• Angela (8/5): Great Location and good Value in heart of Isatanbul - We stayed at Maywood Hotel, sister hotel to Hotel Sapphire (which had been closed by the Municipality prior to our arrival). Rooms are very small but clean and comfortable. Includes a good buffet breakfast. Really good location, walkable to River, spice markets, Blue and pink mosque and The Grand Bazaar. Small rooms, otherwise everything else OK. Would have like to stay at Hotel Sapphire (not Maywood Hotel) which came recommended.
• Waregra (7/5): Meets expectations for the price - We actually ended up at Maywood hotel, after hotel Sapphire sent us there due to some issues with their tourist licence. We ended up with two single beds, worked ok for a couple of days. Internet speed quite fast.

• Lomidze (10/5): That was an amazing stay - Sapphire was closed due to the formal issues and they moved us to Maywood hotel and that was an amazing hotel with all the services starting from rooms with breakfast and all the staff, especially Mr. Ahmed, he was very helpful and pleasant. Location is amazing, very near to Train station, all main busy areas are near to the hotel you can enjoy walking in street nearby.

• Mirela (10/5): Nice hotel in the historical centre - Even though we booked Hotel Sapphire, this review is for Hotel Maywood where our reservation was transferred due to the municipality closing down Hotel Sapphire. This is what we were told. We accepted the transfer and we were happy with the hotel. It is very well located on a pedestrian street in the historical centre. We walked to Topkapi, Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque, also to Cistern Basilica. The Grand Bazar is within walking distance too. Our rooms were in the new wing. The beds were very comfortable with nice clean bed linen. The room was very clean. We liked the big bathroom and big shower area. The breakfast was varied, with a lot of local tasty dishes. Not great choice of fruit, but there were some apples and oranges or grapefruit. It was nice that they had someone who made omelettes on the spot. Since they do not eat pork, the choice of ham was weird looking, I haven't tried it. We especially liked the staff. They were always smiling and chatting with us at the reception, they gave us maps and helpful tips. A big thank you to them! Extra tip. If you go to Istanbul, please visit the Asian side too. We liked it a lot, it is cheaper, nicer and so vibrant. Loved the terraces and restaurants there. The only negative thing is that the coffee was instant, but the tea was very good.
• Tamara (10/5): Great staff, great location - would book again! - At first we were about to stay at the hotel Sapphire but we were transferred to the Maywood hotel (of the same owner) The Maywood hotel was great, we loved it! It was clean and cozy. Breakfast was included in the price and it was a good breakfast. The staff is extremely polite and helpful. I got sick while staying there and they helped me with finding the ride to the hospital. The location is great as well and everything we wanted to visit was 15-30 minutes by foot. We even got a goodbye gift from the staff and we loved it :) I would definitely book this hotel again! The only downside is that the room we were in was looking at some ventilation (not sure what it is) so it was really noisy when we open the window but to be honest everything else was perfect that this couldnt ruin my stay

Very good location, you can take a walk to main touristic sites on European side of Istanbul. Also is 2 min. to tram station, or Marmaray train, and ferry. Staff is friendly and helpful.

• Alexander (9/5): Nice hotel in the tourist centre of Istanbul - Comfortable rooms, fairly spacious given the central location. Responsive and friendly staff. Cleaning every day. Good sound proofing. You can sleep soundly. Nice breakfast, huge variety of options. Area is in peak tourist town which means a dozen waiters will try and get you into their restaurant as soon as you leave the hotel (not the hotel's fault, of course, but travelers should be aware!). I'd still recommend this hotel.

Confortable bed a great shower. Swimming pool and sauna. Nice and helpful hotel personnel. Breakfast is good but could be improved, with some pastries and more options of cold cuts, fresh fruit juices, oatmeal.

We booked a Bosporus dinner tour on the reception - really great experience and tasty food. The shampoo and bodywash were incredible. We were given a room on the 6th floor. Great view but was so hot inside we couldn't sleep. The AC was with central control. The room had a little mold smell when you enter. We were a little dissapointed from the breakfast. There were a lot of things prepared but most of them tasted bad.

• Ana (10/5): Perfect location and very good hotel - The hotel is located in near the main visiting spots. It was really easy to arrive to the hotel with the public transport and google maps. The staff was friendly and helpful when needed. Even though the breakfast starts at seven, we were able to have it at 5.30 as we needed to leave early in the morning. The room was comfortable and cleaning was done daily. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was tasty. Near the hotel are a lot of restaurants where you can eat. The most important attractions are located nearby and 5-10 minutes walk you can reach them. Also the public transport is 3 minutes walk. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and recommend it.

Minor point is the coffee at breakfast downstairs. The coffee standards in Turkey are quite high so I guess there’s room for improvement in the hotel.

Good WiFi. Bed large enough, comfortable, just the pillows are a bit too hard for me. They got a luggage storage room, where you can keep your bags after check out. I will return without doubt, and can recommend without doubt. All excellent.

• Cath (9/5): The staff were great and I couldn't fault the room. The location was fantastic. - The breakfast was excellent with lots of variety and fresh eggs to cooked to order. The swimming pool isn't built yet- they signpost you to a neighbouring hotel.

• Amila (10/5): Wonderful - It was better than expected, location is perfect - the street is beautiful and I didn’t wish to be located anywhere else. Everything was close from here. Staff were very kind, room was cleaned everyday and we got everything we needed. They were very kind to us and our baby. Loved the egg station for breakfast - it’s not too big and mostly same every day but had everything needed. Will for sure come back again to this hotel. Walls are little bit thin, we had some noisy neighbours bit that’s alright as well, cant expect 100% soundproof space 😊
