Guest Reviews
- Danny (10/5): - Great customer service 🔥
- Verified traveler (2/5): HORRIBLE - come in didnt know i had to pay a $150 deposit??!?! dont understand then afterwards me and my family we’re checking out the rooms. There was was barely anything half of the stove didn’t even work no bathroom utensils at all not even a piece of toilet paper. The towels were stained black from the inside mind you these are white towels, the drawer and under the bathroom sink was also broken. Our balcony door didn’t even open, but there was so much cigarette and dirt outside of that patio worst overall in one of the rooms that I had got minds you, everything was turned on basically at the same exact time like a C wise, I had water dripping down my face in the middle of the night that woke me up. The ceiling was full of water. Droplets the pool was closed. Nobody wanted to open the pool, and the staff members are very rude and not understanding at all out of 10 would not recommend. Definitely will be taking my money elsewhere.
- Theodore (2/5): - I stayed in room 403 it rained the 5th day I was there and the roof leaked ruined our food and even stained some of our clothes… I went down told the front desk and they said they already knew it leaked never did ask if they could help or anything said it leaked when it rained…. Very unsafe for anyone to stay there because of mold and everything where the water sat on the ceiling
- Princess (2/5): - Stains in bed sheets , dirty Didn’t wanna give refund 👎
- Leora (2/5): - Walking in the room smelled musty. The ac was on snow it was so cold but we found it was needed to keep the moisture down. When we turned to comfy temp (mid 70s) the room became humid and damp. But the sheets and towels had orange stains. The floor had sand all over. Everything was run down looking. I heard there was a change of hands recently but u cant just slap a coat of paint on and call it renovated!
- Victoria (2/5): - Property was falsely advertised. Over the phone confirmation of unit was inaccurately portrayed. Appliances did not work properly. Bed fell apart when laying on it. Bathroom shelves had rust peeling from it. Pool had large roaches and algae in water. Room had minimal lighting. Fourth floor room that was promised was not provided after booking. Full odor throughout hallways. Inconvenient parking with minimal spaces near property. Sore flushing toilet. Kitchen falsely advertised, only hot plate-type provided. Mold in room, I kept breaking out in hives. Sheets and pillows cases were dirty upon arrival. Desk with outlets attached were falling out of the desk. Outlets did not work proper for charging devices. Tv was mounted but falling off of wall. Balcony door did not close completely and was difficult to open.
- jason (4/5): - Nothing
- Brian (2/5): - Got an ocean view with a balcony, decent spot but not the best. The building itself isn’t too bad, Pool was average but seemed clean and well kept. The rooms however were not. There was a damp odor in the room. Expected sometimes at the beach but it was rough. Bathroom is in poor condition. A few renovations don’t make up for decades of neglect.
Overall, not the best bang for your buck but it’s cheap and offers a view of the ocean. Definitely better options available.
- Bethany (10/5): - Great location, great service, a little noisy from the neighbors but it seemed safe enough for me to have my kids there
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This place is terrible
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This hotel is under new management, and the old management has yet to remove their listings from booking sites. This resulted in us being hours away from home, on a spring break weekend, with no room. The only other options were very expensive at last minute notice. The new management was very polite, and I am only writing this review to warn others to verify with the new management via phone whether or not they have availability, in hope of keeping other people from going through the same thing. We were the third to come in that day with the same issue.
- Verified traveler (2/5): worst hotel ever, would not recommend to anyone! - was very unfortunate to have stayed here. checked in for 4 people and were expecting to have enough room for a blowup mattress for 6 adults (we also had 2 infants, both under age 2). we paid over $700 to stay here and thought we'd have a "kitchen" with a normal fridge. sadly mistaken, the kitchenette had a small fridge, no pans or anything to cook, no coffee pot. we could not get our $ back, I talked with hotels.com, they called the hotel but Atlantic hotel would not approve the refund. we had 2 very small dogs (10 lbs & 3 lbs), the owner insisted that we pay an additional $150 was cursing at us and very rude/when hotel rules say no offensive language. was also insisting we pay additional $20 per person not included in our reservation ($80 for 2 adults & 2 infants).
