (9/5): -
- Lee (5/5): -
- mark (7/5): -
- Nadine (10/5): We enjoyed our stay, the owner was kind and helpful - Lovely room, clean, plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits each day. Tv didn’t work. Not enough power points an extension lead plugged without individual switches.
- Marc (10/5): - Very friendly very clean. Right near beach
Would definitely stay here again x
- Darren (10/5): - It was an absolutely fantastic hotel! So close to the seafront & town centre. 5 minute walk if that. The staff was so friendly & was more than happy with help with any questions we had! Highly recommend
- sharon (10/5): - single bed you could feel the springs
double was to soft.
- lucy (8/5): Nice stay with short walk to the beach - Friendly owners, clean rooms with good facilities Double bed was slightly uncomfortable as it felt like the mattress was lower/well used on one side.
Bathroom fan very loud.
- Bernadette (6/5): -
- Bex1284 (8/5): Lovely host and great room - The host was wonderful and moved us to a different rm due to disability and stairs. She managed to help us move closer when we'd had to park right down the other end and also brought our bags up to the rm. We were also given a fan when it was very hot. Can't fault her at all :)
The room was lovely, it was clean, the bed was comfortable and the location is perfect, less than 5 mins to the beach. We went down to the beach and had breakfast at the beach hut every morning (highly recommend)
The only thing to keep in mind is the parking, although its free on the street outside, if you move the car, chances are you'll be parking somewhere different when you come back, but even that we found was alright... the weekend was the worst time, after that we parked no problem right outside. There are disabled spots dotted around the free parking area as well, which was a godsend at times. The bathroom was very cramped, not their fault though, as they aren't allowed to change it. It was still usable and we managed to do what we needed, but had a few bumps lol
- Leon (7/5): - Close to the beach & town if you needed access. Can hear people above you depending on the room you're staying in. Was a person with a dog also that shot through the cieling at night.
- bahadir (10/5): - Very friendly staff
- Amanda (8/5): - Close to the amenities Beds were uncomfortable, water tasted horrible had to use bottled water to make drinks, pipes were noisy
- Eileen (9/5): Great Yarmouth, great value, great friendship - Room only accommodation, but still value for money. Meals down road at Beach hut were reasonably priced got suntan while waiting and eating breakfast. Used Kensington hotel for non fried food also reasonably priced. Amenities for dogs were very close to hotel by use of recreation ground opposite hotel and dogs can be on beach up to pier on and off lead, our two dogs Shitzu and Cocker Spaniel were in ecstasy once let off lead. All in all a lovely place to visit and stay. The couple who own the property were very helpful for us during our stay. You had to be quick and early for hot water in sink as the hotel heating system had to work for over 20 rooms
- Pallavi (8/5): Lovely spaciaous rooms, great location, Free parking and good Wi-Fi - A very well-maintained and clean room, good for a family of 4 - 1 double and 2 single beds. Nice location, close to beach, free off-street parking just in front of the property, everything else was in close walking distance - Britannia pier within under 10 minutes' walk. Lovely hosts, and good Wi-Fi zone. Rooms only, no breakfast, but the beach hut on the beach provides amazing breakfast from 9:30 AM onwards. A bit warm at night even if the window was wide open.
- KIRK (7/5): -
- Crystal (10/5): Lovely Stay - Comfortable bed , friendly staff It was hot , so a fan would of been perfect
- chris (10/5): -
- Kim (7/5): Ok whilst working locally - This property is quite difficult to categorise - lacks the personal touch and is definitely tired - needs updating. Aspects require updating and a more personal touch
- Donna (9/5): Nice hotel to stay in. - We liked that it was near to the seafront and amusements.
It was a nice sized room, comfy beds and they provided a kettle and cups to make tea or coffee. The bathroom was a little small, tight space, the exactor fan was very noisy
- mahmoud (8/5): it was a very nice experience and valuable for money, i recommend it to anyone . - the location was very nice and close to,ost of facilities liek Beach, Shopping and Resturants, also it's close to th etwon centre as you can go by walk they ar enot providing a breakfast, it's a fam;iy buisness manging by the lady and her husband ,they are very freindly but i like to have a recepttion all the time presenting in the hotel.
- lucy (9/5): Lovely value and dog friendly - Value for money and lovely for days away and big bonce was dog friendly hotel Nothing
- Banharally (10/5): - Friendly staff, close to the beach Nothing to dislike
- David (8/5): Wellesley Park Hotel - fair value - Value for money, all as advertised. Staff courteous. Room was serviced each day. Sink in the ensuite had shelf above which, given the small sink, made cleaning teeth difficult.
- Kim (6/5): - Nice property albeit a little tired and dated Needs reviving
- Helen (9/5): - Nice and quiet
- Chloe (10/5): - Come here every year and the service is always exceptional. Perfect for us as a family of 3. Our room has a beach view too. The shower is the only downside :(
- antony (9/5): - Lovely lady waiting to receive us,so friendly and helpful
- Pawel (3/5): -
- Linda (10/5): Tourist Getaway - The room was very clean and location was very close to the beach. Dog friendly. Check in was a breeze, and we recieved recommendations for food and activities for our dog. Nothing, the accommodations were perfect. Great Yarmouth was not as lively as expected and more for family than a couple. The weather was also cloudy and rainy.
- Graham (7/5): Short sweet and was clean and comfy - Location was great, so clean and friendly staff, had what we needed for our short stay. Being on the 4th floor.
- Gillian (10/5): - Lovely stay at the Wellesley. Good value for a basic hotel. Nice comfortable room. Welcome tea, coffee and biscuits. Nice big towels (can't stand the silly little ones you get in some places). Good position away from the main Great Yarmouth area but very easy walk to get there (10 minutes slow walk).Only place I've stayed in where you can't have food or alcohol in the room but rules is rules and i saw that from reading reviews before we booked so happy to conform. Would stay again. Only complaint was a very noisy fan in the bathroom which wasn't an issue during the day but at night would wake light sleepers. Finally, i was a little worried it would be noisy as our room was at the foot of the stairs but no noise at all. 👍
- James (10/5): -
- Jan (10/5): A great location, clean & comfortable. We have stayed a few times & Anna is a lovely person. - Lovely clean comfortable room & happy to have our little dog as a guest too. Plenty of tea & coffee & biscuits. Nice view & quiet street. Nothing we didn't like.
