• Erin (10/5): - This was by far my favorite stay during my time in Sri Lanka. We wished we had spent a whole week here. The property is so lush with a lovely pool area and great views of the beach. The food was delicious & was a nice spot to watch surfers. The room was both incredibly clean and smelled lovely.Its a bit outside of the busier town area, though still within easy driving distance and there is lots within walking distance also. The inlet provided a great beach swimming area, as well. If you are traveling with friends/a group, the shower area does not have a door or curtain. This wasn’t a huge deal as we could sit by the pool or on the small patio for our room.

• Steve (9/5): A small boutique accommodation great for access to the surf with a relaxed vibe with great food and staff. - Lovely clean property right on oceans edge. Good breakfast and dinner choices. Not too much to dislike. Just a shame the beach access was a bit dirty and needs some TLC.

On a pu y observer des écureuils, des magnifiques oiseaux et des singes en profitant du bar. Le petit dej est vraiment délicieux, notamment les cafés qui sont les meilleurs que nous ayons bu au srilanka L’hôtel donne sur une charmante petite plage. Même si celle-ci ne leur appartient pas, peut-être que l’accès direct à la plage pourrait être un peu travaillé

Staff was very helpful & accomodating. Everything was clean and comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was really good, it‘s not always a given in Sri Lanka. It is one of the more expensive accomodations.

Very comfortable spot because you had access to the beach, without it being too hot. Staff were really helpful and accommodating for our request. Lastly, they had amazing coffee. Didnt leave the hotel for 3 full days :)

• Joséphine (9/5): relaxing! - it’s right at the beach and really beautifull. lots of care in the place and the staff is super friendly and helpful. breakfast & food in general is top! the main gate stays open and a lot of outside guests walk though it to go to the beach (even tho there is a road right next to it), so depending on which villa, it’s not very private. also the music played at the restaurant was often too loud and really inadequate. felt sometimes being in a club at 8am! it takes away the charm & relaxing vibe of being close to nature!

La piscine est petite avec peu de transats. L’hôtel donne directement sur une plage relativement petite également.

For those who love peace and quiet, this is a true gem of Sri Lanka. - Located right on the beach, this hotel boasts the perfect spot for surfing. The restaurant serves incredible food, delicious coffee, and amazing cocktails—my favorite being the passion fruit mojito! Every member of the staff, from restaurant and housekeeping to the front desk, was absolutely fantastic: welcoming, efficient, and friendly. The rooms are spacious with great privacy. Overall, it truly felt like a home away from home. This is a true gem in Tangalle that’s definitely worth a visit The fan on our balcony still hasn’t been fixed, which was quite an inconvenience during our stay. Without a fan in the tropics, it really gets quite hot.

• Alice (10/5): Perfect guesthouse on a lovely small beach - We loved everything about this place. Lovely spacious rooms, great restaurant and breakfasts, on a really nice beach that was calm enough for the kids to play in the water. We even saw a turtle just swimming in the bay. The staff were friendly and chill and efficient. And it’s next to a few beach bars to watch the sunset / palm trees. We thought we would go exploring other beaches in Tangalle but in the end we mostly stayed on this one. We really loved Aga Surf! We liked everything!

• Tea (10/5): - Our stay at Aga Surf was truly wonderful and incredibly comfortable. The staff were amazing – such a lovely group of young people who made us feel completely at home from the very first day. Their warmth and care made our stay so easy and enjoyable that we could easily imagine staying much longer. The restaurant and food were great (although it would be nice to see even more traditional local dishes on the menu), and the music was absolutely fantastic – it created such a great vibe. We especially loved spending the hottest hours of the day working and relaxing in the bar area, which is very pleasant and has a nice view of the beach. The beach is right in front of the hotel, which is very convenient, although it’s a bit of a pity that the direct access and the view from the hotel side are not more nicely arranged – the staff kindly explained that this is not in their control, but it does feel a little surprising compared to how lovely everything else is. However, just a 5-minute walk away there is a stunning beach with turquoise water, white sand, peace and quiet, and charming little beach cafés. On the way there, you’ll also find a couple of good restaurants, which was a lovely bonus. Overall, Aga Surf is a beautiful, cozy place with great energy, amazing people, and a very relaxed atmosphere – I truly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, good vibes, and a home-like feeling by the ocean. The room itself was beautifully decorated and very comfortable – the bed and pillows were excellent and we slept really well. One small thing that felt a bit unusual for a tropical destination was that the windows could not be opened, and there was no fan or mosquito net for the bed. We personally prefer sleeping with fresh air rather than closed windows and air conditioning, so this stood out a little, although everything else in the room was lovely.

