Guest Reviews
- mrewain (6/5): Average room - As the name in Thai suggests, it's in city center.
It was an average room, clean, but I expected something better for that price.
If you can stay on a higher (highest?) floor, there likely will be some city view on balcony.
You get breakfast coupons (I had to ask for them). Breakfast is in a restaurant a bit further in the street, where you have a couple of options to choose from.
- otso (2/5): - I booked two rooms for two nights in this hotel for 3 Jan 2025. One for wife and me, the other room for our daughter and her friend.
Firstly our room's shower hot water heater was broken. We were given another room and the water run warm-ish but clearly the heating unit was on it's last leg too. (controls wobbly and warm water only possible with very low pressure)
Then when our daughter and friend were getting to bed they noticed the beds in their room were full of little ants. When we alerted the receptionist she insisted that the ants were somehow our fault?? Considering we just checked in that evening I didn't really know how to respond to that... She then suggested that the ants could be wiped out of the sheets and that would resolve the issue! I wonder would she herself like to go to that bed. Anyway, after some heated negotiations she reluctantly agreed to change that room too. But she was not happy to help us.
We used one small hand towel on the floor onto which we stepped out from the shower, as you do. However, when checking out they charged us 200 baht hecause the towel got dirty on the floor. And that part is true, the floor was really dirty. Clearly not properly wiped or cleaned for a long time. I thought that was actually funny - they didn't clean their rooms and charged us money because because of that.
The hotel was like a joke scketch from a TV comedy, or from a hidden camera show. Not funny at the time, though.
Worst. Hotel. Ever.
- Lindsay (10/5): Nice clean cheap location good - Clean cheap accommodation close to walking street restaurants and Mekong river with undercover parking
I likes it her
- Alexander (6/5): - This property is a mixed bag. Started off well when manager bought a hit water kettle for morning coffee when I asked about one in my room. But problems built over two weeks. Key cards failed 3 times. Air Con failed in last night. BTW I lost one of the key cards through a hole in my pocket, and was charged a ludicrous 400 baht for it. On two nights, neighbors packed in an adjacent room had loud drunken parties late into the evening. Eventually management did quiet them down, but, having already had to change rooms due to loud wrecking ball construction outside my window, I wasn’t in the mood. There is no elevator to the upper floors. The “balconies” are just a 2x2 outdoor space where smokers can do their thing - no chair, no table, and definitely no view. The price was reasonable, but it’s quite easy to find better for the same or less. The location is very good, a short walk to great little riverfront walking street, 7/11, ATMs, and excellent night street food.
- Walter (8/5): Es ging so......!
- CoffeeChillTV (8/5): A good kip at the Klang Muang ... - Contemporary, convenient and comfortable is the ultra centrally located Klang Muang Hotel on Nong Khai City, Isaan, Thailand. Easy walk to water, as well as a plethora of; restaurants, temples, cafes, pubs, massage shops, spas and markets. A solid option for those seeking strong walk-ability (see my YouTube), as well as an extremely comfortable bed for a kip.
- Jun (8/5): - Good location near by river.
Enter noise from outside of the room.
- Q4259PAlynnh (6/5): Long way up to the room - I only made this place average because that fact is it does not have a lift.
It was roughly forty steps up to the room lugging a bag up.
The rooms here are quite small however ok for an overnight stay. I would commend the hotel on its cleanliness and comfort too with the bed.
I had a good nights sleep here and didn’t notice any noise in the night, however in the morning I realised there was a lot of noise filtering into the room as other guests were leaving and as the cleaners started so don’t expect a lay in even though the check out is at midday.
It has a small room offering a cofffee service however your better off wandering up or down the road to find a a breakfast.
Parking was easy when I got here at two, however looks quite limited if you were a late arrival.
They also wanted a 300 baht refundable deposit.
Overall it was value for money and pretty central for most things in Nong Khai.
- Verified traveler (10/5): noisy doors - everything is good. But you can hear the doors banging closed over the whole floor
- Grader07 (10/5): Peaceful roost - Well appointed rooms with a very good cleaning regime. Hot water and a shower area that is big enough for the toilet seat not to get wet.
