Guest Reviews
- Maggie (10/5): - I liked the fact that it’s close to the airport, about a 20 minute drive. I’ve stayed there for the past 4 years and it has been a great experience. The staff and the food are great. I’d recommend it to anyone.
- Christopher (10/5): - I enjoyed the breakfast, the room service was quick and food was pretty good.
- john (8/5): - Simple clean room.Good location
- Verified traveler (6/5): Okay place - The hotel was very clean, but the shower was not the best. They had the hose attachment only and no shower head up high. So you are forced to shower with the water coming out at knee height, not very comfortable. The restaurant looked like it was just food that’s reheated instead of a home made meal, only had one person working and about 6 choices. Not the worst place if you just need to lay your head, but if you want a restaurant and nice shower try another hotel.
- Aaron (8/5): - Nice hotel, cab from the airport was fairly expensive
- Steve (8/5): - the place was clean, although the small sofa in the room has seen better days. The space was very dated, and the shower was sub par - not really a shower (just a hand-held) with low pressure and the tub was narrow, so curtain often in the way. The cost for a small soda was very high.
- Yashwin Patel (2/5): - They were not ready to keep luggage for one day. So please check their luggage retain policy. We requested to keep for one day and they were not ready.
- kareem (6/5): - It was good enough for an overnight layover
- Karen (8/5): - We loved the complimentary breakfast. Our room was pretty small with a outdated bathroom. We only stayed here overnight which worked fine for us. Staff were nice and hospitable.
- Dimitrios (10/5): - Very nice and clean hotel..
- Lefteris (8/5): - Friendly,clean good service
- Claire de (4/5): - Its far from metro, otherwise its clean and comfortable.
- Andrew (8/5): - Staff excellent. Room excellent. Mattress could be replaced.
- Angela (10/5): - Lovely quiet clean hotel ,friendly staff ,modern facilities. Apart from the shower, the only complaint was the bath was too small with handheld shower.
- Micheline (6/5): - Staff good breakfast good
- Guy (10/5): - Easy to find. Quick check-in. Clean and tidy hotel. Comfortable bed. Efficient check-out. Good location for quick food etc. Convenient for airport via 20mins taxi (time of day varies). Best price compared to everywhere else. Easy booking via Expedia.
- Michelle (8/5): Pleasant 1 night stay before an early flight - Great simple hotel close to little bars and restaurants. We stayed here for one night because we wanted to be closer to the airport for an early morning flight the next day. Front desk agent was very nice and pleasant, lobby was cute, room was clean and comfortable.
- gilda (10/5): - It was cheaper when i booked it. Got 2 rooms and the people in the front desk was nice, helpful and accommodating. Had a nice stay for the price...
- James (10/5): - Great location in a nice, safe, and economical area. Close to the airport by car, public transportation, or taxi. Breakfast is good too for the price.
- James (10/5): - Great place in Chalandri. Close to airport by car or Public transportation, as well as the highway. Breakfast is good for the price.
- Theodore (10/5): - Best value for the money, professional staff, nice breakfast and very clean rooms.
- emmacI9687HA (10/5): Thank you - Great value for money. Nice clean rooms. Reception staff were kind and very helpful. I would recommend trying the restaurant To Vrasto amazing Greek food, the ones on the main road are over priced and aimed at tourists. Thank you for a wonderful stay
- James (8/5): - A clean, friendly hotel. Nice choice at the breakfast buffet.
Only negative point is bathroom could do with upgrading, maybe that’s just me being picky.
Overall we had a good stay.
- Tzimi (10/5): Very nice no-frills hotel, very convenient for airport access. - I stayed at the Acropol during the last two weeks of September 2022. I had a room on the 4th floor, at the back of the building, so it was fairly quiet. It's about a Km from Halandri Metro station, so fairly walkable, depending on luggage. It's very convenient for the airport, being only 5 stops away. My double room was a decent size, with a nice balcony, offering an average view. The bathroom was small and the fittings were maybe a little tired, but it was functional. The shower worked well- although there wasn't a high anchor point, so you had to hold the handset. There was a wall-mounted TV & air conditioning. The 24-hour reception staff were very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast area off the lobby had a selection of large & small tables, & breakfast offered was varied- anything from cerial, to bacon, eggs, bread, baked pies etc. Coffee was from a machine, and not the best! However, the staff were very friendly & helpful. One small problem was the lack of a DND sign to hang outside the door! Also, I missed having a kettle to make my own coffee in my room. Apart from these minor issues, I thought the hotel was very clean & pleasant, and I enjoyed my stay.
