Guest Reviews
- Guest (8/5): -
- Elizabeth (8/5): - The rooms were very well furnished and comfortable. The water was very hot! Was disappointed that breakfast was not available at the hotel - since there were no other cafes or restaurants nearby (closest was a 15 minute walk). And with the photo of the dining room, I assumed incorrectly that some sort of food offering would be available to guests.
Punto. Muchas cosas.
Router en cajón: no wifi en habitación.
Almohadas muy incómodas
Solo 1 toalla x persona
Mando tele no está
Lavabo sin privacidad. Solo un cristal de separación
AC no hay
No ofreció poner coche en parking. Durmió en la calle. En este caso importa poco. Pero podría haberlo ofrecido...
Ducha no traga bien.

- DUFFOUR (9/5): -
- Mario (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arkady (8/5): Very good -
- Gouthami (9/5): It was a great place, beautiful views all around. Alvaro was very helpful. -
- Marsha (6/5): OK room but no personal contact with a single soul. - The location was nice, close to sintra but secluded. To have absolutely no contact with the host except via messaging felt weird. It felt like I was communicating with an AI host. The place was like a big cavernous farmhouse where I was given a code to get in in a room number, but the kitchen and living area was always empty, and we were not invited to use any of the living spaces other than our room. And the floor coverings, i.e. carpets in our room did not feel clean. It just felt kind of off to not have any personal contact whatsoever.
- Emilie (9/5): Beautiful stay in a historical residence - We loved the Junior suite which was very spacious and well appointed. The enormous bed was very comfortable and all the four windows all had views of the forest. The bathroom was very luxurious and had beautiful tiles on the wall depicting a scene. It included 3 wash basins and a deep bath, which I really enjoyed .
Being able to walk around the grand lounge and dining room felt special and I could imagine a little of the history of the Quinta.
The WI-FI was fine - speed was good! Given the isolated location of the property, a small fridge in the suite would have been super helpful.
- James (10/5): Incredibly quiet and peaceful oasis 10 minutes from the hustle and bustle of sintra. - This property is a wonderful place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Sintra. The roads in and around Sintra are CRAZY. The host (Al) was SUPER accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. We used Uber and Bolt to move around - it's not realistic to walk to anywhere. The ONE thing we wish is that breakfast of some kind could have been available at the property. Even with that, we would go back for sure.
- Daria (1/5): Bad - I do not recommend booking this place — you might end up sleeping outside.
We spent 1.5 hours traveling to this property to arrive by 18:00, as planned. It is located deep in the forest, in a remote village. When we arrived, there was no one there. We waited for 30 minutes, called several times, even knocked on the house windows — but no response.
Eventually, we had to return to the city with all our luggage and start looking for another hotel in the evening. Only after that did the host message me saying that there were no available rooms and that it was a mistake — despite the fact that my reservation had been confirmed and no one contacted me during the day to warn me.
This experience was truly awful — it ruined part of my vacation, cost me time and extra money for transport and accommodation. Very disappointing and stressful. I do not recommend it.
- Christian (6/5): Beautiful but isolated - Nice and spacious . Tastefully furnished.
Maria was lovely and brought us cake and strawberries, gave great recommendations on places to eat outside of the area we were staying. Beautiful views We got upgraded to a room we didn't choose.
The new room had no kettle, coffee machine, TV and other facilities that were mentioned with the room we booked. Nice view of garden but no access to it.
Weird outdated non functional shower massager. Couldn't opt for breakfast the day before. An absence of staff.
- Carlos (9/5): Nice house and great host - Great host, nice country side location, good room Lack of AC. Too hot at night
- Alison (9/5): Perfect stay for a romantic getaway or just to disconnect and rest. - Old charm property, very calm and perfect for a quiet restful stay. Location was not great, not easily accessed without a car.
