No communication back from location. As a platinum Marriott member, I would avoid this hotel and stay elsewhere. Additionally the hotel is very very overpriced. Recommendation : there are much better Marriott hotels in the area, I’d avoid this one.

From Mike w/ valet, check-in, & housekeeping on our floor, everyone was so welcoming and made us feel very special. The room was spotless, and we had a great time in the restaurant. Being able to take the shuttle to/from Shea's 71o Theatre was an added bonus too! The Buffalo Westin has a lot to be proud off.

Complimentary tea in the lobby was a lovely touch, and the fitness center is excellent — spacious, clean, and well-equipped. Overall, it’s a perfect place to relax after exploring the city. Highly recommended for both families and couples.

Shout out to Nahadi who checked us in, upgraded us to a jr. suite as bonvoy members and gave us great area restaurant recommendations. Our jr. suite was great with two large screen TVs, a large bathroom with a big walk in shower and plenty of storage area for our personal items. Also real bar soap - almost non existent these days. Bedroom was large and comfortable. Plenty of storage area. AC worked great. Always a plus for us! Nice area for restaurants and walking around Buffalo to see the great architecture.

• Lauren (6/5): - I called and made sure there would be late night food options as I was on an 1100 mile trip with 2 dogs. Requested 2 turkey sand at 11:30 pm uoon arrival. Was told it would take 1.5 hours but still I agreed. Called 45 min later to tell me they ran out of food- i called back and asked if they had anything- i ordered what they said they had available abd even flatbread and fries arrived an hour later. It was inedible, really. No apology, no discount - the staff there varies greatly in customer service. I have stayed there 8 times a year for 10 years on my way to Vermont. This hotel can cost $615 nightly when busy. I can get better customer service at a much cheaper place. Bye bye Marriott. How hard would it have been to refund $58. Never asked for one in the oast- geez

• 341danicak (10/5): Memorable check-in, classy room and nice restaurant - Very kind gentlemen checked my family in and offered me and my husband a glass of bubbly, and then invited my two kids to a complimentary bottle of water from The gift shop. Then one of the men entered the shop and gave both my kids a cute stuffed buffalo for free! That gesture made our trip! What a kind gesture. Very nice rooms too!
• Excursion672629 (8/5): Probably my favorite Buffalo area hotel - This is my favorite place to stay in the area. The rooms are not the most modern, but not bad and in great condition with little signs of wear, the friendliness and cleanliness you'd expect from a Westin, amazing gym, convenient parking. The restaurant on site could be better (especially for the price) and I wish they had some sort of lounge for folks with Marriott status.

• raymondandpatriciac (6/5): Needs Improvement on Customer Service - On May 18, 2025 we checked in at The Westin Buffalo for my wife’s belated birthday celebration. The hotel is nice in a location that I have mixed impressions. Check in was okay. I was only one in line waiting for my turn when a gentleman came from the back office asked me if I was checking in, so I approached him. Only to be told that the his co-worker will be assisting me shortly. We came back to the hotel that night after going around the city and had not have dinner yet. So I ordered room service and the person on the phone was not professional. He could not answer one or two questions of mine and was second guessing. He even admitted that he was just reading off the menu when I was asking about the specials. Shortly after, I had issues with the television wherein it was just looping through with the Westin commercial and couldn’t watch TV or stream, so I called for assistance. Was told someone would be coming to assist. After about 20-25 minutes later, there was a knock on our door and it was our room service order. I requested that the food not taken out of the food warmer but was told by the gentleman that he has to get it and placed all the food on the table. He then told me that he was also the one to assist with the television issue. He left to bring down the food warmer and shortly came back armed with a master remote and a 6 page instruction manual. After so many unsuccessful attempts in reprogramming, he called someone for advice and was told that he had to reset the box. Left the room to get the key to unlock the box but couldn’t locate it. Finally after about 3 or 4 times coming back and forth he found the key and was able to reset the box. During all the waiting, we suggested that we were open to a room move. But he seemed not empowered to decide and said he has to check with his manager and it might be a possibility. All in all, it took almost an hour to reset the box and get the television working. That meant our food were all cold and my family having to wait for so long. The gentleman did not offer any sort of apology but rather an excuse that “these things sometimes take long to fix”. The only thing that entertained us was with CHIP. The robot they used to deliver hotel amenities requested to be delivered to our room. I will not be returning to this hotel again.