room smelt like smoke, bed comforters had a few cigarette holes. the bathroom door got stuck (our son was trapped in) one of the hotel folks knocked it open/we didn't want to break the door and get charged. floor was sandy and dirt fell out of beds when moved to make room for our air mattress. was mold under the bed skirts & under the beds. folks at the hotel were kind enough to help clean. not their fault the hotel is poorly kept. also door lock on the main door was broken, and the patio door would not lock/had to use the "curtain rod" to lock it. parking lot is about a block away. we slept on top of the beds, the place is not sanitary. ice machine broken too.
owner just wants your $
hope this helps someone!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Dont do it!!
- Jay (4/5): - First room we entered was not cleaned from the guests before so lady at desk (who very nice apologized) and gave me key for two other rooms of witch second had no air on and floor was wet from the humidity, finally the 3 room was good. Hotel is very old so i understand how hard it is to keep up but the price was good and the bed was confortable and shower was hot.
- cory (2/5): - The rooms need updated big time and they were dirty there were roaches the side walk is so slippy even when its not wet and I fell and it hurt alot pool said closed but people was in it
- Tiffany (10/5): Will stay again!!! - Me and Husband really enjoyed our stay there me and husband both agreed that we will stay here again. The front desk lady was every nice and professional. And she had a beautiful smile. She made my check in experience great.
- Gysypgarcia (2/5): - Mal acondicionado y está un poco sucio y mal olor no me agrado
- Verified traveler (8/5): - it did not have a elevator and i was on the 4th floor
- Tee (2/5): - This property needs desperate renovations and updated furniture at least. The doors lock but there’s big cracks that make you feel unsafe. We couldn’t get anyone to answer phone or open door when we checked out. Horrible experience.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This was one of the worst stay i ever had..The property didn't have a elevator for your bags..there were water on the shower floor as if someone had just taken a showe. Our room door wouldn't close properly..and least to say the front desk person was not very knowledgeable..
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Never been there and had a fantastic fun on the beach and pet friendly
- Jack (4/5): - The employee was disengaged, the room floor was wet and the air conditioner was loud.
- S (2/5): - It was disgusting. Not clean, no convenient parking, no one available for checkout.
- Iowa (6/5): - The lady working the desk at check-in was very nice and helpful. Beware there is no elevator and you may have to walk up the stairs all the way up to the 4th floor. They mop the floors with some sort of cleaner that leaves the floors oily and slick to walk on. Bathrooms were in newer condition than the rest of the room, but the water pressure in the shower was weak. Sliding door to the balcony didn’t shut tight or have a lock on it, instead they put some sort of pipe on the bottom of the door to stop it from opening. The pool looked nice, and it’s only a short walk to the beach.
- Lottee (2/5): - Hotel needs major upgrades! And hotels.com overcharged me for a balcony view and I didn't even get a balcony or ocean view! Smh never again......please don't waste your time or money here
- M4 (8/5): - Older hotel but the price was right and staff were super nice!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Upon making reservations for this hotel we asked for An Oceanfront View. When we arrive at this hotel we got a room with a view of a few beach houses on the side. The mini refrigerator was broken the floor was nasty there were no trash cans in the bathroom and a tiny trash can in the room the sheets on the bed and the pillow cases were very dingy the air conditioner that was hanging out of the wall barely work. The ice machine that was outside was broken . Overall I will never stay at this hotel again such a bad experience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Freaking dump man, no elevator is as low as you’ll go in MB
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The staff was soooo nice and welcoming. The rooms are decent, but I think it could have been a little cleaner. All in all, don’t let the bad reviews scare you away bc this place is no where near what some of the reviews make it out to be. I don’t see why I won’t stay here again!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very close to the beach and it has friendly people that helps you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff at the hotel were sweet ans very helpful, and it was close to the beach.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not recommended - There were cockroaches in the room. The bathroom shower curtain was filthy. When we came in there was food left over from previous guests. There were clothes left over in the bathroom cabinet. Cleaningness was so bad we only slept there. For that price you might as well pay a little extra to get a decent room.
