- Marlene Due (10/5): - Meget venlige og imødekommende værter. En bonus at kunne sidde i opholdsrummet/spisesalen med lidt medbragt mad om aftenen. Tak for et dejligt ophold 😊
- Inga (10/5): Unforgettable and heartwarming - Where to start? Deb and Paul are the most wonderful and sweetest hosts you could imagine: helpful, kind, interested, not to forget the breakfast made by chef de cuisine, Paul: highlight! Self made granola and cherry compote, egg Florentine or vegetarian sausage with beans, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms. I could skip lunch … And the room: neat, clean, beautifully decorated with the paintings of artist Adrian Grainger (the beaks!). Bed: perfect, not too soft, not too hard. Tea, incredibly tasty spicy Cornish cookies and every day fresh water are to be found. The beach: 15 mins walk to land in paradise, sandy, golden, what a view! Long story short: I will come back and am looking forward to chatting with you and Cleo again!

Breakfast was delicious, good choice
- Daniel (9/5): Fantastic hosts and gourmet breakfast - Wonderful hosts, gourmet breakfasts. Paul and Deborah were so welcoming and have a wealth of information to share on hikes, transportation links, local restaurants, surf spots, and local history. The breakfasts were divine - possibly the best I've ever seen at a B & B. It was not a problem for us, but it should be mentioned that this B & B is not in the town of St. Ives. A long walk or a short bus ride will get you there, and we enjoyed being out of the tourist bustle, but just FYI.
- Baird (9/5): A warm welcoming home with all the treats you would expect from a top rated guest house. - Such a lovely place. Paul and Deb are friendly, helpful and the breakfast was superb. The bed is super comfortable with gorgeous bed linen and their kind attention to detail with special treats like biscuits and elderflower soft drink from the area was such a lovely surprise.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -

We will definitely be back again😊 The apartment and the carpets everywhere are beautifully clean, and it feels good to me that as a guest, I can help by taking care of it and taking off my street shoes at the entrance...
- Florin (10/5): Excelent , really nice people and lovely breakfast - Very clean and modern Everything was really good to be honest
- Gilda (10/5): Exceptional - We had a fantastic time at Oystercatcher B&B. The location is very convenient with lots of wonderful places to visit and make the most of the amazing Cornwall area. The hosts are so friendly, the place is super clean and cosy, the breakfast delicious and fresh. They were all the time suggesting places to visit and good restaurants as well. We recommend them 100%. We surely will come back! Thank you!
- Caroline (10/5): I booked a weekend break at last minute and we were not dissapointed. The location was perfect and the the accommodation - Perfect little hidden gem.
- Carl (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent little B&B in Carbis Bay! Paul & Deborah are the nicest people, we could have spoken with them for many more hours. And they do the best breakfasts too! Our room was compact, but spotlessly clean, super comfortable, and had everything you need for a great stay in Carbis Bay. Highly recommended! Nothing. All good!
- Sophie (10/5): A fantastic b&b experinece! - We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. The large double room had a fabulous sea view. The room had everything we needed and more, with toiletries available to use, hot and cold drinks and biscuits! Deb and Paul really go above and beyond to make everything special for their guests. Their advice really helped us to make the most of our days in Cornwall. The two course breakfast was outstanding, with plenty of options. It set us up for a whole day of exploring! Highly recommend. Nothing.
- Ankita (9/5): Superb -
- Roz (10/5): Impressive! Highly recommended. - The hosts and facilities were wonderful! There were so many personal touches to the room - super clean, lovely linen, super comfortable bed, great biscuits and drinks in addition to the usual tea/coffee etc. Breakfasts were excellent quality and the menu choices were outstanding for a small bnb. Steepish interior stairs to climb with luggage but that’s expected in a terrace. We loved it!
- Ken (8/5): Very good -
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional - Liked everything, highly recommended
- Joel (10/5): The place to stay and enjoy in St Ives - We are happy to recommend the house that felt like home!
The hospitality was excellent!
A spotless room, a wonderful breakfast rich and tasty.
The tips and info we received from Paul and Deborah were EXCELLENT.
Super place and location with PARKING!
It made our stay in their home pleasant and enjoyable!
- Carolyn (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were exceptional. They were all incredibly welcoming, and friendly. They had an incredible knowledge of the local area and provided excellent advice on where to visit and how to get there. They had great breakfast options and were more than happy to accommodate for allergies. Furthermore, the room was exceptionally maintained and certainly exceeded pre-arrival expectations.
