- Bry (9/5): Overall okay - A good location, on the beach, the restaurant team and meals are just perfect top notch meals Difficult locks may need to change them, pillows had a funky smell maybe used so much or just not clean past the pillow covers maybe should be replaced as well, wifi on the rooms would’ve been great
- maria (9/5): -
- Katti Galmart (9/5): Nice place - The hotel was so beautiful, especially at the pool. Cute cabins, friendly staff.
I loved the breakfast!! The airco in the room was great but we could not use it for the bathroom since the floor was open, which caused a hot bathroom.
There was an extra bed for a child which made the room smaller, this wasn't necessary.

- Attapon (10/5): Everything is great!!! - Great location and AC
Comfy bed and everything you need is inside the bungalow. None

- Jacek (6/5): No 5 star resort - Ok Walking to rooms by Sand Beach is very uncomfortable and very impractical. Rooms need some renovation to be 5 star. No WI Fi in the rooms but the website talks about WI Fi every way.
- carlo (9/5): -
- MYUNGLIM (10/5): Friendly staff and excellent food. - Perhaps the best hotel in Morondava? Friendly staff and excellent food.
- Alessandro (9/5): -
- Guglielmo (9/5): Very nice hotel - Very nice hotel. Considering the location (cabans are direcrly on the beach) superb cleanliness inside and no insect whatsoever inside. Cabanas are spacious and toilets up to western standards.
Food is very decent and they provide everything cooked (vegetables as well) if you don't want risk getting sick.
Staff is very caring and they organize tours for you (decently priced). They should remove Zazamalala park excursion: animals there are not wild and not sure it is worth doing.
Much better doing the Kirindy park and Baobab Alley: amazing!
- Ralf (8/5): Nice hotel at Morondava beach - Nice location at the beach. Spacious bungalows at the beach. Very friendly staff. Dinner was included and the food was good. Breakfast could provide more options.
- Wupya (8/5): Great hotel!! but could benefit from renovations in certain areas - Great property and staff. The rooms are large and airy, it’s a great base location to explore other areas. The breakfast is a bit lacking and the food portions are quite small and sometimes not a lot of variety. Mattresses are old and hard, should be upgraded
- Corinne (6/5): -
- Astrob (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and beautiful environment. The staff were very helpful. none.
- Adil (7/5): Good -
- Angela (8/5): - Nice hotel
- Lloyd (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Natalia (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome hotel! Territory, pools, access to the beach, food - all is excellent! We will come back!
- Mohammed (3/5): Poor - nothing I contacted the hotel via Booking and asked them about the price of my transfer from the hotel to Baobab Road. They said that the price is 145 euros. When I told them that this amount is very expensive, they did not respond to my message. After I arrived at the hotel, I found that the official amount was less than half of this amount. I also asked them about the price of my transfer from the airport to the hotel, but they did not respond to my message until I arrived. The room was not clean. There were ants, cockroaches and lizards. The pillows are white on the outside, but very dirty brown on the inside. The mosquito net is dirty and needs cleaning. The internet does not reach the rooms, only in the lobby. The breakfast is very bad and not clean. It is in an exposed area and there are insects everywhere. I could not eat anything. The beach is far away and not suitable for swimming. I found a small snake between the beach and the hotel. In short, if your health is important to you, do not go there.
- Lynn (10/5): Exceptional - It would have been nice to have wifi in our rooms as I work part time.
- Emeric (8/5): - Palissandre is a wonderful property with 32 charming bungalows lining the coast. From your bungalow's porch, you can enjoy beautiful sunsets, walk the beach, or enjoy one of the 2 pools. We arrived in early January when the temperatures were quite hot. Our A/C unit worked, but could not maintain a pleasurable temperature, unfortunately. The staff is friendly and helpful, although we did feel at times we had to wait a fairly long time to receive food and drink after ordering, which might have been a symptom of the off-season we were visiting during.
- Ryohei (6/5): - Towels were terrible smell.