- Rick (2/5): - Room and bathroom was very dirty. There was mold on the walls , chairs and sheets. Roaches!!!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great friendly service, accomodations right down to the point, simple and money value budget oriented. Location about 10 min drive to downtown.
- Katie (2/5): ROACH MOTEL - This place is absolutely disgusting!!!!! There was actual roaches in the floor, dirt and hair on the sheets in the bed! Burnt holes all on the comforter, just absolutely definition of ROACH MOTEL!!!!! We went back downstairs (no elevator!!) Talk to the manager "gave us a different room" still just as disgusting!!!! Spoke with "Dustin" in the front lobby for a refund because we refused to stay there how horrible it was. He lied straight to our faces saying contact hotel.com and they REFUSED the refund as well!!!! I will NEVER EVER use hotel.com again and definitely NEVER EVER go near that nasty motel again!!!!
- Tanisha (2/5): Worst hotel I’ve ever seen! - The place is falling apart and dirty. Next to a nude bar. Very sketchy. Bed linens were dirty. No ice machine or any other vending machine. Shower stall was dirty. Very uncomfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I loved that it was right across from the beach, and very quite.
- Verified traveler (2/5): You will regret it - To be honest for what we paid, absolutely not worth it. Absolutely disgusting, no one slept under the covers. We read the bad reviews, and we thought we’d give it a chance anyway. DON’T DO WHAT WE DID.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No ice machine no cups in room but workers were nice and friendly and pool was closed
- Tiana (4/5): - Close to the beach with a nice view. Doors did not open and close or lock properly. Made reservations for six people and room only slept four.
- cheryl (10/5): Great get away hotel - I absolutely love this hotel. It's older but it's quiet, the staff is great, and the rooms are comfortable.
- cheryl (10/5): Great place to stay - The hotel is older but very cleaning. Staff is great. Love staying there..
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Roaches
- Jacqueline (2/5): - Came from RALEIGH, NC on weekend Vacation to 2608 Ocean Blvd, Myrtle beach.. On Saturday 8/4/18 I got a room and thought that it was going to be a great room but it actually turned out to be the complete opposite. There were a lot of things that I notice that was not okay with me. There are 2 different queen size beds in the room (one pillow top and one economy), I turned on the shower to let it run for a couples minutes to get hot, I went back into the bathroom and realize the shower drain is clogged; Literally the shower looks like a swimming pool, The plug to the tv have tape on in because the cord to the tv have a shortage in it, so they tried to hid the cord behind the mirror on the dresser, The dresser is messed up, Room didn’t have light bulbs, The tv is nothing but static. You can barely tell the tv is on, Stove top and under the cabinet in the kitchenette is filthy, The water doesn’t get cold, mattresses & Boxspring have mold, Also me and my family has been bite by something. We got bit by beg bugs which left spots. I noticed it only hands at first and decided to check every where else and notice more spots. Now its all over my body. This is just some of the things I’ve notice. The lady at desk name Misty lied saying they have no bed bugs but she replied to muiltple complaints online claiming saying they had them. Misty said I didn't she didn’t believe I got bit but I have pictures to prove her wrong
- Verified traveler (4/5): - They need to fix various structural issues. Example: I got stuck in the bathroom for about 15 minutes because the doorknob didn't work from the inside. The sliding doors to the balcony didn't lock, they use a broomstick as a lock. The hotel needs a lot of work. The staff was really friendly and answered all the questions i had.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disgusted - A total rip off the place was disgusting full of bugs and roaches I want my money back.
