• emma (1/5): Poor accommodation - The street it was on was lovely and green not far to walk to common We had a room by the stairs on the ground floor opposite the breakfast room which was noisy. The room was an accessible room which we didnt need. The photos on the website and on booking did not relate to our room - it need led an update in decor. Feel like I was sold something I didnt get. Bed mattress was paper thin.

• Robert (3/5): Clean, but I would never stay there again - It was a large room. Clean. We specifically asked for a ground floor ahead of time as my wife is handicapped and has great difficulty climbing steps. When we got there, the response was “sorry we cannot do it”. What the heck is the point of booking early and getting a good rate if they could not get me a room my wife could walk to. I had to practically carry her up stairs that were so old (meaning they were small and steep) that she almost fell during her ascent. I was very upset that they did nothing. Especially when it was obvious by her walker that this was going to be an issue. We could not go out to dinner as a result of their mistake.

• Jeannette (7/5): Room was great, breakfast was OK, but a little disappointing. - Room was nice, high ceilings, clean, good shower, quiet. Breakfast was underwhelming. Cooked breakfast was fine, but buffet was not inspiring - no fresh fruit, no chocolate croissants, no hot chocolate available.

Room was comfy, restaurant was amazing - real home cooked food..delicious and the breakfast was just as good. Having parking was a huge bonus as well

• Pam (6/5): I cannot fault the staff but our room and bathroom were a bit rundown. Very few amenities as in body lotion, no face was - The extreme friendliness of front of house staff. Our room was 27 however the bed on the right side looking at it sagged and felt like I was falling out of bed.
• Martin (7/5): Overall great value for a night’s stay - Good location and parking, friendly staff, decent breakfast and room was nice too - great value overall Our room was on the ground floor in the newer part of the hotel at the back - nicely done but unfortunately the walls/ceilings are too thin, so you can hear conversations in adjacent rooms as well as foot steps, water pipes and doors closing loudly

Bar and restaurant staff were very helpful and friendly. I would suggest that if you book a table for dinner that a reserved table should be allocated as the food area can get quite busy.

• Ceri (9/5): Lovely stay - Beautiful room, nice comfy bed and the breakfast was lovely. Staff on the front desk were so lovely and the breakfast staff were too and couldn't do enough for you. We will certainly be back x perfect for a night before a cruise. Just a little note for cleaners to wipe the wall where the kettles are as there were tea stained drips all down the wall from someone putting tea bags in the bin. Minor issue and didn't spoil the stay.
• Lynda (4/5): Would not even consider another stay here as not value for money - Was very disappointed with this hotel.Obviously a cruise hotel where everyone eats, sleeps, and departs. No plug for washbasin, plaster peeling off the ceiling,could not open bathroom window ,was expecting a walk in shower not a disabled room.Breakfast was absolutely terrible.So many people crowded into a small room, almost impossible to get to a centre table to get a spoon let alone anything to eat.Continental breakfast was a yoghurt with some berries,some toast/marmalade and a couple of croissants.

• Ian (8/5): A wonderful place with really friendly staff and a comfortable room AND breakfast. Perfect. - I was both surprised and delighted by my stay here at this very central hotel. Situated on a wide tree lined avenue that leads into the city centre the hotel itself is a large house with later additions, with free car parking available too. All the staff were so very friendly and helpful, the room, although 'dated' is reflected in the great value for money given - a large(ish) room AND breakfast for the price I paid is excellent - added to which I felt valued as a guest. I would 'look forward' to staying again, very much. Nothing.

Good solid accommodation. - The staff were very friendly and helpful, arranging for a lower level room for us since we're older and had large luggage. There is no elevator. Breakfast and dinner were superb. There was no hair blower in our room. The advertising shows what looks like a property with grounds around it. It is merely the picture of one of the buildings. The majority of the hotel is surrounded by parking lot. The hotel buildings are old and show their age, however the room was very modern and comfortable.

• Kirsten (5/5): Comfortable but disappointed with quality - Spotlessly clean and staff were lovely. Bed was very comfortable The bathrooms were terrible - we were in room 34. The shower was fantastic but the sink had no plug and there was no hot water supplied to the sink. The bath had a cradle for a shower attachment but no shower. My parents were in room 2 and the bathroom was frankly dangerous. The shower attachment was broken. At nearly 90 they cannot step over the side of a bath to get into the shower and there were no handles to help them. Even at 50 I would struggle to get in and out with a slippy wet floor. The furniture was very tired and tatty. No hairdryer supplied

I'm sure we were overcharged on check out, I did question it at the time but couldn't be bothered to break down the prices individually. So in essence over the two nights we had ten glasses of white wine, large ones, I mean do they come any smaller lol. 5 pinot and 5 Chardonnay, pinot is 6.45 and Chardonnay 6.95, also had a burger which was nice and was 11.95. Grand total of 79.75 yet we were charged 112.00, these prices are on their website and in the bar. Why was this, it's a very big difference.

I had selected to include breakfast, which was a good value and included cooked breakfast on order and several options from a buffet. I have no complaint. It served well my purpose and it is in a nice area close to the park.

• Sona (10/5): The Elisabeth Southampton - Fantastic small "old times" hotel. We enjoyed the style and the "Harry Potter room" :-) Anyhow, we arrived late in the night,after the middnight, we were able to check in but with an additional fee. Our room was nice and comfortable, both the room and bathroom were large and comfortable. Breakfasts were fantastic! The staff was friendly and helpful, we really enjoyed the stay. There was parking space in front of the hotel. Meals in the hotel restaurant were also fantastic. We will definitely come again.

Close to the cruise terminals but expect delays in the taxi services if leaving your car there. The room was detached from the main hotel facilities, an extension at the back and facing the car park. The loud noise of the relentless kitchen extractor fan woke us up at 7am despite the double glazing. There was no rain during our stay but very cold to walk for dinner and breakfast in the main building dining room! The food and breakfast was of poor quality and not value for money.

• Andrews (9/5): Comfortable and clean and worth a second visit! - The Elizabeth House Hotel was quaint, clean and very comfortable. The owners and staff clearly have a passion for the house which can be felt in the décor, cleanliness and attitudes of the staff. The room was clean and fresh and every need was catered for. The temperature throughout was perfect - to the point that you are unaware of any rise or fall of temperature outside. The bathroom was modern and fresh and the water pressure was great. After a comfortable and peaceful sleep we went downstairs for breakfast and it was lovely - more than we expected and definitely worth 5 stars! We will be back! I have NO gripes but I would like to suggest that they think of putting bottled water into the rooms along with the tea and coffee.

Worse was that (like many rooms) our window was overlooking the rear parking lot. The parking lot is very well lit. Our curtain was thin and didn't block much light, making our room extremely bright throughout the night. A thicker light-blocking curtain would be appropriate.
