- Brian (8/5): Great value traditional style Japanese hotel. Service is warm and friendly - The place is clean, and offers a simple but hearty traditional Japanese breakfast. Their Japanese style bedrooms are a bit cramped but definitely manageable for a group of four. Facilities can be a bit out-dated. Sink is a bit too low for a 6footer.
- Rafaela (9/5): I loved the traditional ryokan vibes and the Onsen, I would probably stay again! - Onsen open through the night, so we would go every evening when getting home, super relaxing after a whole day of Tokyo. The staff is super friendly, the breakfast is delicious- even if a bit monotonous, plenty of savoury and sweet options. At night the street is super quiet, we slept with the window open. It’s pretty far away from the yamanote line, so maps was always redirecting us to other lines. Also my mom found the mattresses too thin/hard, and they didn’t have extra mattresses to pile up to make the bed softer.I personally didn’t mind the beds.

- Sakutarou (8/5): ひっそりと枕元にもコンセントありますよ！ - ジャパニーズな雰囲気を感じる和室なお部屋でした。全体的にノスタルジー溢れる設備で私は「懐かしさ」を感じたので好印象でした。部屋に風呂がありトイレと別なことも良かったです。最上階には大浴場があり簡易休憩所もあるためそこでゆっくりするも良し、テラス席(ベランダ？)で湯冷ましするも良しでした。テーブルが4組＋α程度あります。朝食は一度、外に出てすぐ近くの暖簾をくぐりログイン。過不足ないビッフェ形式の朝食でした。ちょうどいい。フロント階にコーヒーサーバーがありましたが、利用できたのでしょうか？チェックアウトは12時とゆったりできるので前日に呑んでいた私には優しかったです( ˊᵕˋ ) 前述しました部屋の風呂は『となりのトトロ』の時代を感じさせるタイル張りの造りで劣化も見られます。わたしは味があって良いね！と大浴場へ行きました。シャワーは蛇口の栓を閉めると切り替わるタイプ。古い型式だったので身構えましたが、お湯を捻れば適温がでたので、初めてでも安心！知らないと火傷が怖いですからね……。館内着の浴衣は電話やポッドの置かれた棚にある緑の袋の中にあり、タオル系統は洗面台の下にありました。場所がわからなかった同フロアの外国紳士宿泊者に質問され、何とか伝えられました。異文化交流の機会をありがとう。フロントで簡単に説明があるとありがたいかもですね( ˊᵕˋ )

- Ainsley (8/5): Traditional style hotel - I loved the retro style of this hotel which is why is wanted to stay here to experience traditional Japan. The layout of the room was spacious. It offered a lot of facilities such as the public bath but with only 1 night stay I could not enjoy all the hotel had to offer. The futons are a bit thin for me so it was a bit uncomfortable. The air-conditioner didn't work very well. Some wear and tear in the room. You can't drink the tap water. The shower didn't get very hot so had lukewarm showers.

- Elle (8/5): Overall had a great stay and would recommend to others - pretty interior, very friendly and accommodating staff. smoking room on the same floor as ours was useful. location is very useful for walking to nearby trains, food and shopping areas air conditioning was very weak at first, however the last two nights of our stay it started to work again. beds were very thin and firm so it was uncomfortable to sleep on the floor. doubling the mattresses on top of each other would have solved this problem, but we were unsure if asking for more would have been an issue.

- Jean Claude (9/5): délicieux séjour - tatami , lit Futon et robe de chambre mode Japonaise, effectivement nous sommes au Japon avec dans la partie salon le coffre à thé. Cet hotel mode japonaise avec aussi son bain public. Nous sommes dans la tradition au coeur d'un Tokyo très moderne à proximité de deux quartiers très vivant et dynamiques (UENO et le marché d'Ameyoko et Akihabara le quartier de l'Electronique)

The baths were lovely and clean, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. It would have been nice if the water in the rooms was drinkable, and if there was a water dispenser near the baths.

- Anna Katharina (9/5): Nice traditional room - Very nice and big Tatami room. There is a traditional Japanese bath on the top floor with an inside and outside pool. The bath is tattoo-friendly. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The sink and shower smelled a bit from the drains but this is an older house and I think it can't be helped. It is very clean otherwise.

Das Hotel hat eine Sauna, die ich leider zeitlich nicht benutzt habe, aber die soll sehr gut sein, nach Austausch mit anderen Hotelgäste :-) Die Lage ist sehr sicher und einfach zu erreichen. Ich werde in ca. 10 Tagen nochmal meine letzter Nacht in Tokio, inHotel Edoya übernachten. Das man die Fenster nciht öffnen kann, man kann nicht lüften, aber die Lüftanlage und Klimaanlage funktionieren sehr gut.

- Hitinerant (9/5): A little old pearl close to the University of Tokyo - This little traditional Hotel (Ryokan) is really a little pearl in Tokyo (not far from Ueno and quite close to the University of Tokyo). I was given an old style room, very cosy. The tatami was comfortable and I did appreciate the great cleanliness of the place. The breakfast was served in the near by little restaurant. You can have both Japanese traditional and American style breakfast. Last but not least the value for money is exceptional! Everything was OK

- Britta (7/5): Pleasant Budget Stay - It was a GREAT location for food and shopping - Akihabara was about a 15 minute walk away. The metros were very close and convenient, and the staff was very friendly. We were able to ship our luggage ahead of time and also drop our backpacks off before checking in. The futons were comfy and the comforters were SO fluffy! There was a cool little deep bathtub in the room, but the cleanliness of the shower/bathroom in our room was questionable so we didn't use it. The spa facilities were also less clean than I'd hoped and I did come away with some skin issues after using the waters there. The aircon in our room turned on but didn't cool, so we very much overheated.

Очень помогла девушка администратор, когда пропало мое нижнее белье из рюкзака, позвонила в предыдущий отель, хотя так и не нашли пропажу, но благодарю ее за помощь. немного сделать ремонт ванной и побольше освещения, в целом все работает

Stanza ampia e buona colazione (salata, manca un po' quella dolce). Arrivato 50/55minuti prima dell'ora di check-in, avevo chiesto se potevo prendere la stanza. Mi é stata negata, salvo la possibilità di pagare 1500yen ed averla subito. Non l'ho trovata una cosa molto carina, soprattutto dopo aver fatto 15 ore di volo.

- Luke (7/5): Great spot to stay for cheap - Overall the Edoya is a pretty nice spot if you're looking for somewhere central to stay on a budget. The beds aren't anything to write home about but the rooms are quite charming and the staff were very friendly and good at their jobs. It was easy to get places from the hotel and the baths were nice.