- Ralph (10/5): excellent. - Oystercatcher has the best all around service all summed up with great service, overall cleanliness and vibe of the house, great food, perfect location and just all the right mix of everything that you are looking for a great stay/holiday vacation. Deborah and paul made sure that the guests are all comfortable and they even go extra mile by sharing top tips to make your stay easier which i love the most about and they made my first cornwall visit a sure memorable one! Wouldnt have a second thought to book here again come my next holiday!
- Antony (8/5): Great few days with lots of fresh air - Very friendly and helpful hosts. Excellent hearty breakfast. Good local bus service so was able to leave the car behind during our stay. Lots to do both in town and also outdoors.
- Melanie (10/5): excellent - One of the best places I've stayed in. Warm and friendly hosts and I could not fault anything. Definitely will come again.
- Mark (9/5): Very enjoyable relaxing break. - Very good Breakfast all locally sourced.
- Lynn (10/5): Exceptional - Paul and Deb were excellent hosts, the breakfast was delicious and the scrambled eggs were the best I've had in five weeks of travelling. The room was spacious and comfortable and the shower again one of the best. Thank you so much for the bath mat in the shower base....most places don't have them and it feels like you're going to slip over. Finally thank you for making our bed and tidying our room.... again something we've not had in five weeks. Your interaction with the guests is thoughtful and encourages the group to learn things from each other and make friends along the way. Nothing.... everything was good
- Joe (9/5): A beautiful B&B situated just a stones throw away from Carbis Bay Beach - A nice B&B located just a stones throw away from Carbis Bay Beach and the train station. Perhaps just a personal opinion in that the room wasn't tidied via housekeeping with a replenishment of tea and coffee, water and linen.
- Cirinne (10/5): A gem! 10/10, highly recommend! - Our stay at the Oystercatcher was wonderful. Deborah, Paul, and Cleo are fantastic hosts; we have rarely felt so welcome at a BnB. The accommodation has everything one could wish for, including an excellent breakfast (veggie friendly). Our highlight: the tips that Deborah and Paul provided were brilliant. Thanks to them, we were able to make the most of our time in Cornwall. This is definitely a trip we will not forget anytime soon. Therefore, we can highly recommend the Oystercatcher to everyone! We will definitely come back!
- Vicky (9/5): Superb - I went to St. Ives for the first time but it was my best travelling experience in the UK.
The breakfast was fresh-cooked and super delicious.
Paul and Deborah were so friendly and helped us a lot with taxi calling and recommendations about local food and craft beer! ;)
We had a really great time at Oystercatcher and appreciate a lot for the hospitality.
- Linda (9/5): Excellent stay,excellent host,highly recommended . - Comfortable, very clean Parking a little cramped
- Bilun (10/5): Warm welcome, comfy room! - The family that owns the place was very friendly and helpful from the first moment. We had made a trip plan before coming to St.Ives, but the suggestions the owner gave us made our trip much more enjoyable. The design of the rooms has sea and beach details that reflect the region where they are located. We really loved the color harmony of our room with the artwork of the artist Adrian Grainger. Working with local artists and businesses while creating the design of the property is a very special and stylish approach. Our room was spacious, tidy and very clean. Breakfast was rich and extremely delicious. The place is in a location that can be easily reached everywhere by both car and public transportation. We will definitely come again. Thank you for your warm hosting- dear Deborah, Paul and little Cleo :) There was nothing we didn’t like
- Elizabeth (9/5): Welcoming friendly so much knowledge of the area food great the room we had was fab - The place was ideally suited for travelling around Cornwall the food was excellent the staff were so friendly and welcoming a great place to stay. Nothing
- Johan (10/5): Lovely stay near St. Ives - We came to this area to have nice walks over the coast path. This B&B fulfilled all of the promises. We occupied the room at the front of the first floor with a lovely sea-view. Hosts were more than nice and helpfull. You should definitely have a meal at La Casita; its a 3 minute walk and has wonderful meals, athmosphere and tapas to offer. Close to a bus-stop that will facilitate you on al your walks for only £ 2,- most of the time. Loved it!
- Jane (10/5): Fabulous - We thought the hosts, Deborah and Paul and, not forgetting lovely Cleo, went above and beyond to make our stay as wonderful as possible. We had the best time and their hospitality was exceptional. Thank you guys - We hope to visit again one day AAA+++ Jane ♡ Tony
- Chirath (10/5): Excellent - We recently had the pleasure of staying at Paul and Deborah's place, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The accommodations were comfortable and inviting, making for a very pleasant stay. The place is just a stone's throw from Carbis Bay Beach, which added to the charm of my visit.
A highlight of my visit was the delicious breakfast that was served each morning. The variety and quality of the food were exceptional, and it was a great way to start each day.
I would also like to extend a special thank you to their BOSS, Chloe. Her warmth and friendliness added a lovely personal touch to my stay.
