- sally (9/5): Lovely countryside, great food. - Nice spot. Great room. Evening meal in pub excellent - compliments to the chef. Mixed bag with staff. Minor improvements on levels of attentiveness to client needs would have made a great stay exceptional,
- Sillence (8/5): - Great pub and accomodation, good price
- Ezra (10/5): -
- Niki (10/5): Relaxing weekend. - Cleanliness, large rooms with king size beds, beautiful en-suite, breakfast beautiful and staff were particularly attentive, helpful and friendly.
Lots of free parking set in an idyllic village. Good location for exploring surrounding towns and attractions. Lots of rain!
- Emil Avram (10/5): -
- Bryn (8/5): Overall we were happy with our stay and would go back again if in the area - Rural location and value of money Bed a bit hard and pillows could have been better

- Barry K Vanderhoven (8/5): A night out near Alfreton - Very comfortable room. Excellent bar and kichen. Well cooked breakast using local produce ! Very helpful staff, especially at breakfast time. A small note about security. The reception was closed on arrival, so I booked in at the bar. This was not an issue, but it had not opened in the morning either. By the time I was ready to leave, the bar (where breakfast is served) was locked up, so I just left the key card at the shutterd reception.
- Kev (9/5): Excellent - Great find will defo stay again /Food 10/10 The remoteness
- J. Raymond (8/5): A pleasant three day visit - The room (Hart Suite) was excellent, particularly the bathroom. Although I would describe it as a large en suite room rather than a suite which implies at least a sitting room and a bedroom. All the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The food was rather mixed with a limited choice on the dinner menu. The dinner helpings were large but sometimes rather over cooked. The breakfast was very much better but with a limited range of cereals.
The fact that the route from the bedrooms to the dining room and bar was outside and therefore inconvenient in bad weather.
- Terence (8/5): Good place to stay - Quiet location
Very clean
Comfy beds with lots of space The breakfast is a limited continental and you need to pay £8-£12 for anything cooked

- jean (6/5): Nice day and good value for money the only issue being the. loud music on the Friday evening which kept us awake. - The room was clean. The view from the window was lovely. There was a birthday party on the Friday evening. This played very loud music and kept us awake.
- Samantha (10/5): - Room was lovely bed was so comfy Bit of a wait for breakfast

Good Breakfast
Excellent value for money A lot of people came to breakfast all at once which put the staff under pressure but they worked their way through it
Well Done
- carrianne (10/5): - liked Everything beautiful place and very friendly staff breakfast was exceptional didn't want to leave will definitely be back recommended to family
- Stephen (9/5): excellent - kind friendly staff nothing at all
- Kim (10/5): Would not stay again - Breakfast 40 minutes wait after ordering and it was cold unable to eat
- Julie (9/5): Short break - Room was a good size and lovely rustic furniture. Lovely comfy bed. Breakfast was delicious. Good location for our needs. Reception closed at 4. We couldn't find any staff around for top ups of milk and tea, as bar was locked too.
Dispensers in shower were empty.
But lovely hotel anyway.
- Chris (8/5): Great hotel in a lovely rural location. - Location is excellent, restaurant was great and lovely food too.
- Lisa (10/5): -
- sarah (9/5): -
- Hannah (9/5): Peaceful, relaxing and lovely place. - Absolutely fantastic facilities, staff were very friendly and welcoming when arrived and answered any questions that we had during our stay. It was quaint and picturesque and just what you'd want for a night away. 30 minute drive to bakewell so an ideal location. Only thing was the restaurant menu, would have like a bit more of a variety for a bit of a fussy eater but can't please everyone with that.
- Emil Avram (10/5): -
- John (9/5): A pleasure stay - Staff were friendly and was really clean The curtains weren’t great and allowed light in
- ashley (9/5): -
- Louise (10/5): Stunning location and super clean, large rooms. - Stunning location and super clean, large rooms.
- trinamary (8/5): - The area, the venue itself, the restaurant, the room. Mattress a little bit too firm.
- brian (10/5): - lovely hotel in the countryside everything was lovely
- Rod (9/5): - Everything from the Room which had all facilities and was spotless, to the Food and Drink which was Excellent ,and the professional staff No Corn Flakes or similar at breakfast
- stubar1971 (10/5): Great place to stay - The location is stunning. The rooms were immaculate and very comfy. The food was great in the restaurant. All in all, 10/10. Not much.
- Richard (10/5): - the hart suite was absolutely fantastic n/a
- Sharon (8/5): Good location exceptionally clean and value for money - Really lovely property with an excellent breakfast and good value for money Originally placed in room 115 but when opened window noise of the air con unit on the roof next to the room was noisy; asked to change room which was accommodated straight away and appreciated

