Guest Reviews
- francisco (10/5): - Friendly staff
Location very close to main plaza
- Danielle (8/5): - In city center and welcoming.
- Xavier (10/5): - My wife and I stayed here on our journey to Machu Pichu. The whole experience was just excellent. The place was beautiful, safe, and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and always ready and willing to help us in anything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.
- Maria Isabel (10/5): - En el corazón de Cuzco, un hotel cómodo con personal muy amable.
- Russell (10/5): - Good location, half block from main plaza. Clean room, helpful staff.
- Aziz (10/5): - Very close to everything you need. Very clean and nice people.
- JUDY (4/5): Not as described in listing - Breakfast was very limited, did offer cook to order eggs but not much else.
Entire hotel is open air except for rooms so was extremely cold at night. Only heat was a small oil heater in room. It barely warmed the room. At least bed was comfortable and had plenty of cover. Had warm water (couldn’t call it hot).
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel listing did not correctly describe the place.
Was definitely not what I was expecting. I would not describe it as 3star! More like a 1 if that much.
- Katya (6/5): - The staff is really nice and amazing, they make your stay feel like you’re at home. The property is very old with poor maintenance but it’s very well located, steps from the main square and you can walk everywhere. It’s good for a quick stay.
- Patricia (10/5): - It’s my second time staying at this hotel, the people who work in Yabar hotel are so attentive and very friendly.
- lorena (10/5): - It was clean and the staff very friendly. I will come back again.
- eric (4/5): - no hot water to take a shower and the room temperature was really cold ,and the room really noisy, the location and the staff are exelent.
- Cristina (10/5): - Staffs are very attentive and helpful
- Julio A Gonzalez (10/5): - Great location, so friendly staff, the area is noisy (not about the hotel, is the neighborhood)
- Mariangela (8/5): - Great place to stay if you want to be downtown and near all the tourist areas. No elevator but great service!
- Mariangela (10/5): - We loved staying at the Yabar Hotel. One thing to remember is that it doesn’t have an elevator so you need to get your luggage upstairs if you are on the second floor. The staff was super attentive and helpful. My dad forgot his gold wedding gift and they found it and kept it for us. People are very honest and friendly.
- Huy (6/5): High price for location only - An average hotel with limited breakfast selections.
The night front desk lady was much nicer than the one during the day.
Great location to the main square.
- Edwin (10/5): - The location is very convenient, right at the center and for its category is an excellent option!
- John (10/5): Great hotel in a great location - A fantastic hotel right next to the Plaza de Arms. The staff are amazing and went out of their way to make our trip truly memorable.
Great breakfast to start the day. I’d have no hesitation recommending this hotel.
- Je'well (10/5): - The overall hotel is basic but (Alberto, I think is his name) working the front desk made the stay amazing. He went over and above to make sure I was comfortable. I will definitely stay here again mainly because Alberto provided great customer service.
- martin (10/5): - staff are amazing, very good location
- Eiko (8/5): Great location - I made a booking for 1 night last minute as I decided to stay 1 extra night in Cusco. The location couldn't be better, just a few steps away from Plaza de Armas, but it was not facing the square so it was noy too noisy at night.
The room was spacious with a good sized bathroom. Unfortunately I could not try the breakfast as I had to check out very early to catch my flight.
The receptionists were friendly, they also booked a taxi to the airport for me.
I would stay again.
- Ian (10/5): - Fantastic location for the main square and really helpful staff. We also used the laundry service which was very good.
- Lucia Gama and Bron (10/5): - Very convenient location for day trips and walking around town. The staff was Fantastic! Mari cooked us breakfast every morning and was such a pleasure to chat with. All the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Any downtown hotel will be a bit loud due to its location, but earplugs work great! Cannot recommend enough!
- Maria (10/5): - The hotel was just perfect, good price and very convenient a few steps away from plaza de Armas in Cuzco.
- Claudia (8/5): - Location was excellent.
They should put hair driers in the bathroom.
- Stephanie (10/5): - This was the most amazing hotel! The staff were so nice, willing to help with recommendations, and flexible with breakfast tour hours. The only minimal downside was the lack of soundproofing. They have oxygen and cocoa leaf tea on hand for altitude sickness and other tea for reducing stress. They know the local pharmacies to go to for local medicine, best cafes, and anything else you may need. A
- Manish (10/5): - great location in city center. but had to walk with luggage about 5 mins since it was middle of plaza.
- Fernando (10/5): - Very good
- Lidia (10/5): - The staff was so helpful, getting for me every single request. The hotel is very well located to walk access everything around.
- Guillermo (10/5): - Second time I stay in this hotel with my family they’re very friendly super clean best location
- Manish (6/5): - The staff was very friendly and the location very convenient right in middle of town.