• ChadandJen (10/5): Believe the hype--the Westin Buffalo exceeds your expectations!!! - Buffalo became known as the “City of Good Neighbors” in the mid-20th Century, due to the small-town feel and the warm welcome experienced by visitors to the city. We became fascinated by the City of Buffalo about 5 years ago when we started to visit, and once we discovered the hospitality and warmth of the Westin Buffalo, we became Buffalo fans for life. As repeat visitors to this hotel, we were excited to embrace the hotel's amenities, fun bar environment, and incredible location to some of our favorite restaurants and bars in the city. Tom, the GM, leads an incredible team here, as exhibited by two of his most senior and seasoned team members: Sarah and Ryan. They both went above and beyond to make our stay extra special, with hospitality touches that rival the most luxurious brands in the Bonvoy portfolio. These extra efforts to make their guests feel like family are what sets the Westin Buffalo apart from any of their counterparts within the Bonvoy family--both domestic and internationally. My husband and I marveled multiple times that the Westin Buffalo might just be our favorite hotel world-wide because of how welcome their team makes you feel--you are a part of their extended family. None of the hotel team knew some of the personal things that we had recently encountered prior to our visit, in particular some health concerns which meant two major surgeries over the next few months. A relaxing and stress-free stay was needed and necessary more than ever, and, again, their entire team delivered without even being asked or informed about our personal situation. We could not be more grateful and it is actions and generous gestures like these that tell us the Westin Buffalo LIVES these values, and doesn't have to be asked or told. In today's day and age, it is such a welcome and appreciated treat to come across generous and beautiful human beings. Additional team members we'd love to recognize: Lauren from the Front Desk, Olivia who brought us our cocktails, and bartender Drew from Patina. We loved everyone we met, even the check-in texts and communication we received from the Westin team via the app and my mobile number during our stay. We didn't capture everyone's names, but I assure you each interaction was stellar. While this is a much belated review, it is FILLED with IMMENSE GRATITUDE and LOVE. <3 To top it all off, the Bills won their home game during our stay, so we had a blast hanging out with fellow Bills fans at Patina and across the city! So much went wrong that we decided to give up for the day and find a hotel. Luckily we picked the Westin. We were welcomed warmly, given vouchers to help defray the cost of dinner and enjoyed their "heavenly beds"--- the best beds and linens in the hotel business. In short, it was, after a spectacularly long and frustrating day, like falling into clover. A GREAT experience.

The dining options are equally impressive, with a variety of delicious meals available at the on-site restaurant. Overall, The Westin Buffalo exceeded all my expectations. With its excellent service, luxurious amenities, and prime location, it's a fantastic choice for anyone visiting downtown Buffalo. I can't wait to return!

The staff was friendly and attentive, and the basic king room was absolutely huge. Grateful that they’re welcoming to dogs and had a bed ready. Food options are limited in the area, so takeout might sometimes be the best option if you’re hungry.

The only thing we didn't love was the lack of coffee available in the lobby in the mornings, and the restaurant is closed during part of normal brunch hours on the weekend from 10 until 11:30, which is a bit odd. However, parking was easy and there were plenty of great nearby restaurants.

• ChadandJen (10/5): Amazing hospitality at The Westin Buffalo for a very special weekend! - This much belated review is one filled with immense thanks and gratitude for the incredible hospitality team at the Westin Buffalo. This was our second time visiting the City of Buffalo, and our first time staying at the Westin Buffalo. Our 10 year wedding Anniversary was in October, and we were visiting friends for the Buffalo Bills game AND getting in some much needed quality time/R&R together after a hectic and stressful couple of months. Ryan, their Front Office Supervisor, and Tom, their GM, went out of their way to ensure our visit was special and it went off without a hitch. There were a lot of complexities around our visit due to the limited number of flights from our home city and my husband's work schedule while we were there. Both Ryan and Tom ensured that our stay was seamless, comfortable, and incredibly special. We just adored the entire Westin team while we were there--from Cody at Check-in, to Taylor from the Front Desk who we met while at a restaurant in Buffalo, to Olivia from the Front Desk, to Jairo Torres & Bruneilda (part of the fabulous Housekeeping team), to Yoga/Yogi who helped us with Check-out--we felt loved, appreciated, and so well taken care of our entire time there. What a testament to Tom and Ryan's leadership and care for curating such a special team--you can just feel the unity, camaraderie and pride that each of the Westin family has for each other and for their beautiful property. If you are mobile and enjoy to walk, your rental car is in great hands with the Westin valet and it's quite fun to explore the city by foot--with a wide variety of restaurants and bars within stumbling distance. We did take rideshares as it rained for part of our visit, but otherwise had a great time poking around different neighborhood corners and stopping in for a drink here and an app there. There is something really special about the City of Buffalo, Buffalo Bills fans, and the entire hospitality industry in the city. We've really fallen in love with the city and its fans, and, of course, our now extended family at the Westin Buffalo. Sidenote--there was actually a wedding taking place the weekend of our visit, and though the lobby was busy and the team was juggling a few things, we never felt like the Westin hospitality team skipped a beat. (Also--pro tip--when you do call down for your car to be pulled around, specify if you want it in the covered area "valet circle" area or out in the uncovered front on the main street of the hotel--due to weather, this is a huge benefit!). A huge THANK YOU to the entire Westin Buffalo team!!! We are so looking forward to returning to Buffalo again soon and having the opportunity to stay at your beautiful property and visit our newfound extended family! This specific visit and this specific time in our lives (and the much needed respite) meant so much more than you will ever know. Wishing you all a beautiful summer ahead and know that we are sending big hugs, love, and gratitude every day!!!

