Owner was super lovely and caring, gave great recommendations! Room was beautiful, lovely view of the ocean. Loved that there were many seating spots to have food/chill with the ocean right there! The service from the staff was also fantastic No kettle in the room or facilities for us to make our own tea and coffee. It was also very hard to find shade outside of our room in the afternoon. The bed was very hard too. The phone when we arrived did not work and it was confusing how to get down to the resort.
- Kitti (8/5): The view definitely worth it - The view from our room was marvellous, the staff and the breakfast was very good, it has basically private beach :) we stayed for 1 night and it was very relaxing but wouldn’t stay here for too long The route to the hotel is not very nice and the electricity was off for a few hours and there is nothing nearby so prepare to order food there or via app :) Definitely not 4 star hotel that is why 8/10

Prijskwaliteit verhouding was zeer slecht. Enkel voor surfers is het een voordeel dat strand aan je voeten is. Het hotel was ook zeker niet proper. Personeel is vriendelijk en helpen met zware koffers op de trappen.

Лестница от дороги к отелю действительно крутая. Но по другому тут никак. Но сотрудники за небольшую плату несут ваши чемоданы прямо на голове, так что отель доступен всем.

- Quinta (7/5): The views!!!! - The view!!! Its insane and i would go there just again for the view. Staff were very hospitable and friendly. Cute little bar aswell. Good location and good internet access. Its a little basic in the rooms and beds are slightly uncomfortable. However, id much prefer to stay here then a clinical hotel room. Its authentic and the view is just something else! There are a lot of stairs so wouldnt reccomend for someone who cannot use stairs.

Можно полежать под солнышком под звук воды, посмотреть на закат в комфорте. Точно нужно ехать максимум на выходные, потому что делать там нечего кроме как загорать и встречать закат, развлечений нет, а выбор еды очень скудный (горячее нужно заказывать за 3 часа) Спуск и подход к отелю не облагорожен, будто на заброшку по началу проникаешь. Точно нужно ехать без чемодана - очень тяжело будет его поднимать и спускать. Цена конечно сильно завышена, все из-за вида. Не уверена, что комфортно оставаться больше чем на две ночи и тем более планировать весь отпуск в этом месте. Есть маленький клочок песка и заход в воду, но он пригоден только для серферов

- Elouise (10/5): Gorgeous tucked away spot - Such a lovely tucked away cosy spot. We saw the most amazing sunsets from here. Our room was large and comfortable, with amazing views. We loved sitting on the terrace, reading books and watching the different shades of turquoise. The room and bathroom were simple but absolutely good enough. The bed was comfy. No mosquitos! And was amazing to sleep with the sound of the waves. Also really enjoyed the many small nooks created around the hotel.. different benches, seated areas. The staff was super nice and accommodating. Nothing! Totally worth the 90 steps down and honestly you get used to them after day 1. Takes care of your gym goals for the day ;)

From the manager to the staff, they were always available to help and provide the best quality service to us. Secondly, the property, it is as shown in the pictures and gorgeous would be an understatement. The beach is a few steps down and the views from the room are of the never ending waters and waves. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

- Julie (7/5): Une vue imprenable - En regardant les précédents commentaires qui datent de plusieurs mois, nous sommes totalement d'accord. À savoir, l'accès est effectivement difficile, mais cela fait le charme de l'hôtel. Maintenant, pour des personnes peu sportives ou handicapées, cela me paraît compliqué. L'hôtel est idéalement situé grâce à sa vue à flanc de falaise et ses chambres qui ont chacune une vue sur mer de toute beauté. Les différents endroits pour boire un verre ou manger sont tous très sympas et certains atypiques. Maintenant, on paie le cadre. Ayant fait 5 hôtels 4 étoiles à Bali, celui-ci ne propose aucune prestation, par exemple des massages ou dîners romantiques, ou même le service blanchisserie. Le personnel effectivement peu aimable. Cela ne vaut pas le service d un 4 étoiles Je ne vais pas faire les "français râleurs " mais nous avons dû les 3/4 du temps aller nous même passer commande pour les repas à la réception, personne venait à notre rencontre à table. Et pourtant nous sommes de grand consommateur ! La carte restaurant peu variée.