The hotel was old building and the wooden floor creaked and you could hear every conversation at the reception. But would recommend due to location and overall experience.
- Shayne (6/5): Cosy, good location - Great location, staff were extremely friendly.
Very noisy as our room was right next to reception and under the staircase for the second floor.
- Jessica (10/5): Excellent staff - From the moment we got there the staff (Karino, Melisa and Samir) was welcoming and helpful. The location is amazing, one block from the square, enough distance to muffle the sounds but close enough for a quick walk. The building itself is old and not modernized, however that is part of the charm. I cannot express enough how amazing the staff is. They made our trip better than we could have imagined. They had great recommendations, and helped us every step of the way.
- Michelle (8/5): - Great spot if you are seeking for convenience of location where most tours depart and at the same plaza with restaurants and shops. Very helpful staff. My experience with the room I was assigned was average and not private.
- Jessica (10/5): Excellent staff - From the moment we got there the staff was welcoming and helpful.
- Sunil (10/5): - Excellent location….best friendly staff. Nice clean bathroom and best hot water for shower. Bit too quiet and cold in winter time (May). Wish they can some music system in reception area and add smalll heaters in the room.
- Diane (10/5): - The location was great, you could walk to everything. Places to eat were close by and the staff was great!
The only downside, the building is old so you hear everything, it was very loud, it was very difficult to sleep!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Right on the Plaza de Armas, very friendly helpful staff.
- Marla (8/5): - Great staff, convenient location
- Kai (10/5): - My wife and I with 2 teenage kids had a wonderful 3-nights stay at Yabar Hotel during the Carnival/Festival week. We booked two rooms, and the hotel helped to arrange the rooms next to each other. This hotel's location is at the heart of the Cuzco, less than one minute walk to the main plaza, and 10 minutes walk to almost everything in Cuzco historic area. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a historical building, but with modern amenities inside, very neat, clean and cool, especially if you like to stay in a old historical house. By the way, if you get altitude sickness, they have oxygen bottle ready in the lobby, and will make coca tea for you. Loved the experience there.
- Craig (10/5): - Amazing location near the central plaza. Clean rooms. Really cool staying in a place with history. Staff was very friendly. Samir was great! Would stay there again.
- Leiber Alejandro (10/5): - My stay at Yabar Hotel Plaza was unforgettable. Positioned near Cusco's main square, it offered convenience and comfort, from the welcoming staff to the cozy rooms. The breakfasts were a delightful start to each day, and the hotel's proximity to key attractions made exploring Cusco easy. The warmth and assistance from the staff made it feel like a home away from home.
- Ian (10/5): - Wonderful staff
- Daniel (10/5): Great Hotel! - This was my first time staying at this hotel and I was very pleased with everything. I received my upgrade to a king room and the staff was amazing! Thank you for the great service and we will be back.
- Celine (10/5): Great location super service - Right in the middle of everything at Plaza de Armas. Super staff that will give you oxygen if you need it. Large comfortable room. Extra clean.
- Tyler (10/5): Can't wait to go back - The staff here were fantastic, and the location was great. I would stay here again without a second thought. They helped make our stay in Cusco better.
- JESSICA A. DE LA (10/5): - Hotel is close to the city center. We were able to walk to attractions, dining and shopping areas.
- Chandana (10/5): - Yabar Hotel Plaza was centrally located within walking distance of the main plaza, restaurants, and all the city's main landmarks. The Hotel had tall doors, was secure and had good amenities.
- scott (10/5): - The Yabar is located on a side alley 50 ft. from the Plaza Major de Cusco and all the restaurants and shops surrounding the area. The atmosphere was wonderful. There is great history at the Yabar - nestled between two monasteries linked to the cathedral on the Plaza.
The staff was incredibly attentive and supportive of all my requests.
Special thanks to Sam, Karina and Melissa - the incredible 24 hour support team at the Yabar.
- francisco (10/5): - los recomendaría ampliamente
- Carolina (10/5): - Everything was excellent!!
- Michael (10/5): - Amazing service and right next to Plaza de Armas
- chris (10/5): - Staff at Yabar Hotel made the difference.
Samir, Melissa, Karina, and Alberto very friendly, very professional, and very helpful and making this day better
- Arthur (10/5): - Nestled amidst the cobblestone streets of Cusco, Peru, Yabar Hotel is a delightful family-owned gem that encapsulates the essence of warmth, tradition, and hospitality. Our recent stay at Yabar Hotel was nothing short of a memorable experience, and it's clear that this hotel is a labor of love for its owners.
