Guest Reviews
- Karen (8/5): Enjoyable - Food and comfort
- Cherry (7/5): Convenient and clean for an overnight stay - Room and bathroom very clean with comfy bed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty of free parking. Convenient location. WiFi not very good in bedroom. Breakfast a little disappointing. Cooked breakfast good but no buffet items on display except juices and cereals. No fruit, croissants or cold meats/cheeses. Did order a croissant from the menu but this was obviously cooked specially and arrived too hot to eat and the middle was still under cooked and doughy.

- Alison (9/5): Séjour très sympa - Personnel excellent. Rien

- Lepage (7/5): - chambre parfait
super parking repas moyen
ambiance pub pas terrible

- Michael (7/5): -
- Samantha (3/5): Basic room, you get what you pay for - Value for money Quite noisy from other guests and traffic. Room had outdated furnishings and really needs to be renovated.
- Rowland (8/5): Good. - Very good breakfast Rooms a bit dated.
- Alison (8/5): - Location was good, 5 mins from arundel in car, back of hotel was overlooking farmers fields with horses, cows & a footpath for walks. Staff were very nice, food was very tasty, rooms were very clean so was rest of hotel.. ample parking front & back.. definitely would stay again.. 👍 We only had a short stay, so time flew, need to book for longer next time.. the main road outside hotel was busy but then most roads are busy these days..
- Charles (8/5): - Comfortable bar and restaurant, good food and attentive staff Could have done without having the hotel bins emptied at 5am !
- Patricia (10/5): -
- Y (10/5): I WOULD LIKE TO REPEAT - FOOD WAS EXCEPTIONAL, TASTY AND GOOD PORTIONS I THOUGHT, STAFF WERE ATTENTIVE AND FRIENDLY, LOCATION WITH THE BEAUTIFUL WALK TO ARUNDEL WAS SO VERY ENJOYABLE, TOWN IS SO CLOSE BY, TOO. CURTAINS MUST BE DRAWN AT ALL TIMES FOR PRIVACY, WHICH INCREASES ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION (ON SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DAY I HAD IT SEEMED A WASTE). A SIMPLE TASTEFUL NET CURTAIN WOULD DO THE TRICK.
- Saul (5/5): Manageable - Good location It was dated and unfortunately the bed was very soft and uncomfortable
- David (9/5): - Hotel was very good but the pub side was not.
- Penelope (8/5): -
- Beverley (10/5): - Very friendly staff, great food and a really comfortable bed.
Room clean. Nothing
- Izabela (10/5): Highly recommended - Great location, very comfortable beds and the food was amazing. Classic pub food was done very well.
We also enjoyed one of their recommended walks, there are a couple of paths around and through the forests nearby.
- Stefan (10/5): -
- Alexander (6/5): -
- Pam (9/5): Lovely short break, good pub surrounded by beautiful countryside - Lovely old pub.Despite busy road wonderful footpaths available at back of car park so good location for walkers.
Great food though menu limited More vegetarian choice on dinner menu.
Dog treats bowl etc in room.

