Guest Reviews
- Kandi (8/5): - Staff was very very friendly and helpful. Very welcoming.
- Anthony (6/5): - The pictures do not lie. It is very dated, but clean and serviceable. Clean up your entrance and areas in front of the rooms
- Martha (4/5): - We paid got a queen, weed told we were given a queen and a double. It was in fact 2 foibles. When we chose the place it said there was breakfast. There is no breakfast.
The heater in the room does not work.
There is no ice machine.
- Katie (10/5): - Great staff, affordable, comfy and clean.
- Dusti (10/5): - Very clean!
- Daniel (10/5): - What a nice find!
Very kind staff, clean rooms, no off-putting smells (strangely common on road trips).
Comfortable, quiet, safe, budget-friendly accommodation.
The period-building and rooms are dated, but that is part of the attraction to this motel. The property has served many souls, over many years, and the way they care for it, it will continue to do so.
Owned and managed by people who give off very good vibes. You get the feeling they are happy and hope you are, too.
To my surprise, they even offer books to read, in your room; can even take a book to read later!
Slept comfortably, knew we were safe, parked at our door. We received good guidance on things to do in town and where to get breakfast.
We were very happy with the value received. We have no criticisms of this operation, as they do a great job in the difficult hospitality industry.
We will surely stop here the next time we do the cross country run.
- Cheryl (10/5): - Small room but had lots of places to put luggage. All one level and able to park outside of room so easy loading/unloading. Super friendly staff. Outdated but quaint - i liked it but not the usual cookie cutter motel people might expect. Actual coffee cups instead of the paper ones - liked that!
- William (10/5): - I would stay here again when I visit Rawlins
- Chuck (10/5): AMAZING SHOWER - Great lady at check in, told us where the best restaurants where and what was happening in town that night & the next day. Bed was super comfy, shower amazing ! Water pressure galore and even had a wand ! Yes they have full size fridges. Would definitely stay again if in town.
- Cindy (10/5): - Older, single store motel that was just what I needed! The owner is considerate and personable. Room was comfortable.
- Robert (10/5): - Great check in. Helpful in locating a great dinner. Friendly staff and other visitors
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Easy to find
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Everything was great but there was a 20 Dollar charge for my Dog to stay there but thats no problem the Dog slept well too.Haha
- Benjamin (10/5): - Lovely staff and rooms were clean and cozy. Rooms are furnished more like an actual bedroom, tighter than a standard hotel room with more furniture like a desk and shelving. If you're a CDT hiker or GD cyclist like myself you'll appreciate all the spaces to lay out gear. Things are aging but I felt this added to the charm. It felt a bit like staying with an extended family member. Enjoyed my stay.
- Richard (6/5): - Started in 1949. Still an old fashioned tourist court. Price was right for today. Would have been $15 in 1949
- cathylG9583FJ (4/5): Poor. Water on bathroom floor, gross bathtub. - I don't know who or whst has been reviewing that hotel, but thos is my honest experience. The room was SMALL. The bed was SMALL i.e. a full but for my husband who is 6" 3' it was uncomfortable. Its run by a Christian ministry thst asks you for a donation on automatic paper on the table. The toilet LEAKED. There was water on the bathroom floor and it never subsided. The bathtub was very old and chipped. The shower was not worth getting into. The floor was filthy. This hotel should be getting poor reviews. They did have a huge refrigerator in the room. The coffee maker was dirty. SMALL. They did provide a microwave and a dresser with drawers.
- thomas (10/5): - Very personalized and great attention to detail makes this historic property a joy to stay at.
- Andrea (8/5): - Loved that the rooms had a full sized fridge and storage shelves. The floor wasn’t very clean in our room but you can tell they are trying to make some upgrades. Bed was comfy.
- Hollie (2/5): - We pulled into the parking lot and knew there was no sense of us checking in. Property condition was far from desirable or safe.
- Michael (10/5): Nice place! - Nice people-clean room-had a restful night!
- Janet (10/5): - All we needed for an overnight stop. Pleasant staff. Nice comfy bed. Excellent price. Would stay again.
- Jerry (10/5): - The owners truly care. They have thought about your stay and have given it a personal touch.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Probably the best choice in Rawlins - I was passing through and I needed a dog-friendly place to stay the night. The pet fee is only $10 which is lovely. Rawlins felt a bit "creepy" as a solo-female traveler but the staff at this hotel were incredibly nice and the rooms are run-down but immaculately clean. Like I've stayed in much "nicer" hotels that have been dirty, but every tiny nook and cranny of this hotel was immaculate and it's clear that they're trying really hard to maintain it.
It is a very religious (christian) hotel - every wall decoration is a bible quote, there are religious books on loan, requests for donation for their motel church, etc. I don't mind but if that would make you uncomfortable it's just something to know.