There are many mosquitoes even inside mosquito net in one night. After asked a staff to get a mosquito coil, it became comfortable
- Krzysztof (10/5): Palissandre, c'est magnifique! - From the moment of pick-up at he airport until the drop-off back there I have been given a VIP treatment. A welcome drink by the pool made my check-in seamless, unnoticeable. The bungalow, situated at the feet of palm-tree clad dune provided cosy and comfortable shelter. Oh, the owner and the entire personnel kept on making sure my stay was care-free. Even Santa popped in at the right time. Absolutely recommended for gourmands and afficionadoes of strolls along the sea shore.
- Varvara (10/5): The hotel is amazing! We felt truly taken care of and spent our Christmas there in such a cozy and wonderful atmosphere. - The location, service, food, facilities and staff. Everything was excellent! The AC could be a bit more powerful
- Claire (9/5): Great kitchen. Lovely meals. Attentive staff. Best place to stay in Morondava. - Great kitchen. Lovely meals. Attentive staff.
- Weichen (8/5): The best resort in the region, no question -
- Kestutis (10/5): The best hotel in area. - Room, restaurant. No wifi in the room.
- Jonna (10/5): Rekommenderas varmt - Ett mycket fint hotell i Morondava. God frukost.
- Valentina (10/5): Best place in Morondava - Food beyond excellence! - Food at Palissandre was INSANE, like Michellin star restaurant!
The room was super nice, on the beach, with a cozy patio.
Super cool area around the swimming pool to enjoy sun and sunset.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nothing, everything was perfect.
Personale molto attento.
- Ali (10/5): The number one place to stay in - Everything was just amazing and truly gem Nothing but me leaving this place
- Colleen (8/5): Very comfortable stay and would highly recommend the property. - Right on the beach front. Very easy to organise day trips via the reception without pre- booking. The wifi doesn’t work in the rooms which can be a good or bad thing depending on why you are visiting. We found that we really had to be sitting close to reception to get good enough wifi to send emails and catch up on some admin/ work tasks. Also, the hot water in the rooms takes forever to become hot - like 10 mins of running the water before it starts turning warm and then hot. We didn’t realise this at first but what I would suggest is turning the water on and letting it run for like 10 mins, do something in the meantime and then by the time you check it again it will be good to get in. Just told expect to jump into a nice hot shower straight away ☺️
- Chungsung (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel offered an exquisite fine dining experience every evening, which made us look forward to dinner each day. I‘ve lost $200 cashes, which was put in my tiny bags in the room. So I recommend that everyone should keep their money in the safety box.
- Nida (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fangshih (9/5): Perfect - Everything is perfect. Breakfast is simple but very delicious. Dinner is very good. The room to the restaurant or lobby have to pass the sands, shoes are filled with sands.
- maher (8/5): - Nice place to chill out…
- Stewart (6/5): Resort-style beach hotel if you like to just hang near the pool. - Overpriced and a bit tired. Beach bungalows were a looong walk from pool and restaurant.
- Woon (7/5): Good - Everything okay Food pricey, currency exchange not worth as compare others hotel
- Vladimir (8/5): Pleasant surprise - A luxury resort in the middle of nowhere, close to the baobab alley. The hotel is the best place to stay for the Alley. wi fi in rooms
- Alicia (10/5): Beautiful resort with delicious food - Beautiful property, immaculately clean, kind staff, and loved that breakfast and dinner was included in the room. Lunch and dinner were amazing. Nothing
- Rob (9/5): Superb -
- Marta (10/5): Very charming bungalows - I loved everything about this hotel. The bed, the food and mainly the staff.
It is a place to return for sure. Absolutely nothing
- Nicolas (10/5): Outstanding .. couldn’t get a better location to explore Baobab Avenue - Spectacular tropical setting by the sea
Amazing sunsets
Beautiful beach huts The breakfast variety was not great
There was not much choice at dinner
- Tarek (9/5): Superb -
- Jan (10/5): Extraordinary top experiennce ! - Jean-Louis and his team really take care of their customers : top-service, great kitchen, perfect accomodation (very comfortable spacious bungalows, 2 big pools with towels on the seats and a nice cocktailbar), friendly staff. I took the half pension formula so I could choose lunch (from an exquisite menucard) or dinner. We arrived after midnight and a fine dinner was still offered. Quiet place very near to the city (15´ walk or 5' ride with the bicycle taxi) which offers the live music bar from Jean le Rasta or the fresh icecream at ´Chez Patricia´. Very recommended, correct price for the offered top accomodation, catering and services ! The hotel has also a very qualitive sisterhotel in the capital Tana, must certainly try it! Any negative comment!
