- Kimberly (10/5): - I loved the location of this property! The buildings themselves have so much potential. The insides are very outdated and run down. The coffee maker was burnt and stuck to the warming plate and the sheets had drains. BUT you can’t beat the location and super friendly staff. The pool was super clean and warm with a nice outdoor shower. I would definitely come back here if they lowered the price for current condition of the buildings. And I would bring my own sheets. You can’t beat the location right on the beach and it’s far enough away from the party zones so it’s quiet. The guards they have there are really good as well.
- BRIAN (8/5): - Couldn't ask to be closer to the beeach. Directly in front of you! Very nice and clean pool. All types of excursions are available on the beach in front of you. Water taxis can take you to other places down the beach, to the West End. Restaurants, gift shops, and store only yards away on the beach. The place is understaffed but the current staff was excellent. Property and rooms could use some updating but didn't come here to sit in the room. Beds were comfortable and ac ice cold. Keep in mind your on an island, water and electricity can be unpredictable. Sewer systems can be prone to issues but expected.

- Gracy (2/5): - Honest Review After an 8-Night Stay I stayed at this place for 8 nights, and unfortunately, my experience was not entirely pleasant. While the property has potential, there are several areas that need serious improvement in order to provide guests with a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Negative points: • Housekeeping was only done 3 times during an 8-night stay, which I found insufficient. • They only provided one toilet paper roll for the entire stay, and I had to request more. • The outdoor hallways constantly smelled like sewage, which was very unpleasant. • The kitchen was dirty when we arrived. I had to buy dish soap and clean it myself. The coffee maker was dirty, had old coffee residue, and was rusty. • The floor was dirty from the moment we checked in. • The bed was extremely hard, and instead of resting, my husband and I woke up with back pain every single morning. • The typical breakfast was just okay, but inconsistent — some days we got 3 tortillas, other days only 2. Most of the staff were rude, except for one pregnant waitress, who was always kind and attentive. • The dirt road leading to the property was in terrible condition, full of potholes so big they damaged our rental car. • We found a cockroach after the first night. • The TV was unplugged when we arrived and mounted high on the wall. - Tanya Michelle (8/5): - I had my own beachfront cabin with amazing ocean/beach view. Cabin was large, spacious, and had everything I needed. Things like faucets and cutlery were older, but everything was clean and working. A/C was very good. If you want a room that is cleaned daily this probably isn’t the place for you. But the staff were always very fast to help. You are located over the restaurant, so loud music from morning to evening. But everything shut down by 8pm and quiet at that end of West Bay. Security 24/7. Excellent location.

The hotel was very low key which is what we love, very friendly staff at reception cleaning kitchen and restaurant and maintenance and security - low key like they didnt have change for a beer so told us just come back to pay later, allowed to have your own drinks in the pool just not glass so totally fair and the patio and sunsets are amazingggg

Pool was under construction and we were a group with kids; we clearly booked for pool. When we decided to NOT stay no refund or wavier was offered! We go there at night, no hallway lighting, my dad almost fell in a huge pot hole!!!! The keys to our so called room didn’t even open our cabin. Over all a stressful and horrible experience! PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!
- DOUGLAS T (4/5): - Dogs barking constantly around the clock, day and night. Sounded like a dog fight. One of the other guests said the owners son keeps a lot of dogs, and a guest got bit the year before by one of these dogs. Since the windows are “sealed” with duct tape, the sound really travels into the room all day and all night. The room was very clean, but a little rustic. Lots of chipped tile, and only 2 overhead bulbs were working so was kinda dark. At checkin, the desk clerk insisted we pay over a thousand dollars in order to get a key. We showed them our Expedia fully paid receipt. The clerk pretended not so speak English. We finally argued long enough to get the key. Room was very large. Beds were very comfortable. Alex at the restaurant was fantastic. Lose the dogs and figure out a better checkin (never had this experience through Expedia before!) and this would have been one of our favorite places to stay ever.
- Cory (4/5): Great people and location but run down - Let me start by saying, the people that work there are amazing. When we arrived at 6pm the office was closed but a maintenance guy had a key for us in an envelope. The hot water worked 2 out of 7 days. The toilet wouldn't flush unless you poured water in the tank while you were flushing. You only get 1 key and you better not lose it. The location is great with an incredible view. The island is more expensive than I expected. $20 for a hamburger, $30 for cerviche , $120 for a bottle of Don Julio Blonco US at the liqour store. $30 in the states. I would say this was closer to camping then being in a resort. I could have gone to Turks and Cacos for less.
- Romane (10/5): Amazing - I stayed there alone for a week, and it was awesome. I had a whole cabin for myself with 2 beds and everything you need to cook. The free breakfast is really good, and the personnel is very nice. There is also 24/24 security. The beach is right here, and the pool is a nice place to tan and enjoy a drink when there are too many people on the beach. Really a good experience !

