Guest Reviews
- Myriam (10/5): - Perfect location, beautiful and clean room. Fitness room is a plus.
- James (6/5): Hotel decent, breakfast awful. - A good stay. Very good price. Beds were not that comfortable but still decent nights sleep had. Main point for us was breakfast.... although out of season and apparently different owners had taken over the restaurant, breakfast was a joke. Cold, nothing like menu and arrogant service when questioned. So overall. Hotel decent, breakfast awful.
- ANNA (8/5): One night stay in Burgas - We had a pleasant one night stay at the hotel Luxor which was ideally located close to Burgas bus and train station and minutes from the centre where you can find great bars and restaurants. Also close to the Sea gardens and beach so 5 * location. The hotel itself is a little dated but the room was very clean and comfortable and staff were helpful and friendly
Breakfast was offered for an additional payment of 7 leva per person at the Veronique restaurant adjoining the hotel. This was excellent value and quality with several choices and coffee or tea iincluded in a beautiful restaurant ( see photos). Would recommend this hotel for short stays in Burgas!
- Ivanka (2/5): - Schmutzig
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good Value but conditions need improvement - The receptionist (elderly lady with darker long hair) at the time of check-in was not customer friendly, not very professional, and didn't provide full information.
However, the hotel's manager and maintenance staff were very polite and friendly - compensating for the receptionist.
The location and value are great. But the rooms are dated (old and need refurbishment) and not the cleanest.
I would consider staying again at Luxor, but may not be my first option.
- Veronika (8/5): - The hotel's manager and maintenance staff were great.
The location is very convenient, and good value.
Rooms and gym are old and need lift up, not very clean.
- Ernst-Jan (10/5): - The airconditioning was working well, the room was big and nice. There were separate switches for the light and the ventilation in the room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Top Hotel! - Ordentlich, ohne große Abstriche
- Russell (8/5): - The staff was very helpful in all matters.
- David (6/5): Good Stuff but Crumbling Hotel - I dod not enjoy my stay in hotel Luxor. The staff was very friendly and helpful, however the hotel itself was horrible.
Armchair in my room was 20 or 30 years old, the pillow was as hard as bricks.
Bed was uncomfortable. Gym was rundown.
- Steven (8/5): Great location, decent 3 star with parking... - It's a great location and they have a parking lot on the back side of the hotel for 20 BGN day. You can go in and out freely. The sheets and towels were clean. The mattress cover under the sheet was filled with hair. Yuck. Also the lounge chair was dirty and worn. Also yuck. They could also clean the carpets. Otherwise for a 3 star hotel, it's very good.
- RENE ALEXANDER (6/5): Take a pic of the minibar before and after! - The room was ok, nothing spectacular. When leaving, we were unfairly accused of drinking beverages from the mini bar in the room. Just the accusation was unpleasant but the tone of the receptionist made it worse and affected the whole experience of the stay. We felt very uncomfortable and put in the spot by the hotel staff without a real reason for it.
- Gillian (6/5): - Penny-pinchingly miserable. Everything was “cash only” and “you have to pay”. Of course I’ll pay for service and supplies, however, this hotel is about as unwelcoming as it could be. But easy 5 minute walk to the bus and train station, and an excellent restaurant - cash only, of course.
- Ute (10/5): - Die weichen Handtücher im Bad waren Klasse. In der Minibar ist für jeden etwas. Echz super
- Verified traveler (10/5): Location - Amazing staff, so helpful with directions and such. Location is perfect to explore the city center.
- Barrie (8/5): Ideal central location - Just a one night stay before returning home, it was ok central and good value for the money
- Verified traveler (10/5): Worth a try - Great place to be. Very close to the beach, old town and main bus station.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Solidny hotel w Burgas - Bardzo dobre położenie hotelu. 200m od deptaka, 300m od plaży/ parku miejskiego. 300m od dworca autobusowego w Burgas. Możliwość wykupienia śniadania za 7BGN/osoba w "zaprzyjaźnionej" restauracji. Ogólnie, solidny hotel miejski w idealnym miejscu.
