Russell (6/5): - First room smelt horrible (like water and mold) but I was offered another room upon request. Second room the wall paper was coming off and mold had started. Wall had stuff on it and looked like blood splatter. Smelt like someone had smoked in the room. Carpet had a powder substance on it and had not been vacuumed.

Andrea (4/5): Excited to leave - The pictures do not accurately represent this property. The secondary lock for our room was broken. It was concerning to me since it was an exterior door! The bed was really bouncy and springy. Black mold was on the bathroom vent. The front desk staff were hardly available, with a sign saying “they’d be back momentarily”. Also, sketchy/weird people hanging out in the parking lot. Was definitely not a good stay.
Pamela (2/5): Don't stay here. - I called approx one week in advance to let them know that I cannot do stairs and didnt want to use an elevator because I had a stroke and I walk with a walker. The man ai talked to said not to worry. All room we on ground level. ( lie number 1) Whe I checked in the man gave me my key and said here you go, your room in on greo7nd floor next to the pool just past the glass door. ( lie number 2) I didnt know the lay out of the hotel, walk to find my room and low and behold it was on the second floor. And to get there was a long flight of stairs. I asked my son to walk back to the office and tell the man that he made a mistake and gave us the wrong key. The man told my son...no mistake we are booked and there are no other rooms. We stayed. Took me awhile to climb the stairs. The room was all the way at the end of a long, long hallway. Took me about an hour to get my breathing back to normal. Carring a walker up a flight of stairs was impossible. Then the room...my God. The bathroom was filthy. Spider webs, crumbs, and dirty towels. Shameful.
Tim (2/5): - There was black mold under falling down wallpaper. The bed sunk in the middle. The doorknob was very loose. The guy on duty would not honor the price online. We were supposed to stay 2 nights; we left after 1. We did not received a refund for the second night. We will never stay there again.

I would stay there again if I had to (short term - 3 nights max) but definitely not with my family. Did have a nice view of the lake! It felt safe. Was continently located. Overall, it was ok at best!

Kathy (2/5): Don’t stay here unless they make major changes - Long review. If we could leave zero stars we would. Zero on room service, zero on cleanliness, zero on the serve yourself breakfast…zero top to bottom. We have traveled for more than 40 years and we have never had a worse hotel, ever. We leave very honest reviews and this was a zero! It is no longer a local owner and currently licensed under Sun Motel LLC, the expiration date was April 30, 2025, so the displayed license has expired. (We didn’t know this until we went looking for owner information) The photos don’t even begin to show how bad this was. We had to check in and leave to get to our event. It wasn’t until we came back to a mold filled disgustingly dirty room that we were aware of the beginning of the disappointment. The sign on the front desk says you have to report within a few minutes if there are issues and we were gone all day, so couldn’t change rooms. The mold was everywhere including on the table legs and chairs. The ceilings, bathroom and A/C. The first morning we went to get the self serve breakfast that is supposed to be included. It was dried out bread, no butter, jelly or topping of any type for the toast. A couple containers of cream cheese but not enough for the bagels there, a pancake machine, some packaged little blueberry muffins and cereal in giant boxes-shared community style. Full sizes of gallon of milk, sunny D and apple juice. Once the Sunny D was gone it was not replaced for following days it was just no longer
Edwin (8/5): - Simple but comfortable hotel. The room was clean and the staff was attentive. A good option for a short stay.
Mike (2/5): - There was mold on the walls and ceiling. Wall paper and the walls were peeling apart. Bathtub was dirty and badly stained. I talked to the staff about it. They seemed to think it was normal and slight language barrier.
Angel (6/5): - My boyfriend and I rented a room for one night. The rooms with jetted tubs looked impressive. I was given the key to room 222 initially. I really liked the decor. Unfortunately it was unclean. None of the mirrors or surfaces were cleaned. There was hair in the tub and shower. There was a hole in the wall behind the door. There was a considerable pile of dirt in the bathroom behind the door. And the TV remote didn't work. After complaining, we were moved to another room. This time the room was 107. An awful smell was enough to knock a person out. I complained to the front desk. He said he would spray something but that's the best he could do. Tired and aggravated, I agreed. He claimed he checked the rooms and didn't see any problems. I called him on it and told him I don't think he would find those rooms suitable if he were paying to stay there. He came back and sprayed something else all over the carpet to help with the smell. By morning the smell was back and I woke up with a terrible headache and stuffy nose. They refused a discount but did their best to accommodate us. I tried to show the staff the areas that needed attention and they didn't want to listen. I get the impression this place used to be higher end but maybe changed hands recently? Improve your guests experience through quality, cleanliness, attention to detail and premier customer support.

