Guest Reviews
- Erik (10/5): - Super close to ancient Olympia. The owner is awesome.
- Adnan (8/5): - There aren't a lot of choices in Olympia. This place is a 2 to 3 star hotel in a really good location. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. AC and Wifi work well. The only issue was that we arrived a bit early and couldn't check into our room. They were ok with us leaving our bags but, there wasn't a secure room to place our bags. We were told to leave them by the front desk but, the front desk wasn't staff so, anybody could come by and take your bags. To be fair, the hotel is right next to the police station so, I was probably being a bit too cautious. Anyway, it all worked out. We went site seeing and came back later to check in and the bags were there. :)
- Inok (4/5): - In the middle of night, bed bugs bited our bodies, I found several bugs and killed.
Hotel owner apologied and refund.
- David (8/5): - Very friendly host. Good decor. Facilities mostly good. Bathroom a little bit awkward. Good stop off for Olympia. Host gave helpful ideas for onward journey.
- Chuen Luck (10/5): - I would give 6 stars for the staff and service. The manager, Damien, was super friendly and helpful. Despite that we checked in at the midnight, he greeted us warmly and ushered us to our room, explaining everything thoroughly. He also suggested us how to explore Olympia and vicinity, which helped us a great deal. The room was clean, quiet, and spacious. Location was perfect too with just a few minutes walk to the museums and archeological site. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Olympia.
- Anne (8/5): - When we tried to check in they didn’t have our reservation on the list. Luckily the manager was able to look us up and verified our reservation made via Expedia. Hotel is in an exceptionally convenient area—short walk to the site and museums and just one street up from the shopping area. The only issues we had were trying to get the room cool (took several hours), there is no hair dryer and the mini fridge is in a spot without a plug so we couldn’t use it. Staff are amazing and you can’t beat the location.
- Stephanie L. (10/5): - Close to historical sites
- John (6/5): - Let me say at the outset that there is nothing “wrong” with the property, it just doesn’t bear any resemblance to the 9.4 rating quoted by Expedia at the time of our booking. The lounge area is ok and the breakfast was fine but the whole place has more of a hostel feel to it than a guesthouse. Our bedroom was very basic and, whilst it did have the advertised bath, neither that nor the sink had a plug. We mentioned it to the owner and he just said “you’ll have to be careful”. The room also didn’t have tea / coffee making facilities and was very dated. So, as i say, nothing “wrong” per se, just lower your expectations based on the rating. Ps we were also shown a room that had been modernised but, to be frank, it was hard to tell the difference. And don‘t try to check in early, after driving for 3 hours we hoped that we would be ok arriving at 2:30 but were told to come back after 3
- Margaret (6/5): - Decent value for money.
- Samuel (10/5): Don’t stay anywhere else in Olympia - The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. The breakfast was perfect. The real star of Leonidaion Guest House is Damiano. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed warmly and with lots of laughs. We can’t recommend Leonidaion Guest House enough. A tru gem in Olympia!
- Dmitry (10/5): - breakfast was vreat, close to main attractions.
- Tracey (10/5): - Wonderful hotel and friendly staff. Great location for shopping, restaurants and sites.
- YiHeng (6/5): - It's a two star hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The lobby and hallway is upgraded, but the room could have some upgrade, including the beds
- Troy (10/5): Perfect cozy hotel when you're in Olympia - Fantastic place to stay when you're in Olympia. The museums and archeological park are just a few minutes walk. There are many restaurants and shops nearby.
My room was clean and comfortable. The bar and lounge are a great place to relax.
I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip.
- Jeffrey (10/5): Great stay! - Clean hotel. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very good - We had a good stay at Leonidaion Guest House. The location is very convenient for visiting the sights which were all within walking distance. The owner was friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable although the shower was quite small.
- Allen (10/5): - This is a fabulous property with a host who understands hospitality! From check-in to check-out, our host was working to make sure we didn’t need anything. They even started serving breakfast early when we came down into the shared space (couches and chairs adjacent to the lobby). All attractions are walkable and there is a great restaurant right next door. The police even park their cars right next door. You will love your stay.
- Linda (10/5): - The hotel was conveniently located, clean & our room with balcony had a spectacular view of the gorge.
- Kendall (10/5): - The manager was great, location was excellent
- Karen (10/5): - Damian was fantastic host. Bless his little heart (privates joke). He gave excellent recommendations and was very friendly and helpful. The property was clean and very well maintained and walking distance to Olympic site and town. WiFi and AC were great. Would highly recommend.
- Tony (10/5): - Upon arrival, met host Damianos at front desk. Told him my name and proceeded to take out identification and credit card. He said stop, everything is taken care of through hotels.com and gave me my receipt. So checkin took 15 seconds. Damianos is awesome. He took about 10 minutes is extremely useful information about tithe town and the ancient site. Rooms were very good with everything needed including air conditioning, refrigerator and updated bathroom. For price and location in Olympia, you can’t go wrong!
