Guest Reviews
A mon départ on me demande de régler ma nuit.
- ZA_world (8/5): On the beach! - Located right on the beach, with big rooms and comfortable suites. The restaurant looked good - although we only ordered snacks from the hotel hatch on the beachfront, where we were provided free chairs and umbrellas. There is ample free parking in a lot across the road from the hotel. Lots to do in walking distance. Would stay there again.
- 143bjarteh (10/5): Perfect location. - Serviceminded and frendly frendly staff, stayed 9 nights. One of many reasons for going back to Isle Intense! Perfect wiew over the Indiana ocean, and a good base for expeditions in the south / west and the mountains. English spoken very well.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice hotel at the beach - Friendly and helpful staff. Located right on the beach.
- jenniferv593 (8/5): Perfect location, friendly people - We flew into Saint Denis and drove directly to Saint-Pierre. The hotel was easy to find, since it is right on the water front. Parking is pretty difficult actually, but the hotel staff were very helpful in letting us leave the car directly outside then calling us when a spot was available, so it didn't cause any problems. We used this location as a starting point to go on a helicopter tour and visit the lava tubes, both of which were spectacular and easy to reach. The hotel is clean and minimalist, which I really like, and we could walk to the whole town from this location. With the beach just outside, really a great place. We didn't eat there, since so many great restaurants nearby.
- wow989 (6/5): Food o.k. - We were there for dinner. Was o.k. but nothing to go again. Maybe as hotel it is different. Since reception and restaurant is somewhat one room, you would expect English speaking person or menus, but wasn't the case at all.
- DH969 (6/5): Nice Location - Strong Points:
- Location
- Reliable wifi connection
- Nice balcony giving on beach
- Nice welcome, easy check-in
- Pleasant staff
Issues:
- Feeling on insecurity, it is very accessible from outside, there is no controlled access door to the door rooms. So you cannot leave open you balcony for a breeze to come through the room
- Parking may be an issue during day time, in advert they advertise that they can ensure one parking per room (booking.com), but there is no reserved parking for hotel, especially during the day it is an issue.
- phille133 (8/5): Hotel on the beach!!! - We had a room (nr 2) on the first floor with a nice sun deck, with chairs and lairs. On the moment of our stay we had it all for us.
The check in was fluent and friendly.
The room wasn't very spacious, but with this sun deck you don't stay longtime inside!!!
The breakfast was sufficient.
The staff was pleasant and helpful.
Good choice!!
- DanielDudek (8/5): Good hotel - What this hotel lacks in star rating, they make up for with hospitality and service mindedness. Very friendly staff, centrally located in st pierre by a kid and snorkeling friendly beach. This hotel is an excellent starting point for excursions into the island. There is plenty of parking just outside the hotel and also a large public parking nearby. Only complaint is that the walls are thin so one can hear their neighbors, but other than that the rooms are neat and you have a great view of the ocean!
- tinaq_reviews (8/5): Right by the beach, friendly service - We chose this hotel based on the location/price and we were very happy with our choice. Rooms basic but nice and clean with lovely terrace and gorgeous sea views. Tasty breakfast, hotel small with a very friendly feel. Good value. Only thing to look out for, the reception is not open 24/7 so if you're about to check in quite late, arrange with the staff beforehand.
- 1FN (8/5): Best Location - Best located hotel in Saint Pierre. Our room had a balcony with a lovely view of the beach. A fridge and a bath tub would have been nice. Being right on the beach, people can be noisy early in the morning. People leaving night clubs sometimes carry on their partying on the beach. The room have shutters, but you can still hear them.
- Nickmoad (10/5): Location, Location, Location - Very surprised to see this rated only 6/10 for Saint-Pierre. Although this is the only place we stayed I couldn't imagine anywhere better based on our experience in reunion.
The location is superb, literally right on the beach. We walked out of our room into a short foyer and straight out onto the beach.
The staff were very friendly and although there was a language barrier they went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
The rooms are very nice, I guess the renovations are complete as our room was very new and well appointed. My ONE complaint about the room would be the firm mattress but that has been the case everywhere in reunion so far.
We didn't eat at the restaurant so I can't comment, the breakfast didn't look too appetising so we went elsewhere. Also parking may be an issue, we were lucky to score a park in the public carpark on a busy Sunday (beach carpark)
All in all we had a great experience, we booked through booking.com and there was a minor mistake which resulted in us being given a seaview room for the price of a standard.
- emyLondon (4/5): Building work - An extension is being built on to the hotel. We had to walk past various unsightly debris (including old toilets) to reach our room and our balcony overlooked the building site and then a lovely view of the beach beyond. Building work started at 8am and woke us up. From our sea view room you could only really see the view when standing (not sitting) on the balcony or when taking a shower (good shower, great view). The bathroom smelled very musty but this somewhat subsided once we'd run the shower and opened the window.
We stayed here because it has a very convenient central location and having spent over five hours walking around the volcano we couldn't be bothered to hunt around for something better. On the plus side, once the renovation is complete i'm sure it will be much better and the position is great.
- ttp1111 (8/5): Great Island - we only stayed here for only one night as it was close to the wedding we were going to go to, the rest was at a friends place. but this hotel was perfect for us. reasonable and it clean, nice room with the view of the sea, the beach was a bonus, we went for an early morning swim. it was really close to the waters. reunion was a great place it had so many different things to see, from the volcano to settlers in the wilderness. it needs more than 5 days to discover properly. :D
