- Andrew (8/5): Wonderful countryside to explore and nice place to use as your base - Character old rustic hotel
Close to cafes and bars in quiet village
Friendly staff and nice to have a bath available and large bedroom

- Sue (9/5): - VERY much off the beaten track, but very charming! The hotel is in rustic style, perfect for the beautiful landscape all around. We had an enjoyable, wholesome dinner there - and I was delighted at the choice for vegetarians.
- Rafael (10/5): -
- John Allan (10/5): Our second time stopping here. Great. - Great staff Nothing
- Jurn (9/5): Zeer goed! - Super vriendelijke ontvangst
Uitgebreid ontbijt
Lekker avondmaal
- Sara (10/5): -
- John (8/5): Pleasantly rustic - Pleasant rustic feel. I appeared to be the only guest! Roadworks made it hard to find
- Shaun (7/5): - All fine with a very good restaurant
- Ruth (9/5): - Friendly, helpful staff, great location for walking. Evening meal was good and reasonably priced Breakfast was disappointing. I would like more fresh fruit chopped up and muesli. Quite late for walkers, as scheduled for 9am.

- Simon (9/5): Rustic hotel - This is a rustic hotel in a traditional Spanish style. Bedroom was comfortable and we had a tasty dinner in the restaurant that evening. Owner was very pleasant. Shower was good with soft towels & hairdryer provided. No issues
Desayuno bufet bueno

It should be mentioned that the "garden view" can only be enjoyed if you open the window (frosted glass)
- Jerry (9/5): A great place to stay if you are hiking in the area. - We had a lovely overnight stay during our hike of the GR 249.
The lady that checked us in was very nice. The room was lovely and was spotless.
We ate in the restaurant and had a very nice meal (and a lovely bottle of Ronda wine). Nothing at all.
- Rosa (7/5): -

