Guest Reviews
- Wegweiserin (10/5): A wonderful stay in Ushuaia - A lovely family-run place in beautiful surroundings with views of the river and Beagle Channel. It's quite a distance from downtown Ushuaia (about an hour on foot) but a cab ride is easy to organise and inexpensive. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable and the breakfast was tasty. Thank you Roger for being such a kind and helpful host!
- Thamar (8/5): - Su personal excelente
- Brenda Serrano (10/5): - Personal muy atento y servicial. Nos orientaron sobre dónde ir y que hacer. Facilidades muy limpias y acogedoras
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional - we really liked this hotel. it was very warm and clean and had the feel of a ski chalet. Rogelio made us an exceptional seafood dinner. the hotel is in a quiet residential area but you need a car to get into the centre of town.
- Liona (9/5): Superb -
- kitty_root (10/5): A Wonderful Spot - The hotel itself is clean, simple, and gets the job done. But the reason to stay here is for Rogelio and his wife - they are the most welcoming hosts, do such a great job of making it feel like home when you stay here, and Rogelio is a great chef 👨🏻🍳 Location-wise, the hotel is a ways outside of downtown, but it's a quick taxi ride or a nice 30 min walk. You're also just a quick walk away from a beach with a fantastic view of the mountains. Absolutely would recommend to anyone looking for a B&B kind of feel!
- Meander551001 (10/5): Fantastic hotel - My husband and I stayed at Hosteria Mi Vida while visiting Ushuaia on our honeymoon. We had a wonderful stay and truly appreciated the excellent hospitality, comfort and cleanliness that we experienced. Rogelio and his wife were very welcoming and we greatly enjoyed breakfast and dinner service at the hotel. The location is a 30 minute walk to town or an easy 5 minute cab ride. I would highly recommend staying here. The owners made us feel right at home!
- ulibear (10/5): What a nice surprise - We did not really expect much at the end of the would, but much enjoyed our stay there. Good and spacious room, very clean. a nice barbecue and really perfect hosts. Incredibly helpful. Our Compliments !
- Sa_Jimi (10/5): Amazing experience - We stayed there for 2 nights. We had a great time, the room was simple, but very comfortable, and the view from the window was very nice and relaxing. The welcome was fantastic, the owner and the staff were really nice, friendly and very helpful (without ever being intrusive). We feel like at home. We had lunch in their restaurant a couple of times and we loved everything. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Absolutely recommended!
- 335leslied (10/5): Lovely stay!! - Our first hotel was fully booked due to the strike. So we were brought to this one.
After 5 minutes we had already the feeling of being "at home". The owners showed us around, helped us out where necessary.
Rooms were nice and clean. Silent. Good breakfast.
For us a bit to far from the city. But 1 remise in the morning and 1 in the evening wasn't that much. So we were actually very glad the first hotel was fully booked!!! We loved this one!!
- minabug (10/5): A Gem - This is a beautiful, comfortable inn with scenic views of mountains and a stream. The proprietor is extremely kind and helpful. He is also an excellent chef, and we decided to have dinner there our second night because the first night was so good (dinner is extra). The food features excellent regional specialties with an at-home feel that you can't get from the restaurants in the touristy section of town. Breakfast is included and was great. It's a little bit out of the center of town, which is either a long walk or a short (5 USD) taxi ride away. The towels aren't as soft as some places, but that's because they're line-dried, which is important for the environment--so that cancels out the stiffness! No complaints at all. This was a memorable place to stay for many good reasons.
- paulinehogg8 (10/5): Very comfortable but best are the owners who are just wonderfully kind and helpful - We were supposed to be here just one night before flying back to Buenos Aires. The rooms are very comfortable and the location is great and quiet being just outside the main town. However our flight was cancelled due to a strike by Aerolineas Argentina and the owners really came up trumps and were just so amazingly helpful. They let use their phone to try to phone the airline and then advised us to go to the airport. We were a group of 7 so 2 of us went and the owners looked after the others all day. After spending all day trying to get information, the hosteria had kept our rooms for us in case we needed them an extra night - which we did. They then let us use their phone to rearrange flights and arranged taxis for us for the following day. Next day we were due to leave before they were due to start breakfast but they got up specially to give us a dulce de leche snack biscuit to keep us going to the airport.