- Ruben (10/5): Charming farmhouse minutes from Montserrat Palace and Sintra - Beautiful old farmhouse decorated with antique furniture and art. Very large and comfortable room, bed and bathroom. Expansive, well maintained gardens were fun to explore. The host, Alvaro, greeted and introduced us to the Quinta. New windows provided excellent soundproofing and ensured a good night's sleep. We were even treated to some delicious cake in the morning by our hostess. The shower works well; however, some may have trouble stepping in and out as it is a bit high off the ground, and the shower head holder is low and needs repair. The bathroom is otherwise terrific. In fact, there's one sink in the shower area and two more in the washroom.
- Matt (9/5): An old farmhouse with a few large bedrooms with private baths a 20-minute walk from downtown Sintra. - This is an old farm manor house in a rural area. We liked the location as we could leave our car and walk a path (very rough and steep at the beginning) that took us "in the back way" to Sintra and from there to the paths up to Pena Palace. The owners also gave us a great tip on a dining spot on a nearby beach.
- Stevie (9/5): Very relaxing and comfortable! - What a beautiful country setting, the room was huge and extremely comfortable, with easy access to the town of Sintra using Uber unfortunately my wife wasn't well during our short stay but we will return to sample more of the delights of this location. N/A
- Liam (10/5): Exceptional - This is such a beautiful place and grounds
- Mario (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (9/5): It’s a fabulous property, very affordable a short distance from Sintra center. Highly recommend! - Very quiet, lovely to be surrounded by nature and animals. Big rooms, very comfortable. Gorgeous gardens. Incredibly peaceful. Beautiful big house. Ana was very helpful in providing food recommendations in town. Small nits. There wasn’t enough shower soap. We don’t get a coffee or tea refresh the second day we stayed. I wish there had been a suitcase stand so we didn’t have to put everything on the floor. It was a bit difficult checking in as we got there early and we couldn’t figure out how to enter the house.
- Kris (9/5): Delightful stay in a lovely old chalet - Large rooms were great! Would really enjoy knowing the history behind the house. The dogs barking at night were very annoying and kept all of us awake.
- Haley (2/5): Very poor -
- Hanson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zaneta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gabrielle (7/5): Good -
- Fadi (3/5): Poor - We had a large room. It is a scenic area. The hostess was friendly. The hotel description said free breakfast. It was not even available for purchase. Since this hotel is 20 minutes away from the historical center, we lost at least one hour trying to get breakfast each day. The facilities are very old and our shower had only a hand piece at knee level. There was no hand soap or shampoo. There is a dog that keeps barking all night which ruined our sleep.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful apartment in an old quinta. Magical atmosphere - there were azulejos in the room! Everything was clean and the host very nice. A tea kettle and a coffee maker. And Netflix! The old town is either 40 mins walk, mostly up the hill, or 7 mins by car (cheap Uber). The toilet is in the same room, hidden from sight but not from sound. So I don't recommend if you're a couple on your first romantic weekend together. But otherwise, it just belongs to the beautiful room made with a lot of stone and wood.
- Manginga (7/5): Lovely hotel - Beautiful views from the room of the mountain. Very comfortable and clean I didn't know I had to ask for breakfast services the day before to have it on the day.
- Anna (8/5): Luxury stay in the quiet area of Sintra - Very traditional, classy decor, lovely host, great service. Slight issues with the internet and hence why the TV but understandable as the property is in the middle of the woods :)
- Michael (7/5): Very pleasant stay outside Sintra in an old Villa. - Nice old Villa with Charme. Large rooms.
Fast availability of staff via phone and email, very helpful. No refridgerator in Room.
Staff barely present at Quinta (but - see pro‘s - good availability via Email)
- Steve (7/5): Good - It was a great setting old farmhouse that was a nice change from all the people, tragic and noises in town. Plus, it was close enough to town to do the tourist stuff There was no air-conditioning, which was fine because you could leave the window open, and it cooled off nicely at night, but the down size was that there was a dog that continued to back a lot of the time. But I did love hearing the roster in the mornings.