- Jo (8/5): - This is an older property but is pretty clean. The shower definitely needs some work done as it’s worn out. Otherwise it’s a throwback to the 50s and 60s.
- Stephanie (10/5): - We got there late, so never came in contact with staff at all, but it was an overnight stay on our way somewhere else, so it worked very well for us
- Verified traveler (8/5): Old, but Comfortable Place - We needed a place to stay overnight in Rawlins. I’ve read the reviews and always wondered about this older motel. The staff was very helpful and efficient. The hotel was older but everything in our room was in working order and we appreciated the full size refrigerator, microwave, and extra shelves for our belongings. The only problem we had was the trash collector came about 5:30 and collected the trash from the big bin next to our room. It was very loud but certainly not the fault of the motel. It was comfortable and convient and we would stay here again.
- Mark (6/5): - Felt a little drab and very religious. Pretty good location, to the extent that downtown Rawlins has much to offer.
- Sean (10/5): - Very late check-in was easy thanks to great communication and a door-code system!
- Gilbert (4/5): They Have Very Nice - We were greeted by the owner, but there were a group of men BBQing, and drinking beer pretty much outside our door from the time we arrived and sometime after 9pm. I wouldn't of really cared about all the loud talk and drinking. But they were drinking BUD!
- travis (10/5): - Clean room. Easy to find.
- Catherine (10/5): Cute and clean - Definitely an old motel but the inside was clean. The shower was big and awesome water pressure. The tv has like 10 local channels, which was odd but not terrible. Full size fridge was nice. WiFi was great. Definitely a good place if you are doing a long-term stay.
- William (10/5): - Super stay and easy to get to.
- Sofia (8/5): - The woman at the front desk was very friendly! The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, and the water was nice and hot. There was free coffee in our room as well which was much appreciated. Overall, I would recommend this place.
- Terry (10/5): Great little motel - This stay was exactly as expected. Met all of my expectations.
- Philip (10/5): Great place - Simple, easy, comfortable Nice fridge & freezer. Appreciated the Christian theme.
- Jim (10/5): - The infrastructure is dated — one almost expects a coin-operated Magic Fingers on the bed — but the staff are so darn nice and the other, seni-permanent residents so welcoming that it feels like home.
- Donnell (10/5): - The hotel staff and owner werw absolute delight. Its not fancy or like your big name hotels but was absolutely perfect for pur needs. It was clean and i could park right outside my door. Thoughtful items werw in room that made the room worth 2x what i paid. Would return in a heartbeat!
- Thomas (8/5): - Older motor lodge but updated nicely. Comfortable bed. Full size fridge.
- Richard (2/5): - Non-English speakers talking and smoking outside our door. Barbeque grills set up on the walk in front of the apartments. Rooms did not seem clean.
- Walker (10/5): - The staff was so nice and the room was kept clean with nice decorations:)
- Dirk (10/5): - Loved the purpose and mission. Had everything we needed for a one night stay while passing through. Liked supporting the mission
- jacksond726 (8/5): Clean, safe, small, but comfortable - I drive long trips with many one night motel stays. This place is one I will use on a regular basis. Not for everyone. This is a great value for any solo or couple traveling on I-80 in Wyoming. The parking lot is pretty full & is sloped. This is a smaller older motel that a local family has put a lot of emphasis on cleanliness, small amenities & has a Christian warmness. No breakfast, but in room coffee pot & fixings. Study chair, several small tables, dresser, full size bed, full size frig, microwave, closet & a large shelving unit. Cozy bathroom has a new sink & toilet, vanity lights and frosted glass window. Lacks enough outlets, made up with powerstrips in all of the floor ones. Bed firm enough, bath towels plain, but thick & soft. There even is a small basket with several cleaning rags in it for you. I looked hard to find dust or grime to no avail. Extremely clean polished wood floor - all glass, the mirror & surfaces areas too. Monthly & weekly clients stay here too. At around $90/night with taxes - will not find a better deal. Highly recommend.
- Janna (10/5): - Although the property is old, the room was well maintained and very clean. The people that operate it were very gracious and kindhearted. The housekeeping staff was friendly and hardworking. Would stay there again. We enjoyed walking around the town. A lot of businesses are abandoned, but someone is working hard to preserve history and improve things.
- Lindsey (8/5): - Great place to rest on a cross country trip
- Joanne (10/5): - We were a little concerned when we arrived. It was very obviously an older motel and the area outside was not terribly clean. It presents as more of a truck stop type of low budget motor lodge. The room itself was very dated with very basic, older furniture and equipment, no tv. We were confused by the high 9+ rating it received on Expedia. However, it was meticulously clean, everything was in good working order, and the bed was very comfortable. As Christians, we loved the Bible messages and decor, and when we discovered the mission statement and the fact that it was being run as an outreach, we were much more impressed. We happily left a donation and a personal note congratulating them on a job well done.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great overnight stay - My husband and I spent the night while traveling to our family vacation
Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, quiet room
- Mark (8/5): - It felt like a cozy mom and pop establishment. We were able to stretch our legs on a scenic and historic walk after we checked in. The shower wasn’t very nice but everything else was quite adequate.