- David (2/5): Was not very clean - Booked a room for six. Only 2 beds not very spacious.. WiFi didn’t work in rm 404 asked staff and was told to walk around to find the WiFi connection. Staff was a party group. Always smelling marijuana. In the sink was empty wine cooler bottle. Killed roaches in the room, as well in staircase. Sliding glass door didn’t work properly. No telephone in the room. AC didn’t work proficiently for size of room. Updates needed to all areas of the hotel. Had to request for clean linens and clean towels.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - WiFi was not available. Self serving. Never cleaned room. Sand already on the floor and dust on the microwave. Static on the TV. Glass door to balcony was hard to open and close. Construction going on across the street waking you up.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We booked a room with a balcony With an Ocean View, and instead we were offered a room we're on the balcony it was filled with trash and construction equipment. Then we got sent to a different Atlantic Hotel because the first one didnt have the room they were advertising online that we had reserved. The second Atlantic that we went to we ended up getting the room on the third floor, but the floors were so dirty that our feet were black 5 minutes after walking into the room. About 30 minutes later there was a huge arrest in the parking lot, and the neighbors were being very obnoxious the entire time. Horrible experience
- J (10/5): Decent hotel with a beach view - Staff was friendly, beds could have been more comfortable but overall would rate a 8.5/10
- Andres (6/5): Decent hotel but still need work - Staff was friendly but hotel needs work. Pool was not open but understand its a bit early into the season. There was no working cable tv. They didnt have cable. Otjer than that it was ok.
- Karen (2/5): Nasty - It was very nasty. Smelled bad it Is not for a family.
- Tina (8/5): Not a 5 * hotel, but priced accordingly. - First things first, if you want a 5* hotel, then you need to pay 5* pricing to begin with! Do people really expect to get a $400 room for $100?
Second, we went down on the spur of the moment for a girls weekend this past weekend. The first room we received was on the fourth floor, you should know their is no elevator, my mother-in-law is handicapped and this was her last trip before having her ankle fused because of a motorcycle accident. Anyway, when we explained this, we were promptly moved to the bottom floor the next morning, and they even offered to help us move our stuff. Both rooms were extremely clean. Both beds were extremely clean and all 4 of us commented on how comfortable the beds were. I'm not sure about these other reviews and what they saw, or if their have been some changes to the hotel since last year, but we did not have issues with cleanliness at all. Their is new tile on the floors. As you would expect its impossible to keep sand off the floors coming in and out all day. We could clearly see the beach from the fourth floor, straight ahead, and a good partial view from the bottom floor, due to the dunes. There is not an indoor pool or hotub, their is an outdoor pool, but we didn't go to swim. Above all else, the staff was EXTREMELY nice and helpful throughout our stay. Probably the nicest I've dealt with, and kept checking to see if we needed anything. So due to pricing, staff and cleanliness, I would go back for another ladies weekend anytime.
- manny (2/5): Dirty and run down - I wouldn't let my dog stay there
It's dirty and shelves were broken
And pots were so old they worped
And the beds had blood and hair
On them they need to fire house
Keeping Dept.
- MELISSA (2/5): - It was nasty!!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): please make some updates - the staff was very helpful and very nice and the check in was fine, but upon entering the room the first thing we noticed is that the beds did not look made because the pillows were just throw out of place and one case was very dingy it just stood out from the rest so I asked if the beds had been changed, the answer was yes. then the quilt covering the beds were full of soils and spots and even faded larger spots and the mattress cover was dragging the floor, the lamp shade, the night table and the chairs on the little walk out deck was full of dust, as if they had not been dusted in awhile. a young lady did come and clean the chairs ,after we requested so we could sit out side. there was an old stove and sink that needed to be removed from the room that looked ancient, we did not bother to turn on. we just used the micro wave and the frig. the floor had not been sweep there were a few bugs dead in the corner. the hot water ran as if there was no pressure behind it, just a light stream. and the exhaust in the bathroom didn't work. we did not use the dressers to put our clothes in because they were dusty.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Basic - This is a very basic hotel. Perfect if you are just staying the night or need somewhere to sleep for a few hours. The staff was nice.
- Ricky (2/5): Rooms smelled like bug spray. Had mold in the room - Very bad experience. Rooms were nasty smelled of bug spray.
- Justin (2/5): Never again - Did not stay went to a different hotel. Will not ever go back, they should close that hotel down asap
