Guest Reviews
- Cooper (8/5): Great to support a pal. - Personal service. Close to facilities in Howick. Nil
- Fitzgerald (7/5): - The location was great, Howick is a charming town and everything we needed was close by. It was peaceful, beautiful gardens and had everything we needed. I found the room crowded with unnecessary furniture that made it difficult to move around in freely. The indoor table, the couches and the dressing table, extra night stands and 2x clothing racks were not needed and just made the room feel too full. I also was not a fan of the brown carpet underfoot, especially in the kitchenette area. The mixer is installed in such a way that getting to the tap in the kitchenette was very difficult, which caused us to unfortunately leave a tap dripping over the floor all night, resulting in a wet carpet. Also, we live animals and we're delighted to see the "pets roaming" signs, but there was a feint cat pee smell in our room, which was not great
- Nkomo (9/5): Excellent -
- craig (4/5): The cost was high but the decor shabby. Room was clean and comfortable. Did not want to pay so much. - The gardens were well maintained and rooms very clean Decor was dates and rooms ugly. Who puts two industrial pug points above the beds. Crappy pillows and one towel was more like a rag. The place is over priced for what was offered and with an error on booking.com, we ended up paying way more than what we planned. Very disappointed as I would not have booked somewhere else. The manager was a bit creepy.

- Christel (6/5): Howick auf der Durchreise - Grundsätzlich schönes Anwesen. Sehr netter Gastgeber.
- Chané (5/5): Nutmeg Guest house - I liked the hospitality and location. Bed was also very comfortable and clean. I love a clean bed.. A microwave, kettle ( along with tea and coffee) , basin, shower , TV, ect. Were provided.
Towels and soap was also provided in the bathroom making it lovely for not having to pack out your bags. The furniture seemed as if it needed some TLC.
Biggest thing is our bedroom had a strong smell and whenever our neighbours used water the pipes made very loud noises which didn't make our stay as enjoyable.
- Jason (1/5): Badly ventilated rooms with poor privacy so couldn’t have the doors open. - Location The double bed was awful
Poor ventilation
No privacy

- Van Jaarsveld (8/5): -
- Sam Ngcobo (4/5): - It was clean Booked a double bed, they gave me a room with 2 tiny beds ,they said they couldn't give me a double bed cause I was alone and they got another booking from a couple that why they gave the couple the room I booked to them cause they can't sleep in two single beds

- Vilanan (5/5): Fair -
- Bongeka B (9/5): - Staff was friendly, organized everything we needed. None
- Barbie (5/5): Satisfactory for our purposes - a stopover. - We loved the proximity to where I was working that night.
The security is good - there is a remote gate and inside parking.
Pretty garden. I always appreciate little thoughtful touches - don't need to be 'extra' in terms of money.
A little flower from their beautiful garden in a vase or little bottle in the room.
There was no tea in the room. Although when I asked the owner for 2 bags and some hot water, he was very happy to bring us that as Eskom was off.
Perhaps a little jug of fresh milk and jug of cold water in the fridge?
But a little small shampoo in bathroom (I forgot mine so had to go out and buy one!).
Tiny things make a huge impact.

I am 85 and do not want to fall. Also no grab rail.

- Tarhu (9/5): - Very clean, and safe. Interacting with management, via communication needs attention.
- Gusty (10/5): Comfort - The comfort and quiet
- Matshazi (2/5): Weird Owner. - It was average.the employees were reasonable The owner decided to make my day visitor pay additional fees because if she uses the toilet,it counts as using his facilities so she must pay,she ended up paying R300,which is more than half of what I was paying and she wasn't sleeping there. He randomly added additional fees outside the advert on booking.com . It made my experience very unpleasant.I am never booking there again.N.B:they should do something about they insect issue in the bathroom
- Ryan (9/5): Comfortable - Breakfast was very filling and well cooked.
- Wim (9/5): - You enter an environment that is perfectly layed out and maintained. It is almost impossible to find any dissonant. The arrangement of rooms is nice, room are spacious and clean. Peter runs his guesthouse in a very professional and welcoming way. Nothing at all.

- Lindelani (10/5): Excellent - Cleanliness. Nothing.
- Chetty (10/5): - I was traveling to howick for an event and there was no electricity at the Venue on the specific day.
I contacted Peter and he assisted me , he allowed me to bring my trailer and connect it at his place.
Im very grateful for his hospitality and going that extra mile.
- Faith (10/5): Great place to stay - The Host was so friendly I stayed over for a night I wish i could have stayed more nights, the room was clean, comfortable and welcoming, The place was in a right location i could'nt call Uber because it exactly close to the Building i was going to , Thank you so much nutmeg:) They charge R30.00 for ironing
- Lynnette (2/5): Very poor - The location The room is dingy and needs work urgently, there is mould on the ceiling which was covered with paint.
It was freezing cold the heater on the wall done nothing to warm the room ..requested a heater from the owner whom was rude and refused to help us ..said that a heater in one room will trip the electricity for the price this place is not worth it. It seems the owner is trying to save cost and does not care for the comfort of his customers.
- Xolani (10/5): The place is clean and staff' s attitude is good. - The place is so clean and the staff is very friendly and respectful. Nothing except the noise around the place in the morning, of which there is nothing they can do about since the noise doesn't come within the yard.

- Lynda (8/5): Very good -
- Matloane (4/5): Disappointing - Nothing! We spent the nights because we couldn't get the refund if we cancelled. The place is not suitable for family. Everything more especially the attitude of the so called owner (tall white old man),he spoke to us as if we were intruders not guests.
- Gemma (8/5): Very good -
- Johan (5/5): Passable - Central Very small room, basic. Asked for two single beds, got double bed. Bed uncomfortable. Will not use adain