- Jurgita (9/5): Good place - Place was spacious, clean, nice decor, had water and coffee in the room, self check in but owners around if needed. Sleeping with open windows and breeze was nice. Did not have fridge and was definitely more than 20 min walk to town with steep hills ( close to 40 min). Also, roosters and dogs were loud early in the morning so forget about sleeping in:)
- Pikoulas (10/5): An exquisite Quinta close to Sintra. - The owners personal service was lovely, the ambience and the size of the rooms and waking up to the farm animals was just fabulous. It is close enough to Sintra for an active couple to make a short uphill walk via a small Camino and not be caught up in the busyness of Sintra centre. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night. Not applicable
- Harpreet (10/5): Lovely property with amazing hosts - Maria and Anna were amazing hosts, very hospitable, friendly and warm. The property was amazing, lounge beautifully decorated likewise with bedroom. Clean and surrounding grounds were lovely. Lovely views from every window and a peaceful setting. Location overall was to our liking! Location might be an issue for some people but ride services are well priced and easy to get to and fro from town in case you don't have a car
- Carolina (7/5): Nice stay - Location, staff, property The soundproof description is not accurate, bed could be more comfortable
- Yvonne (10/5): Excellent value for money and ideal accommodation for a family. - Excellent room and good facilities. Good decor and interior. Clean room , felt like home away from home.
Our host was excellent, very responsive to our needs and questions. The hotel feels somewhat remote but so is most places in Sintra because of the hills and vegetation, It was however very serene and picturesque. We liked everything about the Hotel
- Matthew (10/5): Magic in Sintra - We stayed three nights in this beautiful hotel. We were greeted warmly by the entire staff, made to feel very much at home, and awakened to an amazing breakfast, each day, just for us! The grounds and the gardens made for a magical stay would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Sintra. :)
- Patrick (8/5): Very good -
- Lori (5/5): Passable -
- Maureen (10/5): Even though we arrive late and had to leave early for the airport we enjoyed every minute of this wonderful villa! - Beautiful room and wonderful host.
- Yevgeniy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Raquel (8/5): Very good -
- Lucy (9/5): A beautiful place to stay. Highly recommend. - A beautiful room in a peaceful location. The room itself was very clean. The cleaner hadn't checked all cupboards or drawers though so there was a little bit of rubbish in sink cupboard and wardrobe drawer. This didn't bother us though. Like I said, the room and bathroom were very clean.
- Munique (7/5): Nice place but could be so much better if they offered room service (or at least the breakfast) - Very nice property, pretty view. Even if we didn’t see them a lot the two people who I believe work only part time at the property were really nice. There is little support, there is no reception, no breakfast, no room service, at times we felt like we were alone in the property. The fact that the breakfast was not available was a big issue since the property is 20 min from the village, you see the pictures of the breakfast on booking but then it is not available. I also wish I was offered a tour of the property we were basically just shown to our room without any further information. The bedroom was comfy but there is no door for the bathroom which makes a very romantic place a bit uncomfortable.
- Morais (7/5): Desapointing - The all house was clean and beautiful The reservation said that it had breakfast but we didn't have none.
We were late for check out and try to ask for more time but they didn't allow us even to stay on the all waiting for our ride...they put as out with no manner.
- Carl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nili (10/5): Exceptional - beautiful property, nice hosts, great access to a restaurant just down the block.
- Samantha (10/5): Beautiful room and incredible breakfast - Had a lovely stay in a beautiful room with the most incredible breakfast.
- Antonio (10/5): - Muito boa. Sítio muito tranquilo e bonito. Proprietários muito simpáticos e atenciosos. Quarto muito aconchegante e bem preparado. Pequeno almoço bom.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - What a gorgeous property! Rooms were beautiful. Owner was lovely. Highly recommend this place.
- Beth (10/5): - This beautiful home was warm and cozy and Maria was as sweet as can be. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable with excellent recommendations. The room was comfortable (although no AC) and quaint and made you feel like you were back in time. It was easy to find (even in the dark when we arrived) and off the beaten path but an easy drive to Sintra center.
