The television had multiple viewing options. A very enjoyable stay. If possible the light on the outside of the rooms could possibly be set on a timer or sensor to go off around 10pm.

- Angela (8/5): A great pub/motel stay in a lovely town - Great location. Had forgotten how convenient it is to park directly outside accommodation. Traditional style motel room painted, tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean - even the curtain and bed cover fabrics felt new and clean. Comfy bed. Helpful staff. Good pub. Walls are a little thin when it comes to noise but it was all quiet after 10pm so we got a good night’s rest.

The staff were friendly and welcoming with a Christmas slice! There is a hotel beside it so you have the option to dine there which is good when travelling on a Sunday. There was nothing to dislike.

- Joann (5/5): The accomodation was good but the bar needed more staff. We wouldn’t stay there again. - The accomodation was nice and clean. Most of the staff were friendly particularly a young man that was serving in the bar in the afternoon on the Monday. When booking into a hotel you would expect to be able to wander into the bar and grab a cold drink after being on the road travelling. The bar didn’t open until 3 and they only serve lunch on the weekend. Even if they had a limited menu. We also were meeting some local friends for dinner and we were told by some locals we would be kicked out around 8pm. We were finishing our dinner so weren’t told to leave but they called last drinks around 8.15. My husband grew up in Tenterfield and the Royal was his local and he said it was never like that before. The bar also needed more staff. It is holiday season so such a good time for country businesses to take advantage of the holiday trade. We wouldn’t stay at the Royal on our next visit.

- Darci (8/5): Convenient, clean and comfortable for our visit with family, will book with them again. - The location was perfect, walking distance to most cafes, shops and parks. Big, clean bathrooms and undercover parking for each room. Handy to have a restaurant and bar onsite so family could come to us for a dinner out. Room spacious enough to fit a porta-cot without moving other furniture or losing walkways. There was never anyone at reception and it was hard to track down staff. But once you did, they were very lovely and helpful.

Some undercover parking for vehicles. The motel car parking facias need painting and more undercover parking would be ideal.