From the moment we stepped through the intricately carved wooden doors, we were transported to a world of Andean charm and hospitality. The lobby's cozy ambiance, adorned with traditional textiles and rustic décor, immediately set the tone for our stay. The warm smiles and genuine greetings from the staff made us feel like we were part of their family.
The true magic of Yabar Hotel lies in the personalized service and attention to detail. The staff a specially Melissa and Samir was always ready with recommendations and tips for exploring Cusco, and they went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. It's evident that the owners take immense pride in their establishment, and it reflects in the level of care provided to guests.
The location of Yabar Hotel is another major plus. Situated just a short walk from the historic center of Cusco, it offers easy access to the city's main attractions, including Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, and San Pedro Market. After a day of exploration, it was a pleasure to return to the tranquility of Yabar Hotel.
We can't wait to return to this charming hotel on our next visit to Cusco.
- Julio (10/5): - The hotel staff is very friendly, they made me feel like home. The location is excellent. Highly recommended
- Young-Ae (6/5): - Nice and very close to the main center but very old and noisy on the floor
- Simon (10/5): Comfy in Cusco - Great location just off of the main square. We had a large comfortable downstairs room. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. Breakfast was a Continental buffet style which was good. The staff were all very friendly and Samir was the star who did everything to make us feel relaxed and at home. We would most definitely stay there again.
- Fernando (10/5): Friendly and Centric - The receptionist was very friendly and even helped me order great food at midnight. Totally recommend staying here.
- Marcos (10/5): Great location and service - Amazing location, great service, tasty breakfast, at a few-like-home place just a few steps from Cusco's Plaza de Armas. Special thanks to Samir and the amazing staff at the hotel.
- Marcos (10/5): Great location - Great location and amazing staff. Breakfast - you pick your time slot - is good and it's a good start for the day exploring the nearby (and many) attractions.
- Bartlomiej (10/5): - This hotel is a hidden gem in the heart of Cusco. Everyone is very helpful, breakfast is delicious, and it is very close to everything. If I come back, I definitely would! I also especially enjoyed working with Samir who is friendly and helpful through our entire trip! 10/10!
- NORMAN (10/5): - Friendly staff. Big room. Two-minute walk to Plaza de Armas. Good breakfast. Guests should be aware there is no elevator but staff is on the ready to help with luggages. There is no heating in the room but portable electric heaters are available on request. Beds have thick thermal blankets. Creaky floor but it wasn’t a problem for us. Very good value.
- Rolando (10/5): - The staff were exceptional. They were friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with any request. Whether it was arranging transportation or providing recommendations for local attractions, their knowledge and professionalism were commendable.
The hotel's location was also a big plus. It was conveniently situated near popular landmarks , making it effortless to explore the city.
- Tyson (8/5): Location Win - Location to the Plaza De Armas, the cultural center of the city, is amazing. Forty meters from the square.
Hotel is in an original building, so you get the quaint feeling of original design, but that beings said, the floors are super loud when you walk.
Staff were super friendly and the room was clean.
- Pedro (10/5): - Good hotel
- Vanessa (8/5): - You are not staying here for the hotel, you are staying here for the people. They are kind, sweet, gentle and ready to take care of you.
- Gregory C (10/5): - Unbeatable location near Plaza de Armas.
- Avijit (10/5): - Next to Plaza de Armas
- Avijit (10/5): - Next to Plaza de Aarmas .Lot of dinig options nearby
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel on plaza de armas - Very friendly professional staff. Room was massive and had a great shower. Very comfortable and very clean. Right on the plaza de armas
- Albert (10/5): - The concierge,Samir, is a complete gentleman. Very friendly, accommodating to all of our request. Helpful in restaurants and tour selections. Yabar Hotel is located within Plaza de Armas, the main square of Cusco. Nice, secure area with many shop, restaurants, pharmacies, and financial institutions for exchange or withdrawing of funds. I highly recommend Yabar Hotel
- Emily (8/5): - Everything was excellent. My only complaint is I arranged to have someone pick us up from the airport and no one was there.
- Trent (8/5): Great spot - This place is super close to the Plaza de Armas. Within walking distance of a whole bunch of shops and restaurants. Very convenient spot
- Janine (8/5): - Perfect location- directly in Plaza de Armas. Staff was so helpful in assisting us with finding COVID tests before our return flight and holding out luggage during the day while we were out/after check out. Room was very large, bed was comfortable, water pressure in shower was great. Breakfast could be better, but a decent enough small meal to hold you over for a bit.
- Vicki (6/5): - Great location and friendly staff. The hotel was very basic and more like a hostel
- Moses (8/5): Good value proposition - Good value option within a stones throw from Plaza De Armas. Oxygen available which was a life saver due to altitude sickness. Service was excellent. Beds were old but again a good value proposition.
