Guest Reviews
- Maria Isabel (10/5): I had a relaxing and comfortable stay at Sugarland Hotel. - The location is convenient. NA
- Stahl (9/5): -
- Redz (10/5): Sugarland is full of sweetness - The overall experience is really good. What made the stay super great was the staff. Super nice and very accomodating and respectful. The breakfast is 10/10. The room is very cozy, comfortable and clean. I wish there are hotel slippers though Booking directly at the hotel is cheaper than booking.com
The pool kinda disappointed us coz it's super open to the public. It's always full of people because it's near the dining area. You don't have privacy. We were looking forward to it. And it's super small compared to the photos
- Angelina (10/5): - Staffs are all friendly and respectful. N/A

- Angela (6/5): For party events, it’s a great place. The party event dinner’s menu was excellent! - Staff were extremely welcoming and accomodating. Too crowded/noisy, too close to the main road, and older building.

- Grace (8/5): - Accommodating staff None
- Richard (8/5): - Bacolod isn't particularly touristy, so there's not so many hotels. This is clearly one of the nicest ones available .
The rooms are comfortable, the shower is good, the AC works great.
Some of the staff were really nice, Dana really did try her best for us.
We were there for a wedding and the venue was lovely. The catering for the wedding was very good, and the restaurant was quite good as well.
Location is pretty good, it helps that it's next to a big mall I'm sorry to say the buffet breakfast was absolutely shocking, which is really disappointing because the restaurant and wedding catering were both good. Bread was so dry it crumbled like sand, meat was turning green, coffee was brown water, juice wasn't fresh...
The pool was very dirty, it was actually slippy because of all the slime on the bottom. And no loungers, just sofas and dining tables.
- CHONA (7/5): -

- Jerralyne (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (7/5): Ok - Ok Room lock didn't work
- Federico T (10/5): Food! Glorious food! - Love Sugarland for their food. Don’t care much about the location (far from Downtown) but good, comfortable room for the price. Very courteous and efficient staff!
- Bruce (10/5): I would stay again and recommend to any traveler - Clean, polite, the staff was very friendly and accommodating
- Alex (10/5): - Very professional, clean , good food
- Ned (7/5): Comfortable overnight stay. - Appreciate early check-in, not 15:00 as advisertised. Breakfast was good poolside. Restaurant cooking is good. Good wifi Missing toilet items, toothbrush, slippers.
- Erlie (10/5): - I love their breakfast buffet, their clean property and very quick when you need something.
- Maria Lorna (10/5): - Very nice place
- Maria Lorna (10/5): - E cellent
- Michael and Raquel (10/5): Pleasantly Surprised - Booked this hotel because most hotels were already booked for the night and this was the best option. We are so happy that we did! The staff is so professional and very nice. Dinner in the restaurant was very delicious. We were pleasantly surprised upon check-in that the breakfast buffet was included in the overnight price. Nice breakfast too. We will definitely stay here again.
- Maria Lorna (10/5): - Excelent
- Konrad (8/5): Very good -
- maribeth (10/5): - Nome
- Benjie (4/5): - Food buffet is not good the staff is hard to deal not friendly the lady in the front is not good to deal and arrogant not accommodating. The room is okay but air conditioning is not cold as I needed. The parking is Kay the guard on duty is very nice and friendly.good job guard!
- Joana (10/5): - I like the beautiful lobby and the room .
- Efren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hernando (2/5): - Limited parking, I lost my shoes in my room.
- Allen (8/5): - The towels have seen better days. There are no dental kits, facial tissues, slippers, or extra toilet rolls. You'll need to request these from HouseKeeping.
- Ramela (6/5): - Poor wifi, toilet didn’t flush well, and you can hear the noise of the other guests and staff walking in the hallway.
- Ramela (6/5): - Poor wifi, toilet didn’t flush well, and noisy.
- DANIEL (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay at the Sugarland Hotel the staff were always very helpful and friendly and the property is maintained to a very high standard. I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay there
- Robert (8/5): Very Nice stay - Nice hotel, the oldest in Bacolod, but well maintained and upgraded. Restaurant was very good, great selection of dishes.