- Ingrid (8/5): - Clean and had everything I required. Some aspects in the room and bathroom were dated. But some things were updated. Great owners.
- SHAWN (8/5): - Property is old and outdated but it is very clean.
- LJ (10/5): - Great option for an overnight stop. Convenient and clean with comfortable beds and wonderful staff!
- Steven (8/5): Nice older motor lodge - The owner was quick to point out places to eat & the tour of Wyoming's old state prison.
- Shirlene (10/5): A great stay - Wonderful people that own it and they have a missionary service that they provide in the area.
- Nathan (6/5): - Since the property had a good rating, I assumed it would be nicer. It was really dated. Our room was connected to office. We could hear people checking in and the lights from office were on all night.
- Susan (10/5): - very nice staff. not overly large but great for $ Informative about local area. clean room and bathroom
- BRYAN (10/5): - GOOD LOCATION AND NICE PEOPLE
- Pamela (4/5): - Owner pleasant and friendly. Room Not handicapped friendly. Told it was. Nice new paint sheets and wall painting. Tiny and dingy especially small hall and tight bathroom
- Paul (8/5): - Very nice motel with great staff. Rooms small, very clean and good for a quick stay.
- Dawn (10/5): - This is the second time that I have stayed at the Brickyard. The first was 2024 and nothing has changed. While old, the rooms are exceptionally clean. This property is great!
- Daniel (10/5): - Great place to spend a night
- Michael (8/5): - Ok, lets be real. This is an older motel in a small cowboy town. Its not the biggest, baddest, glitziest motel ever, but it did have charm. The lady at the front desk was very friendly, the sheets and towels were clean. The water was hot and i slept pretty good. The window air conditioning unit was loud, but I got used to it. The was no outside noise that Ibcould remember. As I prefaced this earlier, this little old motel/inn has charm. It was good for a late night check-in and early check out. Of passing through again, I would stay here again. Price reflected the older motel/inn vibe. Very reasonable.
- Carmen (8/5): - Clean & friendly
- Andrew T (2/5): - This place had virtually NO room security. There wasn't even a deadbolton the door! There was a flimsy chain that a weak 80 year old could easily break. The woman at the service desk was very nice. Heavy church/religious vibe to the place. Rawlins, WY is a VERY sketchy looking town. Lots of road noise, loud trucks. I'll never stay there again.
- William (10/5): - The rooms are small, but very comfortable and clean. Shower fixture was new. The staff is unusually pleasant. It is clear they enjoy their jobs, serving clients.
- Jackie (10/5): - Very nice hotel.quite old but everything was good. Full size frig
- Margaret (10/5): - This was a clean comfortable room for a night of traveling. We had a visitor in the parking lot.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great stay for a reasonable price! - Nice, relatively comfortable stay. No frills small motel. Very dated, but the room and bathroom were clean and just fine.
Although the motel in right on a main road in Rawlins, the traffic noise died down at night, which was nice.
The towels in the bathroom were clean, stain-free and nice a fluffy.
The mattress was a bit too soft for my likely, but was comfortable enough.
A great stay for a reasonable price!
- Donna (8/5): - Very tight getting into parking lot. Lobby staff very friendly and helpful.
- Mary (10/5): - Very cute place to stay. Very nice person checked us in.
- Rick (10/5): - We were late, they give you a door code easy entry for late at night. Very nice people i will stay there any chance i have. This isnt the Hilton just a plain clean inexpensive room
- Mr (8/5): - .
- Jacqueline (6/5): - We arrived after 10am so we received a phone call on checking in. We left at 8AM and the office was not open. We never saw an employee. Although it is affordable and caters to those visiting the nearby prison, it was poorly out dated and could have been cleaner.
- sarakH4351AO (6/5): Just Ok- wouldn't stay again. - The room was very clean as advertised. Furnishings and decor very dated. My main concern was all the religious propaganda in the room - posters, books, and even a request for donations. I have nothing against religion, but please don't push your beliefs on me.
- Susan (8/5): - Great surprise at a reasonable price. Very friendly, good room and well kept up, if a bit outdated
- Darin (10/5): - Simple check in/out. Comfortable mattress in a cozy, clean room.
- ELAINE (8/5): - Was very clean but could really use updating especially with bedding - sheets & pillows old and paper thin.