- Frank (10/5): A Truly Wonderful Place to Stay - We had an excellent time and we feel very fortunate to have discovered this wonderful place to stay!.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful boutique hotel in a secluded area of Sintra. A great romantic getaway.
- Gareth (10/5): Charming Manor House Above Expectations - This B&B is beautiful, elegantly decorated with antiques and, overall, very cozy. It definitely felt like a home away from home with a handful of guest rooms offering a warm welcome and charming ambiance. The owners and staff were very kind and helpful.
The deluxe room was spacious, very clean, well appointed with a very large and comfy bed with quality linens, lovely furnishings, closet, tea kettle and espresso machine. The attention to detail was very impressive and making guests feel like home was definitely a priority. The bathroom had a good shower with great water pressure and a separate vanity area.
The breakfast was amazing!...fresh, delicious and generous. The quality and choice was even better than many 4 star hotels I have stayed in. And freshly squeezed orange juice was a bonus.
The boutique hotel is a beautiful historic manor house which has been lovingly looked after. It is down a small country lane and only a few minutes drive to Sintra. Its location also offers easy access to other sights. It was a great alternative to staying in historic Sintra with free parking and a wonderful breakfast. There are restaurants nearby by car or one just a few steps from the B&B which offered delicious food and reasonable prices. This charming B&B with lovely hosts was definitely a highlight during our trip to Portugal and we would highly recommend it. It is a great retreat for couples.
- Jason (10/5): - Amazing hotel, room, grounds, bathroom, breakfast, and staff. Could not improve upon the experience at all.
- Mimi (10/5): One of the most charming places I have ever stayed - My son and I were on a trip to Portugal and we were lucky enough to have found this superb inn!
Ana and her mother, Maria, were so welcoming and helpful. They upgraded us to a suite that was beautifully decorated with gorgeous views of the property and the park. Sintra is a magical town and this hotel could be in a movie set!
Do yourself a favor and stay here if you have the opportunity and say hi to Ana and Maria for me!
Retornarei!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hard to find (several possible addresses on GPS). But great place. Please add GPS coordinates.
- Julia (8/5): atmospheric hotel - All in all, it was a good choice quality and pricewise. Located in an old venerable residence in the lovely countryside, the hotel looked well-kept, while retaining the old-fashioned style and the distinctive atmosphere, with an inevitable smell of mould. The whole building was stylistically consistent, with rustic creaky floors and ornate sturdy furniture. The room was very spacious and clean, with decent retro style furnishings and two windows overlooking the green hills but it had no air condition. It was however never hot in the room, and it was lovely to be there with the window open. The bathroom was peculiar, with a retro wash basin in the entry. There was no bathtub, and the shower corner sometimes went clogged up, although it was not a big issue. There was complimentary tea/coffee in the room. The free wi-fi functioned well.
The staff was all in all very friendly and helpful. They spoke English well and appeared professional and service-minded at all times, giving attention to all requests, providing local tips and personal explanations. They made sure their guests felt at home. It was however difficult to reach them by phone when they were not present (calls were not answered). The breakfast was served using lavish crockery at a long table in a big dining room. Although the breakfast variety was not very wide, still everything was tasty, especially the freshly pressed juices. They also served egg dishes and pancakes by order.
- Mary (10/5): Beautiful stately accommodation. - We were welcomed by Ana the manager and she ensured that our stay was comfortable and provided a great deal of advice and assistance in finding our way around Sintra and making sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. Our suite was beautiful and the house is lovely.
- Ricardo L (10/5): Perfect getaway - Friendly service, beautiful house and rooms, quiet night, lovely garden and surrounding area, sumptuous breakfast. I wish we'd stayed longer!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Historic B&B - This is a B&B in an historic home. The home is beautiful and the location is away from the bustle of Sintra. The immediate area offers little in the way of services. The B&B can be difficult to find. Use the instructions provided by the owner and don't rely on GPS which will lead you down a dead end road. The rooms are decorated with antiques and quite spacious. The breakfast is was very good with some things cooked to order. The bed was only fair and the room was a bit musty.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Muito bonito!