- Jim (6/5): - A good room for a overnight stay. Good air conditioning. Bathroom shower very tight fit and a shower curtain that will touch you as you shower, water floods the bathroom. The owner will not accomodate early check in. The owner invited us to enjoy the common area at our leisure and we did so with a wine we had from the previous night to be told the area is a bar, which was not only awkward but ruined our evening. There are polite ways to speak to guests of your hotel, nothing should be too much trouble, but selling cocktails at the bar instead of looking after your guests appears to be the priority.
- Ralf (10/5): - Great location in short walking distance to restaurants and shops. Also in walking distance to the archaeological site and the museums. Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Andrew (10/5): I’d stay again! - Although short our stay was excellent. The room, roof terrace and facilities were perfect for what we wanted, and the shower was the best of the whole trip.
Our host was great too, helping us with bags, a restaurant recommendation, and a few tips on seeing the sights. With good humour to boot.
- Brittney (10/5): - Amazing!
- Irene (10/5): - Loved the hotel and the charm! In the heart of Ancient Olympia and surrounded by delicious restaurants and shops!
- Shabana (8/5): - A clean and easy place to stay for one night. Rooms are basic and service was fine. We were only here for a short time, arrived late afternoon and left in the morning. Basic breakfast included is a plus.
- David (10/5): Olympia Greece Hotel - Manager was very helpful and provided excellent information. Breakfast was wonderful with plenty of options. Great location. Archeological site of Olympia and museums were walkable from hotel. Great restaurant right next door and other good options just down the street. Main Street and grocery store a block away.
- Kim (10/5): - Nice stay and great staff
- Mathieu (10/5): - Amazing place for the price!
- Deborah (10/5): - What a sweet guest house, staff are amazing and very knowledgeable and friendly. Easy walking to every you need.
- Anna (10/5): Wonderful stay in Olympia - The stay was great. Had the Infiniti Suite which has two bedrooms, a bathroom and large rooftop patio with lounge chairs, patio table and chairs and a hammock. Short walk to the museums and good food. The host was very welcoming and the breakfast was great
- Isabelle (8/5): - Le propriétaire est très accueillant et gentil. Très proche de toutes les attractions touristiques et centre-ville. On peut tout faire à pied. Parking inclus. Bon déjeuner inclus.
- Ruijia (10/5): - This hotel was truly spectacular. We had the infinity suite so the whole top floor was ours. The staff were very friendly.
- Kari (10/5): - First of all, you will never be more welcomed in any other place in the world like you are welcomed at the Leonidaion. Damianos is the best ambassador to his city and to his hotel. He is a great host and a fantastic bartender. The hotel is perfect for what we needed in Olympia. It was super clean, close to shopping and amazing restaurants and an every short walk to the ancient Olympic site. I would recommend this place to everyone!
- Gretchen (10/5): - Very friendly proprietor; welcoming with lots of good information for visiting the sights.
- Heather (10/5): - Host is top notch! Location is perfect for exploring the area.
- Robert (10/5): - Great host, great location. In November Olympia is very quiet, which is a good thing! Leave your car and walk. Restaurants that are open are very welcoming and the food is great.
- James (8/5): - Staff were incredible! Property was well situated. The rooms were very clean but a bit spartan.
- Byron (10/5): - The owner of this hotel is awesome! He's very attentive to your needs and a great conversationalist. He made me a cocktail and chatted. Great personalized attention you won't get at most hotels.
Also, easy parking and you can walk to the Olympic site.
- Eric (10/5): - We enjoyed the whole thing. Great restaurant just two doors down. Easy walk to the sites.
- MANUEL (10/5): - Everithing excelent
- XURU (10/5): - Friendly staff and walking distance to the attraction
- Sharon A. (10/5): - The owner is the best host with wonderful restaurant recommendations!
- Dean (10/5): - The first floor bar / breakfast area is nicely decorated. Continental breakfast was good. Also had boiled eggs. Typical European bedroom and bathroom. Located next to police station that was very quiet. Lots of restaurants in town with one a few doors down. Not located on the Main Street and close to The ancient Olympic area. Park in front of the hotel.
- Taner (10/5): Good guesthouse - Perfect for a visit to Olympia.
- Amy (10/5): - We stayed with 3 adults and had the rooftop suite. There were 2 rooms separated by the bathroom. We didn't use it, but the room had a small stove, fridge and everythimg you would need to cook a meal. The owner/manager was wonderful, recommending a restaurant 2 doors down for dinner. Would definitely stay again!
- George (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay, the host is amazing, and extremely helpful. Only issue is the street noise. Would stay there again and would recommend.
- Gustavo (10/5): Go for it! - Amazing top floor family appartment with a very large terrace and splendid views. Modern, airy, spotless with a very friendly owner/manager. Breakfast was very good. Own parking just outside and you can walk to the Olympia Ancient site in 10 minutes through a charming path
- Gustavo (10/5): Charming hotel - I got a very large double room for single use with balcony. It was comfortable, clean and the owners/manager was very helpful. It is right in the centre of town and a 10 minute walk from the ancient ruins. Private parking and nice breakfast.
