• ERNST (5/5): Great staff ,they need to review their facilities - Location was great Setup is first class. Overpriced The facility is dated ,fan rattles in room, mosquito windows are dilapidated. Very expensive for mediocre facilities Bathroom was in a poor state sadly! We are only using top lodges and this was not worth the money spent 😬
• Andre (10/5): Absolutes Highlight - Das Baumhaus ist unbedingt zu empfehlen. Ganz einsam im Busch gelegen und sehr gemütlich. Eine 2-stündige Safari mit 2 Sundowner-Getränken sowie sämtliche anderen Getränke, Abebdessen und Frühstück waren inkluduiert. Ein herausragendes Erlebnis. .

• David (9/5): Très bel endroit au calme - L'endroit en tant que tel où ce situe le camp n'est pas waouhh mais une fois dans le camp on se retrouve "ailleurs". Tout est très propre et bien entretenu. Les tentes sont très fonctionnelles et bien équipées. Les installations communes sont parfaites. Le restaurant est excellent avec un grand choix. Le personnel est super sympa et accueillant. Het is echt vergaande glorie, de dieren zijn bijna allemaal vertrokken naar Etosha omdat ze aan de droge kant zitten, de accomodaties is zeer oud en de geld absoluut niet waard Oud en vergane glorie, kamers zijn20 jaar geleden al afgeschreven ,het eten was ook minimaal, geen keuze maar kant en klaar menu (varkens lap, niet lekker!) De dieren zijn vertrokken naar Etosha, er is alleen nog soft wild, echt veel te duur voor wat je terug krijgt

• Nikol V (8/5): An Incredible Welcome to the Namibian Wilderness - Located on the western boundary of Etosha National Park, the lodge offers an authentic bush experience surrounded by stunning landscapes and incredible wildlife sightings. The drive from the gate to the lodge takes about 20 minutes along a bumpy road, but it’s well worth it — we spotted zebras, antelopes, and other wildlife along the way. Upon arrival, we were greeted by an elephant making its way to the waterhole — an unforgettable welcome and the perfect introduction to the lodge. We enjoyed an amazing dinner with a stunning view, which made the experience even more special. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay, and the food was excellent, offering great variety and generous portions. The rooms were modest and comfortable; however, I would have appreciated better lighting, as one bulb for the entire room was not quite sufficient.

Sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffet und Abendessen. Boma vor dem Restaurant. Swimmingpool, Aussichtsplattform. Zimmer mit Terrasse. Safari mit Begegnung mit Wüstenelefanten und einer grossen Löwenfamilie. Die Lodge liegt gegenüber des Etoshaparks (Galton Gate). Badezimmer etwas eng.

• Rahel (7/5): Eine schöne Abwechslung zu sonst überwiegend privat geführten „Hochglanzlodges“ im Namibia. - Sehr abenteuerliche Anfahrt über Sandpiste, die viel Spaß gemacht hat. Einige der wenigen Lodges in Namibia die von einer lokalen schwarzafrikanischen Gemeinde geführt wird - die Einkünfte fließen daher auch nicht in private sondern Kommunenhand. Exzellentes Rinderfilet beim Abendessen. Sehr sehr nettes, angenehmes Personal. Zimmer recht einfach, aber alles funktionsfähig und sauber.

• Helmut (9/5): Eine lohnenswerte Lodge nahe dem Etosha Westeingang - - total freundlicher Empfang und herzliches und fähiges Personal (ausnahmslos) - ganz hervorragendes Essen (nur ein Gericht am Abend, aber das war sehr lecker zubereitet) - tolle Auswahl zum Frühstück - ein toller Game-Drive mit zahlreichen Löwen aus nächster Nähe - Wasserloch nahe am Restaurant Relativ kleines Zimmer, das nur durch einen Vntilator gekühlt wurde (war aber bei der Buchung bekannt)
• Michael (6/5): - The location is good plus haveing the waterhole there. Service food and accommodation good. It was s nice overnight stay plus ideal for entrance to Etosha at Galton Gate. We stayed there many years ago. Set up changed plus it wasn't fenced off as it is now. The ambience was different for us plus you now sign an indemnity. Enjoyed our stay but was totally different now.

