- Mary (10/5): -
- Chitquita (7/5): It was ok not best like before. - The lake, fish, walking trail. The staff is very friendly. Spacious villas. We love this place but it was not as clean in the villa this time. The spider webs were everywhere so I’m guessing they don’t dust. So many flies was in our villa and it smelled like cigarettes. We was pulling spider webs down from multiple places. The kitchen table was sticky.
- Kerstin (8/5): Sehr gerne wieder - Sehr gut ausgestattet und großzügige Wohnung.
Tolle Freizeitangebote
- Mark (9/5): -
- Brad (10/5): - So peaceful and the site is beautiful Absolutely nothing at all
- Pathfinder310947 (2/5): If you want a pool, do not book this place - We were very disappointed by our stay. The morning started off with getting breakfast ready for our kids and finding that there were ants that had taken over the box of food on the counter, and were all over the counter. Maintenance came about an hour later (when they started their shift) to spray. However, the issue seems much deeper than spraying can deal with as the ants continued to be on the counter and they seemed to come from the wall. It’s possible this was just in our room and not the whole complex.
The pool closed an hour early the night we arrived, it closed at 3 the next day and supposed to reopen at 4:30 but it did not. This was due to no lifeguards on duty. We had been outside earlier in the day and were very much looking forward to the pool. Since we’re in the middle of the heat wave and on summer vacation, the pool was a large reason we booked this hotel and only part of our family was able to be in there for about 45 minutes.
Due to the continuing ant problem and lack of pool access, we did receive a refund for one night (only after reaching out above the on-site hotel management). I do not normally leave bad reviews, but want to save another family the experience that we had.
- Kamran (10/5): Great resort facilities for families to enjoy at an affordable price at a picturesque location! - Great facilities/games/DVDs, beautiful lake front, swimming pool, sauna, theater room, tennis & basketball courts, mini golf, walking/hiking paths, great gym, complimentary laundry on site, dishwasher in every unit (dishwasher pods provided), dish scrubber and dish washing liquid, No water/coffee in the reception area, no breakfast is understandable since a full kitchen is provided
- Kamran (9/5): Amazing resort, beautiful facillities at a very affordable pricepoint - Amazing resort with lots of options for recreation. A lake on site, boats available for rental, DVDs available for rent for free (3 DVDs), mini golf, tennis courts and basketball courts available on site. Rooms are clean, staff is extremely helpful, great location, amazing value on the price point of the resort. There was no breakfast, no coffee in the reception area
- SueEllen (10/5): -
- Laura (5/5): Loved the apartment style venue, but some of the amenities needed repair/updates. - I liked the set-up and loved the room/apartment itself. The staff were friendly The basketball court had broken basketball goals. One of the reasons we booked at the property was for our daughter to get her shooting practice in, so that was disappointing. Additionally there was no lifeguard so the pool opened very late (3:00) on our baseball teams only day off to be able to use the pool. Also there were some areas that were closed off and things that were run down. We heard a rumor that the property would be up for sale this fall.
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Many amenities are available! n/a
- Tapperson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Krista (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kody (10/5): Good Times - I loved the scenery and the activities. The staff was amazing. Nothing
- Ashley (10/5): Exceptional - I love this place. My family and I always come and have a very good time. Everyone who works there is over the top nice and helpful I loved everything.
- Niemeier (10/5): Excellent
sorry to hear the Facility is closing - Service, location & facility. I'm not a member & I feel the price is little much.
- Courtney (8/5): Fun for a weekend getaway - Love the activities but need updated Went golfing and rented a set of clubs that didn’t have the putter so we could play right. Didn’t even do one hole and got told there was no refund it’s policy
- Ja.zzou (7/5): Great place for a quiet extended weekend to rest. - The location of the property is an hour from St. Louis, which is close enough to do things in the city and return to the resort. The property is far enough away from the hustle & bustle for a peaceful rest in a quiet surrounding.
- Trisha (8/5): Awesome family-friendly stop on our road trip! Great value! - Great value for a large villa and two bedrooms. Comfortable beds to rest for the night and really clean. The pool was great for the kids! The food at the Grill was less than par. We didn’t realize there would be little to no food options as far as delivery or close driving (we should have brought food and used the great kitchenette right in our villa but didn’t know-next time!) We ordered pizzas and fries from the Grill and brought it to our room but the food quality and taste was pretty disappointing.
