- Lynn (6/5): - One of the reasons we choose this hotel is because they indicated that they had laundry facilities on site. There were no facilities on site for us to use. Rather, we were told that the staff could do it for us; they way this was shared with us was as a favor, not a service. We ended up with a pile of wrinkled clothes and a bill of 40 pounds. We felt taken advantage of in this process. The expedia discription should clearly indicate laundry service not laundry facilities. Very dissatisfied with this.

Manager Anna-Maria went above and beyond to make our stay here, exceptional. The owners of this establishment are fortunate to have her as their manager. Convenient seven minute walk to downtown, in a safe neighborhood. Great parking. Overall great little hotel.
- Laura (2/5): - READ BEFORE BOOKING! The hotel charged my credit that was on file a few days before checking in even though I had selected pay at property when booking. I thought ok fine it’s paid…one less thing to deal with when we get there. When we arrived the lady at the desk was extremely rude and tried to claim it wasn’t paid yet even though I showed her it went through on my card. Then she admitted they pay less fees if she runs a card in person. I again replied it’s already been charged to my card. She got the owner who was also very rude & he demanded we pay again. So I paid twice for a room that wasn’t even very nice. (Called my CC later to get it resolved) After traveling all over Scotland this was the only time I ever had an issue at a hotel and honestly the only two people I came across who were extremely rude. Definitely do not recommend staying here. Furniture is very old and outdated and rooms are extremely small. You could also hear people in the rooms next to you. When you walked on the floors the furniture would shake & rattle. The breakfast was very minimal and heard guests complaining about it. Not worth the money or the hassle and didn’t appreciate paying TWICE especially when on vacation and a budget. Save yourself the headache and stay somewhere else. Btw this is the first bad review I have ever written because I’ve never had such an awful experience like this.

- DAREN (2/5): Doubled booked and not happy - The hotel had double booked me, and I was taken a few hundred yards down the road to a guest house, Parkhill, the room was very small and during the night the house was noisy with comings and goings, my room was directly opposite my room, if I had been given notice I would chosen another hotel. I was no pleased at all to be honest, all I was offered by the Radcliffe was a free breakfast, I will not book there again it spoilt the rest of my day.
- Simon (2/5): Airless claustrophic rip off - How anyone thinks it's ok to charge nigh on £100 for a cupboard with no window and no fresh air. Stuffy, airless, claustrophic. The price I paid was advertised as a special offer so I paid £82 including taxes. I find the promotion of this price as a special offer misleading, it's barely worth half that.

The place is a bit dated, but very clean and well maintained. The location was not as easy to get to on foot as i would have liked, but I imagine if you are driving it would be a very convenient location. Would absolutely stay here again based on how kind and helpful everyone was, especially Mo.

- PJ (8/5): - This is a great place to stay if you are in Inverness. Inverness is small, so many places are walkable within the city. Although this place is a little higher up, it is an easy walk up the hill. The main market street with places such as Mark and Spencers or the transit station is about 15 minutes away, so there is no need to rush. The place is very clean. I gave 3 stars for the facility condition because it is old and flaunts it. It is an historical building, so there are creaks when you walk around the hallways, but overall, it is a very beautiful and pleasant place to stay. It is so close to Inverness Castle, which, unfortunately, during my stay, was still being renovated, so I wasn't able to visit, but I highly recommend this place. The room had an electronic tea kettle, coffee, places to hang clothes, and bathroom essentials. No mini fridge or safe that I noticed. I highly recommend this place.

- jamie (10/5): Loved this place! - I like choosimg smaller places like this one over larger and corporate hotels because you get a different experience vs big places. Redcliffe did not disappoint. They were so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The lady who checked me in was great, and two of the men jokingly pushed each other out of the way so they could be the one to carry my bags up the stairs. I loved my little single room; it was perfect for a solo traveler. It was clean, well-kept, and the bed was comfortable. I plan to stay here again when I come back to Inverness in a few months. Also, their breakfast sounded like a great value; I will have to try it next time.

People were all very nice and location is great, but we ended up in the second floor of the townhouse - a secondary building owned by the hotel. It's an older house that was converted to guest rooms. Ours was pretty small and faced the street - so a bit noisier than usual. Just be aware of where you will be staying when booking.

The room itself was spacious, and the owner was super friendly and helpful! We were able to enjoy our time in our room, but then walk to busier areas for dinner and a bar later on. The wifi was great, and the breakfast options the next morning were awesome too! We'd definitely recommend the Redcliffe if you're in Inverness!

Room descriptions/amenities should be clarified on the listing: 1) There was no indication on the listing that our room was off the main property in a stand alone “residence.” 2) Laundry Facilities - listing indicates laundry facilities are available, but we were told that it was only for residents. This is quite misleading. Laundry facilities was one of the key amenities we considered when making a reservation. 3) When we asked for an extra set of towels we were told we would be charged an extra £4.50! Really??

