Guest Reviews
- Odyssey17156391402 (2/5): Awful night crew for check in. Beds are uncomfortable , go elsewhere - We walked in to the night crew with two TV's blaring different shows, very poor communication skills. Rude staff. There was a radio station playing loudly in the interior hallways. I asked it be turned off, strangest thing ever... they said no we can't. Just a bizarre situation. Beds are hard sheets are rough I would never stay again.
- Jennifer (7/5): Great for one night - Clean, quiet Hot tub wasn’t working
- Rick (9/5): - Nice and clean! Nothing
- Tim (8/5): Staff was great alot of snow could have used more snow removed but its winter and Minnesota - Convenient NA
- Mary (6/5): The hotel was nice. The staff didn’t do a good job. Asked for them to make more coffee around 9, they did it was bad! - Yes it was clean
I wish I knew no elevator. I recently had an injury, very hard to go up the stairs with luggage. No elevator. Lady with red hair said two times she would help us with TV
She never showed up.
- craig (8/5): I enjoyed the stay and the staff were very helpful. -

- Flatpick21 (10/5): Unexpected features at a great value - Spacious lobby, spacious room. Very clean. We had a mini-suite with a gas fireplace. It was a nice surprise and really helped the mood this weekend. The furniture was in great shape and was very comfortable. Unexpected features at this price.
The staff have been very helpful and it’s an indication of management that deserves recognition.
- cgF2712NM (10/5): Great Front Desk, updated rooms are nice! - Debbie at the Front Desk made the late night check in really smooth and was kind and professional. The room was clean and updated. Didn’t use the pool area so I can’t speak to it. 10/10
- S3846VAtomasl (10/5): Well worth the stay - Late night check in and late check out “No problem “ one of the best stays I’ve had in a while. Room was clean and comfortable. Lobby & dining room well decorated and clean as well. Staff professional and courteous.real nice folks
- Faviana (10/5): maravilloso y acogedor - todo muy limpio y acogedor
- Aurelio (9/5): Deb or Deborah the one working there at night was real helpful nice friendly service thank you so much - Nice, friendly service The Jacuzzi wasn’t working and it wasn’t mentioned on your website that it wasn’t working. I could’ve booked somewhere else where they had a nice Jacuzzi that’s why I wanted it there because I rented there before and I liked it.
- nitrof531 (10/5): Wonderful time very friendly staff. Good rooms - Great breakfast, pool, and great staffffffff!!! Wonderful time. Very clean the rooms are very nice, people at the front desk are so nice and full of life! There was plenty of parking this is a very convenient place to stay and great service
- Dwight (9/5): Incredibly thoughtful Staff ! - Nice.
Crowded due to high number of guests enjoying complimentary breakfast.
- leahhR1903PO (10/5): Very comfortable and so friendly - I grew up here and was back for a family funeral. Stayed here 3 nights.
So clean, comfortable and friendly.
The front lobby area is a great spot for drinking coffee in the morning.
Thanks for being here!
- jleachdc77 (10/5): Cozy hotel - Cozy hotel in a cozy town. The hot tub was being repaired so unfortunate timing for us. Plan to come back again. Clean place.
- Glen (10/5): -
- Natausha (10/5): - Clean property, comfy beds, great location, staff was pleasant.
- Jane (10/5): Clean & comfy! - Room was nice & clean, bed was comfortable & our room had new TVs.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great service - Great service, very clean! Just bad breakfast
- Lee (10/5): -
- kathyk01090901 (10/5): Clean, updated rooms and friendly, helpful staff! - We were in town to drop our son off at college and stayed the night. The woman at the front desk (I didn’t get her name) was very friendly and helpful! The hotel and room were very clean. The decor seems new and is nice. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite and there was a lot of room, two closets, plenty of outlets for phones, etc. Our younger son liked the “living room” space to have to himself. We will definitely stay here again when we come to visit our son. Thanks
- Karen (4/5): Facility was very clean but tiny. Booking process via website or phone was just terrible. - Nothing was healthy. No workout facility, nothing healthy for breakfast. The check-in process was the WORST I've ever experienced, and I travel monthly. When I checked in I found out I had 4 rooms under my name because I tried so many times to talk with someone who could help me. I called perhaps 6-7 different numbers from different websites but couldn't get to the main property, just people who had no idea about the property itself. For all I know I was charged for the other rooms, as the rates I did pay v. what was quoted on my confirmation # were different. I will not likely rent a Wyndham property for this reason.
- Kenneth (8/5): - Room was clean and comfortable.
- Marcos (10/5): - Cleanliness and a good light
- Mary (10/5): - This hotel was very clean and comfortable! I felt the staff was quite friendly and very helpful.