- Timothy (8/5): - The place is great
- Mika (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sherry (10/5): Beach bungalow paradise! - What a great place to spend my birthday/New Year's eve! It's a lovely property with bungalows right on the beach. While we did have working A/C, the mosquito nets on the bed were still appreciated, since the windows don't have screens (or glass - they're covered with wood shutters). What else can I say? Staff was lovely, the food was INCREDIBLE and the New Year's party was a lot of fun. We didn't have hot water, but with temperatures in the 90s, we didn't miss it that much!
- Mridu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nasir (10/5): It was great. - Property was, mostly, clean and quiet. That there aren't pathways to the rooms to avoid getting sand everywhere and they need more stuff to do at the hotel like games or activities.
- Ying (10/5): Good experience in this hotel - Good location and good room.
- Sreedhar (5/5): Did not meet expectations. In the hot weather the air conditioning in the room is not sufficient. - Good property on the beach. Great spa Poor air conditioning
- Shawn (10/5): Great location and pool in lovely views! - The location was great, the food even better, and the pool was perfect. The staff was also friendly and helpful (especially Tina!). The AC could have been m but the room was lovely, well appointed and spacious. Don't count on the wifi, as it's pretty slow, but that has more to do with the area than the location.
- Georgi (10/5): strongly recommended - beautiful great service, great food, breathtaking view of pool area, very relaxing everything was fine
- Megan (1/5): Bad - The receptionist in this hotel are worst of the kind
- Megan (1/5): worst receptionist - The receptionist at this hotel in Madagascar is not very accommodating. I booked this trip through booking.com and was asked to provide a credit card for the hotel to charge for the stay. However, the receptionist did not bother to check if there was a card on file and instead demanded cash upfront before allowing us to enter the room. As foreigners, we didn’t have a way to pay with cash as we typically use mobile payment options like Mvola, Orange, or Airtel. We asked if we could check-in while we figured out how to send the funds, but the receptionist refused. So, we had to go to the hotel next door to get cash through their orange money, where the lady was much more helpful. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel and staying at Vezo Beach, as it is a much better property.
- Lilia (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (9/5): Superb - Stunning location, beautiful bungalows. The front desk staff was very friendly, spoke good English, and were very helpful. This hotel also accepts credit cards, which is great!!
- Lilia (8/5): A great place for vacation, less for business travels - The place is great, the staff at the reception too. The food also was good, No wifi in the bungalowas and they are kind of far but that was inconvenient for us mostly because we couldn't stay long.
- Mariam (10/5): Beautiful Villas in Morondava - Beautiful, modern and clean hotel in Morondava. The pools are quite big and the rooms are very beautiful designed and decorated. They gave us a room without sea view, although we booked it with sea view. After contacting the front staff, our room was immediately changed. Service is also excellent.
- Belinda (8/5): Very good - Luxurious bungalow with all amenities (bathroom really nice!) Staff were super helpful and arranged take-away breakfast for us since we had to leave early to see the sunrise at the avenue des baobabs. Beautiful pool area. Some bungalows are quite a long walk from the main reception/pool area and they are not directly on the beach. Food was average (at least for vegetarian options).