- gary (10/5): Amazing. - Location, cleanliness, facilities, value for money, comfort. This place is exceptional. Nothing, completely faultless.
- Sheila (6/5): Over priced!! - Did not like the streaky bacon so fatty couldn’t eat it all all. Ordered a Americano coffee which was Luke warm. No butter on the bread. Didn’t get a choice of white or brown so again couldn’t eat it.
I paid £186 for the 1 night and expected more Breakfast choice
- patrick (8/5): - Lovely room, Restaurant and location. For the price I paid i felt the quality of the bed linen and bedding was very poor. The mattress was also very hard and uncomfortable. Shame as this is the only thing letting the place down.
- Lee (9/5): -
- Maria (8/5): -
- Linden (4/5): It was rather disappointing in a number of ways. - Good space in the room. nice quiet location but, because it's a wedding venue, it was noisy when I arrived. Hot air heating without adequate instruction to make it work. Towel rail without instruction as to how to make it heat up and stay hot. TV too small for the size of the room. Staff not around except in the bar/restaurant area (Reception closed for almost all of my 2 night stay) - this made it feel rather soul-less. I did not feel that what was offered was anywhere near the price I paid.
- Stuart (4/5): No suitable for disabled - The location was fair, The room was spacious and bed comfortable Not suitable for disabled guests especially wheelchair users. The breakfast was average, poor choice of cereal as I didn't have beans mushrooms black pudding and potato I thought they might have increased at least by an extra sausage but nothing. Making it a very small meal. To operate the bedside lamps you Twist the switch but after 3 minutes it turns off. At a low setting it stays on but flickers That could be dangerous to epileptics also there could be an electric fault. No one to report to except a cleaner. We were promised help with our luggage as i have bone cancer and chronic Lymphatic leukaemia and no lift and no ground floors in the property. You guest it no help as no reception until 10.00 hrs. None of the no lift or ground floor rooms mention on Booking.com nor their own website. We will not visit any of their hotels as I suspect they are all run in this manner
Lastly the toilet paper was useless, Yes I know but it was really really poor

- Jo (8/5): A very enjoyable stay - The room was warm and spacious and very clean. I usually struggle to sleep in a hotel/bnb but this one was so quiet and comfortable I slept well. Great view to wake up to. Breakfast was delicious. The staff were welcoming and helpful.

- Sarah (9/5): -
- Lee (8/5): Could be a great place - Such a shame, based in lovely surroundings but unfortunately run by inexperienced staff. Bed was well used, and has caused neck issues from stay.
- Daniel (9/5): Just what we wanted - Room was spotless , extras was a lovely touch
Lovely countryside view from the room. Staff friendly. Breakfast spot on to set you up for the day you can choose off the menu so not just a full english as i first thought. Also a selection of teas, cereals, fruit, pasteries, yogurts. read in reception that you can use blue light card in the restaurant I think it was 15% . Bath was big and wide jacuzzi bath. Room included hair dryer, iron, slippers , robes, selection of teas, coffees, snacks and drinks . The mattress was very firm apart from that our stay was top marks and we will return
- Susan (10/5): beautiful location, very clean and staff great. - Lovely location in the country, great pub attached with good breakfast and evening meals. great for a trip to Matlock and Bakewell nothing
- sally (9/5): Lovely property, great room, friendly staff and good food. - A really lovely property set in beautiful countryside.
Our room was a standard room but had everything we needed including an iron and board, a very good refreshments tray. It was roomy and warm with a very comfy bed! Shower was hot and powerful with good towels.
We had a meal at a party we were attending and it was very good, price of drinks also reasonable.
Breakfast was served to the table, not a big choice and was good, tea and coffee was serve yourself from flasks but it was hot and good. Our server did an excellent job very friendly and efficient, serving all the customers that morning on her own! N/a

- Wayne (10/5): - Wife and I loved it visioriting the in-laws great two days we will be bk x
- Tracey (10/5): -
- Julie (7/5): Excellent in many ways but spoilt by thin walls. Sound insulation in partition walls sadly missing. - Great setting, good standard. Thin walls! Hear your neighbours bodily functions. It’s not good and such a shame. Doubt we would stay again as we had a wake up call with this each morning. You can hear talking too.
- Nicky (8/5): -
- Neville (9/5): Great plac3 to stay for a few days to explore the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. - The location is superb, and all of the facilities available to you are very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Nothing

- Lorraine (10/5): Couldn’t fault it - staff friendly and attentive, while remaining professional. - Everything! Great sized room, comfy bed, modern bathroom, all clean. Relaxed bar area - excellent food, staff fantastic. Nothing.
- Tracy (10/5): Relaxing stay, quiet with good breakfast. Always feel pampered when staying here! - I’ve stayed before when visiting relatives. Always relaxing and very comfortable. Nothing
- Roy (2/5): l not be staying agian. - A clean well kept Hotel in the middle of nowhere but we had a party that night at the Hotel whihc was paid for seperatley Pricing of the Hotel room was steep and i thoought they took advantage of the the fact there was a party at the the Hotel. Our room was almost £100 dearer than if i booked the Sunday night. I understand there should be a differnce Saturday to Sunday night but not a £100. In fact i could have got the room £30 cheaper if i had booked on the day but to secure my room for the party i booked a non cancel room rate which was the cheapest at the time.
Breakfast was not great, the food was cold and no browm bread.
- Alana (9/5): Really enjoyed our stay - Staff were super friendly.
We had a lovely meal in the evening and breakfast was fantastic.
We had a lovely stay.
- Georgina (10/5): - It was clean and new and incredibly quiet. Checked in late on a Sunday and the out of office number man was super friendly
- John (8/5): A good stay and just as described on the web site - The room was quite large with plenty of clothes storage if staying for a week and nice to have a table and two small armchairs. Evening meal was nice. In a nice quiet area. The only downside was not having tea or coffee served at your table. It was in flasks on the breakfast bar and varied in strength.
- Philip (8/5): Would use again when in area - Very good room and cleanliness Bar closed early and no food on
- Fiona (10/5): -
