Guest Reviews
- laura (3/5): - I just want to state that you have a lovely woman working for you as a volunteer who made up for the lack of service otherwise your staff would have got a zero because we didn't see any! I think she was aussie! If it were not for her, we would have been super annoyed at the whole situation. We stayed with you because of the proximity to Nagarkot trail. We arrived by taxi really flustered because of the elections being on in the city. The host did not let us know that there were elections and there was no help given with our arrival, bags or even a welcome. We were taken into three dark, foul-smelling rooms which people had obviously been smoking in, which were not clean. One of our rooms did not even have a lock on the door and had a ridiculously hard bed. No hot water at all, despite me asking multiple times, and no heater or gesyer visible.
No communication at all, despite my attempt to speak Hindi with the guy who answered the door.
We asked what time breakfast was, as we had booked it, only to receive a shrug when we asked for 8 or 8.30 - breakfast time came and went in the morning and noone came for us and noone was in the hotel or at the desk. Nothing. Still no hot water either.
THERE IS A WHOLE OTHER SECTION to the hotel over the road - noone told us and the entrance is not easy to see nor visible at night.
The worst thing was that we had to leave in the early morning and noone was around, so we had to leave our bags in one of the rooms and take one key on our trip. When we returned, out of the goodness of our hearts we tried so hard to find someone to check us out and thank goodness, were finally taken to the 2nd part of the hotel.
What makes this worse is that one of my guests was autistic. You have no idea how hard it was for him to sleep without a lock on his door, in a smoky room, on a very hard bed, without breakfast or hot water or any communication. He was so angry and it nearly ruined his trip. You guys need to work better at putting some signage up or welcoming guests. Awful.
- Leonard (1/5): Auf keinen Fall buchen! - Nichts. Das Zimmer war dreckig, das Bad ekelhaft. Steckdosen haben nicht funktioniert.
- Manou (7/5): - Goede locatie met een leuk dakterras. Vriendelijke gastheren. Badkamer was in mindere staat dan de andere verblijven waar ik al verbleef
- Arya (3/5): Poor - Nthinh Every
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional - The place is very confortable, I really enjoyed the roof top where you can enjoy the sun and get beautiful seen on the mountains
- Olate (10/5): Exceptional - I had a lovely stay at Swastik Guest House.
The rooms are big and very clean.
The rooftop is the perfect area to chill anytime of the day.
The staff are amazing:))
- Robert (3/5): Unsatisfactory - Location Plug sockets not working. 2 out of 3. Loose taps in the bathroom. No extra blankets for the cold. Running the shower for 10 minutes or more, as it was still cold and even then it wasn't working properly, but was fixed the following day as there had been a complaint by another traveller. I was totally unhappy in the room, cold outside and inside. I slept with my clothes on, reluctant to have a shower as the water was initially cold. I don't write reviews but needed to this time. Travellers spend a lot of time and money travelling, whilst facing many challenges. The least we want is to get the service specified in the accomodation description.
- Vlad (10/5): Exceptional - Rooftop terrace was lovely, great place to watch the sunset over historical Baktapur, and of course lovely staff! Nothing!
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly, and the hostel and guesthouse are both super comfortable, clean and in a great location. The rooftop area has great views of Bhaktapur and is perfect for getting some sun! Would definitely stay here again!
- Anne (3/5): Depressing. Could have got much better accommodation for same price - Nothing Bedding very poor. Bathroom floor very wet
Room dingy
- Wianda (8/5): Wonderful people - Very friendly staff. The location is perfect, right inside old Bhaktapur! The guest house is wonderfully decorated and has a roof top where you can chill, do yoga and enjoy the lovely view
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - The room is beautiful and comfortable!
There is a wonderful terrace on the building where you can relax in front of a magnificent view of Bakhtapur.
The staff very friendly and helpful, not only for the room. They gave me a lot of suggest about the city, transports, food and other more from their heart.
I arrived as a customer and left as a friend!
I highly recommend this place!
- Bowling (10/5): Why this spot is great: close to all major sightseeing, friendly host and staff, very comfortable - I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was incredibly comfortable, the host and staff were warm and kind. The location is very close to all the recommended sights and restaurants, I would highly recommend to stay here.
- Victoria (10/5): A nice place to spend long time. - I traveled with my partner. Very nice place to stay for few days after a long trip. Near everything and also local athomesphere around. You can meet many travellers at the same time. Nice views on the terrace. Confortable mattress.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - This is our third time back and the staff have done many renovations and continue to improve the Guesthouse. It has a very nice rooftop for sunset and meeting other guests. Bishwo the owner is very helpful and gave us a tour of Bhaktapur. The beds are comfortable and rooms are clean. It s well located and quite. Bhaktapur has a special vibe
- Mohammadsaleh (8/5): Very good - Comfortable, clean, very good and nice staff we com back to this hotel
- Lena (10/5): Best in Bhaktapur - I stayed here for a few months, I loved it here that much. The room had a beautiful view of the old city where the locals would hang out. While I was there they steamed cleaned the carpets, upgraded the wifi, offered to clean my room, any requests were always taken with ease. Bishwo, the owner is absolutely gold, he is always so willing to make sure you have the best time in Nepal and devotes so much of his day to take care of the guests, answer questions, tell you about the cultureand life in Bhaktapur. He really treats you like family. Indu, the young women at the reception is very kind, open and warm hearted. The owner is also running a Hostel across the road, which is a nice place to hang out and meet other travelers, what an absolute bonus. The staff are also building the best rooftop kitchen and bar at the guesthouse, I can't wait to be back!!
- Sami (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kara (10/5): Lovely host - It was my first trip to Kathmandu, and the host made it a wonderful one! He showed me around and also let me explore on my own. The stay was a peaceful and most definitely wonderful one.