- Elisa (10/5): - Wonderful, amazing!
- Kirsty (10/5): Great 3* hotel - Lovely hotel and fabulous host. Damian the owner was really friendly and gave using great tips for visiting the ruins and places to eat.
Convenient for walking to the ruins and had parking right outfrobt
We stayed in the junior suite which was basically the whole of the roof area with great views.
Very clean, had everything we needed, not very soundproof so could hear traffic noise although it much traffic but there were dogs barking from time to time would recommend ear plugs at night if you’re a light sleeper.
Great 3* hotel
- James (10/5): - Conveniently located within 15 mins walking distance to Museum and archeological site. Also owner allows car park at parking area while visiting these site which is convenient.
- Arnold (10/5): - Great please really close to the Olympia site and restaurants
- Gregory (10/5): - The location to the archeological site is amazing..walkable easily. The breakfast was good. The host is really nice and personable.
- Lauren (10/5): - We had an enjoyable stay. The host was friendly and helpful, nice breakfast, spacious rooms, and almost next door to the Olympic site. The property has been renovated with style and great care.
- Cynthia (10/5): - The host was absolutely wonderful. The place is small and cute, and very centrally located. It comes with parking! I’d definitely stay again. It was very reasonably priced.
- Charles (6/5): - The location is great for access to the archeological site and museum.
- Kaitrin (10/5): - Loved this guesthouse! The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. I told him I would be seeing the ruins the next day and he suggested I leave my car parked in front of the hotel and walk to the site. So glad I did! Was able to leave my belongings in the car as it’s right next to the police station. The site was just a brief walk away. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bed was SO comfy. I just melted into it after such a long drive! Had a delicious breakfast the next morning! If you are planning a stop in Olympia, stay here. You won’t regret it! Price is great, especially for what you get!
- Martha (10/5): What a gem!!! - This hotel was full of surprises! We stayed in the Penthouse, at the top of the hotel. We were not expecting much, as the price was extremely reasonable. Under $100 a night!! When he showed us our room, we could not believe not believe what we had! A huge deck that looked out over the town, with a double hammock for 2, a dining table and chairs, and 2 sunbeds. The room was spacious with a kitchen, a bathroom with a bathtub, and a very comfortable bed. There was also a living room section with beautiful furniture. The owner is extremely friendly and welcoming, and could charge 3 times what he is charging for this room! We will definitely stay here again. In addition, you are only a 5 minute walk from the ancient grounds of Olympia, and the fantastic little museum of Archimedes. Well worth the visit!
- Kara (10/5): Exceeded my expectations - I was pleasantly surprised at this little find. The owner greeted us personally at the door and even carried our bags. The hotel was modern and comfortable. Had a little community space downstairs that would be great for chatting with other travelers. The location couldn't have been better. We parked on the street and walked to everything.
- Andrew (10/5): - The host, Damiano, is very helpful and engaging, and keen to point out its his house for you the guest so make yourself at home. If you asking about the quote in the breakfast lounge he may tell you his life changing story. Breakfast was perfect and Olympia site10 minutes walk from guest house. His tip to visit the beach at kalogria, was great, definitly the best beach in Peloponnese; 4 mile of golden sand and perfect condition for swimming, thanks Damiano
- Jing (10/5): - The hotel manager was very accommodating to our schedule. The location is very close to the archeological site and all the restaurants and shopping. The breakfast buffet is very good.
- Sara Lee Steig (10/5): Perfect stay for exploring Olympia - Had a really excellent stay here in room #8, the suite at the top of the hotel. From check-in with Damiano and all the helpful information he provided (as well as being friendly and funny) to breakfast, and the guestroom with its own private rooftop terrace, crisp linens and equipped kitchen, and its proximity to the Olympia archaeological site, everything about this was perfect! Glad we spent two nights here instead of just one and took Damiano's advice to visit the archaeological site and museums in the afternoon, once all the day-trippers have left for the day.
Would definitely return and book room #8!
- Lynette (8/5): - This was a lovely little guest house in Olympia which offered excellent value for money. Our room was very nice and the bed comfortable. Our host Damiano was charming and very helpful. The breakfast was excellent. There was also a common room which was a great place to sit and read through the heat of the afternoon, before we went out again. We spent time at the site of Olympia (easily accessible from hotel) but also good walk down to river Alpheios and then up Mt (?) Drouvas. We also appreciated the Archimedes Museum. An exceptionally pleasant few days in Olympia, all enhanced by our stay at the Leonidaion.
- sarah (10/5): - Front desk was super friendly and helpful. Very close to shops, dining and the museums. Room was basic but beds very comfortable and very modern breakfast/ bar facility. Great value!

- Scott (10/5): Great place and location especially for the price - Friendly and helpful welcome, even got to choose our room! The room was large with a balcony, though the bathroom was small. Bed comfortable. Breakfast was limited but what was there was good and there was plenty of it.
The room itself was tired, but for the price and location it was excellent.