- Mary (10/5): - Nice remodel
- Marylou (8/5): -
- Yvonne (10/5): - It was a pleasant stay.. I have stayed there a lot in past, once a month for couple years. Stop going as it was unkept, dirty…… told me from construction workers. Now they have replaced and cleaned up the hotel in many avenues. Keep up the good work!
- Nora (9/5): - Very well-maintained hotel. We stay here every time we visit Crookston and we've never had any complaints. Friendly staff! Would definitely recommend staying here. Breakfast could have been better. Although the staff was diligent in making sure there were fresh fruits and everything was refilled, the choices itself were limited. My toddler would've loved some eggs with his toast and the toaster needs an upgrade. Even the lowest setting burnt my slice of bread. Anyway, these are minor issues which, if gotten to their attention, I'm sure will be fixed. But overall, I'd stay here the next time I'm in town.
- ColoradoPeltier (10/5): Great stay - The mobility accessible room was great and had thoughtful touches.
Our other room was very nice, super clean.
Overall, way better than I expected!
Staff super friendly
Breakfast had eggs and sausages plus waffles in addition to the usual stuff.
- Cholan (10/5): Able to focus on work - Quiet and clean Nothing
- Mary (10/5): - Very friendly, helpful staff. Storms caused a power outage overnight. Staff was available to assist the entire time.
- Patrick (6/5): overall a decent stay. - Breakfast needs some work. It was very basic with few options. Put a TV in the lobby area.
- Janice (6/5): - Tub very slippery, unsafe. Showerstream minimal. No bathroom fan. Lighting in BR bad.
- Roy (7/5): Good - Convenient and a great handicap room Black out shade was broken and desk light didn’t work because no electrical outlet
- Kathryn (8/5): Staff was great! Room was nice but no a/c not ideal & no tv kinda disappointing. - Newly remodeled..new paint, carpeting, furniture! The air conditioning & TV did not work.
- Vanessa (8/5): We had a nice stay in town for a family reunion. - great breakfasts, easy access the hot tub was "out of order"-it was out of order last year when we stayed here.
- Seaside253482 (10/5): Great hotel. - Our room was very nice, clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had plenty of room. The entire staff was friendly and very nice. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others. Breakfast was good and there was a selection of different food to eat.
- 424nyy (10/5): Crookston AmericInn - We had an extended stay, the hotel was totally remodeled while we were there. New carpeting, furniture and bedding. Pool was redone. Dash, Danny and Debbie couldn’t have been better. Made sure we had everything we needed. Management kept the hotel very clean. Handy laundry room.
- Phil (8/5): Very good -
- Catherine (4/5): - The hotel was clean. Beds were ok. Breakfast was not good but mostly because they appeared to be understaffed. I can handle all of that, but the worst thing was I selected this hotel over another one that cost less and close by because it had a hot tub. After the long drive I had that day and and the next, I paid $40.00 more to have use of the hot tub. Unfortunately the hot tub was closed with no advance notice. With my long drive, late arrival, and no notice of the pool closing until I had gotten things into my room, put on my swim suit, and walked to the pool area to discover that the hot tub was closed, it was too late (almost 10:00 pm) to find another hotel with a hot tub. I suggest if you want to use all of the facilities listed for this hotel, you call directly to make sure the facilities are open for use. I would like to get a refund of at least $40.00 since I could have gotten a room without use of a hot tub for that lower price very close by.
- Darren (4/5): - The mattress was horrible. Slept aweful! You would think a hotel would at minimum have a decent mattress and pillows. Our mattress was crushed on 1 side of the bed in room 101. All else was good. Wouldn’t stay at the hotel for that reason. Sleeping in a comfortable bed should be number 1 priority! Does it matter? Thank you
- David (8/5): - Unfortunately went down for breakfast at 915am and my only choice was ham. The attendant walked in and out twice without filling anything. Thankfully theres a McDonalds nextdoor.
- Christopher (8/5): - The hotel was very convenient to the university. The staff upgraded us to a jacuzzi suite which was very clean. The hotel seemed quiet.
- TINA (10/5): - Staff were very helpful, going above and beyond by carrying my bags to my room. The beds and room were comfortable and updated.
- Mark (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay. Everything was perfect.
- Andrew (2/5): Disappointed that the highest priced hotel in town was gross and appetites were broken. - Located near UMC campus Shower head was gross, beds were terrible, hot tub was broken, workers preparing breakfast buffet didn’t change gloves between front desk duties and food handling, pool was ice cold, staff barely acknowledged our presence(bare minimum), AND it was the most expensive booking out of the three hotels in the town.
