Personal muy amable El desayuno, el desagüe de la ducha olía mal. Quise cenar a las 9pm (cuando en la carta del hotel ponía que el restaurante cerraba a las 10pm). Al preguntar en recepción, había otra chica que parecía tener algo que ver con la cocina. Hablaron en indonesio entre ellas y me dijeron que la cocina estaba cerrada. A pesar de que insistí en que cerraba a las 10 no quisieron atenderme, y tuve que salir a la calle a buscar algo para cenar. Muy decepcionada con esta situación.

- Evgenia iljina (7/5): Eine Nacht ok - Das Bett war sehr bequem. Man hat alles im Zimmer gehabt was man bräuchte. Perfekte Lage zwischen Flughafen und Hafen. Das Fenster konnte man nicht öffnen. Unter dem Bett war sehr dreckig. Frühstück war auch grausam nur Reis und Nudeln.

We would definitly recommend, obviously it's in Asia so it's commun to have insect (we didn't have any but we saw some comments about that) The pressure of the shower was really great Everything was good :)

- Amélie (3/5): Je déconseille fortement - Pas grand chose, seulement le fait qu'il soit seulement à moins de 10min du port et de l'aéroport et le fait qu'il y est un supermarché juste à l'angle. Les commentaires positifs sont incompréhensibles. Le petit déjeuner n'était pas trop mal. Trop cher pour ce que c'est, ca caut 10€ la nuit pas plus. La chambre était vétuste et pas propre, on avait même des cafards. Plus de gel douche, le flacon était vide et les serviettes sales. La clim fait un bruit d'enfer. Il n'y a pas d'eau minérale à disposition. Lorsqu'on a voulu venir dîner à leur restaurant à 19h (censé fermer à 20h, ce qui est déjà très tôt), on nous laisse nous installer, personne ne vient et quand on fait un signe on nous dit que le cuisinier n'est pas là et qu'il n'est pas possible de dîner. Il n'y a pas d'autre restaurant potable proche, on a dû se faire livrer par Grab. Le personnel est froid et ne parle pas du tout anglais. L'hôtel était vide, franchement glauque. Ils ne mettent pas la clim dans les couloirs et lobby, alors qu'ils en ont, il faisait extrêmement chaud. Il y a aussi des clochards qui traînent devant ce qui n'est pas du tout rassurant mais le personnel s'en fiche. N'y allez pas tout simplement.

- Erik (1/5): - The rooms were clean and not far from the airport. Breakfast was OK. Would have been a decent stay had the episode below not happened. Hopefully they've changed this staff. We came to this hotel for 1 night on June 5 after 4 nights in Raja Ampat. I had gotten bitten by a stone fish and needed medical care asap which I've still been dealing with one month later. When we stayed at Ayla City Hotel, my girl friend left her purse in the room when we went to the hotel breakfast. It's the only time in our ENTIRE trip she went somewhere without her purse. We checked out of the hotel that same day and took our flight back to Bali, and then went to another island next where I could recover from the sting. It was there that she noticed $200 American dollars and some foreign currency she had brought for emergency had been stolen from a small zipper in her purse. She said the money was not how it was arranged and how she left it. The ONLY time she didn't have her purse the entire trip was when she left it in the hotel room at the Ayla City hotel when we went to breakfast, and we noticed when we left the room a cleaning staff was nearby and saw our exit and started heading to the room. Someone even tried to open the door at night when we went to bed early. This was a HORRIBLE experience, especially right after I was bitten by a stone fish and needed medical attention.

Room was very comfortable, and the Breakfast layout was very nice. When the elevator didn't work early on our departure, the porter carried our bags for us without asking. Very nice people. Breakfast on the first floor was not particularly well laid out, but the breakfast on the second floor during our second visit was huge!

Our room on this visit was excellent, no questions. Beds were comfy again, very good. Lots of Hot running water. Appreciate all the small extras, including bottles of water. Breakfast was set up on the second floor this time, and a much better layout. Much more comfortable seating area than our last visit.

Air conditioner cooled the room off well. My first-floor room's window faced the staff hallway, which was odd. After the third person walked right by my window I closed the blinds. It was a bit noisy.

- Sarah (8/5): We can definitely recommend this place for a short stay before a flight. - Ayla City Hotel was a perfect place for one night before our flight home. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and did what they could to make sure we had everything we needed. They made breakfast for us half an hour earlier than usual, they stored our big luggage for three weeks free of charge, and helped us with ordering taxis. The room was clean and the bed was big. The only downside was a problem with moisture and mold in the building. Our stored luggage had mold on it and smelled when we got it back.

- Velaire (9/5): Nice stay in Sorong - The staff were amazing, I arrived fresh off the redeye from Makassar, and they let me check in early to get some sleep. The hotel is clean, and located very close to the airport. I could hear what sounded like construction noise coming from the hotel as I was dosing off that night, not sure if that’s common or they had something that needed immediate repair, and ultimately it didn’t keep me awake (and Im a sensitive sleeper)

Evening time the main road fills up with food stalls. Markings in the hotel are for City View hotel, maybe they just changed name. Room clean and normal size, hot shower.

- Jean (4/5): very confusing checkin - when booking a room that had a clear picture of a window, I was given a room without a window. this was clearly misleading. next, when asking for a new room, the staff gave me a room with cigarette smell. they offered air refreshers when I complained. I didn’t accept the room, had to wait more, and eventually got a decent room (after changing 2 times). this hotel needs to be more serious as smoking and a window presence are not details.

