- Michael (8/5): Good job Tambo! - I stayed in 4 hotels here in Peru. While some of the others had their charms, El Tambo was the best of the bunch. It has the feel of a much more expensive hotel, but is a bargain. The security, cleanliness, location, and amenities are all great. The front desk staff is helpful, kind and fluent in English, which is of course very helpful if your Spanish is as bad as mine. :-)
- Iris (8/5): Well priced in Miraflores. - Hotel was in a good location. Staff very helpful with directions, Maps of area and hiring car for airport. Only disappointment was that there are no elevators & my room was on 3rd floor. But there was a bellman to help me :)

- TravelWithBrynn (10/5): Fantastic Property and Location - I loved this hotel. The location was perfect - within a short walking distance of the Parque Central de Miraflores and JFK Park which has a ton of shops and restaurants along with plenty of scooter and bike options! The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and welcoming. They have a locked gate and 24 hour front desk. The breakfast buffet was good as well - all the usual items you see in Peruvian breakfast buffets. The beds were very comfortable and the A/C worked great. They do not have an elevator that I saw, so beware of that. But there are only a few floors and the doorman is more than happy to bring the luggage to your room. Wonderful property!
- Nina (6/5): - The hotel was average at best. Booked for a queen but got a double. Only stayed for 12 hours to get some sleep before my flight.Bed isn’t anything special. No pillow top or anything. Washroom is super tiny hard to move around in it. Washroom seemed clean till I threw some tissue in garbage can and it was full of used toilet paper. Tv was small. Wifi was decent. Would say this hotel should be a $60 hotel at most.
- mwcw (8/5): Great First and Last Night - We stayed at the Hotel El Tambo Dos de Mayo in Lima on our first and last nights of a three week visit to Peru. It is a small hotel with only 3 floors located in the Miraflores section of Lima. On our first night we arrived after 1:00 AM after a long flight from the U.S. Needless to say, we were glad that the check-in was fast and friendly. On our first night we stayed in room 301 and the second time in room 201. Though the rooms seemed a little small, both were very clean and had gigantic comfortable beds. The rooms had a valuables safe, flat panel TV, and cabinet for hanging clothes. There was also a very efficient room heater on the wall, which we didn't think we would need, but actually did. It was surprisingly chilly in the evening. The breakfast was served buffet style, as was it was in every hotel we stayed during the trip. There was a very good selection of cold and hot food. There is a small lounge just off the reception desk with comfortable chairs and couch, just in case you have to wait for a ride to the airport, like we did. There are also two house computers in the lounge for guest use. It is important to note that the entire front desk staff was very helpful. They all spoke the best English during our trip and all were very pleasant. The hotel is on a busy street, but we surprisingly were not bothered by street noise. It is only about a 10 minute walk to Kennedy Park. There are also unlimited shops and restaurants in the immediate area. On our last day, we had time to walk to the ocean which took about 20 minutes. Since it is located in the city of Lima, the hotel is about a 45 minute to an hour drive to the airport. Bottom line is that we would definitely stay there again.

- kylem4669 (10/5): Little Gem with Great Customer Service - This is a small but upscale hotel in the middle of the Miraflores district. The rooms are small but modern, nicely decorated, and quiet. They don't have an elevator so definitely take advantage of the bell man to help with luggage. The hotel has a nice breakfast buffet with hot food and a small enclosed outdoor patio. What I appreciated most about this hotel is the customer service. They were very accommodating and allowed us to store luggage there for several days prior to our actual check-in date! This was so much appreciated since we were traveling between countries and didn't want to deal with the hassle of baggage claim and customs. Also, check-in at 1 am with no problem. My utmost appreciation to Alberto Ruiz for his kindness.
- kirillian (8/5): Cute modern small hotel but for carry-on luggages only - Booked by Condor Travel for our start of Machu Picchu trip. Great location near Kennedy Park, 2 chifu restos (fancy one same block 2 bldgs away & one 1.5 blocks west). Rooms were clean, spacious, modern (new AC & TV, minimalist) and surprisingly quiet as long as you keep bathroom window + door closed. Pity no lift/elevator since 3 floors are v hard for the elder ladies in my group to drag their large luggages up (we ended up switching rooms). Breakfast has nice variety (local bananas are awesome) and staff (even the non English speaking ones) v responsive- both kitchen and front desk. If not for the lack of elevator, one of our fave hotels during our Peru trip. Recommended if you don't have large luggages.

- Michael (10/5): - Excellent hotel located in the heart of Miraflores just a couple blocks away from Parque Kennedy. Very comfortable bed, hot shower and very near Lima Express airport shuttle bus stop. Check in is usually at 1 PM, but I arrived at 9 AM and they immediately left me in the room. Great value. Very close to tons of bars, restaurants and airline sales offices.

El desayuno es bufé que incluye desde huevos hasta cereales, jamon, quesos, frutas, vegetales y variedad de jugos y yogurts 100% naturales echo al momento. Tiene 3 pisos, no hay elevador por lo que personas con discapacidad física o condiciones de espalda/piernas etc. deben buscar otra opción ya que hay que subir y bajar equipaje por escaleras y no hay asistencia todo el tiempo. Está a 40min aproximados del aeropuerto.

- Eva (10/5): So good - Such a great little place. Super clean and quiet but close enough to all the little bars near kennedy park. Very helpful front desk and highly recommend it to anyone. Also the shower is amazingly powerful and hot.
- 36amyi (10/5): Alberto was the best! - Tambo Dos de Mayo featured accommodations I was expecting for the price - a clean room, comfy bed and nice breakfast spread. What I was very impressed by was the front desk staff, particularly Mr. Alberto. He went out of his way to help with booking taxis, giving me directions to local attractions and booking a day tour at the last minute. He was very personable, knowledgeable and Tambo Dos is very lucky to have him on their staff.
- Gill808 (8/5): Clean Boutique Hotel - Tambo Dos De Mayo is a very small and homely hotel reasonably well situated in Miraflores. There are only 3 floors (no lift) but our room was on the ground floor. Indeed it opened directly off the lobby. That is unusual but we did not find it to be noisy with double doors providing sound-proofing. The room had its own pleasant and private court-yard. It was very clean and had one of the best shining bathrooms we encountered. Excellent large but firm bed, good in-room wi-fi, and a very "homely" yet extensive breakfast. It lacked any information guide, had no mini-bar or Tea/Coffee making facilities, and there were no instructions for the safe which needed a re-set from staff. The best feature of Tambo Dos De Mayo was the staff. Although they had little English, we found them to be extremely attentive, helpful, and fair.

- 976shahafs (4/5): Not what we expected - We made a reservation months in advance via booking.com, but when we arrived to the hotel they didn't honor the price that was written in the reservation and charged us more. We had to call Booking.com and talk with them for more than an hour until they finally fixed it, not a nice welcome to the hotel. The hotel itself is located in a nice and central area in Miraflores. The room was basic and sometimes noisy. It's very little but functional. The breakfast was disappoint. They had very little selection and when something was over- like the bread or the juice we had to go to the kitchen and ask the staff to fill it, as they weren't very interested most of the mornings to do so. The hotel personnel spoke very little English if at all, that includes the reception. One more downside was that the hotel doesn't have an elevator which meant we needed to climb 3 floors up with our large suitcases which was horrible. Overall we had a mixed experience with them. The problems they caused us with the over charges made us very nervous and took time from our vacation. I feel there are better options in the city.