• CLAR1TY (10/5): Great comfy stay! - We were on a road trip and decided to stay the night midway through the drive so we picked the Westin as it was dog friendly. Everyone was very nice whom we met. Everything went well. The parking is either valet or a public garage around the corner from the hotel so like a few mins walk. There was a trash can in front which we appreciated for our doggy but otherwise the street was bare of it but surprisingly very clean. Not much grass in downtown but we figured it out. Loved how comfortable our stay was, we grab to-go breakfast at the breakfast place downstairs called Jake’s cafe. A breakfast sandwich will run you $9 bare minimum but it was tasty and quick! We checked out the only “bar” that was dog friendly about a 9 min walk/ 4 min drive away called “fatty beer” since we got in super late on a Sunday! We would love to reign if we do another road trip that passes by here again! I can’t remember our check in agents name.. but it might be Fara since she checked in on us! She worked the evening of 5/5 and checked us in around 9:30pm. She was lovely.

• AmandaMP477 (10/5): Exceptional service! - We visited family in Buffalo for the Easter weekend and chose The Westin mostly because of the good reviews and for the Bonvoy points. We were simply blown away by the friendly and professional service we recevied at every moment of our stay. We had a slight issue with our remote control working and within minutes someone was at our room to fix it. The major highlight for our kids was the robotic butler Chip who made a surprise delivery of buffalo stuffed animals shortly after we checked in. Our kids were so excited--what a lovely way to welcome children! Later, we requested extra towels, and within minutes these were delivered by "Chip" as well, which was not only amusing, but also extremely convenient. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful and made you feel like a valued guest. The room itself was well-appointed and clean with very comfortable beds. I would highly recommend The Westin to anyone traveling to Buffalo!
• andreapZ6041QJ (2/5): A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! - Hello, I just returned from a weekend away in Buffalo at the Westin. The hotel was beautiful, clean and the staff were mostly friendly and attentive. However the mother daughter weekend that was supposed to be relaxing and fun was ruined by staying at this hotel. When we entered we were told we had to “clear the lobby” because a large group was coming in. So immediately after checking in we had to either go to our room or stand inside their restaurant until this “large group” was checked in. I received a phone call and due to the music in the restaurant I had to take the phone call outside so I could hear. To my surprise when I tried to come back inside the hotel I wasn’t allowed because this “large group” that turned out to be a hockey team we were seeing that weekend had arrived. So there I was standing outside freezing in downtown Buffalo by myself. Is this how Marriot treats paying customers? One takes president over another? To the point where I have to wait outside? This was beyond ridiculous and quite frankly terrible first impression. I tried to keep it to myself because I did not want to ruin the weekend for my mom and I. Later that night some friends joined us and we were looking forward to watching a baseball game at the lounge in the lobby. Upon check in the girl told us it was open from 5-9. But it was a ghost town. Nobody was working and apparently the tv did not work. So we quietly sat in the common area by the fire place talking with our friends. The large group was returning again and we were told we cannot address them. Which was fine. However their security was extremely rude and kept walking by us shaking his head at us as if we were doing something wrong by sitting in the lobby. (Another mother/daughter had complained about this as well to the manager). So again, we felt like second class citizens staying here. After we went back to our room to watch the blue jays game with friends because there was literally nothing to do at this hotel in the lobby. The next morning we went down to the little cafe and got coffee. (Little cafe was great). Then as we were waiting for our friends another mother and daughter joined us to have coffee. We were sitting there talking when the manager came over and said “we have a large group coming in and we need to clear the lobby”. So once again we had to either go back to our rooms or stand in a restaurant until they go back to their rooms. We said to the manager we will not move and would like to finish our coffee and we are in the corner by the main door on Delaware and will not interrupt the group. Well that yet again wasn’t good enough and we had to retreat back to our rooms like children that didn’t behave. I have never been treated like that ever during a hotel stay. When I booked this hotel for myself and my mother there was nothing written on the reservation about large groups and having to be sent back to my room whenever they decided to come and go. This was not a relaxing weekend. And after paying $400cdn for a room I’m even more upset. And $200 for mediocre food in their restaurant. When we left we asked to speak to a manager who literally just fed us lines from a typical HR background. He was zero help and stated that this large group had all of this written in their contract. But we were paying customers too and didn’t deserve to be treated this way. As a Marriot Bonvoy member this is especially disturbing and will make me reconsider my stays with them in the future.