- Christopher (8/5): - I really, really want to love this place. The staff is friendly and helpful and seem like they truly care about making your stay enjoyable. The only problem is that it's run-down a bit. For the money, it's a bargain. The golf course is pretty well kept for a little 5-hole course. It's walkable and fun and still challenging. The pool is big, clean, well maintained and well-staffed with a grill and game room with ping-pong and a pool table.
There are just some upgrades that Holiday Inn needs to invest in. The basketball court is unusable. Stupid knuckleheads have bent down the rims. The tennis court needs new nets and to be resurfaced. The putt-putt course needs new surfacing. And when we were there in early June 2025, the water/ponds were empty on the putt-putt course.
The bottom line is that it's worth the money. Bring your own cookware and a bag of ice. The rooms are nice and well appointed and most importantly... clean! We haven't taken advantage of the little lake that's there but evidently it has great fishing. I'd gladly pay more to stay here if all the amenities were in good shape.
- Mary (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (7/5): Good - The guy in the activies center was rude. And there should have been a better way to inform guests of the tornado warning that was the worst part.
- Matthew (10/5): - We loved this place. It was so much fun! Besides a fight with a wasp its was amazing.
Oh and sorry about the beetle.
- Ceonda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (8/5): Nice country stay, even with the storms. - The amenities were very nice. All the staff that we dealt with were friendly. The room was spacious and everything we needed was there. The bed was comfortable. Some of the furnishings are outdated. The putt-putt was fun, but needs a little love.
- Seth (10/5): Exceptional - Lots of things to do. Staff was super friendly. We will be back.
- Linda (10/5): - Enjoyed our short stay, will definitely be back.
- Justin (10/5): Exceptional -
- C7645UIangies (6/5): So so place - I pay way to much for IHG signature for this place -all I could hear was the people above us walking back and forth and the water running thru the building —- must say cute place but not for what I pay every month! Only a few restaurants around and 15-20 minutes away
- James (10/5): Clean, relaxing, and affordable. - We absolutely loved this property! There was plenty of dishes, towels, toilet paper, and extra blankets and pillows. There was so much to do. The front desk was super helpful. Our key card didn’t work at one point and the maintenance guy was there let us right in and got to the office to let them know before we was even able to call. They called and had us a new key right away. We will be returning at a later date. Wonderful price. I can not say anything bad about this property.
- Tammy (9/5): Superb -
- Erica (10/5): I wish we could have stayed longer. It’s such a beautiful place and the villas are so open and welcoming. - It was beautiful and safe and well organized. It was by far the nicest property I’ve stayed at yet. Nothing. Everything exceeds expectations
- Heather (10/5): - Beautiful property. Lots to do with the kids. Would be happy to come back when I have more time to spend there.
- Valencia (8/5): Overall for my purpose for the getaway it was nice just had a few small hiccups but i love this place for sentimental re - I’ve always loved this place due to it having so many things to do on site especially since things aren’t very close attraction wise! Basketball court, tennis court, volleyball court, huge pool, gym, movie theater, sauna, pool tables, ping pong, mini golf and advanced golf fields, arcade games, boats and more!!!! This is the second time we’ve come back and the grill for food has been down, and for some awkward reason there was a brown color coming from the jets in my room jacuzzi tub and it was very disturbing until it was soaked and recleaned by my husband!
- Reshena (6/5): I would definitely recommend but the ladybugs is kinda overbearing - The people are really friendly there Julia and Tracy were the best I still have not received a receipt from my stay and they said that booking would send it and I haven’t received anything I’m not sure why I couldn’t get a receipt from them but I didn’t like that also there’s 1 million ladybugs which my kids was frightened which made kinda uncomfortable
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (8/5): Very good -
- Jason (8/5): Very good -
- Krista (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bobby (10/5): Basically a 2 bedroom apartment - Comfy beds, clean rooms, and nice jacuzzi tub.
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joyce (10/5): - Many things to do if you don't want to go anywhere. Close to shopping, restaurant.
- Stephan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alice (10/5): - Staff friendly. Unit was spotless
- Jena (10/5): Exceptional - So many activities for the grandkids to do
- richellezimmerma2024 (8/5): Outdoor Adventure ( Bring your own food) - Scenic, clean resort with lots to do outside including golf. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. Although we got rained out on this week we have thoroughly enjoyed the resort grounds on past visits. We did order a meal from the restaurant which took a long time and was a little high priced. We will bring our own food next time.