- Jerald (10/5): - Nice
- Cameron (6/5): - Not sure why this place has such high ratings. It is an average, overly used motel with mediocre housekeeping, noisy guests who come and go at odd hours, and pushy religious messaging. I am sticking to the large chains.
- Michael (6/5): - The property is outdated; it's been updated, but it is just difficult to say it is better than average. The room was cold, and I could not get the room warm with the small wall heater. It is listed as 8.2 stars; it is not that. It okay for the price.
- John (10/5): - Easy check in! Comfortable and clean!
- ColoradoHappyTravel (4/5): Do not trust the high review ratings for this motel. - I saw high ratings for this locally owned motel and thought we would give it a try. While all of the online travel websites showed the price estimate as $64/night, they hotel charged me $89/night (excluding taxes). When I questioned it, they said that was the rate. While I take full responsibility for acquiescing to stay the night, and asked to SEE THE ROOM first, I simply cannot believe this motel has a 4.4/5 rating - there is just NO WAY that it deserves this high of a rating when the price is this high. They have every right as a business owner to display and promote their religious beliefs, however I am not convinced that they actually follow them???
- Brooke (8/5): Great price point - Great price for a clean space. The bed is super comfortable. Certainly the bathrooms and furnishings are old but acceptable for the price. Such kind service.
- Becky Lu (10/5): - It wasn't your typical sterile furnishings, had some unique character and a very kind message. Loved it!
- Mark (10/5): - This is an old motel but well maintained with a strong heater and big refrigerator with freezer. The location is on the Main Street but also walkable to the downtown stores. I enjoyed Caribou coffee in the morning for breakfast just 3 blocks away in the nice downtown area.
- Marklyn (10/5): - Older retro motel. Extremely clean and friendly helpful front desk.
- russs93 (10/5): Great room with great prices and super clean. - Great place to stay, the room was very clean and super comfortable with great beds ( firm ) and a full size fridge with lots of space in the room. We will add this motel too our list of favorites.
Thank you for the hospitality! If you’re looking for short or a long term stay I absolutely recommend the Brick Yard Inn
- Jeffrey N. (8/5): Give the Brickyard Inn a try - This little independent motel in Rawlins, WY is perfect for an overnight stop or a short visit to Rawlins. Our room was exceptionally clean, despite being quite dated and basic. The staff was very friendly and recommended an excellent downtown restaurant that offered motel guests a 10% dinner discount. The Brickyard Inn is off the interstate, quiet and clean.
- Thomas (4/5): - Older property that just needs updated.
- Mary (8/5): - It was OK, nothing terrible. Furnishings and surfaces were dated, moldy caulking in the tub.
Not cleaned very well.
The bed, sheets and towels were all good.
- nolenetacoma (10/5): Dog friendly & super clean - Old fashioned roadside motor court. Owners on site. Super customer friendly. Exceptionally clean and security cameras all over so we felt safe. Could use a new coat of paint but well kept and clean. Not expensive dog friendly place. Great place to stop on our roadtrip. Amazing staff too.
- Gerald (8/5): - It’s an older property. However it was clean, the beds were comfortable and you can park outside your door.
- Jim (10/5): - Friendly, clean, comfortable, spacious. Big refrigerator/freezer was a perk I did not expect. Yeah, it's older. Think of it as going to grandma's house when you were a kid. Only negative was the pickup truck noise going by. That stopped by 10:30, started up at 5:30. Would stay here again.
- Ellen (10/5): - Nice little place to stay. Beds were comfortable.
- Kurt (8/5): - .
- Judith (10/5): Nice little hotel - This is a nice little inexpensive hotel. It is clean, quiet, and there’s plenty of hot water.
- Aaron (8/5): - Clean and safe.
- Brandon (6/5): - Acceptable for price. No major complaints, but I've stayed at many similarly priced places that were both a bit cleaner and comfier, and also less dated. Biggest issue though was the thin walls. I could actually hear my neighbor's snoring throughout the evening. Fortunately, once I'm asleep, stuff like that doesn't really bother me. I'd be OK staying here again in a pinch, but would probably look for something else first if back in the area.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Clean but old - Clean and quiet motel room. Old hodgepodge of furnishings, but a real freezer for our road-trip ice packs was a plus. Bed was uncomfortable, but we just needed a cheap place to stay coming in late on the way to Mount Rushmore. Communication from staff ahead of our stay was very accommodating and helpful.
- Randy (4/5): - The parking lot looked like a war zone. The room was nothing like the photos on the ad. The AC was so noisy we could not sleep. So, if you can’t afford anything else, stay here. Also, the next morning nobody was at the ofgice
- Jesse (10/5): Great value - This was a fantastic place to stay for one night. The bed was super comfortable. The room was nice and the surrounding area felt safe.
- elizabeth (10/5): - The hotel needs some TLC. Bathroom needs work.