- Fabiodubai (2/5): Steal money - I booked 2 Nights for my girlfriend. They charged me 4 nights. They said they made a mistake but They didn't give me money back . I guess They steal money from clients. Wrost hotel ever, police should close this hotel.
- bblb-bblb (10/5): Polite counter staff - Was in the area and needed to use the bathroom. Counter staff was very polite and guided me to their bathroom. Bathroom was clean and well equipped. It was not luxurious but had what you needed. We also heard counter staff offering good deals to family who just popped in for check in. Very nice and clean no frills hotel if you are looking for a stay.
- Florin (10/5): - We had a midnight check-in, but they have staff 24-7
- Sylvia (10/5): - Nice hotel outside the main city
- Floyd (8/5): - I was very pleased with everything about this hotel including its price. The 2 exceptions were: my room was a bit too warm although I did not complain and I found the shower awkward, The euro shower was in a bathtub that was difficult to stand in (very narrow at the base). I have never experienced this before. I would definitely return if I came back to Athens but not in the summer.
- Ozgur (10/5): - Awesome architecture of past. Classic style hotel. Good level of Personnel.
- Alina (10/5): - Acropol is a wonderful place to stay. Rooms are very clean and cozy. Breakfast is exceptional. But more importantly, stuff and especially frontdesk people are very helpful and extremely nice! Loved staying there and already back to stay again
- Bojedana (8/5): - The staff was most helpful and friendly. The single room was lovely and view of the garden from the balcony lovely. Only reason I did not give excellent rating the restaurant served only American-like food,
No Greek food partially due to Covid restrictions.
- LeeScottRob (8/5): A decent stay for a night - We only stayed for one night as we were looking for a hotel not in the centre of Athens but within easy reach of shops and restaurants (and Chalandri fits the bill perfectly).
We arrived early evening and the hotel wasn’t busy and the receptionist helped us immediately. Check in was quick and efficient and we were told all the important things we needed to know about the hotel. The foyer is quite nice and spacious, breakfast would be served there also but I needed to leave early and didn’t have time to sample the breakfast. Our room was on the third floor, and the room was extremely clean and comfortable. The beds were particularly comfortable and the room had just about enough space considering we had many luggages. Linen was of a good quality and extremely clean. The bathroom was a little dated however the pressure of the shower was very good with plenty of hot water and had basic amenities.
Overall we had a good stay, the hotel does need some modernising to bring it up to more modern standards but the hotel was perfectly serviceable, clean and well organised.
- ANNA (10/5): - Clean and near shops
- Vas (10/5): - Friendly staff, always eager to help
- Ermioni (10/5): Excellent Hotel - Extremely well looked after hotel, clean. Perfect for my trip. And the breakfast was excellent.
- PeterDavenport (6/5): Functional, clean, no frills… - The property is unfortunately positioned in the middle of a building site right now, with huge diggers and equipment in close proximity. A view of the Parthenon is certainly not on offer.
Night staff were unfriendly and the guy checking us in would’ve clearly rather been in his bed. Rooms are small, functional but clean, bathroom was tiny and tired. Beds comfortable and air-con worked well.
Breakfast was okay.
Overall you get what you pay for, and £30 each with breakfast was reasonable value. It’s more of a 2* hotel to be honest, and flatters to deceive as most of the photos on the website were taken in a corner of the ground floor not used by guests.
It’s easy to reach from the airport, and about 30 minutes from the cruise terminal, so well positioned for these.
Next time we’ll spend a little more, and stay elsewhere.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very clean and the staff very nice
- kernpanik (4/5): Quite OK, but so loud … - I hate to give such a negative review, because the reason for my rather unpleasant stay was not the fault of the staff. The room was OK and clean, and the personell always acted professionally.
However at night it was SO loud due to the busy road in front of the hotel. It's not just regular cars passing by, but also motorbikes, some with extremely loud engines. To make things worse, some large dog barked all night in the close neighbourhood, making it really difficult to get some sleep even with earplugs. I asked for a room on the back side of the hotel, but unfortunately, none was available.
Because of all the noise, I can only rate the hotel two stars. The second star is for the lovely staff at the breakfast room and garden area who did a wonderful job.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great crew and respectful staff!!! Simple but warm environment!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - One cannot find a better value for the money than the Acropol Hotel. I usually stay at 5-star properties both for business and pleasure, but I always choose the Acropol when visiting family because of its location. I have had occasional problems with the expensive properties over 35+ years of traveling around the world, but I never had an issue with the Acropol in any of my 6+ stays.