- Robin (7/5): Good -
- joseph (10/5): Nice but needs some attention - Every thing was great except the spider all over entry and patio. Had to kill them for two days because property did nothing after asking
- Sandra (10/5): Great - Brilliant value for money, the rooms are actually 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartments.
Very homely, had everything you need.
Really good
- kansastech (8/5): Timber Creek Resort in DeSoto, MO - The 2 BR was well appointed. We loved the full kitchen and queen sized beds. The only thing was the shower was a bathtub shower combo. A little hard for several in my party to use comfortably. We had a walk out balcony and a straight walk in front entry from the parking lot which were great.
- Barbara (8/5): Very good - Helpful
- Gilchrist (10/5): Exceptional - Not enough hot water to fill jacuzzi
- Amber (10/5): We came in with just one goal- to relax. We did that! And more. - Very friendly staff. Villas were a great value! Pool was awesome! We loved everything
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kimberly (10/5): I wish I could’ve stayed longer - How everything was just a walk away and it was so peaceful Nothing
- Melissa (10/5): Loved the memories we made here. This place has lots of charm and lots of activities for everyone. - Very charming and lots of stuff to do. Staff are very kind I can’t say anything
- Tonya (9/5): Superb - LOVED the available amenities! The units are comfortable, clean and are just the right amount of space. The pool was our favorite as it was in the upper 90s for temps when we were there. Our only "complaint" is the dishwasher in our unit sounded like a jet engine. Lol. We learned quickly to run it and then leave for the day vs trying to watch TV or have conversations in the evenings.
- Dan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alicia (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was amazing. Room was very nice and clean. Desk lady Alicia upon check in was kind and very helpful.
- Laura (10/5): This has been our happy place for 5 years. Its a gem -
- Virginia (9/5): Superb - There was no breakfast served at this location which would have made things much better Free breakfast
- Meghann (10/5): - When we walked in the lodge it was spotless. Very homey and clean. The staff was so kind. We will definitely be back.
- Juan (10/5): - Great for families. The only negative is that you could hear the people in the apartment upstairs, really loud, all night walking, going to the bathroom, etc
- Kyle (10/5): - My wife and I enjoy our stay immensely
- Scott (6/5): Okay. - The building we stayed in was very creaky with noise transmitted from the floor above. The occupant of the above room kept late hours and the creaking of the floors was quite annoying. This was no fault of the party upstairs…but rather VERY squeaky floors.
- Nichole (5/5): The price is amazing, the location and cleanliness couldn’t be better. - The property was very clean, very quiet and secluded. The amenities closed, laundry and fitness center could have stayed open 24hrs. There was no staff except security in a booth at entrance at night.
- Kristen (10/5): Exceptional - Plenty of room, two bathrooms, nice kitchen area, activity center Nothing
- Terri (8/5): Very good -
- Larry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dan (8/5): Clean and comfortable unit. -
- pwills2023 (6/5): Disappointed - Disappointed about the fishing and care of the Middle Lake. Lots of grown up in the lake, drying out. Fishing in big lake very poor. Limited ice cream options. Nice staff who very friendly. No cleaning station for fish.
- FrequentFlier741630 (8/5): Comfortable unit serves as good base for exploring State Parks south of Saint Louis. - Spent a week here exploring SE Missouri state parks and nearby Illinois outdoor areas. Very convenient to get to these. Especially enjoyed Johnson Shut-Ins, Don Robinson, Taum Sauk, Elephant Rocks, St. Francois and Washington State Parks and their many trails and outdoor areas. Trails are well-marked and have many interesting features. Also, Cliff Cave County Park and Fort de Chartres in Western Illinois along the Mississippi.
Minimal healthy dining at the resort met our pescatarian needs - ate at restaurants in Crystal City, Festus, Hillsboro, Bonne Terre and Farmington - each good - Thai Rama was favorite.
Units were comfortable though bedrooms were not spacious. Strange tub next to bed in master bedroom. Only one night stand. Sufficient clothes storage. Would be tight for two couples to share.
Couch, beds and chairs comfortable. Kitchen well-equipped. Too much road noise even though units are somewhat removed from roads. Wifi was spotty though had no trouble streaming movies. Temperatures were in the high 80s but the pool was closed due to state regulations.
Staff very helpful when asked. 5-hole golf course was fun and club rental was very reasonable.