However, bed was confortable and bathroom have hot water and good pressure but sink was broken. It was impossible to adjust the A/C whit the remote controle: it was "on" or "off." Breakfast should have more choices.

But our room was next door to some kind of laundry, wich was operating?all night? at least veeeery late and veeeeery early because the knocking sound just was soooo disturbing. Just outside , 20meters maybe, taxis is to be found to and from the airport , shopping mall. Or you can of course use the hotels pic up service for little more money. We had a bag with sandwiches with us cause an early departure instead of the complementary breakfast.

- plukmantara (8/5): Comfortable Stay - This Place was newly renovated (May 2017). everything in well function (hot water, lift) the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious (try the eggs). located near the airport, this hotel provide you, comfort star for transit if you want to go to Raja Ampat and they can pick you up in the airport. the staf is also friendly and helpfull the minus: no window in my room

I spent one night and took a rest before I went for live aboard in next day morning. the staff are willing to help although their English is not very good. Internet is a bit slow compared with HK and it is still acceptable and can kill time as there is nothing to see around. I order food and drink in the hotel and food is acceptable. In fact, I didn't expect too much in a small town like Sorong.

I didn't expect too much of the hotel which is close to the airport. although the hotel staff English is not very good, they always try to help the guest which impress me. I took my meal in the hotel as there is nothing around Sorong. internet a bit slow compare with HKG and still acceptable to kill time in this small town

Food is average. I got first floor where I got only wall for my view. But considering the price, then you get for what you pay.
- WorldCole (8/5): Comparatively good hotel - The hotel is decent and close enough to the mall and restos. The rooms are not huge or luxurious, but the aircon and cable TV works good. Make sure your room has hot water and that the aircon filters are clean. Outside the hotel, take the small mini van local transportation as it is the cheapest and most flexible. There are a few decent restos around, but salad is not much of a possibility here, unless you buy it from the grocery store.
- WallyNNoni29Jan16 (8/5): Not Bad - For the price, not a bad place to stay. Cost was $465,000 rupiah, $35 USD. Western amenities. The food was excellent and not that expensive. Breakfast was better than what I have had at other Indonesian Hotels. If on a budget, this is a good place to stay. You have other restaurants near as well. Did not encounter any English speaking staff members.
- thyavalianty (10/5): Center city hotel - I stayed here for business trip, couldnt say much because i spent all day (even skip breakfast) for working, but the room was clean, average new hotel, they have a very helpful staffs, always giving their best smile when we pass through. One little lackness here (in sorong actually) , sometimes the light is off, about 3 times a day, so dont be surprised :)
- aristrionos (6/5): Accomodation in Sorong City, Papua Barat - The standard room is quite small but the hotel location is very good near of port and airport. The hotel location on the next of the Garuda Indonesia office. It will make us easy to check in for the Garuda Indonesia flight (especially for Garuda Indonesian user).
- winfred_mkc (8/5): Business Hotel with a location in the city center - I am a frequent business in the city of Sorong and almost every 1.5 months into this city. Incidentally my business is located in the city center and I've tried various hotels around and for me that is very suitable is Hotel City View. The Hotel relatively new hotel with a minimalist design. The room and bathroom is small but functional. There is free wifi but slow, but enough to receive and send documents via email. The food and drinks were offered a very good and relatively cheap price compared to competitive. I hope the management can continue to improve the service so that it can be the best in its class.
- id02910 (6/5): New hotel, good location - Stay at City view hotel for one night stay before next flight at Garden suite room at IDR 1,000,000 net incl breakfast. Other rooms are rated at around IDR 500,000++. The suite is spacious and clean. The sofa is provided in the room, and quite an advantage if only it is separated from the bedroom. Somehow it is designed that if we open the door, everyone at aisle will have open view on the bed. The bed is comfortable with good linen. The bath room has good water and also good water pressure. The minus is that the bath room is look like the unfinished building. We still can see some stain drom the costruction phase. From a nice and clean room, you will be easly down with the bath room appearance. The amenities is looks cheap, at least if we compared with the its room standard. Have tried some of it room service menu. I agree with previous reviewer that it is standard, both in taste and presentation. The prices is quite affordable (sop ikan bening at IDR 59,000+++, fried noodles at 59,000+++, carrot juice at IDR36 ,000++. Laundry is available, and they provide express laundry as well with reasonable prices. Arriving the hotel on the evening, I already run out of clothes for the next day, so I put the laundry at 8:00PM, and ask to be returned before 8:00AM. It is all well done. It really help. The garden suite is equipped with what is called little garden contain a water fountain and a set of chair. That is one of my plus point as all day you can hear the sound the water. Quite relaxing. If you go out from Hotel, Garuda Indonesia office is just beside the hotel. ATM is located beside Happy Puupy Karaoke which the hotel is actually just behid the karaoke. The road in front of it served by local transportation (IDR 4000/pax/trip ). Hotel also provides airport transport for IDR100,000 net per trip. The service is one of its main minus point. The staff is not well trained. The front desk are friendly, but they just do not know too many things. The staff at restaurant even worst, all they did is chatting around with their friends left their guests at the restaurant alone. They really eed to be trained on how serving the hotel guest.