Jennifer (2/5): - We rented the room and paid $152 in order to have a tub with jets. That was the only nice thing. There was a hole in the wall behind the doorknob, the wallpaper was coming off the wall, there was literally someones shirt in the bathroom. The toilet had a black ring around it that my husband scrubbed off. A cockroach crawled down the inside of the door when i shut it. Around the outer edge of the tub was some tile, and the plastic edging that lined it was attached to nothing. Every time you stepped on it, it slid off. The coffee pot in the room was missing the carafe. I thought it may be a single serve, so placed a foam cup under it, until i noticed that it was really getting hot. Someone had poured laundry beads in the vents and they were molded. You could see black mold in it, as well as in the exhaust fan in the bathroom. On top of all that, it was DIRTY. There were food bits and dog food pieces under the table that the tv was on as well as behind the fridge. I saw this when i went to plug in my phone. SUPER disappointing. You can tell it used to be nice, as there was a fountain outside, although it was disconnected with grass grown up around it. When i went to the front desk to show them pics of the damages (so they couldnt blame us), there was a woman requesting clean sheets, and she told me her room AND bed was filthy. At least our bed was clean and comfy. And the tub was nice.....after we cleaned it. We wore crocs the entire time we were in the room.
Verified traveler (4/5): Better than sleeping on the ground but not by much - The bed was clean that was about the only positive.we didnt have a working tv remote. The jacuzzi tub smelled like sewage. There were boogers all over the bathroom wall. The wallpapper was peeling and falling off. There was very rarely somone at the front counter. The rest of the hotel either smelled like onions or cigarettes. The pool was full of trash.

Anita (2/5): From Bad to Worse! - Upon walking in the room had a strong musty smell. The sheets were badly stained and the worst part was the toilet seat! It was covered in black mold and when we tried to report it no one was available to talk to. A sign was left at the front desk and no one around tried calling and no answer. Online their system says No refunds or cancellations are allowed so we were stuck with a gross room. Unless this place gets renovated with a thorough cleaning do not stay here!

One TV didn't work very good but we had a separate room with a TV that did work better. Breakfast was horrible . They had a pancake machine but I never did find any mix and only other food offered was bread, muffins and cereal or yogurt . I did enjoy the location and easy access to stores and as I said was very quiet most of the time . Did have kids next door one night that were little loud but was not to bad. I could also see the lake from my window so that was pretty cool
Brittanie (2/5): - After check in, we always look over the room for cleanliness. The room smelled of smoke and we found a bed bug on one of the beds. Immediately went to the front desk and cancelled our stay. Showed the front desk clerk the picture of the bug and they denied that is what it was. I used to work in hospitality and was trained to spot the evidence of the presence of them as well as what they look like.
Verified traveler (10/5): - When we checked in and went to our room, we found that there wasn't a refrigerator in the room. My wife went to the desk and explained that we have meds that must be refrigerated. The gentleman at the front desk promptly brought one to us. Everything else was great from the start - it was clean and comfortable. We would stay there again.

Alexis (4/5): Most likely wont stay here again - The bathroom sink has a partial clog - the sink started to fill up just while washing my face in the morning. I had to turn off the water to let it drain before I rinsed off my face. The shower was completely clogged by hair that i didn't notice until i was in the shower and the tub started to fill up while showering. It was the slowest drain due the hair. The TV barely worked, we could hear tv shows but couldn't SEE anything on more than 3/4 of the channels. There was only ONE Styrofoam cup for coffee in the morning - kind of a problem when there's 2 of us. And 3 pillows for 2 people - also a problem when we both use 2 pillows. The bed was comfy though, i loved the bed.

Neil (4/5): - Check-in was horrible. He couldn't find the reservation and I had to say my name over and over again. Finally found it and assigned us a room. We got in the room and settled in a bit and when I checked the sheets they had not been washed. I went back to check in to request new sheets and once again he couldn't find my name in the system even though it was the same guy that gave me the key. I finally gave up got the sheet and went back. We had a two-night reservation, the next day I was at a conference but thank God my wife was still in the room, because housekeeping came in to try to clean the room only after one night. If she hadn't been there who knows what would have happened to my stuff. It smelled dirty, look dirty, run down, not worth $60 a night even by a long shot. I will never stay in this place again

The shirts had feces on them, mold in the bathroom, the roof and wall was leaking, black mold in the refrigerator, cobwebs in the lights. It was a health hazard and not a place for a family! It was a nasty hook up place! We had to find a different place to stay! I need a refund!

Pete (4/5): Oh, How the Mighty Have Fallen - You can tell this was once a nice hotel. Not so much anymore. Our room had a musty odor. The air conditioner made a strange sound that would wake us up. There was less than a quarter of a roll of toilet paper when we arrived without a replacement. There was a make up smudge on one of the towels. The coffee maker was not plugged in and didn't reach a plug where it sat and there were no coffee cups, only plastic cups. The people at the front desk were helpful getting us TP and coffee cups when we asked for them.

green (4/5): - The room itself was clean but smelled so bad. The building had trash everywhere. The hallways and pool apron had not been swept or cleaned in anyway for some time. It is the last time I try to save money on a hotel room. I spent fifty dollars in cleaning supplies to try to make the room smell better.
Mary (4/5): - After Memorial weekend, pool wasn't ready. AC peaked and blew wet air. The carpet was wet as well as the bedding. They will tell you that you have 30 minutes to request a new room or a refund. We had dropped our things and left to go see some local sites, and didn't get back within 30 minutes. They were fully booked as well as many in the area for a fishing tournament. We asked about the AARP discount, they offered $5 that they never applied.

