Guest Reviews
- Elisabeth (6/5): Zufriedenstellend - Die Landschaft, die Zimmer, der geheizte Pool Der Baustellenlärm, der unmögliche Transfer, das mäßige Essen
- Susanna (9/5): -

- Sally (10/5): It was a fabulous privately owned little game park.We thoroughly enjoyed the game drive with Peter and his apprentice. - Everything. Staff were fabulous, location was stunning, so peaceful and the animals. Nothing
- Michael (7/5): -
- Elke (9/5): -
- Mahira (9/5): Excellent - I loved my stay and to be honest the staff made it as amazing as it was. Mildred and Cassie stood out and made our stay superb. We had certain diary requests and they went out of their way to accomodate us. It was a really special experience.
- Natalia (10/5): -
- Gregor (10/5): -
- Camiel (9/5): - Mooie lodge, vriendelijk personeel. Prima kamer, goed bed.
- Joe (10/5): -
- Miriam (8/5): -
- Alexandra (8/5): -
- Hans (6/5): - Die Unterkunft hat uns sehr gefallen,
- Charlotte Juul (9/5): - Wonderful place, very close to nature and Windhoek/airport. If you are on a business trip and just have an extra day or two, this is a very nice experience. I saw lots of different animals on the game drive organised by the lodge. It's also very nice to just relax at the lodge, looking at the waterhole where ostriches, guineafowls, waterbucks, and an occasional warthog come by. Lots of birds as well! The staff are super friendly, and the food is nice.
- Norbert (10/5): Schöne Lodge - Liegt 45 Minuten vom Flughafen.
- Rafael (9/5): -
- Niels (10/5): Great stay - We stayed for one night. The lodge has a really nice atmosphere. Great and clean swimmingpool. Dinner and breakfast facing a waterhole with animals. Staff is very friendly and correct. Beds were super comfortable and long enough for tall people. All in all one of our best stays in Namibia. Everything was great.
- Christian (8/5): -
- Marion (10/5): Wir verbrachten zwei phantastische Tage.
- Sally (10/5): Great. Would certainly recommend. - Beautiful place, very friendly staff, delicious food and good value.
Sehr freundliches Personal
- Çizelle (9/5): Peaceful & lovely bedding - Friendly & helpful staff.
Neat garden.
Peaceful
Loved it that there was no TV or music playing.
Enjoyed the sound of nature The hot water took a while before it was warm.
The water pressure was very poor.
Didn’t like the shower curtain- very old fashioned & not hygienic, & was dirty!
Very small bathroom. They could’ve expanded it to the unused foyer in front of bathroom.
The walking trail was not clearly marked.
We were disappointed that the massaging was unavailable!
- Julie (10/5): Oasis in Namibia - Location beautiful...the staff felt like family. Excellent food
Facilities wonderful
Game drives fantastic Nothing we didnt enjoy
- Stefan (10/5): - Hervorragendes Essen, sehr aufmerksames Personal, Sauberkeit Straße zur Lodge
- Gabriele (10/5): -
- David (10/5): - Did not use spa but pool cool and refreshing.
Friendly, accommodating staff ready to go the extra mile for you.
Tasty food, interesting and informative game drive - saw many animals , great sundowner party! Relaxing place to start our holiday especially after a long flight.
VERY MUCH RECOMMENDED
Absou
- Diane (7/5): Super friendly and helpful staff - Super friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to please the guests. It’s an older property yet the beds were comfortable and the shower nice. Food was provided for the ostriches and waterbucks ensuring their appearance at breakfast time. Otherwise there wasn’t a lot of action at the water hole. The last 22km to reach the property was on a very rutted gravel road which at times went up and down like a rollercoaster leaving us feeling quite car sick on arrival. You should be ready for this level of “adventure” when planning a trip.
- Hans Peter (10/5): Tolles Highlight am Ende unserer Namibia-Reise. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! - Tolles und sehr herzliches Personal. Belebte Wasserstelle direkt and der Lodge. Gutes Essen, sehr engagierter Service.