- Demitris (10/5): Good hotel - Very good staff.
- Gail (8/5): - Location is convenient to drive to Athens airport, rooms are clean, staff is helpful. Unfortunately, there is no hotel parking and it was quite difficult to find a parking spot nearby.
- Barbara (8/5): Good neighborhood hotel - The hotel served my purposes for a 6-day stay. It was clean and the location was good for me.
- Ozzie (10/5): - Classic Designed and architected Hotel. Very Good Staff.
- amanerr (8/5): Moderate - No private parking. You have to storm the wild roads of halandri to safely park your car. A lot of noise even after midnight from the streets. Many restaurants and cafes at a 500 meter distance. Breakfast ok. Decent staff. Not very impressed.
- Paula (8/5): - The location was perfect for visiting my sister and everything was as should be.
- Metayel1 (6/5): Good option if you come by late flight - We choose this hotel because it is only 20 minutes from the AP and easily accessible. No parking but you can park on the street. Rooms are clean and nice but the bathroom is old ( but clean)
Breakfast was ok but no fresh juice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel was in a great area, it was very clean and the staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. My stay was beautiful
- grigas86 (6/5): Woken up by plumbing repairs - This hotel is not bad, clean and very friendly staff. Room service was delicious and inexpensive. My issue is at 8am I was woken up by someone VERY LOUDLY working on the plumbing in the room next door. Seriously it was hammering and banging through the walls for a couple hours at least. So much for getting a good night sleep. Probably should have been done during the day.
- John (10/5): - We were very pleased with our stay. The area was great and the breakfast in the morning was fantastic. We will return.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The third bed was a couch. Expected a bed. The bathroom was fabulous! The view was blah. Breakfast basic.
- Steven (10/5): Wonderful staff and nice room - The staff members were incredible. For the checkout day they had called our taxi for a 5am checkout and had made us a breakfast to take with us. I can’t say enough of how impressed we were with the staff.
The room itself was really clean, simple, and suited our needs as a couple. The biggest disappointment was the shower. The shower head was a pull out but it didn’t have a hook at head level, so in order to actually “shower” you have to hold the shower head the whole time, extremely inconvenient.
Overall, great experience and one I recommend. It was about a 15 minute walk to the nearest metro that will mostly take you to Acropolis or Plaka.
- MARIOSO2222 (2/5): Very very poor hotel - The food (kebab) was full the staff had a fight and everyone in the breakfast was hearing the the room very small and especially the bathroom old and small, to issue a receipt it took them a hole day and my 9 month child got an allergy from something, when we asked for a baby high chair they said they did i not have. Very bad experience.
- autopop (10/5): Problem Solved - We were going to an island via Pireas, but the issue was that our flight was not landing till 2200 hrs at Athens. Having stayed in Plaka before we knew it was fairly expensive to both sip and kip. Booked a taxi through the hotel web-site to collect us from airport for €43, it is good to see your name on bit of paper, except when there is about 200 drivers, and were in hotel bar by 2225 watching Tottenham v Ajax. The reception staff were professional and helpful. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable, surprisingly the bathroom was a whopper, by Greek standards, I did not have cat handy to test it. It was not until the following morning that we saw the very good sized balcony, we were facing the back which was not pretty but obviously quieter. An excellent breakfast was served including bacon, sausage eggs, a selection breads cake and juices and very drinkable coffee. It is easy walking distance of Chalandri where there were several restaurants, banks and shops. We paid €4 for a taxi to Pentelis station and €1.40 for train to Pireas, nod to Yiassas.
I would consider this hotel if staying in Athens as it is cheaper, all the surrounding restaurants would be cheaper and it appeared a nice quiet residential area
- laserkid (6/5): On outskirts of Athens - Convenient location, if you come to Athens by plane. The rooms are small and the bathrooms look rather basic. The biggest problem is the noise coming all night from the busy street, especially if you have windows from the front side. The breakfast is more or less satisfactory and the staff helpful and polite. Arriving in the night could be the problem to find the parking place. Price acceptable.