- popspinner14 (4/5): Hidden charges until checkout - Be very careful in booking this place for less than 7 days. Weekend Getaway stays for less than a 7 day stay results in hidden charges at checkout. Be careful as the costs can skyrocket. Therefore we will not be back if we cannot stay for the initial RCI price we paid. There is not really that many attractions for a 7 day stay.
- Ashley (10/5): I enjoy staying here most times on the weekend to chill and enjoy the amenities. I also loving bringning my family durin - Everything and the privacy around you No complaints
- Blackman (10/5): We loved it! -
- Charles (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect.
- 2denis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Terri (8/5): we had a fun stay, bummer you cannot swim in the lake. everyone was so very nice - what a fun little resort to spend some time away with my grandkids. Nice amenities - free moves to check out was a bonus the riddles each day were fun for the kids. easy access to the amenities was a plus We rented a paddleboat and believe the instructions communication could have been better.
- Victoria (8/5): - Very clean and spacious rooms. The walls are pretty thin and the kids and I were up until 2 am because of the people that were staying above us.
- Paula (10/5): Relaxing and quiet. Fishing is great in August - Very relaxing and plan to revisit in 6 weeks. Love this place. N/a
- Bill (10/5): - Apartments, not a hotel room. Things to do on the acreage. Nice staff, quiet setting… perfect when coming in yo visit relatives in De Soto and Festus!
- Dan (10/5): - Great value nice size rooms. Limited eating.
- Patti (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable. We did not realize that there were no elevators. If we knew this we would have requested a room on a floor that did not require using stairs. I have RA and was experiencing a flare during our visit; the stairs were a challenge.
- Tricia (10/5): Exceptional - Everything! So much to do, staff was so friendly and helpful! Rooms were wonderful! There wasn't anything negative
- Melissa (8/5): Very good -
- Husk (10/5): it was an awesome visit - very nice property pool closed too early
- mark (10/5): - It’s fantastic… there is 26 in our family and there is something for everybody. Our stay is always a family fun time … we will be back for the 4th time next year… thanks to all the great employees that make our stay happy and blessed!
- Katrina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Melissa (9/5): Superb -
- TamraD16 (10/5): Comfortable and affordable - We stayed at this resort over the 4th of July week. It met all of our needs and it was very relaxing. We were able to have coffee on our back porch and even had the chance to watch the geese travel from the back lake to the front lake! At least 100 geese of all sizes! It was so cute!
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Melissa (9/5): Superb - I have NO problems with this Resort!! Will stay here again The air conditioner froze up on day 2 and 3. It wasn't extremely uncomfortable....but hot....maintenence came. We were offered another room , but it was kinda hard to do with 5 people 3 of them kids, groceries etc.
- Alicia (10/5): Great space. Have already recommended to others! - All of it! Great place to get away. Exactly what we wanted. More than expected! Staff was excellent! Surround mirror by bathtub
- Kayla (10/5): Exceptional - I loved that we didn't need to leave the Resort My kids would of like to swim in the lake as well as the pool
- Jennifer (8/5): - Upon checking in, the price I was charged before I checked in was different than my booking. I chose to pay at check in, and the amount was off by more than $200. I was told that they were aware that the dollar amount seemed off but that they went ahead and charged my card that I used to save my booking anyway. No attempt to contact me prior to my arrival was made to alert me to the issue. Ultimately they were able to get the issue sorted out with Expedia but it would have been nice for them to hold off on charging me so then it wouldn’t take days for money to be returned to me or at the very least communicate that they knew there was an issue and the were attempting to get it sorted out. Otherwise the rooms were spacious, clean and above my expectations. The available activities were nice if you wanted to participate in them and off property excursions were close by and easily found.
- Amanda (9/5): Superb -
- Christina (10/5): Wonderful place for family fun, rest and relaxation. - I would highly recommend staying at Holiday in Club vacations. They have so many free family fun activities. The beds were comfy room was clean and it was a perfect getaway for rest amd relaxation The pool had a lot of bugs and if the carpet in rooms were changed to hard wood it would make the musky old smell go away.
- Merrill (8/5): A few improvements could make it a 10! - The rooms are a bit dated but very spacious and have everything you need. There are a lot of activities throughout the resort. The biggest issues are the internet speed, which is dreadful, and lack of a restaurant / bar. There is a snack bar but very low quality. For this being a resort with many units and activities, they would benefit greatly (and like profit from) and decent restaurant and a bar with at least beer and wine.