- Lynn (8/5): Excellent Staff - The service was excellent. The staff takes care of the property. Only downside was the sofa and chair in the king deluxe were uncomfortable to sit on, however the pull out bed was excellent. Really enjoyed our stay.
- Leif (1/5): awful want full refund - nothing where should i start?
- teresamY7894UR (10/5): Clean and friendly - Very clean! Nice people, quiet establishment. Americana themed which is super cute. Fireplace when you walk inside the lobby. Great breakfast selection as well. We enjoyed our stay. Had trouble with the tv and they fixed it immediately. Will definitely stay here again. Was visiting our daughter at UMC so we will be back.
- Cliff (8/5): - Clean room and lots of room. The pool was cold and the hot tub was out of order. Otherwise a pleasant stay. Very helpful staff.
- Kylene (9/5): Our room was clean and cozy.the beds were very comfotable and the staff was kind. - The property was very clean. The pool was closed for cleaning & maintenance.
- Kelsey (4/5): - They hotel was under renovation. But we got a room that was suppose to have a couch and it did not.our fridge was hot instead of cold. There was stuff floating all over the pool. And hot tub was not working and had green water in it. I dont think we will be staying here again
- Mai (3/5): Poor - Wen got there the pool and jazzcuzi were down so we left that why I booked motel for my kids
- Julie (8/5): - Nice hotel that is conveniently located close to the university. Quiet. Pool & hot tub were closed for cleaning. Check in process always takes 15 minutes which I don’t understand when I book through Expedia.
- rachelgE7799QG (2/5): The worst experience I’ve ever had - Worst hotel experience I have EVER had in my life. On my way to the hotel I got an email that my room was canceled. I immediately called the hotel and nobody answered the phone for over an hour of trying to call. Once she finally answered she told me she canceled my room because I wasn’t there yet. It was 8pm I was traveling to the hotel. She gave me my room back. We arrived at the hotel at 10 pm and she said our room was ready and told me she would only charge me 99$ because of the confusion for our one night stay. She then proceeded to charge me for 2 nights 218$. I corrected her and said we are only staying for 1 night. She apologized and said she “fixed it” well she fixed it by charging me again and not refunded me for the first charge. So I paid over 350$ for one night in a crappy dirty hotel that canceled my room in the first place. Not to mention the pool was broken and we were not notified of this. The website and email both said it had a working pool. Once I noticed both charged went through on my credit card I called Wyndham and complained. The man was extremely rude but agreed to open a case for me. Still no word from them! I have tried calling the hotel for 4 days to get a email copy of my reciept. Nobody will answer the phone of the hotel! I disputed the charge with my credit card and still waiting to hear! I was supposed to stay at 2 more Wyndham hotels this month for dance competitions and have CANCELED all of my rooms. I will never stay there again! I highly recommend not staying at this hotel!
- Pete J (2/5): - They gave me a room that i did not book. Ineeded the king sized bed. They did fix this. I took a half day off work to utilize the pool but it was closed for repair.
- Hesse (8/5): Very good -
- sandyktait (10/5): Great Experience - The breakfast was wonderful. They were constantly bringing out more food to replenish it. A very good variety too.
The staff is very courteous and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. We have stayed here every 3 months for the last 8 years and we will be back.
- heatherwP5921ID (10/5): Helpful staff - The night check in lady Deb is amazing. She knows me by name, and is always extremely helpful. She makes for an enjoyable stay.
I wish that the hot tub was working. Would have been very nice to have sat in there after a long day out at the horse barns.
- Monica (7/5): Overall experience was good - Clean welcoming environment Hot tub didn’t work, pool looked like it could be more clean and the area was cold. Breakfast was unremarkable
- margaretrJ7398BC (10/5): Thank you, AmericInn Crookston! - Excellent service. Above expectations. Comfortable bed. Variety of pillow choices for all preferences. Clean. Quiet. Well-managed. Attentive staff for special situations. Friendly. Hospitable. Very pleasant in every way. Thank you so much!
- annakF8434EU (2/5): Do NOT stay here, especially with students!! - This was the worst hotel I have stayed at in 7 years of teaching. I have never considered packing up my students and leaving a hotel until this stay. SKETCHY. The front desk agents were rather rude, sat in the lobby and chit chatted. The folks in the hotel and staff were all sketchy and I didn't feel safe with my students. The most disturbing part other than the sketchy people staying and working there was when you walked up and down the hallways, lots of doors were blocked open with the door locks.....very creepy to walk by and there were over 8 this way. On the first floor there was a door open with all kinds of construction stuff in it? Very odd. The rooms were dingy, many things had been ripped off the walls (lots of screw holes /patches in the walls and shower). I do believe we came home with bedbugs to top it all off. 0/10 do not recommend
- Lacy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Out of town funeral - We had a family funeral in Crookston. And the hotel was so accomidating. Greatly appreciated
- Julie (8/5): - Checked in on-line but when I checked in the desk person still made me go through all the same stuff. On-line check in was pointless!