• Astrid (9/5): - Die Lodge liegt direkt an einem Wasserloch. Wir haben Stunden damit verbracht einfach da zu sitzen und den Tieren zuzusehen. Die Atmosphäre im Team ist auch sehr angenehm. Es ist einfach ein gutes Haus. Die Lodge ist schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen und könnte Renovierungsarbeiten vertragen. Wir würden dennoch jederzeit wiederkommen
• Jürgen (9/5): Sehr schöne Lodge mit sehr freundlichem Personal und gutem Essen - Die Hobatere Lodge ist eine wunderbare Unterkunft mit freundlichem, aufmerksamen und hilfsbereitem Personal. Die Zimmer waren sehr schön, das Essen im Rahmen der Halbpension war frisch zubereitet und geschmackvoll. Der sundowner war super mit Löwensichtung.
• Jennifer (4/5): Significant decline in quality of services and guest attention - Room was okay although quite dated and in need of upgrade/modernization. The guide of our night drive was good! We visited Hobatere Lodge 3 years ago and had an amazing stay at the time. Hence we were looking forward to our second stay this time. However, we were so disappointed. Recent management change led to a significant decline in guest attention and quality of services. At check-in, absolutely unmotivated staff member "greeted" us. No information given about dinner and breakfast times. No towels at pool, no kettle in room (despite tea bags, coffee and mugs provided). The overall atmosphere in the lobby, lounge and dinner area was very strange, the place felt dead and soulless. The staff were standing around, completely unmotivated and nonstop on their phones. One of the waitresses was absolutely unfriendly and didn't say a single word during any of the 3 courses. No smiles, no efforts, nothing to make us feel welcome. Dinner used to be served outdoors as BBQ. When asked why it was now served inside, the answer was the lights on the restaurant terrace were broken/they didn't have any candles anymore. Do not recommend staying at Hobatere Lodge.
• Tina (9/5): - Eine wunderschöne Lodge, von der Bar aus kann man zwei Wasserlöcher beobachten! Die Zimmer sind liebevoll eingerichtet mit kleiner Terrasse. Wir konnten morgens bereits Elefanten aus nächster Nähe beobachten. Das Essen war grandios!

• Jürgen (9/5): Sehr nah am Gatlonen-gate gelegene ruhige, schöne Lodge mit gutem Essen - schönes Zentral- Haus mit Blick auf zwei Wasserlöcher mit Affen, Elefanten und verschiedenen Antilopen und Vögeln, Zimmer sind gut. Toller Night- Drive, sollte man buchen! Wege zwischen Zimmern und Zentral Haus sind sandig. Kein Wasserkocher auf dem Zimmer.
• ester alicia (10/5): 1 noche en tree house INOLVIDABLE - Reservamos 1 noche el tree house: fue la experiencia más impresionante y mágica de la vida!! Apartados (6km) de todo y todos. A la luz de las velas, 1 reflector y una radio para uso exclusivo en emergencia. Nos trajeron la cena completísima y muy rica...armaron la mesa en el balcón con mantel y fue de lujo. El baño abajo con agua caliente q disfrutamos tamb. El tree house tiene enfrente 1 waterhole iluminado...fabuloso para avistamientos. A la hora convenida (7am) pasaron a buscarnos para desayunar en el restaurante. Desayuno buffet muy rico. Todos muy amables y simpáticos. Teníamos incluído 1 game drive con King Martin (un maestro!!). Al minuto teníamos al lado a 6 leones.. y minutos después 4 más: incluído 1 intento de cacería a una jirafa inexperta q salvó su vida de milagro. Agradecemos a todos por tan hermosa e inolvidable experiencia, especialmente a King Martin. Cariños desde Buenos Aires Hobatere...te amamos!! Todo fue perfecto!!