A quiet street assists keeping the noise down. Close to the river and market areas but then so is the majority of accommodations.
Walk in rate higher than online booking and it appears that prices rise for Friday and Saturday.
- carmarsutra (10/5): Great place - Stayed here for a few days after our trip to Laos. This is a great hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean rooms. Central hotel, 2 minutes walk to the river area. Room was a good size with a small balcony. We never had breakfast here so can't review that. All in all a great place to stay.
- David John (8/5): Nice New Hotel - The hotel was, quite modern and new. It was very clean. And the staff were very nice. The Hotel was near the market and the river.
- Gerry1111 (8/5): Good Hotel - Comfortable room and functional shower room. Very clean and well maintained. Attractive room rates. Good location, a few minutes walk to the western end of the Thasadet market and the river, and around the same distance in the other direction to the main bar area (if you like that sort of thing). One downside - there's no lift. I didn't try the cafe, as there are numerous places locally where you can get breakfast.
- Josef (8/5): - Not far from the market and river Mekong
- Gordon (10/5): Nice quiet hotel in Nong Kai. - Check in was easy and there was free parking available in the hotel. If this is full another option would be provided. The room was neat and clean and the hotel staff most friendly and helpful. The hotel is within walking distance of many attractions such as restaurants, Thai massage and market. The other sites we visited by car. A free shuttle is provided to the border crossing with Laos. This was a very pleasant stay.
- yasu (8/5): - .
- JMD (6/5): Nice Hotel but... - Great location and staff, however be informed that the hotel has 4 floors and no elevator, no helper for the luggage either. Also if you want your room to be cleaned, you have to place the sign on the door knob, otherwise they don’t come in. Apart from that, great stay.
- pwtsia (10/5): Nice hotel - Nice little hotel in the middle of Nong Khai. Excellent price and the quality of the room is good. One block from Mekong River and the Tha Sade Market .I booked for 3 days and stayed for a week. Nice staff. No English speaking tv, but you not come here to watch tv.
- C1302LIstephenc (8/5): Clean very good budget hotel. - Stayed after reading many positive Agoda reviews. Its clean, good value with undercover parking. Close to river, restaurants and entertainment. Didn't have the breakfast that doesn't rate to well anyway but the rest was perfect. Bathroom is Thai style but clean functional. Iv stayed at many nongkhai hotels and this is very good. Will definitely return.
- Sjonger (8/5): Nice - I stay here few times, and is a lovely place. The rooms are clean en calm.
The hotel is near by the Mekong river and around the small city. The staff is friendly and helpful. So when you want a nice place to stay it's a good choice.
Greeting
S.Sjonger
- awalk73 (8/5): Night before trip to Laos - The hotel is very inexpensive and in a very convenient location for the local market and close to the Laos Border. It's a good place to stay, if you plan to visit Laos. I give the high rating based on the value for the price. Keep in mind this is a typical hotel for Thailand.
- Brian (6/5): Nice budget hotel spoiled by noisy housekeeping - Nice budget hotel with friendly staff. We had a problem with noisy housekeeping on the first morning as they congregated in a room nearby to chat - why do hotels allow this - such a common problem in Thailand where sleeping guests and "Do Not Disturb" signs are completely ignored! Subsequent mornings were ok after I complained.
- punchy1two (6/5): Internet is non existent - Rooms are good value and in a great spot but if you're hoping to book your next destination best of luck doing it from the hotel.
Also no lifts so lugging your stuff up the stairs isn't too much fun and I wouldn't recommend trying to navigate them with a gut full of piss.
- steve (10/5): e
Excellent Budget Hotel
- Very near Sadet market about 5 mins walking . Riverside also only 5 mins walk. Has Thai Breakfast for 50 baht which includes toast and Jam and thai rice porridge .{ jok } and coffee or tea . It's help yourself so you can have s much as you want. A excellent budget hotel overall.
- Mekongmarcus (10/5): Good quality hotel in the middle of town. - I have been staying here for three weeks after an initial three day stay.
Super modern hotel, very clean and smart, staff happy and helpful.