- claudia (6/5): - We stayed here for 5 nights we rented cabin 1 panoramic view which offers a perfect view of the beautiful west bay beach and the swimming pool conveniently located right in front of the unit. I enjoyed the property grounds on the back of our unit there is mango and coconut trees and in the morning you can hear the macaws flying near by we could also spot a few guatusas in the area nearby. Front desk manager is nice and friendly they do their best to solve your issues or needs. Housekeeping lady is nice honest and very helpful. I would like to mention you need to let them know if you need your cabin cleaned. Cabins are old but water and a/c works fine. Loud music from George’s restaurant and bar next door ends around 9-10. Water sewer smell and roaches is common in old properties around the beach on islands so keep that in mind as well. This property is located in front of the best beach and has the lower rates compared with other similar properties stay here if that’s your priority if you want luxury stay at the Mayan or similar.

- Andrey (4/5): - The property was old, dirty, and poorly maintained. The outside area was not clean, with broken path tiles, lots of trash, and sewer odors. There was no power or water for a day, and there was no immediate communication or resolution provided. However, the Expedia team was incredibly helpful and provided a couple of options. I would not choose to stay there again and would not recommend it to anyone. It's worth paying a bit more to stay somewhere else.

Reception person only there from 8 to 4 where you were able to access the water bottle or mention issues. Attentive to service requests but 4 out the 7 days we had workers in room fixing things. Dogs in the back barking alot. Construction also going on around our building. Breakfast only had 3 options and not always 3 available. Restaurant not always open on time.

The room is above a restaurant and very noise all day and nite. During breakfast they didn’t have me tickets for breakfast and the lady refuse to give us food even though I had the key for the room to show her. I left day earlier bc they never clean the room they put stuff to kill the crock roach. 3 days we werw there they never came to clean and we had enough of it and left. Felt like we were in a tropical paradise at home! Always made sure our room was clean, breakfast ready and even our laundry done! Don’t think twice, stay here there are lots of things to do. Great wifi, very cold AC and amazing showers! 10/10.

Woke up to cockroaches in our bed (3 different times), our toilet never flushed, shower water was always cold, sheets on bed were filthy, had no wash cloths on property - to name a few issues. The structure of the property looked like it was falling apart. Cracks and rebar seen throughout. The restaurant has a 3 lobster tails for $17 deal one night. Worst lobster we have ever had. The beef fajitas were chewy and tasted awful - inedible. Never ate there again. Total disappointment.

They just said tomorrow we will look at it TOMORROW. The shower door would not close. They did not clean the room until asked. There was a hair dryer stuck to the bathroom wall but no outlet to use it. The bathroom door was so hard to close and open. The WiFi was not working the entire time we were there.

- Lee (8/5): - We took a chance on this property even though the reviews we read were not great. We were very pleased with cabin where we stayed. It was spacious and clean and bright. We expected a small bar fridge and it was actually almost the size of an apartment fridge. The daily included breakfast was simple but tasty and we had 3 choices: omelette, typical breakfast or pancakes with eggs and sausage. You could have orange juice or coffee. We had a nice covered deck with a partial ocean view even though our booking stated garden view so that was a nice surprise. We were in cabin 1. The security guard was super friendly and the beach staff and front desk staff were also very friendly. This property is a short walk to a small grocery story and many restaurants. The only negative was that the water in the shower ranged from cool to almost luke warm. We spent 4 nights and other than the temperature of the tap and shower water we were very pleased with the value for the money.
- Ann-Marie (6/5): - We had our own cabin which was spacious for our family of 3. It was a great location right near the pool and the hotel is right on the beach. The beds were too soft for us and hurt our backs. The room had 2 double beds and they were too small for us. We would have preferred queen or king. There is no hot water for showering. We ended up showering by the pool a couple times because we were at least in the sun then. There was a kitchen in the room but it was not very well stocked and the dishes that were there were rusty and dirty. My husband put his hand on the glass block on the top of the shower area and it broke off. The air conditioning broke but they fixed it right away. On site handy man was very quick. The office is not always open but when the staff was there they were friendly and very helpful.