Verified traveler (4/5): Nah. Don’t do it. - It’s was fine at the best. The lobby has weird stuff in it that honestly shows they don’t really care about what ppl think when they walk into the lobby. The breakfast was bad lol…just a few juices, things of butter and milk thrown out w horrid cereal. There was only bread and pancakes you can press a button for….felt like I was in an old peoples home. They didn’t even have silverware that could cut through the pancakes. The room was okay except for the messed up faucet that needs to be fixed….heard that thing dripping all the time while sleeping. Oh and don’t forget the tv didn’t work and one or two of the lamps didn’t. Would recommend if desperate.

Erin (10/5): - I stayed for a week there, the room was very clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and the staff was professional and courteous. My room was ready on time, but did not have a microwave. The mini fridge was in good working condition, so my ice stayed frozen. I did not use the pool but It was often littered with garbage from other guests, or I might have. I would choose this location again.
Pablo (4/5): Hotel was cheap but not as cheap as the stay. - First room the shower handle broke and we couldn’t shut it off. Luckily I had tools in the car to shut it off but we couldn’t use it all night. The toilet kept running unless you jiggled the handle several times. They did move us to a better room but not until the next day. The area around the pool was very dirty as was the pool and the garbage cans outside were overflowing and garbage on the ground. The breakfast area was also a mess and not much to eat but toast and a pancake machine that did not have pancake mix in it most of the time. The front desk was rarely staffed and you had to call a number that was left there to reach anyone.

Ashley (4/5): - This use to be our go to spot when we stayed at the lake. We noticed that it has since sold. There is a tub in the lobby under a sign “used towels “. I don’t know if I was supposed to put towels there to get new ones? I wasn’t told this at check in though. The wallpaper is starting to peel the room I was in. They have changed the door knobs but there is light coming through on the side. The pool looks like it hadn’t been filled in awhile.

Amy (2/5): - Hotel is run down and dirty. First room was filthy with black mold peeling wallpaper stains all over even on ceiling. Doorknob was loose and jiggled. Desk man was rude when I asked for a fix or new room. Took my key and said come back later. We went shopping and bought towels sheets and blankets so we wouldn’t have to sleep on dirty things. When we got back they gave me the key to same room and when I used it someone else was in there. Thankfully they were clothed! Got keys to a new room. It stunk but looked cleaner and the doorknob was solid. So glad we survived the trip. Will NEVER go there again. You shouldn’t either.
Karen (2/5): - I was told when I stated that the key did not work I would need to put the key in the lock and then turn kick the door to get the door to open. Since my husband and myself are in our 80's this was something hard for us to do. We did have to stay one night but was able another place to stay the second night. The pool in the picture did not have any water in it. Very disappointment.
Shannon (10/5): - Took my kids for Father’s Day weekend. Only thing that was a little disappointing was that the pool wasn’t open. But took my kids to an indoor water park.

Bryan (2/5): - After I had booked the room, the hotel kept calling me during work to tell me I “needed to be there by 10 PM”. When I informed him I couldn’t be there by that time, as my job (I’m a musician) was until 10 PM and I would still need to drive there, he said “ok, well what time can you be here then?” I thought that was ridiculous, and said I would be there when I could get there. They proceeded to call me 2 more times while I was playing my gig. I paid for the room in advance. Why do I have to be there at a certain time? You’re not losing out on the room if I don’t show up, in fact you’ll make more money because you won’t have to clean the room. I cancelled my reservation and asked for my money back. Both them and Expedia refused to give me my money back, even after they badgered me about what time I was going to show up. I would avoid places like this. I stay in a lot of hotels, some high end and some low end. Most of them want to make your stay comfortable, and fix the mistake if they don’t. I avoid ones like this like the plague.
Robert (4/5): - The housekeeper needs to be trained or replaced that shower curtain was dirty the coffee maker was filthy she did not check to see if we needed anything and the outside noise between 10 and 2:00 at night was horrible will not be returning

Julie (6/5): If only for sleep can manage one night - Ok if just need a place to sleep. Our room obviously had not been recently cleaned as there were cobwebs containing small flies etc in the corners of the room and above the curtains. There was a strong musty smell in the room and a smell of urine in the bathroom. Again- likely because the room had not been used or opened up for some time. The bed was clean and comfortable. Definitely needs some upgrades and repairs to walls, some rusty ceiling tiles etc. Very thin towels. Advertise breakfast but it was bagels and cream cheese or Great Value boxes of cereal to pour from. We selected due to the pool and it was not even remotely ready for the season. Not been cleaned or filled.

Jennifer (4/5): - Everything was not cleaned properly. The sheets were stained and there were strands of hair in the made bed when we arrived. The bathtub was dirty. The outside trash bins were not emptied the whole weekend. The pool that is pictured is covered and has not been used in a very long time. The pictures are most definitely not true to the place. We stayed because of the convenience of location. Never booking there again.