El personal es muy amable y profesional y te hacen sentir muy cómodo en todo momento. La habitación era preciosa y muy cómoda y espaciosa. Tenía una zona de estar en el exterior y zona para secar la ropa. Está en una playa muy tranquila, donde te puedes bañar o practicar algún deporte. También tiene una piscina y la zona del restaurante es muy agradable, puedes cenar, comer o simplemente tomarte un coctel. El desayuno es muy bueno y variado... es un pequeño paraíso en la playa. no puedo decir nada malo de este lugar, nos encantó la experiencia!!! la pena fue tener que irnos, realmente nos sentimos muy cómodos allí.
• Ben (9/5): A beautiful unassuming place by the beach with great staff - We have a wonderful 5 night stay here over Christmas. It was just what we required. Quiet, relaxed and unassuming. Good beach for both swimming and surfing. The food both at breakfast and dinner were very good. There are plenty of nice family run restaurants within walking distance if you want some variety and a change of scene. The staff are kind and attentive and a credit to the establishment. • Janina (9/5): Wunderschöner Blick und tolles Essen - Der Blick vom Hotel auf das Meer ist wunderschön. Jedes der 5 Hotelzimmer ist in einem kleinen Haus und hat eine eigene kleine Terrasse. Das Essen im Restaurant ist sehr gut. Zimmerpreis und Restaurantpreise sind recht hoch. Der Strand am Hotel ist nichts Besonderes, aber gut zum Schnorcheln und Schwimmen. Dafür ist der Silent Beach nur wenige Gehminuten entfernt.

The coffee was some of the best we had in Sri Lanka The room open plan with no door between the shower and bedroom so might be awkward depending on who you’re travelling with!
• Gabriela (10/5): Beautiful top place in Tangalle!! - We cannot be happier with our stay here. We love it so much from day 1 that we booked an extra night! The rooms were spotless, cleaned every morning. The food was so so delicious. And the place in general is beautiful. The beach is just there and it’s quite close also to silent besch. We came to Tangalle thinking that we will visit several beaches and restaurants (as we normally do) but we ended up spending most of our stay here. We just couldn’t get enough of how well we were treated. Thank you to all the team for our awesome stay!

• Fiona (10/5): Aga Surf View is a wonderful private oasis, tucked away with everything you need to fully unwind and enjoy the beautiful - Aga Surf View was a beautiful, peaceful retreat after cycling through the country for 9 days. The rooms were a private luxurious oasis set in a garden setting with a gorgeous pool and walk, straight out to the ocean. The staff are amazing, so helpful and professional. The added bonus is a fantastic restaurant in the property. A perfect end to our stay in Sri Lanka.

The staff were kind, friendly and very helpful throughout the stay. Because it is a cafe open to others the rooms weren't too private but it really wasn't a problem for us. The proximity to the beach was lovely and the beach felt very quiet and relaxing. An absolutely wonderful place to stay.

Фоточки для инстаграмма точно получатся 😉 Уютные большие номера и кровать! Завтрак - не буфет. Можно выбрать из нескольких позиций на человека. Не совсем удобный пляж. Они говорят что он муниципальный, поэтому им даже нельзя убрать куски бетона и мусора при подходе к нему. Немного портит впечатление. Сама бухта очень небольшая. Вода спокойная доя плавания. Хоть в названии есть слово Surf, но как такового серфа там нет. Стоят пару досок. Постоянных инструкторов в отеле нет. Нужно вызывать заранее и они везут на другой пляж.

• Mélanie (7/5): Bel hôtel mais trop cher pour le service reçu - Belle chambre, propre et bien équipé. Tout le nécessaire était présent dans la chambre. La proximité avec la plage et le scooter mis à disposition par l’hôtel pour 3000 roupies par jour. Les serveurs qui travaillent très fort pour offrir un service de qualité. Mais tjrs les deux mêmes serveurs qui font leur possible du matin au soir. Beaucoup trop cher pour ce que c’est! Le wifi - catastrophique. Prétexter des enjeux d’électricité après les inondations alors que même les petites chambres d’hôtes dans le pays ont été capables de nous offrir un wifi correct. Hôtel de “passage”. Beaucoup de monde qui ne reside pas à l’hôtel mais qui viennent prendre un verre/ café - voir le lieu. Ça fait un service plus lent.

Рядом спокойная бухта с небольшим рифовым спотом для серфинга. Но основная особенность - возможность заниматься снорклингом. А это редкое явление для Шри-Ланки. Много рыб и черепах. Но на этом будто бы и все. Из минусов, на мой взгляд стоимость проживания завышена. Завтраки стандартные. Но я так и не поняла, чем обуславливается количество тостов - 2 или 4. Персонал не такой дружелюбный, как в целом ланкийцы. Ощущение, будто ты им должен. Территория отеля проходная. Гости кафе проходят мимо Вас, когда Вы решили полежать на шезлонге у бассейна. А гостей много. Словосочетание 'проходной двор' точно описывает мои ощущения. Еще один минус - рядлм много вилл. Ночью может быть шумно, если кто-то устроит вечеринку. А такое было. И самое важное для меня - нет ланкийского вайба, нет шума океана, хотя отель и расположен в бухте. (Тк это наш 14 раз на Шри-Ланке, то выбирали скорее по месту (бухте). Резюме: неплохой отель для 2-3 ночей. Не более. Для тех, кто едет в первый раз на Шри, не рекомендовала бы.