- Edren (8/5): - The convenience of rescheduling my stay was good and fast
- Maricel (4/5): - Receptionist aren’t nice at all! Not informative tapus na pka unprofessional, and not friendly! Also wifi sucks! Walang wifi talaga d abot sa room
- Herbert Herminio (8/5): Sugarland - Hotel needs a renovation. Aircon is functioning well but there was a slight noise when the aircon is ON. But hotel is accessible to public places and is pretty decent. You should improve on breakfast. 2 days and food is a bit too salty. No bidet in the toilet. Shower head is probably clogged a bit so water flow is a bit restricted.
- Michael (8/5): - Nice older hotel at the South end of Bacolod
Poor parking
- Hector Oscar (10/5): - Me gustó la amabilidad del personal.
No me gustó ver un ratón en el elevador
- Bleisha (5/5): Not the beat hotel to represent Bacolod - The location which was close to my home The front office were not smiling given that it is December! No hair dryer and I have to demand for it which should be basic. I asked for hotel slippers and they want to charge 50PHP which is nothing really as I booked for 5 nights. No bidet in the toilet! Breakfast spread is poor and I have to wait 20-30mins on my first morning for them to refill the meager viand options.
The waiters and security guards are nice though.
Very disappointed with Sugarland Hotel.
- Mike (2/5): - Booked the room for a dear friend & his family for New Year's Eve. Upon check-in my friend encountered a mouse in the room that he had to exterminate!!!
The New Year's Eve buffet was overpriced for what was offered & the food was sub par.
Will not book here again.
- Maria Antonia (6/5): - The room didn’t have the normal things a hotel room normally has. No hair dryer, no ref, only 2 hangers in the cabinet, sporadic WiFi signal and expensive food in the hotel compared to Bacolod standards. They say in the room they have 24/7 in room dining when in reality, the kitchen closes at 10 pm.
- Michael (2/5): - The wifi not connecting properly and the tv not working call the front desk and i wait almost 3 hours before they fix it
- Pamela (6/5): - Grew up in Bacolod, and Sugarland hotel has been known for their good food ever since. The only downside of my family’s stay at Sugarland hotel was the hot water and shower head in their bathroom. My family asked for maintenance but no one came to fix the problem. For the future in case we plan to book an occasion again we will book SL as our go to venue. I’d like to give credits to Ms. Lynsie Bernas for patiently answering my inquiries thru messenger. Keep up the good work.
- Nickie Sann (8/5): service is bad (breakfast area) - The facilities are excellent but the staff service most especially during breakfast was very awful!! The staff was being disrectful to my mom, SHE should how to deal with the customers and on how to treat them well. We didnt like how she acted. SHE needs to be trained AGAIN. If she continues acting that way, she will forever leave a bad impression to the guests like me most esp to those na matyag niya hindi ka afford. Just saying
- ANTIPAS IV (6/5): Not staying here again - The front desk personnel were not cordial, too serious when I checked in. When checking out, I had to wait for about 10 minutes while one of the personnel was just chatting with another customer, when she could have easily checked me out.
Restaurant personnel were nice and courteous.. Very slow Internet in my room..
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very safety place and quiet
- Evelyn (8/5): - Perfect
- Nimi (8/5): - The shower area wets the floor outside of shower caused by no proper closure to trap the water.
The refrigerator was not working in our room. It got serviced but still did not work. We just ignored it since we only stayed 2 night.
But overall, our stay was good.
- Luitzen (8/5): Friendly hotel - Room was okay, the restaurant is top.
One day forget to clean the room.
After complaining there was someone in two minuts. I think just accidently.
The place is a bit old an old fashion but still clean and every thing was function. Accept the swimming pool.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The food has always been consistently great all these years. Service is great too. Cheers!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Old hotel - Hotel is old.. water in the toilet is noisy, wi-fi not working. No signal for both Smart and Sun but food is good
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Stayed for a couple of nights. Beds were comfortable but could hear all the noise from the events. Hotel rooms had no hot water and were a little run down. Over all not super bad but not super awesome.
