The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and truly made our stay feel special. The front desk staff provided outstanding service, were friendly and helpful, and really lived up to everything promised in the ad. The location is super convenient, just a short distance from the ferry and close to downtown, which made getting around very easy. Overall, an awesome experience and we would definitely come back and stay here again.

The location was perfect-a super short walk to the Public Market! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was pleasant. Front desk was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Nice clean room and the gym was small, but perfect for a great workout! Highly recommend!

- Johnnyboy2012 (4/5): Sad - The people working here are super friendly and the location is great and that’s pretty much where the praises stop for me. I’m not a hotel guy, I’m more of a Airbnb type but I decided to go with this “luxurious experience” to see if I’d enjoy it more. As soon as we stepped in the room it had a mild smell of feet, it was warm even though they had a weird AC system that doesn’t cool very well so that even setting it at the lowest temperature allowed by the hotel you have to wait until it’s been dark outside for a while to feel any relief. The mini fridge was useless for cooling so some food I had had to be chunked, the curtains need replacing, water pressure sucks everything just felt flimsy, the only thing we enjoyed was the view and the soap, 21 and up ONLY to visit the Nest so we missed out on that too, the pillows smelled too….overall it was not a good experience, I could’ve gotten a way better place for a fraction of the price and I totally regret wasting my money here.

Allocated corner Thompson Suite with full wrap around views of Puget Sound . Just a stunning suite with view to die for right up at our very best ever with Hyatt …on par with Park Hyatt Sydney . Also as requested it was quiet a few floors below the uber trendy The Nest rooftop lounge Comp breakfast very good . Selection of dishes excellent - recovering from jet lag my wife and I were first im line every morning at 7 am ! Special shout out to Dylan Jones on front desk for all his kindness in arranging our stay and Oscar and teamates in the restaurant who were just great to deal with Really enjoying the Thompson brand understated downtown luxury Hugely recommended
- SimoneT621 (8/5): Good hotel - We stayed at the Thompson Hotel in Seattle for a family vacation, and overall, it was a good experience. The location is definitely a highlight—everything is within walking distance, so it was easy to get around and explore the city. The room itself was on the smaller side and didn't have much of a view, but it was clean and comfortable, which worked fine for our trip. However, the hotel didn't have much to offer in terms of activities for kids, so it wasn't the best fit for our little ones looking for things to do on-site. That said, if you're mainly there to explore Seattle or for a business trip, it’s a solid choice. Great service, good location, but families with kids might want to consider other places that offer more entertainment for children.

There are some good restaurants near by and the hotel restaurant is also pretty nice. My bed was super comfy and the bathroom felt luxurious. The hotel is not too big, so easy to get to know the staff and it felt like coming home when I returned after long days of work engagements.

- brennao370 (10/5): The only place to stay - We will only stay at The Thompson Seattle when we come into town. Not only for the hotel, but the staff makes this hotel top tier. Not only does all staff make you feel welcomed, they make you feel like it’s a second home. Right when you get to the steps, you’re greeted warmly from the front of the house team. Valet team is wonderful & so helpful. After opening those front doors you’re welcomed by guest services/concierge staff. They are also incredibly kind. I have never once had a “meh” experience with any staff member up front. Leah, is one of the reasons why we keep coming back and share so many milestones and special memories with The Thompson. I mean, from an engagement, to baby moon, our son’s first hotel stay, to much more. She goes above and beyond, always is so informative about what’s going on for the duration we are visiting, and just makes the stay better. Thank you Thompson team, without you guys, we wouldn’t have had so many great memories!
- Nomad657642 (2/5): Worst Thompson Hotel - 1. Our room was not cleaned for two consecutive days despite all the calls and messages we left with the front desk and housekeeping. Horrendous experience given we were there for a week. 2. In addition, we asked for their help to book a car service and luggage support for checkout, we were told to just get an Uber with no offer of help. They then changed their tone and indicated they can help, but after we provided details of the pick up, they changed your mind and canceled again. 3. We were declined a table at the restaurant because they said they were full. This is the only “luxury” hotel I’ve ever experienced where guests have no food options. Not what you want after a long flight. As a frequent traveler, I don’t recommend this hotel at all. Amex platinum should not have this under their fine hotels list.

