I've stayed at quite a few LaQuinta properties over the years, and although they have all been good, this one is far and away the best I have stayed at. The location is central to whatever we needed in town. Food, fuel, stores all within the immediate area. The staff are great, the rooms well appointed, clean and the property is very well kept. The shower head in the room was very high up on the wall, and being over 6 foot tall I really appreciate that. That is a very rare thing in most hotels. The pool was closed for maintenance, but the hot tub was open and quite pleasant. The breakfast here is phenomenal, waffles, pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, pastries, potatoes, eggs, the list goes on. And for hotel coffee its pretty decent. If I'm ever staying in Gillette again I'll be staying here.

• David (9/5): Price was fair for the service delivered - There breakfast is much better than other hotels in Gillette and is one of the principle reasons I stay. There was some sort of maintenance operation that sounded like drilling close to the room
• V6192FSdavidb (10/5): My opinion is best place to stay in Gillette but not the cheapest! - We always stay here when we go to see the kids, grandkids, and now great grandkids. Rooms and facility are clean, staff are friendly and helpful, and breakfast is better than any other hotel in town offering free breakfast. The hotel is pet friendly and they do have a special area outside where you can take your dog to conduct their business. Can't advise on other species of critters.

Even the pillows were not bad! Bathroom large with a nice big vanity, which you need when travelling. Very nice hot breakfast this morning, included in price. It was nice to have the ice machine on our floor rather than hiking down a flight of stairs to get ice. Thanks La Quinta!

• peterf64 (10/5): Pretty amazing for the price! - This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in, and it was only about $100 for the night. They only charge $20 for my dog which is so much better than Hilton and Marriott! The hotel is new, clean, easy to get to, friendly people, and it's right next to a lot of services like Ruby tuesday's, office Max, etc. I would say a hotel could become even better with a couple tweaks. The person cleaning the room in the morning was not very friendly at all, but I know she was busy. The TV remote is a little hard to run, so if they had something that said which channel the guide is on, that would help not having to go through 200 channels. Lastly, when I'm on vacation, I don't like to jump up early, and I have to walk the dog. It would be great if breakfast went until 10:00 a.m. But overall, superb job! I will definitely be staying here again if I return to Gillette.

The staff was friendly. The breakfast was perfect. My little dog loved it and she felt right at home too. Totally recommend this place

This was by far the best hotel for the best price! I couldn't believe how low the rate was! The breakfast was great, the most options we have seen. The bed was not quite as comfortable as others.