- Ray (8/5): - The A/C worked well and the room was very cold. There is a safe in the room, very important. Overall, a good location. Staff very friendly.
- noel (10/5): Nice hotel. - Nice old hotel, very pleasant staff, I just wish there was more than 1 small elevator.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good stay.. Thanks - its a good location the Hotel is good...near the highway & easy access to go anywhere in the city..the staff are very helpful and easy to approached..good stay in this hotel...
- melanie (8/5): - Please cover your food serving tray with white cloth( for room service) or change it to new ones because it looks dirty maybe because it’s old already
- Lourdes (4/5): L'Fisher! Here we come! - That's was a big rat at the ledge of the ceiling and when told, the concierge seemed to be nonchalant about it,
Mattress was extremely itchy and bathroom smelled of mildew
On the third night, I was awaken by the noise for the geiko
- Verified traveler (4/5): Not a pleasent experience - I had to call maintenance several times to help repair no hot water. But the issue resurfaced every day.
Also had been approached with additional charges related to their "free continental breakfast". Luckily we never used these "free vouchers" to eat so the charge was dismissed. Very misleading.
- Sandy R. (6/5): Beautiful City of Smiles, Iconic Sugarland hotel - Pleasant experience overall, my son was just wondering why there's a pool yet no one's allowed to swim. It would have been a perfect place to stay, and to relax after a warm day outside; one of the reason we booked was because there's a pool indoors so that was a big disappointment, to find out it's just for show.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good for Bacolod - You do come to the city of Bacolod and expect five star hotels so I rate this hotel a three star but that is not an insult as the sugerland hotel is close to the best in Bacolod the room is clean and comfortable, the food is good but the hotel staff are awesome and I sincerely mean this so I would recommend sugerland to anyone but do not judge too hard and you will have a wonderful stay regards Rob and Julie Australia
- John (4/5): Oldest hotel in the city, but poorly managed. - We arrived to find our room ready, but on entry found 2 single beds, appears you must ask for a queen bed, not what I'm used to.
The room was clean and tidy, no drinking water provided, only in "suites" not standard rooms, mains water is undrinkable.
Outside the room on a steel frame was an old split system compressor running 24 hours and it was loud, making sleep impossible.
WIFI was around 0.02Mpbs in the room, with a "repeater: outside the room, appears they are not set correctly. Cellphone signals are poor as well so give up using the internet in the hotel.
- David (8/5): sweet sugarland - courteous, wifi iffy
- David (8/5): sugarland sweet - good price - very courteous. wifi on-off
- Dbj (8/5): - i have stayed in this hotel several times over the years. hotel staff is very accommodating and courteous.my only complaint is that the towels which is supposed to be white is so gray and looks worn out.maybe they should start changing it every so often . otherwise everything was OK.
- Greg (8/5): Nice hotel - Nice hotel but breakfast is almost the same food every day, however the staff at so friendly.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I make a reservation for my friend to stay.
- Anthony Bert (4/5): Unorganized - I reserved a room with a queen bed but when I checked in I was given two twin beds. There were noisy teen angers down the hall two nights in a row. We called the front desk and the staff only called the teen agers which only made them be quite for about 15 minutes. I asked the front desk staff to send a security guard and they refused. The hotel could be so much better if the staff were more organized.
- Dixie (6/5): Stay at another hotel - Not a fan of this hotel. You could not even use their pool - it is filthy (the pool color was green - need I say anything else?). No fitness center plus the rooms were tiny. Air conditioning unit in our room barely blew out cold air, plus no hot water in the showers. Not sure if the beds were ridden with pests, but I woke up one morning with really big insect bites on my legs. The first time I ate at their restaurant, they served me bloody (like really raw) chicken inasal. What a disappointment. At least the hotel staff was friendly enough. Made the stay a little bearable.
- antonio (6/5): - Was very relaxing