- travelingstudent2020 (8/5): Good Value; Good Room - I took the “Blue Line #3” train between the Athens airport and Chalandri station. It is a 15 min. walk from the train station to the hotel, and easy to find using Google maps. The train cost 10€ each way (to compare: a taxi driver quoted me 30€ one way). Acropol Hotel is listed as being convenient to the airport, which is true once you know what train to get on (thank you Acropol Hotel website) and figure out your way to the hotel. Check-in went smoothly and everyone was friendly. The hotel restaurant was not open in the evening, but there is a convenience store and a couple restaurants nearby. This hotel is on the outskirts of Athens, so not near the sites (but use the train). The elevator is interesting. You open a heavy door, then the automatic doors open. Same in reverse: the automatic doors open, then you open another door to get out into the hallway. I think the elevator would be difficult for an older person alone or someone in a wheelchair. My room had a bathtub with a shower, balcony, free wifi and a TV. This was a quiet, clean room with a comfortable bed. The breakfast in the morning was buffet style with breads, fruit, eggs, and Gingerbread men! I enjoyed this hotel and felt it was a good value. I would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Very good value not too far from Athens Airport - I enjoyed my visit to the Acropol Hotel and the price was reasonable. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, there was a TV, bathtub and balcony too. My stay included free internet and free breakfast buffet-style with fruit, bread, eggs, and gingerbread men. Note that there are two doors to get into the elevator: a first door you open yourself, then the automatic doors. It is a 15-minute walk from the hotel to the train station. The train from Chalandri Station to the airport cost 10€ on the Blue Line no. 3. This hotel is a good alternative to the pretty pricey hotels next to the airport.
- Muhannad (10/5): - Second time staying here and can’t speak highly enough about all the staff and how accommodating they all are.
- Alexkollia8 (10/5): Excellent! - Each time I visit is better than the previous, they keep upgrading their rooms and services. Congrats to the kind personnel, extremely clean room, and the breakfast is amazing ( different kinds of eggs , pastries , local goods all kinds of beverages & more) Highlights: Renovated wc , 24h room service. Definitely recommended!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Best value for the money. Staff are very friendly, rooms and public areas very clean, good breakfast, safe area, 20 minutes from the airport.
- Ted (10/5): - Good, clean hotel, very well managed with polite and efficient staff. Great value for the money.
- Linda (10/5): - i wish the locks on the door were of a different type. did not feel as secure as i am used to.
- Richard (10/5): - Excellent , well kept hotel. Easy to access just near the E94 enroute to the airport. Great for business or transit to the airport. Nice park and neighbourhood behind the hotel.
- Michael (10/5): - Good location to the main highway. A little too far to walk to the nearest Metro station
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Small room but has all necessities. Helpful and friendly staff.
- natalya (10/5): - great place!!! we loved it and would stay again when in Athens
- ANNA MAE (8/5): Good Stay - Everything is good. Breakfast is nice.
- Erez (6/5): Overnight stay - We have been at the hotel for few hours only before our early morning flight so the hotel impression is very limited.
- Charles (8/5): Good value in north Athens suburb. Noisy street. - We needed a room for two nights on short notice due to reservation problems, and not too far from Athens airport. A search showed a good price at the Acropol with 4 and 5 star reviews.
It's an older hotel but kept in very good condition. The bathtub is narrow and the shower really needs an overhead hook to hang it from. Full breakfast was included and also good. Our only complaint is that it's on a street with a lot of traffic, and the older balcony door did not keep all the noise out. Other reviews say the courtyard side is quieter than the street side, if available. It's about a 20 minute cab ride to the airport (30-35 Euro). Overall, a good value with friendly staff and a nice clean room.
- Geno (8/5): Great Deal! - Stayed one night. Terrific deal for $30.00. Very old hotel but clean and well maintained.
- Mary (2/5): - I booked this hotel because you listed it as close to the airport. I came in at 2am. JOEL WAS NOT CLOSE TO THE AIRPORT. I paid $60for the taxi.
Terrible, terrible to list hotel close to the airport when it's 20 miles away.
- Colin (10/5): Excellent service - Excellent service, provided take-away breakfast box for early departure.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great for a quick stay!! - The room was small but the staff was very accommodating. We got there late at night and left early morning. The staff arranged breakfast for us before we left really early like before breakfast really starts. Didn't get to explore the area but there were place to get things.
- Effie (8/5): - Nice hotel, though the beds are arather hard. Lots of noise from other hotel guests at night, but I called the reception and they got them quiet
- Verified traveler (10/5): - There is a 24h front desk, and staff is really helpful. The location is a little bit far away from the public transport.
- lee (8/5): good - was not there long but hotel was fine for my needs
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel - Excellent hotel overall! Staff was very nice and friendly. Breakfast bar was delicious. The bed was a little hard, but overall the room was nice. Located in a wonderful up and coming district with lots of shopping and fantastic food.