- Anna (8/5): - Bardzo dobra lokalizacja. Blisko do parku, centrum i 5min na plażę. Proste, ale smaczne śniadanie. Pokój odpowiedniej wielkości. Łazienka też bez zastrzeżone. Polecam
- Ismo (8/5): - Hyvä sijainti, ystävällinen henkilökunta, ilmastointi
Netti ei aina toiminut ja kameran lataamiseen läppärin kautta ei riittänyt virtaa, parveke
- P (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were all lovely and welcoming. The location was perfect near the bus station and train station, the beach and city centre. The gym was awesome to use. They had a sauna I never used. Breakfast was ok. Wifi pretty good. The room nice and clean and a nice bathroom. They were so helpful I left my tshirt accidentally and they sent it to me up in Varna. I really appreciate that. Thanks!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Return stay. - Very good and comfortable hotel for the money, the bust stop for the airport bus is 10 seconds away and we recommend the restaurant called 8 Mamas, which is also 10 seconds away. Great location. Very clean.
- katie (6/5): - It’s in a nice location. The room was a little dated but comfortable. The staff weren’t too friendly on check out.
- Albert (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay at this property. This is our second time staying here. Staff are very friendly.
- Albert (10/5): - No comment
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent customer service, nice staff, great location- 3 min to the beach, 3 min to the center with great restaurants
- Edward (10/5): perfect location for beach and downtown Burgas. - great location for train/bus station and just 3 mins walk from entrance to Sea Garden.. beach.and jsut 5mins walk from main boulevard filled with shops, restaurants etc. On bus road but I had very quiet room at back of building. Very friendly accommodating staff. rooms spacious with good bathroom.. minibar/ all reg hotel extras.. very good value for money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent service and very pleased allround value for money . Close to bus and train stations as well ashops and bars .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good location, friendly staff, clean hotel! All was great!
- William (10/5): Very good stay - Very good location, clean and comfortable. Good service.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great price and location. Great restaurant, nice English speaking staff
- Michael (6/5): A bit too worn, needs a refreshing. - This is an average 3 star property, so expectations were not high. It’s in good shape overall and a dinner in the restaurant was quite good. Breakfast was a disaster, orange juice was orange soda and the eggs runny and cold. We walked out. The room was fine, bed was comfortable and clean. However the carpet was very stained and the bedspread was was worn. Price was right but I would not stay again.
- Jussi (6/5): Too much to improve - Spent two nights at the junior suite. Starting form the plus sides the wifi was good and staff very friendly. Location is great near the beachfront and city center.
Hotel is in general very outmoded. Luxor/Egyptian theme is barely noticeable. Rooms look like straight from the 80's. TV has 200 channels but first generation digital receiver only shows max 50 ok. Other's have pool signal and are impossible to watch.
Lack of electric plugs was strange. The only free plug was on the other side of the room, so if you want to charge phone during the night it needed to be far away from the bedside.
Breakfast was not included and it was served on the restaurant (which had pretty fine dinner though). They only had list of items you can have and after club sandwich I felt that I could've had some more.
- Marco (6/5): gentilezza questa sconosciuta - Personale molto freddo, camerieri , sembrava che ci facessero un favore ogni volta che chiedevano qualcosa. Colazione, meglio soprassedere. La mia aria condizionata in camera rotta.Peccato hotel piccolo, con un po’ di gentilezza e manutenzione potrebbe essere un gioiello
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean and small hotel in central location.
Recommended for short stay in Burgas!
- leonardo (8/5): wifi is no good - no cleaning everyday, wifi signal is unstable, location is very convenient and 3mins walk to beach
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hjelpsom betjening i et koselig hotell. Null kaos. Riktig og reell informasjon til rett tid. Restaurant både ute og inne, men betjeningen anbefaler gjerne alternative steder hvor man kan spise alt fra frokost til sen middag. Fine rom og utsiktsveranda.
- Brooke (4/5): - Positives: Close to the beach, and the checkin staff was very nice and helpful. Negatives: The mattresses were old and worn out, the sofa bed was not for an adult and too small, we had laundry done and they wanted to charge is 200 LEV for one bag!!!! It was one load of laundry, and they charged us a ridiculous amount per item, which was not made clear to us when we asked for the service. On top of it the laundry was not dry and smelled of cigarette smoke. We talked them down to 100 LEV, which is still $60USD for one load of laundry. Also, the steam room was broken. Just skip this place, it wasn't worth it.