Walking distance from tons of restaurants, the aquarium, the Seatlle Art Museum, and the Pike Street Market. All of the staff was super friendly and the lobby was gorgeous. The rooftop bar was nice and the view from there was amazing as well.
- moiram712 (10/5): Great for a staycation and a theater weekend - Great location. I was staying overnight since I was going to a matinee at the paramount. Hotel is about 5 mins from Light rail station (use exit C1) and about 10-15 mins to the paramount theater. The Moore theater is just one street up on 2nd. I would recommend staying here if you want to turn a theater experience into a short staycation. Also the burger from in room dining, might be the best burger I’ve ever had.

Starting from first day , fire alarm due a problem started at 4 am. and do you think anyone resolve the problem ? forget that... to last day covered expenses I never had and need to resolve.. all day a new problem in hotel. Worst experience until now in Seattle. Please do not go to this hotel!
- Leslie (10/5): - The room view was spectacular! We walked to Pike Place Market and then attended a concert at the Moore Theater that was just blocks away.
- 333oanhn (10/5): Everything exceeded our expectations - Highly recommend this place! We were so surprised at how beautiful, luxurious and clean it was. The location is perfect if you want to walk and explore downtown. It is only a block away from Pike Place Market and less than 10’ walk from the Aquarium. The hotel is centrally located and surrounded by so many shops and restaurants. The staffs are super friendly and attentive. We can’t be happier with our decision. The area seemed safe and well maintained.
- V448LElisas (10/5): Friendly place, phenomenal view. - This is the second time I have stayed at this location. As always, the room was very nice. We stayed in a king room with a water view. The view is unmatchable in my opinion. I am a retired flight attendant and this is my favorite view from any hotel in any city in the world. I have no major complaints, but I do feel that the in-room beverage situation could be improved upon. The mini bar is fully stocked, and there are snacks and things to choose from, but the ice situation is very poor. There are only ice machines on every other floor and those are not real ice machines. They are small chest freezers with bags of ice in them. Our freezer had bags of ice that had all frozen together in large, solid clumps. The coffee machine could definitely be improved upon as well. There isn't really a coffee machine in the room, just an electric warming pot for water. There are a lot of options out there for hotel coffee pots that would make a nicer pot of coffee than this by far. And, really folks, we are in Seattle!! Our staff was very friendly and we were treated kindly the entire stay. My overall opinion of the Thompson is a wonderful one, and I will definitely be going back.
- Egscho (10/5): Best Hotel in Seattle Thompson by Hyatt - I’m a Globalist with Hyatt and Ambassador at Marriott. That means I spend many nights at Hotels. As someone who spends lot of time at Hotels, I have seem the wide range of good and bad. Recently, I’ve decided to spend more time at Thompson Hotel based on the reviews. The reviews are all true. This hotel is located near Pike place and downtown restaurants. This place also has AMAZING views if you are lucky enough to have Water View. The food and drinks are amazing and very tasty. Best of all, the service is amazing. When I was being checked in, Abbie (host at front desk) noticed my date of Birth. I got a pleasant surprise later that day. Piece of delicious cake. All I can say is that the thoughtfulness was really touching. Thank you Abbie and Thompson Hotel

- huanh2026 (6/5): Mixed Experience with One Positive Moment - I stayed at this hotel to celebrate my birthday and had a mixed experience overall. The check-in interaction was not very welcoming, and I later experienced issues with room noise that affected my sleep. When I reported the issue the next day, there was little follow-up. Breakfast quality did not meet expectations and was disappointing compared to what online reviews suggested. That said, I would like to acknowledge a positive moment: a male staff member who appeared to be a manager showed genuine care when he learned it was my birthday and kindly offered a breakfast credit. His professionalism and thoughtfulness were greatly appreciated and made a difference. With better communication, staff training, and attention to room and food quality, this hotel could provide a more consistent experience.