- Ron (9/5): Superb -
- Wayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gerardo (8/5): - Quiet property, breakfast was warm, several options and stocked when needed. Cable did not work and asked through text message for help and received a text back 5 hours later. I fixed the issue myself. Other than the late text, everything else was great
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Relaxing and quiet pool area, just wish the jets worked on the hot tub; room was clean, but the beds were a little uncomfortable; staff was very friendly and knowledgeable; and the breakfast had many tasty options for all palates.
- Terri (10/5): Very clean and spacious. The breakfast area is also nice and the staff are very friendly. -
- N63TOjaredb (10/5): Good place at good price - Good breakfast; big room, very quiet and pleasant front desk staff.
Didn’t use the pool or hot tub so can’t tell about that.
No elevator to the second floor so if you have heavy or alot of luggage I would get the first floor.
The king suite was nice and was able to work in one room and rest in the other.
Good location to several area restaurants and close proximity to UMC
- Kristina (7/5): We had a good visit. Kids loved the pool - It is convenient and clean. I was supposed to be in a suite, was 2 queen bed and they brought in a rollaway. Room very small
- Jana (8/5): - Overall good experience
- Patricia (9/5): It was suffiecient for 1 night. - Clean, staff friendly Beds were very uncomfortable.Mattress hard and lumpy.
- Laurie (8/5): - I got in at midnight and in the morning I asked for a late checkout. The hotel wasn’t busy. The front desk person said no and wouldn’t budge. He said the cleaning staff was ready to leave. They were not. They were still cleaning several rooms. Housekeeping also knocked on my door two hours before check out even though I had my do not disturb sign out.
- jocelyn (10/5): - A quiet, calm stay with a nice pool!
- David (10/5): - Great stay.
- Tina (10/5): - Everyone was wonderful. Would be nice to see the pool area get some attention. The hot tub wasn’t working and the pool temp was chillier than normal.
- Carolyn (10/5): - No complaints
- Julie (4/5): - Hot tub not working, pool looked dirty, uncomfortable beds, room had a musty smell, slow check in, overall bad experience.
- Madison (10/5): - Good breakfast, accomidating
- Kari (8/5): - Good water pressure
- Brian (6/5): - The room we were in had mold on the ceiling in the bathroom.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Close to the college and clean
- Mary (5/5): Would not stay again - Not impressed with breakfast.. Carpet was very dirty and "damp"
- Katherine (10/5): - Lovely impromptu stay in Crookston. Everything was perfect except for the construction around the hot tub area.
- I220MQjennifers (4/5): Has gone down in cleanliness & quality - I stay here at this location a few times a year. I was so disappointed this stay. There were stains on the sheets and 1 of the pillowcases which was disgusting and the breakfast was not good especially compared to previous stays. They didn’t even have bottled mini waters on any of the days or the individual small milk cartons for cereal like they used to have. There was barely any variety to choose from and what was there did not taste good. In the past stays at this hotel the cleanliness, breakfast and service were always excellent. Very sad.
- Anonymous (10/5): The receptionist Debbie was so kind and thoughtful! -
- Emily (10/5): - Had an unexpected overnight in the area and they were very patient with me and my two toddlers checking in. When i asked for a crib i expected to need to carry to the room myself like i have at other hotels. They insisted to carry it for me and I greatly appreciated it.
- susansY2339JG (10/5): A great gem! - The staff were excellent and the room was well appointed and very clean! I had a choice of 4 pillow densities which worked great for effective sleeping!
- Catherine (10/5): - Convenient location, though shared access with the McDonald's wasn't optimal
- michaelhZ6947PJ (8/5): Exceeded expectations - Very clean and looked quite new. Bed was comfortable.
Continental breakfast even featured eggs, sausage and a waffle maker. Coffee was good as was the orange juice.
Despite being off hwy 2, room was very quiet.
Lobby area was very nice and clean- front desk person - very friendly.
- Carpenter (7/5): Good -
- Tanya (8/5): Very good - Needed more water pressure and the hot tub fixed....i would have gave them a 10 Water pressure and hot tub not working
- Keith_Rebel979 (10/5): Great stop in the area - This is really a decent hotel. The staff was friendly, professional and accessible. The place was clean and well kept.
- Dee (10/5): - Staff is always friendly!