- John (8/5): -
- Laura (10/5): It was our favourite accommodation, we liked it so much that we returned before we flew out. - The staff here are fantastic - very friendly, welcoming and warm. They go the extra mile and seem genuinely happy. Special thank you to Petrus and the front of house team for being so kind.
The lodge has charm, good vibes and seemed much more authentic compared some other lodges we stayed at.
The location is incredibly peaceful and quiet. We saw giraffe, warthog, impala, kudu, waterbuck, mongoose, ostrich - either by sitting at the new waterhole viewing platform with a drink at sunset, or by going for a little walk .
We stayed in winter, but our room had a heat pump plus a woodburner which was lit by the staff every night. Super cosy.
Perfect spot to get a first taste of Namibia, recover and recharge after a long flight. We felt very at home.
- Martin (9/5): Excellent place to start or and travel in Namibia, close to Airport and beautiful setting - Excellent committed and helpful staff in all area, delicious, food, great setting, Less game than expected on extensive grounds
- Marie (10/5): Lovely staff and calm getaway with lots of wildlife -
- Hina (9/5): I had the best time at Auas - Peaceful environment, good food, friendly staff. No many options on activities.
- Erwin (3/5): Very low standard, law quality facilities, only friendly staff - the staff was friendly and the breakfast was okay the rooms are substandard, very old furniture and facilities, have not seen a rennovation for 30 years. Everything is old but clean. We have seen guesthouses in much better condition and much cheaper, so not really a lodge regarding to the standard and quality. For the same money you can sleep in the "Weinberg hotel" which is a five star luxury hotel. The gravel road to the "lodge" is the worst we have seen on our 3 weeks round trip in Namibia. On the next morning the roads have been blocked by rivers, only with our Toyota Landcruiser we could cross the water with 4x4.
- Johannes (9/5): Superb -
- Phenphun (9/5): Superb - The staff were very friendly. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. There was a water hole near the table so you could see the animals while eating dinner. It was quiet and private. N/A
- Ingrid (9/5): Superb - Wow, wow, wow, the number of animals whole day around the water hole (unfortunately because of severe drought and heat).
You can be here a whole day relaxing at the pool, at the restaurant, and just looking at the animals.
The game drive was amazing, with so many species and a very friendly and knowledgeable guide.
All staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Food was very taste and I really appreciated the great combination of meat and loads of vegetables. It was very quiet with guests, which was amazing for me to have so much peace and happiness, but I wish such an amazing accomodatie more business.
- Masuma (10/5): Prefect location, with the the perfect hosts - The lodge is within an hours drive from Windhoek, so perfect for a weekend getaway. The staff is extremely accommodating for anything you need.
Highly recommend the safari drive, and the spa massage.
I could go walking into the reserve, which was brilliant. I had no issues with the facilities, the staff or the surroundings. Would highly recommend.
- Janice (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable room, great dinner and breakfast by the waterhole, excellent staff and friendly guests. Loved the location and game drive. Definitely recommend
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Location is perfect distance from Windhoek and the lodge is perfect. Great views, plenty of animals and the stars were spectacular.
The staff made the trip and I was made to feel extremely welcome. Food was incredible and I had 2 of the best meats I've tried
- Mark (6/5): Good location and central facilities - The general area was wonderful. Dinner was superb. I booked and paid for two rooms and wanted adjoining, which ended up being two bedrooms in a family style unit (eg sharing a bathroom), which was not what I was expecting or really wanting and therefore more expensive comparable to other places we had stayed in Namibia.