Awesome if you have pets and the staff is inviting & welcoming! - The location to Pike Place Market is perfect 3 minute walk. The staff is the most friendly and inviting staff I've ever experienced at any hotel. The rooftop bar is one not to miss they greet you with a glass of champagne and a cookie when you walk in really set the expectation I will definitely be returning.
- 892jamiei (6/5): Strong cologne smell - We thought we were upgrading to this hotel and honestly besides the location- we didn’t love it. The smell of cologne was pretty overwhelming. The rooms are small- and the pillows are non existent. 3 pillows equal the depth of a standard pillow. There is a large group of homeless individuals that congregate by the door and the fire department was there twice in the 48 hours we were there. Walking back after dark the sidewalk was completely blocked with the homeless. The staff was helpful but we were underwhelmed none the less. Spending over $600 for two nights put our family back quite a bit and I wish we would have gone to a big box brand hotel a little further away.

- siunausz (2/5): Disappointing Stay: Thompson Seattle Misapplied Globalist Benefits on FHR Reservation - I stayed at Thompson Seattle using Amex FHR as a Hyatt Globalist, and this was by far one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I’ve had. At check-in, the front desk claimed they could not see my Globalist number and insisted that FHR is a “third-party booking like Expedia”, therefore FHR benefits and Globalist benefits are mutually exclusive. I was told I could either take the $60/day FHR breakfast credit or Globalist benefits, but not both. This is clearly incorrect. Even after I provided my Globalist number on the spot, I was denied complimentary Globalist breakfast. No room upgrade was offered, and when I asked if parking could be waived instead, that was also refused. A manager later came out and verbally confirmed that both Globalist and FHR benefits would be honored, but the “upgrade” was merely moving the room from the 9th floor to the 12th floor due to “no availability.” Checkout was even worse. The first bill listed all breakfasts as “lunch” and only applied the $100 FHR hotel credit to drinks. After I challenged this, a second bill was issued, but it only applied two $60 FHR breakfast credits, still refusing to honor Globalist complimentary breakfast—directly contradicting what the manager promised at check-in. When I pointed this out, another manager said he could not decide and would need to wait until his colleague returned the following week. Service attitude was poor throughout. When we requested help bringing luggage downstairs, the front desk responded sarcastically: “You can ask the valet yourself, I don’t know if they want to help you.” The environment also does not match a 4.5-star hotel. Despite being near Pike Place Market, the surrounding area smelled of urine, with many homeless individuals nearby. The hotel has no proper main entrance—just a street-level door next to dumpsters. The so-called “city view” room faced a blank wall. The room was extremely small, with no microwave, a bathroom without a shower door, and poor drainage. Overall, staff seemed untrained on basic Hyatt and FHR policies, managers contradicted each other, and promises were not honored. This property does not live up to its rating or brand.
- behappyt2026 (10/5): Relaxing stay with thoughtful touches - Friendly staff and a great night’s sleep made this stay a win. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the hotel was wonderfully quiet. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. All of my Chase Sapphire Rewards benefits were honored, including a freshly prepared snack of truffle popcorn and roasted nuts. At the restaurant, my favorites were the King Salmon and the BLT-E—both delicious and highly recommended.
- jordanhO1876VK (10/5): Always a great experience! - We are big Seattle sports fans and come here for every game. The rooms are clean and comfortable, staff is wonderful - flexible, responsive, and accommodating, and valet service makes getting in and out a breeze. Once checked in everything is nearby; either a short ride or walking distance. Using the hotel as a hub we rarely wait more than 2 minutes for a rideshare, never have to worry about parking, and get dropped off at the door for any venue. When the night is over we sleep as well as we do at home. It’s like having our own apartment in the city, we love it here.
- Rebecca (3/5): At the moment nit too happy and want everyone to know how I was treated. - Comfortable bed Front desk staff, morning staff said he was going to charge me for no show, I told him what am I, for some reason Expedia and book.com made two reservations night shift employee named Kiana said she would take care of that. And that she would charge me for only one room. But in the morning I was charged for a no show again, not too happy to go to vacation and had to discuss double charges with miorning staff horrible . I would appreciate if you can take care of this please.