I highly recommend staying at Paul and Deborah's place for anyone seeking a welcoming and enjoyable experience.
Warm regards,
Chirath and Dhyami N/A
- Meyrem (10/5): Excellent 👌 clean, comfortable and quiet. Nicest hosts 😁 - Paul, Debbie and Cleo :) are the nicest most sincere hosts, so accommodating and friendly, who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. It was like staying in a home away from home. They were extremely helpful with recommendations on places to visit. The hotel is close to everything we wanted to see walking or by car. Superb breakfasts cooked by chef Paul👌. The room had all the amenities we needed, and it was clean, comfortable and quiet. We absolutely loved it and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Oystercatcher. 100% recommend. Thank you 10/10!! 😁
- Deborah (9/5): Very comfortable, close to beaches and town with lovely hosts. - Deb and Paul are great hosts, very knowledgeable about the area, happy to make recommendations and take a genuine interest in their guests. Yummo breakfast. The only thing we really missed was a fridge in the room.
- Nicola (10/5): Absolutely fabulous - Such a friendly couple and great local information about transport into St Ives saved us lots of time - the room was spotless and the shower looked like brand new! Handy to be just up the road from a large Tesco. Not really any bad points but for some the room might seem a bit small but super comfy bed made up for this
- Alan (10/5): Location was perfect for getting around the area. - Friendly family host, welcomed at check in and parking was no problems right out front. Lovely breakfast.
- Giuseppe (10/5): Simply amazing and relaxing. - The room is clean and well arranged. They pay attention to details. The bed is comfy. The breakfast is delicious and freshly prepared especially the cornish breakfast and the waffles. Paul & Deborah are amazing hosts. Nothing
- Michael (10/5): "Perfick" as Pop Larkin would have said. - Isn't it amazing how some people get it all just right! We thoroughly concur with all the other positive reviews. My wife and I enjoyed an excellent weekend for our wedding anniversary, chose the sea view room (a good move) and felt very happy and relaxed with Deborah, Paul and Cleo's warmth and hospitality. A lovely, well maintained house in an ideal area, a great breakfast, lovely bed linen and good conversations. Nothing pretentious, no airs and graces, just clean and homely B&B as it should be. We won't bother looking for anywhere else for our next visit. Oh, and thank you so much for the thoughtful touches on our anniversary :-) Only the obvious really: that we couldn't have stayed longer. Still, next time.
- Eszter (10/5): Exceptional - The overall stay was brilliant. Lovely hosts, clean room, delicious breakfast, great recommendations for things to do in the area. Debby & Paul are super nice, friendly hosts and well done to their daughter with serving the breakfast! x
Great value for money overall. Can only recommend them.
- Murdoch (10/5): Best place to stay in St ives - The best stay we have had in the UK. Paul and deb were so friendly, kind warming and welcoming. Outstanding property and the cleanliness. Breakfast and option were very good. To hard to choose would recommend the eggs benedict and the French toast. Very helpful with places to see and things to do. Thank you so much we will definitely be back to see you all.
- Ivor (9/5): I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Oystercatcher and meeting such considerate hosts. - The best B&B I've stayed in. Warm welcome from Paul, Deborah and Cleo. Very friendly and helpful hosts. I appreciated the complimentary upgrade from a room overlooking the rear garden to one with a sea view. The room and ensuit bathroom were very well appointed. In addition to tea making facilities, the provision of Cornish biscuits and an elderflower drink was a nice touch. Very comfortable bed (great pillows!). Nothing. (As an aside, I would have opted for a ground floor room because of my age and resulting difficulty with stairs - but my hosts were not aware of this nor was it mentioned during the booking process. Paul kindly carried my heavy case
up to the room and again to my car on departure).
- Simon (10/5): Great place , lovely owners , perfect location, recommend and will return - Lovely property, big room with views over the bay Nothing at all
- Jim (10/5): Certainly one of the most satisfying loaves to stay in St Ives. - Everything… wonderful hosts, easy to get into town on the bus, a comfortable room with an excellent bed and shower… Nothing
- Carina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Veselin (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lars (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adrian (10/5): Very enjoyable stay. - Breakfast was superb, beautifully cooked and presented.Paul and Deborah very attentive to their guests. You could not expect any more from a B&B
- Brian (10/5): Excellent stay in Carbis Bay - A delight and pleasure to stay at the Oystercatcher, comfortable and very friendly and helpful hosts. N/a
- Andrew (10/5): Great accommodation, hosts and location. 10/10 - Will echo what other visitors said. It's a very nice boutique B&B with lovely hosts. The location is great. Carbis Bay is close enough to St Ives to be walkable (or there is an easy bus), and the beaches are within easy range. But unlike being in the centre of St Ives, you get a lot more for your money and you can park your car.