- Charlize (7/5): I’m sure a longer stay would have been really nice. - Staff were very friendly and attentive The sea view room we booked through Booking.com was not available when we arrived so we were given a room much further away from the ocean
- Rui-mendes (10/5): Exceptional -
- Els (10/5): Exceptional - nice restaurant.
nice swimming pool.
amazing rooms, very beautiful wooden bathroom.
biljart- pool table.
kind staff.
feels like you are in a little paradise.
beach volley. wifi
- Radoslav (7/5): Good - Very ugly beach
- Sotaro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (7/5): Good - The food, the pools, the staff, the serenity. The minibar not being replenished daily and then being charged double for items that we didn't consume. I wrote an email to them complaining of this and the embarrassment of being accosted in our taxi as we left to pay for items we hadn't consumed but I got no response from them, and certainly no refund. There was no coffee, tea or milk supplied in rooms either which is incredible given the high price of the room.
- Marianna (10/5): Relaxing - Beautiful resort with lovely swimming pools and cute cabins by the beach - hands down best property in the city. The staff was absolutely wonderful, we are both vegan and they went out of their way to accommodate, the chef and restaurant manager came up with different menus every day that were very tasty! And the other staff from the property manager to front desk, to cleaning, to massage were lovely and we felt attended and cared for. Would definitely recommend! As other reviews have noted, the water line is quite far away, but that’s a geographic nature of this area in part exasperated by receding water/climate change.
- Ioana (10/5): Exceptional - Great hotel, amazing and kind staff, always with a smile and eager to help, very good food, very beautiful surroundings with two pools and many sun chairs. The cleaning ladies were very careful in spraying for mosquitos and putting the nets down, we slept very good. Wifi works pretty good but if you need to some work on laptop just grab data sim card from Tana. I had airtel and orange.
- Katherine (8/5): Overall, we were happy with our stay! - It was nice that the breakfast started so early since we have little ones. The bathroom was beautiful and the water pressure and temperature was great. Staff was friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed the desserts! The mattress could have been better and there weren’t any vegetarian options on the menu. The cleaning products they use smells a bit like gasoline so I would change that!
- Bixi (9/5): Superb -
- Kevin (10/5): Beach front hotel probably the best in Morondava. - Great hotel literally on the beach, with modern and new beach huts for rooms. Service was fantastic, for a small fee they arranged airport transfers and the a fine restaurant. The food was very good, the kitchen staff and hotel staff very accommodating also. A great place to just sit on the beach, or by one of two pools, or the outside restaurant and have an ice cold Three Horses beer. I was here for a beach vacation, but on my way to Tsingy, so the sand in my shoes when I walked to and from my room was unexpected. Bring sandals.
- Dimitri (10/5): Nice hotel to relax a day or two - Very nice bungalows, good breakfast, view on the ocean at sunset unbeatable
- Verified traveler (2/5): Better stayelsewhere - Bad smell in tje bathroom, AC barely works (one can only feel it when directly under), bathroom door requires an athletic effort to open. Poor room design: the wardrobe is in the toilet. The food in the restaurant is not good buy the service is correct.
- AS (10/5): - Beautiful property & pools, lovely attentive staff that we’re happy to help us with any question we had
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Enjoyed our stay of 2 nights. Be patient for hot water in shower —it took about 5 minutes the first day—but all good after that. Beautiful, safe and all staff was friendly
- Verified traveler (10/5): - La sérénité de l'endroit.
L'accueil et le service
Le repas du soir
- Kevin (10/5): Morondava stay at palissandre Cote ouest - This is the best hotel in the area and convenient for the Avenue of Baobabs. Staff were very helpful and polite. The food was good and rooms comfortable. Would recommend.
- Paul (10/5): - Lovely location in a city with few options. The staff were friendly and helpful.
- Kuang (10/5): - The hotel is well situated, and the cabin is good. The service is good. It is the lock of the room that is not easy to use.
- Hope (10/5): - Nice hotel close to beach. Pretty much best hotel in Morondava.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Clean & nice room, needs better wifi & a walkway - The room was very nice and clean. The hot water is a little tricky and it takes about 10 minutes of running the water nonstop before it becomes warm. Nice pool and poolside area. The wifi might as well not exist it was so bad at the bar/reception where it should be working the best. Trip planning or simply checking ones email is almost impossible Also, there is no pathway from the bungalows to reception, so expect a lot of sand in your shoes.