We celebrated my birthday at Thompson Seattle by Hyatt, and everything was absolutely amazing! From the very beginning, the experience felt special. I was pleasantly surprised with a lovely Prosecco and a delicious cake, along with a sweet postcard — such a thoughtful birthday touch that made my day even more memorable. My husband and I stayed on a high floor (8th floor), and our room had an incredible view straight to the ocean. Waking up to that view was unforgettable. The rooftop bar was very cool — great atmosphere, beautiful views, and a perfect place to relax in the evening. Breakfast was also delicious, with great quality and variety. Overall the service, details and atmosphere were excellent. I truly felt celebrated and taken care of. Highly recommend this hotel for special occasions — we would absolutely love to come back! ❤️✨

The soda water in the restaurant is out of a can and not worth the $7.00 they charge for it. We loved the fragrances of the soap and shampoo and purchased all of them to take home.

I took the ferry and it’s a short 15 minute walk to the hotel. I was able to walk everywhere! Great service, good food, and great location all in one! Highly recommend!
- snarlz (10/5): Fantastic Getaway in the heart of Seattle - My wife and I stayed at the Thompson to celebrate NewYear’s Day and to attend a Seattle Kraken game. From the time we arrived, our experience was fantastic. We were promptly greeted and warmly welcomed to the hotel by Joe at the front desk. He went out of his way to make sure our one-night getaway was a special one. Check in was simple and the complimentary champagne was treat. Our room had an amazing view from the 12th floor of the Puget Sound, Pike Place Market and the Seattle waterfront. Everything about the Thompson is first class and we will definitely be back because of the amazing service and fantastic location.

I had already moved rooms once due to being next to the ice machine and made loud clanging every 3 minutes as ice dropped. Went to breakfast the next morning and had the most over cooked eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. Could barely cut it with a fork. They did not heat up the muffin underneath so that was cold and raw. The took 3 dollars off my bill. 21 dollars for a cup of fruit and a coffee. I used to come to the Hyatt very often and will not ever be coming back to this location.
- crystalbB3730PJ (10/5): Can’t beat the location and wonderful staff! - The front desk staff was warm, friendly, humorous and very helpful without being pretentious. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Our room was well appointed with popcorn, mixed nuts, water and sparkling water provided for our Chase Sapphire stay. Loved the close proximity to Pike Place, Benaroya, Space Needle, Seattle Center. Valet parking is right next to the front door, and highly recommended. My only critique is they seemed a touch understaffed for the breakfast rush but you can tell lots of managers stepped in to fill the gaps. Great job, we will absolutely be back!

There was a lot of dust on the coffee machine tray, so I’m not sure if that was wiped down recently. Second issue isn’t really the properties fault but there are a lot of homeless around there and one time walking back there was urine all over and the homeless were fighting each other.
- adventureswithanny (10/5): Spectacular Suite View! - We celebrated our post engagement at The Thompson in Seattle this weekend! It’s close by the pier and within mins of Pike Place market. I booked through my Amex Travel and got a room upgrade to a suite with the view of the water facing the wheel. It WAS spectacular. I gasped of how beautiful it was. It was the perfect weekend to end a busy and crazy year! The staff went above and beyond and made sure we have what we needed. Food was great over all! Their crab omelette was chef’s kiss! Joe and Emily, who attended us at the front were welcoming and helpful! Overall, we highly recommend the Thompson.

- cmH5130UD (2/5): Best Advice is to look elsewhere - Was very unimpressed with the stay, no blankets or bedding in the room for the pull out couch, both times we left the room we came back to the maid service had turned the heater back up to 76, and then we had keys removed from our car by the Valet and lost/stolen and then had to almost beg for them to even initially ask them to look. The worst experience I have had in many years of staying in places of this advertised quality.

- WLisaG (8/5): Great Go-To Downtown Seattle Location - This was my second time staying at the Thompson Seattle, and it’s just as I remembered. Stayed in Room 1215 on the top floor, which has the best water view and absolutely stunning to wake up to. We kept the blinds open 24/7! Requested a microwave and they brought one up at no charge, which I really appreciated. Really enjoyed the pre-packaged bags of ice available on each floor. Plenty of complimentary bottles of water provided. The staff is always friendly, and valet couldn’t be more convenient with drop-off right at the front door. The location is unbeatable: an easy walk to everything. You’re basically one block from the water, the pier, shops, and Pike Place Market. Truly the perfect home base for exploring Seattle. No Club available but enjoyed the Globalist breakfast at Conversation (near the lobby) which offered some variety, and The Nest rooftop bar is perfect for light bites and drinks with a very cool view. I’ll always choose to stay here for future trips to Seattle. Highly recommend!