• Sandrine Phlypo (8/5): - La beauté de l'endroit, le point d'eau avec animaux, le confort des chambres 6 transats autour de la piscine pour 40 personnes, un peu limites. Pareil pour les places assisses sur l'immense terrasse, juste 2 canapés et au moment de la préparation des repas, les tables sont réquisitionnées et donc on ne peut plus s'assoir. On s'attend, pour le prix et pour un lodge à avoir un peu plus de places assises.

• Nadine (9/5): Schöne, persönliche Unterkunft mit ersten Tieren. - Schöne Unterkunft mit scheinbar wenig Gästen. Tolle Lage in der Nähe zum Etosha aber auch mit eigenem, großem Gebiet mit Wildtieren, die sich immer wieder am eigenem Wasserloch zeigen (Oxy, Elefant, Pavian, Löwe etc.). Gutes Frühstück und Abendessen (Menü). Nettes Personal. Möglichkeit, geführte Fahrten im eigenen Wildbereich zu unternehmen. Hütten gut ausgestattet, Tee und Kaffee in der Hütte möglich. Fliegengitter fürs Bett, Fliegenspray steht zur Verfügung. Sauberkeit war ok, aber etwas unter meinen Erwartungen.
• Rosemarie Erna Gerda (10/5): - Außergewöhnlich hilfsbereites, freundliches und engagiertes Personal. Tolle Lage und großartige Tierwelt. Afrikanisches Flair der Lodge. Flexibilität bei Gästewünschen was die Speisekarte betrifft. Sehr gute Küche. Wir können diese Unterkunft wärmstens empfehlen. Nichts hätte besser sein können.
• GerdNRW (9/5): Sehr gute Community Lodge am Westeingang vom Etosha Nationalpark - Eine sehr gute Lodge mit Häusern im traditionellen Stil. Durch die traditionelle Bauweise war es in den Zimmern auch ohne Klimaanlage angenehm. Die Betten waren mit sehr großen Moskitonetzen ausgestattet allerdings sehr klein. Man bekam kaum sein Gepäck in den Raum. Das Restaurant, der Pool und die Aussicht auf das Wasserloch sind fantastisch und man sieht einige Tiere. Am Tag zuvor lag nach Aussage anderer Gäste sogar ein Gepard über Mittag dort. Es werden auch Game Drives angeboten, aber durch das hohe trockene Gras, dass nach den starken Regenfällen dieses Jahr sehr üppig und hoch ist, sahen wir "nur" Giraffen, Bergzebras und Antilopen - es ist halt kein Zoo, aber dadurch, das die Guides nicht auf ein Netzt von Safaritouren (wie in anderen Gebieten) zurückgreifen können, ist es deutlich schwieriger Raubtiere zu finden. Das Team war toll und hat für meine Frau, die Magen-Darm-Probleme hatte extra eine Brühe und Reis gekocht, so dass es ihr schnell besser ging. Ein großes Dankeschön nochmal.

• E (10/5): - Tolle Lodge am westlichen Teil des Etosha Parks. Einfache Einrichtung. Die 15km Zufahrt sind eine Herausforderung und sind besser mit einem 4x4 zu fahren.
• Gauthier (9/5): Un moment magique hors du temps ! - L’immense réserve autour de nous, la nourriture était excellente, la vue sur la savane de la chambre et de la terrasse, le safari avec conducteur dans la réserve La salle de bain, l’évier trop petit, abîmé, peu adapter à un couple, la décoration trop sombre et vétuste.
• Jane (4/5): A disappointing stay. Very few animals around even though on a waterhole. - It was expensive for what we got. The bathroom had a strong sewerage smell at times. Our room was right at the gate with cars driving past. No view. No kettle no hairdryer.
• Monika (9/5): Kurzurlaub - super nettes, aufmerksames Personal! Haben zu meinem Geburtstag ein Ständchen gesungen😊 Häuschen waren sauber und zweckmässig. Das Essen war lecker.
• Dirk (6/5): Lage top - Unterkunft ausbaufähig - Die Unterkunft hat Potenzial, das nicht wirklich ausgeschöpft wird. Der Standort ist super und das Hauptgebäude, in dem die Mahlzeiten eingenommen werden, macht einen tollen Eindruck und lädt mit Ausblick auf ein tolles Wasserloch zum Verweilen ein. Die Lodges sind von außen schicke Hütten und das Areal ist gut angelegt. Wir haben am Nachmittag eine wirklich schöne Safari-Tour von der Lodge aus gemacht, die wir auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen können. Leider sind die Hütten schon in die Jahre gekommen und man hat das Gefühl, dass seit dem Bau vor bestimmt 30 Jahren nichts mehr gemacht wurde. Alles ist alt und riecht komisch. Zudem war es in unserem Zimmer sehr staubig und sandig. Wenn die Hütten renoviert würden, hätte diese Unterkunft viel Potenzial. Aktuell finde ich das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht angemessen.