Definitely recommended.
- Anthony (10/5): Best B and B - Great location, friendly, sea view and great breakfast Only had two nights. Will stay 1 week next time.
- Kim (10/5): We will be back again! Best place to stay in southern england - Right from the moment we walked in, Deb, Paul and Cleo were very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about the area.
They gave us great tips for dinner places, hikes right from the B and B. We were upgraded to the Sea View room, which I would highly recommend to book. Oh my gosh, Breakfast was amazing! They were there to greet us when we returned from our first day adventure and were excited to hear our stories. Not one thing! It was the high light of our trip
- Claudiaa312 (10/5): Best stay - Deb and Paul, and little Cloe were 10 out of 10 . They took care of us while we were there ,breakfast was delicious, their service is 100% ,we had no issues and nothing to complain about, and everything was superb and exceeded our expectations. The room was very comfortable. The bed was comfy as well, especially as I'm very fussy about sleeping somewhere else than my bed .the whole house is very clean and well taken care of and makes you feel very welcome and comfortable.
Breakfast was delicious and well made by deb and paul as per photos I jad attached ,we learnt a lot from them as well about the local area as well as about life in general, they are people with high knowledge from which i had learnt new things as well xx.
If the universe will make our paths going in st ives, we will definitely book them again because people like them are very rare to find, and we were so lucky to find them . We wish them the best and hope that someday we will meet again .💜 N/A

Overall it was an amazing stay, thank you :-)
- Anthony (10/5): the hosts where really great - lovely nothing
- Foose (10/5): An amazing stay - Attention to detail, a comfortable and well-appointed room and ensuite, a wealth of local knowledge, amazing breakfast - the French toast is to die for! A great base for a week away.
- Anne (9/5): Paul and Deborah were excellent hosts and the Oyster catcher was an ideal base for us to explore Cornwall. - Lovely clean property, stylishly decorated. Hosts Deborah and Paul were very knowledgeable about the local area and gave great tips on where to park etc. Breakfast was excellent and there was so much choice. Would definitely stay here again. It is a distance from St Ives and there are lots of steep hills. Not advisable if you are not fit!
- Misuzu (10/5): amazing! - amazing owners, beautiful room and fantastic breakfast! everything was beyond expectations and had a great stay there! highly recommended!
I was little bit worried about location but nothing worried about after all! bus stops are few min by foot, just 5-10min from St Ives center by cab. none
- Hans (10/5): Lovely - Excellent Everything was ok.
- Tsvetelina (9/5): Superb -
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional - Everything!! Paul, Deborah and Cleo were so friendly. The room was perfect, clean and comfortable. The breakfast selection was excellent and delicious, Paul's homemade compotes are a must try. The location was excellent being minutes walk away from Carbis Bay and then a beautiful scenic walk to St Ives is also something we loved.
If we ever return to Cornwall this is where we will be trying to stay. Perfect 3 days couldn't have wished for more. Nothing!
- Daniel (10/5): Couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else in St. Ives - Couldn’t fault Deb, Paul or Cleo! a beautiful house, incredible room with a gorgeous view and breakfast was amazing. Already planning our next stay, it really made our trip. Thank you!
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb -
- Ginny (9/5): We stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely time, needed more days really. - We had a lovely stay here. Paul and Deborah were wonderful hosts. Breakfasts were delicious, cleanliness 10/10. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. Would definitely stay here again. Is a great place to be as the bus stops are along the road and the train 5 minute walk down the hill. Nothing. Was all very good.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely room with sea view. Free parking and great breakfast. Paul and Deborah were friendly and very knowledgeable about the local area and places to visit and eat. We will definitely return. Nothing, everything was perfect.

House was very clean and organized. Paul and Deborah made us feel very welcomed and gave us several tips on restaurants and things to do around the area. I would recommend 1000%.
If you like boardgames, try playing The Great St Ives Pasty Dash game. It is a lot of fun and you can learn a lot of information about St Ives.
We wish we could have stayed longer. Everything was perfect.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Faultless. Generous, stylish hosts. Immaculate in every way...comfortable modern. Superb breakfast. Exc value and great stories to share. Thank you.. Loved everything
- David (10/5): Excellent stay , couldn’t of been better. - Excellent choices for breakfast, presented lovely.
Very comfortable, friendly B/B.
Hosts were amazing , went out of there way to do everything for you . can’t wait to go again .

Our room was cozy, the bedsheet very soft, the towels crispy. we travelled by public transportation and found it really easy to discover the region. Deborah and Paul are fantastic hosts, not to forget Cleo! Their breakfast is curated to the region, it was so tasty, we really had the best of times! No: it was everything we expected and more!