I would have stayed longer. 😴 The thermostat wouldn’t go below 65 which was a point of concern for us because we like to sleep very cold; otherwise all good. We slept well, the hotel itself was quiet although not soundproof to the streets below. Get the valet parking if you want to sleep in!

My wife and I genuinely enjoyed our stay between the extra attention and the room we received. In the future, whenever I visit Seattle either on business or with my wife, we will absolutely be staying at the hotel.

- 630panj (10/5): Good Weekend Stay-cation - It’s located at a very convenient corner close to the Pike Market. The lobby has good vibe. Greeted by friendly Front Desk. They offered to reimburse the self-parking. The room is clean and comfortable. Love the design of the bathrooms. The rooms are quiet, thanks to the neighbors. I was able to sleep splendidly. The only point off maybe the pillows are quite soft and not the most supportive, but that’s personal preference. Special mention to the restaurant first floor. Great brunch.

- 276kaylynnl (4/5): Stay At A Different Hyatt - Unfortunately, the A/C was broken in the room and the staff was very slow to respond or offer up a solution. Initially, we were told the hotel was "fully booked" so they could not move us into another room. The hotel maintenance staff brought in a swamp cooler to try to cool off the room with the broken A/C unit. Then, an hour later, we notified the hotel that the swamp cooler was blowing luke warm air (instead of cold) we were told they had a suite available that that we could move into. The suite took another half an hour to be cleaned before we could move our belongings into it, and we almost missed our reservation at the Space Needle. The cost of the initial room was on the higher side so I would expect a room that was fully functioning. And as I'm a loyal Hyatt member I expected much better service. I advise all Hyatt members to NOT stay at the Thompson Hyatt-Seattle.

- S2934OFdanielj (8/5): Great location stay - Chose this place for a birthday trip with my wife, and honestly, it was a mixed bag. You can't beat the location for hitting the market and the harbor. As a Globalist, the upgrade to a studio suite was a great touch, and the view was genuinely stunning—it almost made up for the room's shortcomings. Almost. The room itself was looking tired; we're talking torn and even missing curtains. The real letdown, though, was the service. A simple text for water was taking longer, and the slice of birthday cake they promised us just never showed up. It's the kind of small detail you really notice on a special occasion. The breakfast benefit is generous, but the food itself is just fine, nothing memorable. And a heads-up: it's valet-only parking. Bottom line: The location and view are 10/10, but the worn-out room and spotty service aren't up to the usual Hyatt standard we've come to expect.

Unfortunately, the staffing/servicing leaves something to be desired and the valet parking daily charge was completely unreasonable at $68.75.

Very much frequent Hyatt patrons but hadn’t stayed at this brand before. It was smart, ( hotel appeared pretty new), service was good, and the location was ideal for our stay - we left the car with valet parking and didn’t need it again until we left. Would stay again.

The front desk was not helpful when I checked in, provided no information about the hotel. The view from the rooftop bar is nice, drinks are good and I would not order the food. We ordered 3 dishes and they were not edible.
- K3816WHbrendab (10/5): Views.Location.Delicious - Views of the bays and Pikes Place Market were incredible from the large windows in the spacious, stylish and clean room. Go to the rooftop bar for amazing views especially for sunset or a late night drink. The location is perfect for walking through the market and along the waterfront. Breakfast (smoked salmon Benedict) and dinner (Salmon) were both excellent and delicious. The entire staff was superb.

The hotel has an excellent location for us being so close to Benaroya Symphony Hall, nearby excellent coffee shops restaurants and stores - Pike's Market. Our plan was to dine at the restaurant, expecting fine dining. Instead, we decided to dine at the Capital Grille one night and the George (Fairmont) another. The restaurant is not white tablecloth or upscale. However, if you are expecting burger food, and food's not important. You'll be fine. The hotel staff are excellent but the rooms are tired. Our standards are high. Every chance we get to stay in Seattle for the symphony, we try a hotel stay.

All the staff at the Thompson went above and beyond with customer service. We stayed three nights and had very good food and service at the Conversation Restaurant. Reggie, Jeff and Julia were wonderful servers! We will definitely stay again. We are from Wisconsin.