I would stay here again as they could not have been more helpful and caring and made us so very welcome.
Thank you so much.
- Gerhard (10/5): Empfehlenswerte Unterkunft - Schön und modern. Gut ausgestattet. Alle recht freundlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
- B5862FDjamesk (10/5): Skiing at the end of the world - A great place to stay while skiing at the end of the world. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and genuinely cared about providing the best experience possible even though we struggled a little in each others languages. The hotel is warm and comfortable (important, it's a cold place to ski in the spring). The food was great. I highly recommend it when staying in Ushuaia.
- Alejandro (10/5): - Hermoso lugar, limpio, tranquilo. El personal y sus dueños son muy cordiales. Excelente desayuno.
- pnaguipulli (10/5): Wonderful and welcoming hosteria - How happy we were that we chose Hosteria Mi Vida for our stay in Ushuaia. From the moment we first arrived, Rogelio and his team were so kind and welcoming. Our rooms on both visits were modern, very comfortable and light with great views. The hosteria is new but with lovely antique furniture from Rogelio's family. The first night Rogelio cooked us a fantastic casuela de mariscos and the atmosphere in the dining room was very jolly. The breakfasts were also delicious. Rogelio was always there to ensure that our stay went smoothly, ordering taxis to the port and the airport. The hosteria is a little distant from the centre of the town but we found this to be a distinct advantage and there is a local bus or taxis. This is the only place we would consider
staying in on our next trip to Ushuaia.
- Dooonerak (10/5): Wonderful rooms and People - We arrived here after camping in the backcountry mountains for two nights and were absolutely delighted with our experience. The building features a modern design with clean simple lines, exposed/open wooden staircases, big windows and tall ceilings. It is decorated with antiques and various historic photos. The staff was attentive to all our needs and very friendly! The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean and beautifully tiled. We had a corner room with nice views out towards the water. Breakfast was quite good as well.
The hosteria is located about a 10 minute drive from the center of town clustered with a number of other hostels and small hotels with a local grocery store with an ATM a few minutes away. We stayed in about 5 different hotels and hostels in our Patagonia travels and this was one of our favorites. I would stay here again, it would be my first choice in Ushuaia!
- CAD_abroad (10/5): Lovely Hosteria in Ushuaia - This hosteria was a good value in an expensive city like Ushuaia. The room was simple, but well organized and clean. The hosteria has friendly and helpful staff. Our family felt very welcomed. Some of the restaurant staff speak English. We ate one meal at the hosteria and it was delicious. Our kids loved the pizza.
It is not within walking distance of the city center but taxis were reasonable - 70/80 pesos. Would recommend renting a car for the freedom of travelling the area on your own schedule.
- daftdairyman (10/5): Very nice, quite new hosteria with friendly staff - This hosteria is definitely a recommendation! Even though it is located quite outside of Ushuaia, it is very clean, cozy, everything looks new and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Food was also very good there (we had chicken grilled in a special local way).
- RuudF_13 (8/5): Brand new hosteria - Rogelio Sanfeliú opened his hosteria just four months ago. It was a pleasure to see that so much attention was given to details. Arriving around midnight, Rogelio offered us to prepare a pizza, which we accepted with pleasure, since we hadn't had dinner that night. The rooms are spacious, overlooking a small lake, however, the beds are on the narrow side. The whole building has the athmosphere of a Swiss chalet, including double glazing. Breakfast was very good, with a fresh fruit salad and for dinner the second night, we had a great steak. He is a very nice host who does everything to make your stay comfortable.
The neighborhood is new, but because of the many constructions and unpaved roads at this moment, gives a run-down impression. The hosteria is located some 5 kilometers from downtown Ushuaia, therefore tranquil, but private transport is needed to get into town. The hosteria will expanded in the coming year to accomodate the guests for the world skiing championship in 2015. It was one of the few places in our trip where not only the WiFi, but also the Internet worked.
I can highly recommend Hosteria Mi Vida!