- Adele (10/5): - Great
- Jorge (10/5): - All the employees were great, even though I don't think this is a 3 star hotel, the personal is definitely 5 star people.
We stayed 4 days location was incredible!
- Priscilla (10/5): Great Cusco Stay - Great stay! Rooms were adequate, location was great, and breakfast was great!
- John (8/5): Good Location, Helpful Staff - Great central location right on the the Plaza. Helpful staff. Good sized room. My bedroom a bit odd in that it had no windows (bathroom did) only a skylight so no way to keep light out at 5.30am. Other rooms may be different.
- Cecilia (4/5): - It is nothing like the photos. Expedia 's fees are horribly overcharged. The room was cold but it had a heater. The extra blanket smelled to urine. The towels were tiny and the edges were flaking. The haidryer was on for 20 seconds and off for 2 minutes! Try drying your hair like thst. The packed breakfast was a miserable ham and tiny slice of cheese , a banana and bottled water. I had asked for cheese only and got this mortadela slice with a faint slice of cheese. That was allegedly worth Usd$5.00. Shocking! The night guard was a gem.
- Maribel S (10/5): - Right on the Plaza de Armas, close to everything. Staff very attentive. Breakfast was included, very good selections. We also had to leave extremely early one morning, before breakfast is served. They made breakfast sandwiches for us to take with us.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Nice bedroom, heater barely works, gets really cold, the worst is that you have to gobto other hotel in order for them to open the door, same with breakfast, you have to go tonother hotel
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place in a great location
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Yabar Hotel is in the heart of the Plaza De Armas and is in walking distance to most attractions. The staff was extremely lovely and hard working. The bed was very comfortable and the shower with a never ending supply of hot water. The facilities are not new, but the comfort of being there makes up for it!
- Lenora (10/5): - It was clean. The hotel is dated. Has a unique charm. The staff was very friendly and eager to help in anyway. They really look out for their guests.
- Nicolas (8/5): Great Location - Great place, that is literally next to the main plaza de armas. People are very courteous and helpful. Rooms are spacious. Beds are not so confortable. Breakfast is descent and coffee is good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent place near for everything
- Verified traveler (8/5): - In general was OK, great location.
breakfast was so-so. room pretty cold
- Ronny (6/5): - To start off with, the wrong address was given for the hotel. When checking in everything was great. Room was cleab and spacious. We had a few issues with the room and yes they did come to fux certain things but also looked annoyed because we asked. The last time we asked for help they just didnt rock up.
Rooms were cleaned everyday and bathroom items replaced too
Over all the stay was good. Just a few minor details that didnt hit right.
- James (10/5): - Very convenient access to Plaza de Armes. Short walk to the markets, tours, some of the best restaurants that we had experienced. The staff were very helpful, as well the manager assisted us with some local dining recomendations and walked with us there. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. And they had oxygen on site if the altitude effected the patrons.
- Eslany (10/5): - It all started with a warm welcome from Nohely the girl at the reception, she was very respectful, unformative, attentive, the room was very cozy it had all what we needed even fruit a heater in case it gets cold at night.
The breakfast in the morning was really good..fruit, bread, yogurt, coffee, they'll make your eggs the way you want them, ham ,butter and some other things just to start the day right.
We had a chance to talk to Mrs. Hilda and Mr. Henry the owners and they treated us as if we were family they told.us the story of the hotel and made our stay memorable and grateful, we also had a chace to talk to Mr. Sahmir Ahmad he is one of the best employees at the hotel we called for ice at the reception and he brought it to us wit a cake " what a wonderful surprise" he also use to make tea for us and treated us with respect and honesty... Yabar hotel is the best option if you are gonna visit Cusco.
- Aida (10/5): - For the price it’s an excellent hotel the only thing that it was not nice to hear every time we walk on the room was the floors but other than that I LOVE MY STAY WITH THEM, everyone it’s very friendly
- Eduardo (10/5): - The architecture is one of a kind, the floors are squeaky but that’s what you expect from a building dating back to the 1600. Over all our stay was the on point.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff there is very friendly and helpful. The location is supper good, just by the square. The condition of the room is ok. The only thing I think can be better to me is that i got a room with no window. Other than that, i am happy with my stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property is directly linked to the main square, shops and restaurants. Pleasant staff, very low key.
- Susan (8/5): Good location - hotel was clean comfortable and in a good location right near Plaza de Armas. Room I had was noisy at night with a window onto the alleyway. Being solo traveller didnt like having to wait in the same alleyway at night for someone to open the main entry door.
- JJ (10/5): - Location is great. Half block from Cuzco main square