• MoRich89 (10/5): Eine Nacht im Paradies - Das Highlight der Lodge ist das Wasserloch und der Game Drive mit Wilhelm! Das Personal ist nett und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer sind meiner Meinung nach etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber in Ordnung und im Bad waren sehr viele Stechmücken. Was aber aufgrund der Lage verständlich ist.

• christopher (9/5): - Le lodge se trouve au bout d une piste de 16 kms. Il faut le mériter. Au bout on est accueilli chaleureusement par le personnel. On y mange très bien. La vue sur les animaux est top. Les games drive ont l air très bien même si on n.a pas eu le temps d essayer. On recommande vraiment ce lieu Comme a peu près partout, le Wi-Fi n est que dans les parties communes. Les chalets avec 2 lits simples sont peut etre un peu petits mais ca reste bien quand même surtout pour une nuit

• Diego (10/5): Notte all Hobatere - Lodge bellissimo in mezzo ad una riserva privata. A mezz'ora dal Galton Gate di Etosha Camere belle e pulite. Staff accogliente e premuroso, mia figlia non stava molto bene e si son prodigati per contattare un medico a Windhoek al telefono e fornirci l'assistenza necessaria, poi ogni 20 minuti passavano in camera per verificare il suo stato di salute. Game drive serale compreso nel prezzo. King Martin, la guida è stato eccezionale Gentilissimi. Abbiamo prenotato una camera normale e la tree House, sappiate che se soggiornate alla Tree House sarete in mezzo al nulla a 4km dal lodge, con una pozza d'acqua davanti alla casetta. Unico dettaglio che abbiamo appreso al nostro arrivo è che alla Tree House si rimane isolati dal resto del lodge. Vi portano alla casetta, vi lasciano lì con cena e bevande in camera e vi vengono a riprendere la mattina per fare colazione al lodge. Splendido per una coppia in cerca di privacy e avventura. Ma se siete un gruppo di amici risultete separati dagli altri. Magari segnalare a priori le condizioni particolari di soggiorno della Tree House
• chiara (9/5): - Game drive con la guida king Martin, molto bravo. Non abbiamo visto i leoni, che hanno nella riserva ma che ovviamente non si fanno vedere tutti i giorni. In ogni caso è stato un giro interessante. Struttura in una riserva statale di fronte ad etosha, ottimo stop prima di proseguire per il nord,dal nostro punto di vista.
• James (8/5): Nice place to stay, just needs some small tweaks. - We had a warm welcome and all staff are very friendly. The room is in small separate chalet a short walk from the main building. Beds were comfortable and mosquito nets provided. Toiletries were good quality. Breakfast has a reasonable selection. Evening meals were excellent, well prepared and nicely presented. The restaurant and terrace are nice spacesoverlooking the reserve. The game drive was very enjoyable and the guide knowledgeable. The bathroom had a slight drain smell throughout, not too much but noticeable. Toiletries in the shower were in a glass bottle, which fell and smashed dangerously. Towels vould have been more luxurious. Lighting in the room is quite dull, although it is understood that power is perhaps limited. There were some holes in the mosquitos nets. Internet is only available in the main building and is very poor. For the reletively expensive price these things should could have been better, but overall they are minor and did not detract from the peace and beauty of the place.