- Lana (5/5): I wouldn't have stay in this hotel if I new about mobile coverage issue and non-functional AC - The proximity of the ocean, attentive staff The was no warning that the hotel has no regular mobile coverage and guests must rely on the wi-fi, which happened to be broken when I checked in. Once the wi-fi was restored - the signal was very weak. The breakfast was mediocre, and there is no pool for hot days. The AC in the room was barely cooling it even when set on the minimum temperature, and the room temperature was hot and uncomfortable at all times and particularly during the night, making it difficult to sleep. The bed had no blanket, presumably due to staff's knowledge that it would be impossible to sleep with the blanket anyways given how hot it was all the time.

Veldig eksotisk. Apekattfamilien på 7 som besøkte oss mens vi nøt morgenkaffen på terrassen toppet det hele. Imponerende bæring av kofferter ned og opp til overnattingsstedet. Adkomsten er krevende. Mange og høye trappetrinn må påregnes, men det er prisen for å få en helt spesiell opplevelse.

- yuqi (8/5): - 入住的时候是雨季，暴雨，有专门的人帮我们把三个大箱子扛下悬崖。酒店的晚餐这些收费很便宜，性价比超高，味道也不错。沟通很畅通，回复很及时，态度非常好。我很满意酒店的独特地理位置，几乎和安纳塔拉共享一片海滩一个视野。但是更靠近大海。浪稍微大一点直接打到窗户，这么奇特的体验此生很少，记忆深刻。房间装修极简，但是审美却在线，很像圣托里尼。 闷热，开空调睡觉会吹到头疼，关了特别热。厕所会有反臭，床单有一点污渍。

The view directly over the ocean was breathtaking and truly unforgettable – waking up to the sound and sight of the sea was a dream. The beach is very close, which makes the location even more perfect. The hotel was spotless and beautifully maintained, everything felt fresh and fragrant. The food in the hotel restaurant was excellent – delicious, freshly prepared, and surprisingly affordable. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique and peaceful stay with an incredible ocean view. We would love to come back one day.

- Daniel (4/5): Disappointing overall - a beautiful location, but far too expensive for the standard and experience - The location and the view are truly stunning and unique. Unfortunately, that was about the only aspect that lived up to expectations - and those expectations were not high to begin with. We really wanted to love our stay at Rock n Reef, but unfortunately, it fell short in several important areas. The road down to the hotel is about what you would expect for this type of location - steep and challenging. We only traveled with backpacks, which made it manageable for us, but we genuinely felt sorry for guests who had to carry large suitcases up and down. While the hotel does offer assistance, the first thing they encourage upon arrival is that it you give 50,000 IDR (3$). Given the hotel’s remote location and relatively high price point, this service should absolutely be included. The Wi-Fi was extremely slow and unreliable, constantly cutting in and out. For a property charging these rates, stable internet should be a basic amenity. The hotel overall feels more like a hostel than a hotel. The “reception” is located in the common area where guests sunbathe and swim. It also doubles as a staff lounge and kitchen - everything combined into one shared space. While the location itself is beautiful, the standard of the facilities is very basic. That wouldn’t necessarily be a problem on its own, but when the property also feels outdated and unclean, it simply doesn’t meet expectations. Cleanliness in the room was not up to standard. There were yellow stains on the bed, marks and dirt on the walls, and the glasses in the room had a strange smell. These details made the stay feel uncomfortable. The staff were perfectly okay - neither particularly friendly nor unfriendly - but nothing stood out in terms of service. Overall, we unfortunately cannot say that Rock n Reef is worth the price. We paid around $140 per night in February. For comparison, we paid $120 per night for a five-star luxury hotel with impeccable standards and service in Ubud. The price here is far too high for what you actually receive. We truly wanted to like this place, but in the end, it was difficult. Sadly, we will not be returning.