- Phathom (8/5): - Very close to the beach and the main street in Bourgas.
- Kathy (8/5): Great location & clean. Limited breakfast options. - Good location. Nice area, close to bus & railway station, to the beach and to very good restaurants (Antre is downstairs, NORMA at 3 min walk). Large & clean rooms. I asked for a room at the back, which was nice & quiet. Only negative point was the smell in the room: smoke! This probably used to be a smokers room; so leaving the windows open was really needed. Breakfast is provided in restaurant Antre. You need to order from a small list of choices. No fresh fruit or muslie. For cereals, plain cornflakes is the only choice.
- Christopher (8/5): My stay worked out well good position - Room smelled bad .ac didn't improve anything . I had to open outside door leaving me no exterior security
- Tom (8/5): Nice location near park and beach on Black Sea. - Nicely located for where we wanted to be, and close to the bus station. Its entrance is a little difficult to find as it sets back from the street. It was easier to go through the restaurant to get to the reception, but it was obvious that was not the normal path the hotel would like. Missed breakfast because they did not serve it before we left at 0700. Rooms were good as well as the staff.
- yu tak (6/5): 實而不華的住宿 - 交通方便、往市中心近
- Jari-Pekka (8/5): Really friendly customer service. Clean hotel - We got really friendly customer service in reception from two ladies when we arrived to hotel. They helped us to get information to person who did not speak English in our next hotel. Hotel Luxor looked really nice and was clean. As well our room. We were really satisfied to room. Also people working in Italian type of restaurant were really when we had there an dinner (it is in a same building with hotel). In a breakfast (4 euros per person) you got to choice from around eight different options.
- Velina (4/5): Very disappointing - We booked the hotel because we had to attend a wedding and all of our relatives and friends stayed there. We booked a room for 3 adult people with 1 double and 1 sofa bed. We were surprised when we arrived because there was 1 double bed and no sofa bed in the room. Instead, there was a chair, which turned into a sort of "chair bed." It was impossible for any of us to sleep in it, as it was too short and tight to fit an adult. When we showed the manager, Velichka Iordanova, our itinerary, she was very rude and said they didn't have any rooms with 1 double and 1 sofa bed (we even offered to pay extra to get what we had booked), so on the first night 3 adults had to fit on 1 double bed. On the second day, they took out the chair and brought a mattress, which they put on the floor and told us one of us can sleep on the floor mattress (a comment was even made by the cleaning lady that the floor will be and I quote "very comfortable" for us). That same day a couple from the wedding party invited us to their room and when we entered, we were surprised to see that despite what the manager had said, they had a supposedly non-existent room with 1 double and 1 sofa bed to accommodate 2 people. On the last day, the hotel staff even asked us to remove the mattress from the room ourselves and put the chair back because they didn't have enough people to do it. I would have requested a refund if I could, because they basically ruined our time there and we did not get what we paid for.
- guest (8/5): Nice hotel near the beach and the center - We got the information and confirmation from expedia, that there is free parking at the hotel; but the hotel has almost no parking possibilities; nevertheless the stuff found a solution
- Laurent (6/5): Friendly hotel staff and free parking in Burgas - Really good stay and friendly staff!
Convenient hotel location, close to the City Center & Black Sea including free parking!
Studio was spacious, clean and perfect proposed ameneties in the room for such hotel and price proposed.
Free wifi in the room, but sometimes better to use wire connection, depending on your room.
Very good large bed, a shower a bit too small.. but easy to manage for a short stay.
Breakfast tasty but not sufficient and not expensive...
- Norman (8/5): Home away from home. - 12 days, 11 nights. Went over to buy a house and had quite a lot of running around to do. The beds were comfortable ☺ The staff went out of their way to ensure that I was contented and really helped me with translations. I loved their open air restaurant. It never took them more than 15 minutes (usually less) to have whatever I order, in front of me ready to eat. A very friendly hotel.
- HAKAN (8/5): - Daha önceleri kaldığım bir hotel yine kalacağım sahile ve merkeze yakın görevliler ve temizlik açısından bir sıkıntı yok.