- Joyce (8/5): The staff were friendly and accommodating. - I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating, and my room was quite comfortable. I would recommend this hotel, especially for a short stay for someone who is exploring Greece.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Acropol Hotel meets Expectations! - Friendly and helpful staff.
Entire hotel is smoke free.
Prompt service.
Low rates.
Convenient access to Chalandri and Athens.
- Siyu (10/5): - Very good
- Verified traveler (10/5): Acropol - Decent location, a .75 mile walk to the train to get you to Athens. Local area had a few restaurants but nothing spectacular. Easiest way to get to hotel from airport was taxi or Uber. Uber was only $22.
- Saadi (10/5): Great Stay - This is now the Hotel I book every time i go to Greece, I like the staff they are really friendly. The breakfast is great, always hot water and the air conditioning system is perfect. The Internet is fast and reliable. Plus the hotel is close to Chalandri main street which is filled with restaurants, coffee shops and clothing stores. It is highly recommended for a stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was great! A lovely refuge after a long day of fight mistakes at the airport
- osteopath (8/5): Course education - The hotel is: good location to: metro station 20 min, to downtown walk 15 min, close supermarket 7 min walk,
The room was very clean and staff bey helpful, there was buffet in the morning, excellent!! The only suggestion for the bathroom shower suggestions is: the water doesn't come from up , you have to hold in your head the shower extension to wash your upper body and head, and I think this will be great hotel to update if they can ? Otherwise every thing was great!
- Deborah (8/5): Great place to stay close to airport - We chose this hotel because it was close to the airport and had gotten good reviews! We were impressed w the hotel and our room--loved the vanilla potpourri smell in the bathroom too! Room was nice and clean with a balcony overlooking the street. Hotel staff were very helpful and after getting in late, suggested the Italian resto across the street from the hotel to go to for dinner. It was delicious! Overall a good place to stay!
- LoveToTravel (8/5): Convenient location to airport - The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from Halandri metro station. There are taxis outside the station which can take you to the hotel in about 5mins.
There are direct trains to/from the airport from this station as well, roughly 25 minutes.
The hotel was clean with polite and helpful staff, although my experience with the late night/early morning shift wasn't great. Rude and unhelpful, so I'd recommend any issues discuss with day staff as they're more approachable.
About 10mins walk from the hotel is the high street with places to eat and shop, especially lively at night with bars and a couple of alfresco dining. H&M, Zara are a few of the popular stores there.
The hotel breakfast buffet was good but not much variety. Descent enough to fill one up for a couple of hours.
All in all it was a good experience, if you're a light sleeper like me I would advise you ask for a room away from the main road. There's a cute garden behind, lovely to just sit and relax or have a glass of wine with dinner.
- Steve (10/5): Comfortable hotel in the Athens suburbs - Part of the purpose for our visit to Athens was to spend some time with family who live in Chalandri. The Acropol was ideally located for us. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and had all the facilities we needed. Air conditioing in the rooms made for comfortable nights.
The hotel is about 20 minutes walk from Chalandri metro station, which is just a 20 minute ride into the centre of the city.
Staff were friendly, efficient and welcoming. We'd be happy to return in the future.
- Bernard (8/5): Great service, close location to airport - We stayed 1 night before flying our of ATH the next morning, as it was closest to the airport without paying the Airport hotel premium. Good value for transiting, and staff was very courteous. They prepared our complimentary breakfast even though we had to leave for our flight at 03h45. Only con is that the door lock is very basic with no deadbolt.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice , and safe environment, friendly staff - Good, staff always working to help with request.easy access to many places
- Dimitri (10/5): Excellent value hotel with friendly staff - Great location , excellent value & good breakfast
- Saadi (10/5): Great Hotel and Staff - One of the best hotels i've ever stayed in, the rooms re really clean and the staff are super friendly and the service is amazing they have everything you need in the hotel and will do everything to make you feel comfortable.
- Demetris (10/5): - Very comfortable stay. Stuff very friendly and very obliging. Restaurant menu is a little restricted but food is not bad considering it is a small hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Convenient location - Good value for money and conveniently located in walking distance from Metro. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Full marks.
- Anna (10/5): Clean and comfortable - Very helpful staff good breakfast would definitely come again
- Helena (8/5): Convenient and good suburb - Asked for early breakfast at 5.30am and they were very obliging