Pasaportumuz bile kontrol edilmeden direkt odaya geçtik güvenli değil. Bahsedilen merdivenler aşırı zorlu yağmur çamurda inip çıkması tehlikeli. 3 gece konaklamak istemiştik ilk gece sonrasında başka bir otel bularak oradan uzaklaştık. Geri kalan geceler için geri ödeme talep etsekte, umursamaz bir tavırla reddedildi. Olan paramıza ve tatilimize oldu.

- Ying (8/5): - Brilliant view from the room, sleeping to the sound of the waves. Ensure that doors are closed and no items are left in the balcony as the monkeys frequent the area. Shower pressure and temperature is good. The walk down includes 100+ steps, can be steep and narrow.

- Tony (10/5): One of the best places to stay in Uluwatu! - The location was breathtaking. Our room was carved into the rock face, with uninterrupted views. The setting was easily the most memorable part of our stay one of the best locations I’ve ever experienced. Down a couple of steps and we were on the beach and able to have a swim. We loved falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing on the rocks below and feeling the gentle vibrations of the sea echo through the room, it made for the most peaceful sleep. This location won’t be for everyone. The stairs down to the accommodation are very steep. But if you’re up for it, I’d highly recommend it, the experience is what this resort is all about. The only downside for us was that it was the middle of summer and the air-conditioning unit in the room was too small to properly cool the space. The staff were lovely though and brought us a fan, which kept the air moving and made it much more comfortable. This is still a 10 out of 10 experience for us!

- Martina (9/5): Un perfetto soggiorno con risveglio col suono dell’oceano 🥰 - La struttura situata a pochi minuti dal centro di Uluwatu offre stanze con vista sull’oceano. Lo staff davvero disponibile, ci ha aiutato a trasportare i bagagli nella stanza, poichè per raggiungere la struttura ci sono circa 90 scalini, basta chiamare dal telefono che si trova all’inizio della strada. Colazione ricca dove si potevano scegliere diversi piatti. Inoltre si poteva accedere ad una spiaggetta privata, con degli scalini. In realtà nulla, la cosa piú faticosa erano gli scalini che se magari si hanno problemi motori non è consigliabile. Però la fatica poi viene ripagata dalla vista meravigliosa che si ha dalla struttura😍

- Sarah (5/5): Disappointing - The location was exceptional! We stayed at this accommodation about a year ago and loved it so much that we decided to return. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t live up to our previous experience, mainly due to interactions with staff that felt unwelcoming and at times rude. After our stay at Rock n Reef, we visited other villas in Uluwatu and were met with much warmer, more polite service, which highlighted the contrast. We hope this is something that can be improved in the future, as the property itself has great potential and we truly enjoyed it on our first visit.

It’s for a little restaurant, bar and seated area with the best views. It’s perfect for a few days. Even though there are a lot of stairs, the staff help with the bags.

- Bhatkar (3/5): It was very a disappointing stay and I felt overpriced against the service. I booked for 3 nights but I checked out afte - Location and view from rooms Inconveniences to get to the rooms. You have to walk up and down roughly 90 massive steps to see the city. They are no proper lights on the streets, it can become very dark at night. I had a massive crab in the toilet as it has open panels for ventilation. Room la do not have basic amenities like hot kettle, iron, moisturiser or even fan. Room has small air condition, which isn’t enough to cool the room.

With monkeys on your rooftop and gecos all over the place, including under your shower😄 rooms cleaned daily and enough sun lounges for all guests to find a spot. Tasty and freshly prepared breakfast and excellent fruit bowls. Staff’s attitude was not very Balinese. Carrying luggage to and from the hotel is required as there are hundreds of steep steps to conquer. I have nothing against tipping culture but stating that carrying a luggage must be paid at least 50k per piece is a bit of a push. Hotel in such location should be prepared that if guests need assistance to even make it there at all - they should have staff available and happy to help. Young gentleman carried my luggage up the stairs, dropped it right at the end of the road out of the forest. Was not happy to assist me with another 500metres to the point where all taxis could arrive and asked for money. It would be more appropriate if the hotel pays an employee for the job and tips remain tips.