We had to talk to an employee of a nearby hotel to get in contact with the manager and about an hour later someone from another hotel came and was able to give us a room key. Then the manager texted me letting me know that we had to move rooms the next day. The next room we stayed in had two beds, but only one of those beds had a blanket. We went down to the main office multiple times and different times of day to ask for another blanket and there was never anyone there to help. The soap dispenser in the shower was either empty or didn't work. Will not be staying here again.

Upon arrival we learned the reception desk is rarely staffed, and no one there upon afternoon arrival. We were able to check in with the help of a very nice taxi guy and a security guard that tracked a guy down on the beach. Ten or fifteen minutes later he shows up and we're in. But then we found out there is no maid service or fresh towels/linens, TP, cleaning, garbage pick up, or anything else you may need. We purchased towels and essentials from a store nearby. We saw someone on the property two times over a 5 day period. Most days the office is closed and locked and no one on the property. The pool, if you can call it that, is disgustingly dirty. On day one we had no water as the pump apparently broke, then day 3 sewage blew up thru the shower drain, day 5 no hot water, and finally a really large sewage spill, blowing under presure everywhere in shower ....and we were on the top floor. There was no one on the property to report this to. I contacted Orbitz to notify of situation. The said they would call the business. After much of the day, they too were unable to contact, so we left the property as it was unlivable. Later in the day Orbitz said they finally got ahold of someone, but by that time we had left to find another room somewhere. None of what we experienced was noted on the Orbitz posting.
- Corey (4/5): - The location of this property is fine, but the price and condition of this property is out of line. This is more like a one and a half star property. Everything from a dingy white comforter to the shotty repair work to the dirty kitchen gives it the deserved low rating.

- Dixie (2/5): - The bathroom smelled bad, the beds aren’t comfortable the whole building is very old.

- Lisa (6/5): - We were excited to be there. It was difficult as the staff speaks no English. That is hard where there were all English speaking people there. We had issues with the water-no cold for 3 days and no hot for the next 2 days. It was nice to be right on the beach though. I am not sure I would go there again. We had our most help from Eddie WG does not even work for the hotel. He made the time there good.
- Patrick (2/5): - Some of the buildings are under renovation but this was not disclosed prior to booking. The place is a dump. furniture, bedding, the grounds , the pool, amenities and service are all bad. This is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Right by the beach. West Bay is a great beach. Children also enjoyed pool. Had a microwave, fridge, stove, dishes, nice deck for relaxing and eating breakfast, lunch and dinner, close to George's Place, a great Honduran restaurant. We had a wonderful time and would live to come back.

- Lorelei (2/5): Bait and switch - seeking refund due to experience - This was a bait and switch- booked ay in every hotels- said they had no rooms so took me to their other site- which was seedy and unsafe. Filthy rooms, BLOOD on the pillow case, tattoo parlor attached to the hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel is very close to the beach. It has a swimming pool and rooms are quiete comfy. In the web site it said that check in starts at 8 am. When I arrived there at 9 am, my room was not ready. They said check in at the reception starts at 8 am but the room check in is at 3 pm. I think the property should specify and change it on their website. Because I chose it for specific reason of early check in, but was very disappointed when it didn’t happen.
- Ty R. (4/5): Not proactive. Lazy, poor communication - No notification about scheduled power outages, let tp run out, toilet tank flush mechanism broke so I left the lid off and a piece of the broken stuff completely visible and the “maid” simply put the lid back on the tank (backwards I might add). So I fixed it myself. Fridge was not plugged in, etc. it was clean but way overpriced.