We almost had the complete lodge for ourselves and relaxing at the terrace with a drink watching the elephane, zebra;s and antheloppe was beautiful safari experience,

• Christopher (9/5): - Location is amazing. It borders Galton Gate at Etosha, and you need to drive through the private game reserve (30-40 mins drive) to enter and exit. Lots of lions on the property, so don't get out and have your camera ready! The staff was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. We didn't technically take a game drive, but, since we had to travel to and from our room 6km away, we received a mini one. The guide was excellent and ended up tracking a group of lion cubs which we got to observe for nearly 20 minutes. I would definitely recommend not passing up a game drive here. The private game reserves due to their relatively small (but still huge) size are often much better for observing animals than the significantly larger nearby Etosha gate. We had mistakenly booked a luxury camping site called the Treehouse for 2 nights. Would only suggest a single night stay at the treehouse, and the rest at the lodge or a bungalow. It's a campsite, so don't expect an attached bathroom, or air conditioning. Also, you're locked in by the staff, due to the danger of nearby animals. Suggest showing up on time (we didn't) and leaving after sunrise to fully appreciate the view of your private watering hole and the beautiful sunrise/sunset. The treehouse would be excellent for photographers. The food was very good in the dining area of the lodge, especially the hot breakfast in the morning and the prepared meal in the evening. For the treehouse, they pack your dinner, and it is cold. We were not big fans of that, but it is understandable. Maybe bring some snacks with you as you won't have any options if you dislike what they've packed. The staff was able to accommodate us in the lodge for the second evening and helped us move all our baggage. The rooms in the lodge are very nice, no aircon, but you won't need it in the winter. Hot showers, and a nice porch with a view of the game reserve watering hole. Some of the staff appeared to have a lingering cough, likely just a common cold. I truly understand that not everyone has the option to call in sick—life and work demands don’t always make that possible. I did notice one staff member handled a coughing episode by using a towel, which showed good reflexes, but then used that same towel to polish silverware. Unfortunately, I had to deduct a few points for cleanliness based on that moment.

• Millietess (10/5): We will be back!! - An amazing place to stay. We used it as we were travelling, but another time we would spend time there. We loved everything about it. It is community run, the food is lovely - a talented chef. Martin the guide is to be commended for his dedication to the concession - so knowledgable. Highly recommend. A little bit of maintenance needs doing around the room but not enough to stop me giving it 10.

• Guest (9/5): Great place to stay outside of Etosha, lovely food and staff - The property is an a great location, you get to drive through the private game reserve up as you arrive which we found exciting. The lodge is also close to Etosha National Park- Galton Gate making it accessible to do day trips to the National park. The staff were really friendly, we particularly enjoyed the afternoon game drive and the driver was so lovely- telling us interesting facts, stories and providing great drinks and snacks. This was the best drive during our stay in Namibia. The food was so good and the rooms were comfortable. The look out onto the waterhole and the outdoor area was great. The WiFi only worked in communal areas and it did not last for long before it ran out which was frustrating in an area with limited signal. Other than this the stay was perfect.

• Niels (9/5): Leuk begin van ons avontuur in Etosha. - Mooi gelegen in de natuur. Authentieke Lodge met super mooie game drives! Alle wilde dieren zijn hier al te vinden. Eten was goed. Badkamer was gedateerd en de gordijnen konden we niet helemaal sluiten.

• Montefusco (6/5): - The staff was absolutely friendly, helpful, and gave us recommendations on drives and activities. They made a great musical show and sang during the dinner. The food at dinner was excellent. The location is stunning; we saw our first giraffe at the waterhole, and several other wildlife, which you can enjoy while sipping a cocktail at the terrace. The room: clearly needs renovation, especially the bathroom fixtures. They could do some effort in decoration and add a kettle for coffee and tea, as well as extra light. Because of that, the place is overrated and too expensive.
• David (10/5): Amazing lodge in a nature reserve - This lodge is so fantastic - the road on the way to the lodge past the gate is FILLED with animals. Just in the 30-40 minute drive from the main gate to the lodge itself, we saw many animals including elephants up close. Just the drive to the lodge is a self-drive game drive itself! But don't miss the game drives they organize from the lodge, too! This was a beautiful place to stay with nice large rooms.