- Laurent (8/5): Ideal place for nature lovers who like quietness and hiking in this fabulous nature - At first we have appreciated the location with a 360 degrees panoramic view with the mountains all around, the quietness
Then we were Very good welcoming by all the staff
It was the only safari lodge where we could go hiking directly from the lodge in the nature and see animals(girafes, zebras, oryx, springbocks, osrtiches, kudus, etc)in safety. There are many possibilities for sundown or sunrise hikings, not far away from the lodge
Diner and breakfast very good
- Johannes (8/5): Nice - It’s close to Windhoek Old rooms and very cold
- Nicola (9/5): Superb -
- Katrien (9/5): Ideal for your last stop before catching your plane in Windhoek! - After a 12 mins drive on a sandroad you reach the nice property which was a marvellous scenery. This is a lodge where many (especially German) hunters come to hunt. It might shock some people but personal I understanding the utility of hunting in nature.
Since we were quite exhausted after a fortnight travelling and feeling a bit sick we unfortunately did not participate in and activity.
The animals come to drink in the waterput and come even to the pool to be cuddled by the guests. Wonderful experience! It was quite chilly in the evening and we are inside; they even made a fire for us. Since we already ate chicken the 2 previous days we asked for an alternative. They served us a filet of Waterbuck. One was rare but mine was too much done. A pity because I was really looking forward to a good peace of game. But they are so friendly that it is hard to complain! Having personal experience in tourism I would say that the management should be more present to coordinate the tasks.
They have a great bar with a large choice of drinks/cocktails!
One of the servants was so nice. She took care of me like her child! She prepared a salty drink for me and poured me hot tea to take care of my intestinal problem. Really kind!
The staff in administration was correct and efficient.
A nice place to end your road trip because you are at the airport in 35 mins. the communication with the owner of the property; not a very classy person.
- Walter (9/5): Good place to stay prior to a departure or to rest - The romote quietness NA
- Anthony (9/5): Friendly and efficient staff and a great location - Friendly and efficient staff and a great location
- Jose (9/5): Everything was great! - Everything was great. We loved how peaceful it was. The setting and grounds were beautiful. We would definitely stay again. I wish there were additional options at dinner, since we did not like the game meat.
- Isaac (10/5): A really restful safari lodge - We needed a peaceful rest stop during a busy trip and this exceeded our expectations. The staff was great, the food was very good, especially the dinners. We enjoyed the Oryx steaks and seafood pizza. We saw too many birds to count and several wildlife animals visited the nearby water hole. We took the two hour morning safari and had a great time. We saw giraffes, ostriches, warthogs, kudus, sable antelopes, water bucks, elands, oryx, zebras, and more. Our four rooms face the water side of the lodge and the Oryx fed on the grass just a few meters away at times. The rooms were well equipped, comfortable, and were clean. It was a tremendous deal for the price and I give it all 5’s in ratings. Great stay for sure.
- Kathrin (8/5): - We liked our stay at Auas Lodge. The lodge is nice but quite simple. Staff was really friendly!! The room is a little bit dark but clean. Food was good but dinner could be a little more (especially the main course). Lodge needs some renovations works e.g. toilette near the pool. The nature around the lodge is beautiful and it’s a good start or end for the Namibia vacation.
- Reinier (9/5): Very good lodge - Really nice lodge with good food and friendly staff .
The sunset game drive was super! Great guide with lots of info about the animals. Nothing

- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Emile (1/5): Bad -
- Claus (7/5): Good -
- Francesca (8/5): Very good -
- Franco (10/5): Exceptional - Aircons in the rooms Old fashion furniture
- Yevy (8/5): Very good -
- Laimi (10/5): Exceptional - Massage was so refreshing. It really relaxed my body and the Massage Therapist was really good.
The game drive was worth it. We saw a number of types of animals. Our Guide explained things very well and he was friendly. Nothing
- Ronelle (10/5): Exceptional - The place was stunning. A little Oasis in the desert.
Staff was super friendly and attentive.
My room was comfortable with a super large and comfy bed. I slept like a dream with no noise, just nature at my door.
The food was excellent, although I was not that into the game meaty dishes served. Just my personal preference.
The game drive was so informative, but I wish I could have been on more than one occasion.
The shuttle service was well appreciated.