Personal super cercano y simpático Todo genial
- Kirsty (8/5): Very good - Great pool, very clean rooms, delicious food.
- Corinne (8/5): This was a great place to stay in El Colmenar, and it was great value. - The hotel was comfortable and clean, and the pool was a wonderful bonus on a hot day. The outdoor area was lovely. We had a delicious dinner in the restaurant, and I would recommend that highly. This is a small thing that did not affect our comfort but may be important to other people. The shower was tiny, mostly because the bidet was weirdly located inside the shower stall.
- Philippa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ken (5/5): Passable -
- Mirjam (9/5): Superb - El Colmenar is a very quiet village surrounded by wonderful nature and mountains. The food in the restaurant was exceptionally delicious!
Riom was simple but very clean. The pool was not in operation, a disappointment for our children. This info should be updated on booking.com
- Jan (7/5): Good -
- Adrian (9/5): Superb - The roads too and from are something else from a motorbike riders perspective as we were. Not for the faint hearted and the scenery is stunning. Meals at the hotel were good. Village is very quiet. No staff members spoke eny English no real problem the translation on the phone and hand signals worked well. This really is not a criticism I can't speak Spanish and it is out in the middle of nowhere.
- Meersschaert (10/5): Friendly staff and abundant food.great stay - The hostess was very friendly. The food is lovely and portions are abundant. The beds were comfortable and quit. Perfect stay.
- Jennylewis (9/5): Superb - Nothing
- Clara (8/5): Very good -
- Terri (9/5): Excellent room! - Excellent staff and location! It was so helpful to have a restaurant right on site!
- Alison (10/5): Perfect stay for exploring the area, very friendly and comfortable - We stayed for two nights. The hotel is in a great spot just a couple of minutes walk from the train station, room a good size and very clean and warm.
We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant both nights food was was excellent.
There’s a couple of bars within walking distance where we also had breakfast and a small local shop for supplies.
Many walks from the village ehich were breathtaking even in our wet weather. Nothing!
Maybe the use of a drying room would be good after walking in the poor weather.
- Carlos (10/5): Exceptional - Very charming, clean and comfortable. The restaurant is also excellent. The venison was fabulous. The proprietor was very kind and accommodating.
- Kaye (9/5): Superb - Comfortable and clean. We had a great vegetarian meal in the restauant
- Piia (10/5): - Cozy and clean country hotel. Friendly staff and the food was great. Warm recommendation.
- Taja (8/5): Very good -
- Aija (8/5): Very good -
- Leslie (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel was excellent and food superb, the garden was well kept and pool well maintained. Parking on site was a bonus.
Had a lovely quiet weekend away, shall be returning. The shower area in the room very small as the bidet was situated within that area, difficult to move and benefit from the shower.
- Philip (10/5): Excellent location. - The location to get onto the train to other places was excellent. The swimming pool and restaurant were very nice. Nothing
- David (8/5): Lovely rural hotel, super-clean in a beautiful village - highly recommended! - Great rural hotel everything was super-clean and with the hotel just 1 minute from the train station, the location is excellent.
The room was pleasant and the staff very friendly.
Meals were exceptional, extremely tasty and very well made, with great service by Anna - if you fancy eating off site, there are several bars & eateries just a couple of minutes walk away , which also do great food.
The pool was open and sparkling clean, in a very relaxing garden setting, due to it being early in the season, we had the place to ourselves.
I cannot stress enough, how relaxing and chilled this place is, I would highly recommend it and, even though it did have two very disappointing features, we would most certainly return. We sat down to eat the evening we arrived as all other restaurants were closed and after ordering, a couple entered the restaurant with a dog bed and a dog, they proceeded to sit a couple of meters away and order.
The restaurant is not the cheapest by Spanish village standards, so I was a little taken aback that the dog was allowed in.
I'm afraid that when I spend good money on good food, the only animal I expect to see in a restaurant is the one on my plate - I no more wish to share my dining experience with someone's dog, a goat, a horse, or a chicken - all of which were wandering around in the village - we felt a bit grossed out and uncomfortable, so we moved and ate out on the terrace, which was fine, but we shouldn't have had to - the dog-owners should!
I was very disappointed - you may love your dog, no one else does - not interested in any hater comments!
Breakfast was less than inspiring.
When we went down, there was just two slices of bread, one slice of what appeared to be chopped pork, three slices of very tired looking havarti-esque cheese, the rest was all pre-wrapped mini croissants & simple sponge cakes from Lidl/Mercadona, everything was extremely budget.
We did ask for traditional Andalucian breakfast of toast, garlic to rub on, olive oil and freshly blended tomato to finish it off, which was brought and made the difference, but there was no offer of anything, we had to ask if we could have it.
Shame such a beautiful rural hotel was somewhat spoiled by it's breakfast & the admittance of animals in the restaurant.
- William (8/5): Very nice, restaurant brilliant - Breakfast good,
Meals at night brilliant Nothing
- Richard (9/5): Superb -

- Richard (8/5): Return visit, love the setting, would go again. - Didnt have breakfast.
Location is superb. We had no issues at all.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (8/5): Nice, I was only staying one night but probable better to stay longer to visit the area properly. - The hotel was in a very nice location, surrounded by trees. Decor was nice and well maintained as was the room. I rang when I arrived and the owner met me a couple of minutes later. Enjoyed a beer on the terrace later and after speaking to another couple of people staying there it sounds like the food was very good too. Nothing really, plumbing a little noisy, in my room I could hear water hammer in the ceiling several times in the night.
- Robert (10/5): - We stayed during a walking tour. We received a warm welcome and our meal at the restaurant was very good
- Sharon (9/5): Superb - Great spot for the night while walking GR141. Host was kind and helpful and dinner on site was delicious.
- Ornella (10/5): Exceptional - Views and tranquility
- Diane (10/5): Relaxing and very peaceful - Lovely rustic little hotel, comfortable beds. Quiet little village , no complaints . ☺️