- john (8/5): Friendly and efficient staff. Ticked all the right boxes - Very clean with a good bar and restaurant. Plenty of parking
- Colin (9/5): -
- Kate (7/5): Comfortable stay in a handy location for where we wanted to be - Good convenient location, comfortable room, friendly staff Bathroom a bit tired looking
- Kiera (10/5): -
- John (4/5): Over priced and underwhelming - The breakfast, even although there was no fruit served and no marmalade. My toast came with a piece of butter
placed on top. Very unusual. Staff were offhand and unfriendly, except the young man who took our dinner order. If you don’t like people, don’t work in hospitality. I didn’t have salmon as it was frozen not fresh, due to intolerances to MSG and sulphites I couldn’t have the chicken pie, etc. I settled on a chicken schnitzel, which was the most dreadful thing I have tasted for the last two weeks. It is supposed to be a flattened chicken breast covered with breadcrumbs and fried. This was a tiny bit of precooked breast and covered with red and brown sauce, cheese and burned bacon. The chips accompanying it were good. The sauce must have had something in it that upset my stomach as I was awakened with a headache and indigestion an hour after going to bed. Somac and Zyrtec eventually helped.
- Gary (10/5): - In a lovely location & nice beer gardens.
- Heather (7/5): - Expensive room only, with no breakfast
- Val (8/5): - The room was comfortable and quiet. The staff were friendly and efficient. Being by a busy road
- Jan (7/5): Comfortable and pleasant - Breakfast was generous and hot We were in room 4 and found it quite dark, needed to have the light on even during the day
- Stephen (8/5): Good location for Arundel nice rooms 25 minutes into town - Easy to find just outside from Arundel Rural spot on busy road
Garden and outside seating
Staff friendly and helpful Acces to rooms through bar
Decor a bit tired
Evening meal options limited described as pub dining
- Bas (9/5): - Very helpful staff. Excellent food.
- Alan (9/5): a perfect stay and location at a very good price. - Nice place, people and food. for the price it was very good value so nothing to dislike.
- Ian (2/5): See above. - It was very expensive. The room wasn't that nice either and we were woken up at 6:40am by a noisy delivery that lasted 40 minutes or so!!!! I thought we'd booked breakfast but apparently not!!! The shower was poor as well.
- Alison (8/5): An excellent hotel, well placed, with friendly and kind personnel and comfortable, clean rooms. - A very warm and kind welcome.
A superb breakfast, and the French gentleman who was serving us was absolutely fantastic. Rien
- Maximilian (10/5): Perfect in a quiet, effortless way - We stayed here last weekend for my wife’s birthday — a spontaneous decision after a lovely dinner — and it turned out to be exactly what we needed. The place, the location, the staff, the room, the view… everything was perfect in a subtle, natural way. Nothing forced, nothing loud, just quietly wonderful from the moment we arrived. Nothing to mention — our experience was genuinely positive.
- Charles (9/5): - Evening meal and Breakfast were excellent
- alan (10/5): -
- Roger (9/5): - Breakfast
- Cheryl (9/5): -
- Clifford (8/5): Great value, very comfortable room and bed, and I would return if I was in the area. - Good value and high standards that would cost more elsewhere, The Staff were very helpful and the food was good - the room had everything & I suspect they maintain standards for their Wedding customers. The only fly in the ointment? My wife was furious that the family could not have breakfast because the tills were offline and we had not paid in advance. The food and the chef was there and other guests were eating and we offered cash (we offered cash and thought a note might be added later (a practical workaround - just like in the old days when people could problem solve to keep customers happy), but no, 'Thierry' was adamant it was a no so he deserves a mention. Feedback from other staff indicated that they were aware that they have a problem in that area.
- Julie (10/5): -
- Marcin (9/5): Lovely Ester 2 night stay - Very quiet n clean small hotel with good quality food
- Derek (9/5): Enjoyable and comfortable stay - The hotel was very quiet but that didn't detract at all. Comfy, clean rooms, friendly and attentive staff and excellent food. Not much - a slightly noisy bathroom fan but seems to be mandatory in hotels these days! The main road at the front can be challenging to turn onto.
- Diane (8/5): Lovely pub, good food. Shame about the uncomfortable bed - Friendly staff. Dinner and breakfast good.
Good parking
Good location to walk into Arundel Matteress was much to soft and lumpy, therefore we did not have a good night's sleep. We would have stayed a second night if the bed was more comfortable
- Judith (9/5): Wonderful find ... - The location was excellent for visiting Arundel, food was absolutely amazing , parking was good but - even more importantly- all the staff were so helpful, professional and - friendly... nothing was too much for them. Considering the very reasonable prices I am so pleased I found The White Swan very nice, I will be back !
- Sol (6/5): ok - es pet friendly Tardaron 45 minutos en darnos las habitaciones, cobraron demás y dijeron que no podían hacer reembolso, las canillas de la ducha estaban extramadamente duras, o no funcionaban
- Matt (10/5): Great stay and great staff - Perfect I liked everything

- Edward (9/5): - Our room was very comfortable and clean, all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The location was convenient for our visit to the area, We would definitely return, when needing to stay in West Sussex The stairs were a bit of a problem, but we are getting on in years!
- Bampy (8/5): - Location
dog welcomed areas for dog walking quiet at back of hotel
- Paul (9/5): - The staff was amazing
- Sian (10/5): - Everything!, Very well maintained traditional English hotel with bar and restaurant.....lovely, attentive and friendly staff The mattress was uneven, dipped at the top of the bed where it had been worn down over time.
- Jenny (7/5): We enjoyed our stay but the accommodation was a little disappointing - The staff were lovely , the food was very good and the breakfast was great The room and the en suite were abit tired and both needed a lick of paint. The en-suite was clean but a lot of water damage .
- Andrew (7/5): - Good location.
- Harry (6/5): -
- David (6/5): Pleasant but had higher expectations - Location Guest noise, draughty room
- Francesco (9/5): Family stay - Plenty of car park, great historic pub with charming atmosphere.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially with our 5 months old baby.
If you like walking a d running there are great trails just at the back of the hotel, one of which leads into arundel.
Plenty of info in the well redacted guide in your room. Nothing

- Arthur (8/5): A very enjoyable stay. - Breakfast was very good, plenty of choice. The room was pleasant. The dinner menu also offered a good choice of dishes.
We found all the hotel staff to be friendly and helpful. Loved the vegan soap etc. in the bathroom.
- Maurine (6/5): The White Swan is looking tired & needs painting. The - Breakfast was ok but would have liked some fruit salad perhaps? Room was dusty. Paint work tired & needs a revamp. Bedroom carpet needs a better hoover sprouts the skirting, the red tongue & groove wood needs dusting. Also when someone goes through the fire door to bedrooms they slam. Could do with soft closing.

- Susan (5/5): Tired and poorly insulated room - Ok
- Charlotte (7/5): - Location Bed was uncomfortable
- Joanne (10/5): Would definately stay again - Friendly staff

- David (9/5): Very enjoyable stay with pleasant staff - Very comfortable room - while the bar area had lots of nooks and crannies so it felt homely
- Natalie (9/5): -