Tea and coffee making facilities in the room and toiletries provided. Restaurant was superb. Very high quality cuisine. The breakfast was excellent. The Omelette Arnold Bennet was delightful and there were numerous choices.
- Matt (4/5): Last minute booking. - This was booked at last minute. Never stayed before, stay elsewhere most times. I can see why this had availability when no where else in town did. I was asked on arrival if I'd like breakfast the next morning, I said I really don't know and will decide in the morning (normal at a hotel) The next morning I went to the breakfast area, the woman took me to my seat, I then checked out and she said you didn't have breakfast on your booking and you owe us £, no problem I thought. Only then to be accused of not telling them the night before about wanting breakfast. I was told it was irresponsible of me to not know the night before as she had to plan for things. I had an omelette, must be very borderline if you need to plan a few eggs into the daily budget. She demanded to know who booked me in the night before. I refused to tell as I feel that person would have been treated harshly. The basically pushed me out the door as I was rude in questioning why she is treating me this way over a breakfast. The rudest aggressive arrogant person I've seen in a hospitality position. If I owned this place, I'd have my answer as to why I had vacancies and no one else in town did. It's your manager. What a horrible woman.

The room was very hot and there was no heating on. A small desk fan was the only means to reduce the temperature a bit. Room was well furnished

- D (10/5): Nice, clean quiet hotel in Inverness - Hotel is located on the top of the hill not far from the Castle. Had a single room which was compact and bijou but was clean, comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was also clean, the shower was good and the design was really well thought out with ample hooks to hang your towel in easy reach of the shower and a basket to put extra bottles etc on under the shower gel dispensers. Welcome was friendly and check in/out was quick and efficient. Nice place.

There is no lift in the hotel so you have to lug your suitcases up the stairs. The surroundings are beautiful around the hotel. .

I wouldn’t t have booked if I knew this was the case, get the feeling they’re cashing in on the NC500 like every other hotel in Inverness!
- Roxanne (8/5): - Our room was cozy and small. Our dinner served just before the kitchen closed at 9 PM was outstanding.
- Donna (6/5): Disappointing - We were looking for a night away in Inverness, within walking range of the town centre. We found the Red life which had an executive double room, and we decided to treat ourselves. On arrival, there was nobody at reception and we had to wait for someone to appear. She showed us to our room, which was not in the hotel, but another building across the road. The room was traditionally decorated, but certainly did not feel like an executive room. Looking out of the window it seems the house next door has thrown all their rubbish onto their decking including pushchairs and kids toys. Bathroom was very small, and had an odd blue toilet seat which was loose. Shower did not work properly and was difficult to turn off. Water either freezing or scalding - no in between and couldn’t get the water to go to the handheld shower head . My husband went to reception to be told that there had been no other complaints and it must be us who couldn’t work out how to use it! We’re told they could come over to show us but we’re too busy. Given that it was one of the hottest days of the year, we were annoyed we couldn’t have a proper shower. In the morning, we went over for breakfast and again there was nobody there. We stood for a while, then left our key and went into town where we had a lovely breakfast. Not worth the extra money as in my opinion the room certainly wasn’t ‘executive’. There was a large pull down double bed as well as the king sized bed so felt more like a family room.

The bed was comfy but, room was a bit small. It’s an older hotel so that was to be expected but I did find it a bit claustrophobic.
- Kathleen (8/5): - We were in a room across the street from where we checked in. Our room was small but had everything we needed and came with a view of the river and the castle. The towel rack in the bathroom didn’t work but everything else was fine.
- Lisa (8/5): Great stay in a beautiful city - Good location, fabulous food, friendly staff. Overall a good stay. If you are claustrophobic the rooms are on the small side, at least the one we were in. The only complaint was that the shower head was broken. We made due.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The room was small, but immaculate, and the people who ran the hotel were kind and helpful. Would highly recommend.
- Andrew (10/5): - Staff was accommodating, friendly. Had a tremendous holiday stay. Food was fabulous. Very clean comfortable rooms!
- Petr (10/5): - Great hotel with a bar and a very nice restaurant. Clean, cozy & warm rooms, location is very attractive as well - at the higher part of the city, but it the same time in the middle of everything.
- Roderick (10/5): Great for the night. - The hotel was great staff the staff were friendly and helpful. We were only there for a night. We had breakfast which was £10, which I thought was good value.
- George (4/5): Profit Margin over satisfied Customer, your call ! - I had purchased a Double Room at approx. £109 but with the Redcliffe having to pay a commission then they only get approx. £90 for the one night. I was informed that Breakfast was NOT included whereas when I booked 6 weeks ago for the same price it was. I was informed by staff in the morning when booking out that if I had booked directly with them at £90 approx. it would include breakfast. My understanding is they take the booking for a Double room but downgrade you to a Comfort room without breakfast so that they make the same margins. I stay in Inverness about 10 nights pr annum for work within the NHS and I will NOT be returning to this Hotel Again, so thanks but no thanks
- Charles (10/5): - There is a separate building with rooms in which we stayed. It is just across the street. Might be a little inconvenient to go to meals in "Scottish sunshine" (i.e., rain) but rooms are large and comfortable and have been recently modernized.
- Alison (8/5): - Pleasant large rooms with nice views, comfortable beds and good showers.
- Sharon (10/5): - Was pleasantly surprised by the large space and the extras included in the room. Always great to have meals available onsite
- Virginia (8/5): - We were not expecting to have a full kitchen with our room. That ended up being a nice feature! Carrying luggage up the stairs was a downside, but many places in Scotland are like that.