• Katharina (10/5): perfect location for some quiet days at the beach - quiet and safe environment, directly at a nice bay (Unakuruwa beach) - in contrast to the maybe more picturesque Silent beach, which is a few minutes walking distance, you can do surfing, swimming, and snorkelling there (we were in November and even saw sea turtles regularly), delicious food and drinks (cocktails) in the restaurant (all day open), everything looked like in the photos, perfect to just hang out and enjoy the sea nothing

• elizabeth (8/5): would stay again. worth the price. for those seasoned on the staff, I was grateful. - meals were exceptional. design and decor gorgeous. view stunning. overall staff were nice. new manager, Manoj wasnt from hospitality field, so he was kinda rude, unhelpful and kurt when things needed handling. their card machine wasnt accepting my card, and the manager placed blame on my card. my bank said it was fine. his attitude wasnt great. he stressed me out as he insisted we sort it out at 8pm while i was on my way to bed and i lost sleep over it. and woke up extra early to comm w my bank in the US. i took care of it in the morning but he literally said "not my problem" which is kinda rude when i offered to tuk to atm when their card machine didnt work for me. i also asked the same manager, if he could get someone to net the pool but he said they were busy, so i swam with like thirty dead flies, and lots of plant debris. Thankfully, the nice custodian netted in the morning when i mentioned to cleaning lady directly. shower only had hot water once. my room was next to kitchen so noisy dishes. had to keep my door closed to room. "crisis doesnt build character, it reveals it." its easy to smile at customers when things are peachy keen but its the managers job, esp at hotel to be professional, remain poised and help solve issues and be supportive not place blame and responsibility on guests. especially when they are asking for assistance.

• Amanda (9/5): Fantastic boutique hotel with amazing food - This is an excellent boutique hotel. The rooms are lovely and the staff very helpful and friendly. The surf out the front is great but the standout for us was the food. It really is an exceptional restaurant with incredible food. We enjoyed many meals and all were delicious and of a very high standard. The quality of the fresh produce and the excellent chef make eating here perfect!! The best garlic chill prawns I have ever tasted! The eggs Benedict was delicious too!! We stayed in many high end hotels on this trip yet this was the best food by far! Well done Aga Surfview! All good

• Emma (10/5): - This is an absolute amazing spot to base yourself for Tangalle area, the rooms are beautiful, very clean and comfortable, the restaurant and cafe outstanding, plus the beach and surf just on your door step. The rooms and facilities have been put together with wonderful details and furniture that make this place feel like home. The pool was also a bonus, plus if you like your coffee this is the best I’ve found so far in Sri Lanka. Not a thing, this really is the most amazing place.

All the staff were so lovely - big mention for Manoj who was incredibly helpful when our airline was messing us about with our baggage - thank you Manoj ! Another big mention for the chef ( sorry didn’t get your name ) - the food along with the coffee was definitely the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka - just amazing. Pool area was beautifully designed and the beach is good for both gentle swimming on the left of the bay and surfing on the right. Will definitely be coming back
• Therese (10/5): A piece of paradise - Aga Surf View is an amazing little place hidden away at Unakuruwa surf beach, not far from Tangalle. You will find this wonderful place under the palm trees next to the beach.The staff welcomes you and takes care of all their guests in the best possible way. Warm, kind and incredible helpfull. They organized a cake for us for a special birthday celebration too. The breakfast view is one of a kind. And together with the Aga Coffee, the best start of the day. The iced latte is also something you have to try, one of the best you will experience when travelling in Sri Lanka. Aga Surf View feels like Bali 20 years ago, a little piece of paradise. I hope both Aga Surf View and Unakuruwa beach stays like this in many years to come. Janadhi and Manoj can also help you book Yohan and Win Win Tours for both airport pickup and guided tour to Udawalawe National Park and other great places. They are also highly recommended. You can also visit both Silent beach and Kudawella beach while staying here. Kudawella is great for beginner surf lessons. We had five incredible days here, and hope to come back one day soon. Would love bacon next time for breakfast and not sausages. But the scrambled eggs are amazing on their own too. :)
• Julia (9/5): - Super schöne Unterkunft direkt am Meer! Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich und geräumig und haben eine kleine Terrasse. Von der Bar aus hat man einen tollen Blick aufs Meer. Liegt etwas außerhalb zwischen dem Stadtkern von tangelle und hiriketyia, weshalb man auf jeden Fall auf Transportmittel angewiesen ist, was für uns aber kein Problem war. Das Frühstück könnte ein bisschen optimiert werden

• Doug (10/5): Wonderful place to stay - Very comfortable room, lots of hang out space with ocean views and breeze. Staff was excellent. We were welcomed into the kitchen to watch a master cook Sri Lankan delights. While the beach in front is not the best, there is a wonderful beach a 5 minute walk up the road. Tranquil and peaceful, we enjoyed every day.