Thanks to Petrus and all staff for making my stay memorable and enjoyable.
Ps....I am going to miss my Virgin Mogito's.
Till next time as I will be back.
- Tuomo_finland (8/5): Perfect first stop! - The perfect distance from the Airport. The game drive was very good. N/a
- Mr_a (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (6/5): Pleasant - Landscape Diner and breakfast. Price.
- Kathryn (7/5): A very long way to go (and expensive in a taxi) for one night. - Nice room, excellent dinner & breakfast included. No welcome drink after a 40+ kilometre drive from town.
- Nicola (9/5): Authentic, undemanding Namibian warmth just a stones throw from Windhoek and yet a world away. - Peacefulness. Friendly, genuinely kind and warm Namibian staff, who show an authentic and unflashy appreciation of the nature around. A lovely room with views of the savannah in two direction, and fire laid for the chilly nights. Super bush walk with giraffes and blue wilderbeast (amongst other game). I've lived in Namibia for 7 years, quite near to the lodge, and have been to many exotic and far flung lodges. I booked for convenient affordability, simply to have some time to catch up with work in a quiet place, and was incredibly surprised to find this little retreat so close. Food on one evening wasn't great (there were a lot of guests that night) - a little bit cold and the soup was the same as the previous night and not very tasty. The other three nights it was great!
- Sharon (8/5): Good way to just breathe and enjoy nature - Remote, secluded, very nice to have dinner and breakfast catered to my dietary needs. Very windy and dust/dirt every day everywhere
- Patrick (8/5): One night at auas safari lodge - Waterhole in front with animals, nice African spirit Mattress and pillows not that comfortable
- Silvia (8/5): Very good - Very comfortable and cozy.
Fire in the room was a must
- Burnedette (6/5): Pleasant -
- Dawne (9/5): A perfect spot to begin a trip through Namibia. - Breakfast was delicious and generous, served on an outdoor deck with a beautiful view. A lovely quiet, peaceful location that is close enough to the airport but out in the bush.Abundant bird life and game at the waterhole to entertain you while having dinner. Such nice and attentive staff. I would like an easier to follow map for the walking trails.
- Regina (9/5): Superb - Nice lodge to start or end a round trip in Namibia, about 1 hour drive from the airport. Swimming Pool and terrace with a view to the water hole.
- Mairead (10/5): Must-visit relaxing lodge close to Windhoek Airport - We had a fantastic time at Auas Safari Lodge. The location was perfect for us to relax on the way from the Kgalagadi TNP to the airport. The accommodation was fantastic: clean, well-equipped and with amazing views of the wildlife in the surrounding land. The hosts were friendly and gracious, literally nothing was a problem, and kept us well fed with delicious food. We also had massages in the spa facility which was an excellent addition to a very relaxing stay. All in all we’re counting down the months until we can return! nothing
- Ivor (10/5): Excellent t 2 night stay close to airport - Well located but not easily accessible by small cars with low ground clearance No milk in room to accompany complimentary tea and coffee.
- Carlos (8/5): Very good - A beautiful spot on a splendid location. Excellent choice for the start or the finish of a trip through Namibia.
Good kitchen and fine breakfast.
- Frank (6/5): A great place let down by a number of shortcomings - The many day visitors spoilt the peace and quiet of this lovely place.
One could hear the toilets from the neighbouring unit going on for ever, making rattling noises that kept waking us up repeatedly. Left my contact details to discuss the issue with the manager but never heard back....
No fridge in the room!
Sliding door between bedroom and bathroom was not operational.
- Suzanne (9/5): Beautifully situated, clean lodge with tasty meals, wonderful staff, and animal viewing available. - Beautiful location. very quiet and peaceful. Watering hole visible from pool and dining area for animal viewing. Activities available. Wonderful staff.
- Victoria (1/5): bad - its racist, they charged us more money than booking.com charged with no explanation. during dinner they would attend to the white people first all though we were first overall poor service from the waitresses.
