Pierce (10/5): Overall a very cute place. Would definitely stay again. - It was a very cute cabin. Short walk to the shoreline of Lake Superior. The cabins are close and the neighboring cabin had vehicles parked in the grass in front of our cabin.
Tim (10/5): - My wife and I are really impressed with this place. We’ve stayed at a lot of cabins around the state and this one is by far the best one. The cabin has on floor heating which is a huge plus for us.

Excellent location to Bayfield and Madeline Island. Complimentary ice cream was delicious. Bedding and mattresses were excellent quality. Kitchen table was great for card playing and breakfast. Check-in/check-out was extremely easy. NEGATIVE. 3” floor elevations between rooms was sometimes challenging; different levels. A/C was not available. Promised DVD player was missing. Could have used a small table in bathroom for toiletries. Only one fan for the entire cottage. Only one bedroom table lamp.

Karl (6/5): - Convenient for visiting Family. Outside property well maintained. Homemade ice cream in freezer a treat. Beach area fun. Cabin 12 showed a lot of signs of wear and tear and could use sprucing up. Upon arrival the bathtub appeared very old/not clean and water failed to drain well and over the days got worse. Notified manager and she had a plumber come immediately who worked hard to clean out a very bad blockage. Last evening of 6 day stay went to use oven for baking and although gas burners worked, oven Did Not. For the price paid we strongly feel these issues should not have occurred had owners/housekeepers checked and reported problems

Marek (5/5): Small old cabin in nice location - The location is nice and House is right by small beach behind the house. The firepit was a great addition. Very old, could use some remodeling in kitchen, bathroom or new windows. Has definitely smell so if you are ok with mold you will be ok.

The location was perfect, between 2 cities that offered everything you could want from the Lake Superior / Apostle Island location. Yet was as quiet and peaceful as being alone. The host was unbelievably knowledgeable, courteous, and responsive. I texted them all hours of the day (daylight hours) and received a response within 2 minutes or less. I have never had such a great host. All in All, I would be hard pressed to find anything that was not A+! I will definitely be back! The only item was the soft mattress, But that is only because we prefer a firm mattress.

Mark (10/5): Beautiful location and everything provided :) - Our family stayed in cottage #2 in September 2024. We were visiting my wife's family. She had grown up in Washburn as a child and always wanted to stay at Mission Springs. She was not disappointed!!! We camp pretty often and are outdoors people. It was great to have free wood and a fire pit provided along with a charcoal grill. Plus you can't beat the view there on Lake Superior. :) We went to both the small beach and the larger one just a couple cabins down and they were wonderful. Katie checked in with us a few times to see if we needed anything, but honestly they had everything there. We will be back! Nothing not to like!

Beach was much smaller than anticipated and hard on old knees rather inaccessible but worth the sunrise view! The beds were fine. The owner went out of her way to keep us informed and was very kind and thoughtful. Would recommend to anyone going to the area.

Terri (9/5): Charming vintage cottage - Very clean vintage cabin. Very handy with everything you need to make meals. Nice walk to to 2 small beaches. Whatever you do,do NOT go barefoot outside walking to the beaches. There was pieces of glass and rusty pieces of metal laying around.Alot of it was laying on a log,and on the path leading to one of the beaches. Possibly being washed up on shore.I picked up alot of it and put it in the garbage.

She recommended we try to catch the mind blowing Northern Lights and had her sister deliver the most delicious “welcome ice cream”! They recommended some hikes we had not done other times in the area as well! The cottage was clean, comfortable, quiet, had everything you would need including firewood and in a great location!! The address is Ashland and it is minutes from the business district in the best possible way - it felt more like remote, lakefront and miles from everything because it was so peaceful but also near some of our favorite restaurants. I highly recommend this property and will be back!

Joseph (10/5): Cabin 5 is great! - We stayed 2 nights in Cabin 5. This is a very modern little cabin for 2. Very clean!! Wall mounted heater/ac unit kept us warm. There's a neat electric fireplace that you can choose orange, blue, or both colors flames. Full size kitchen with anything you need to cook, plus the owners leave a delicious local ice cream in the freezer (ours was chocolate mint). Overhead lights were extremely bright so we couldn't use them as they hurt our eyes. This cabin does not have a tub but the shower is nice. Nice toiletries and soft towels. We were bummed that we couldn't have a fire as there was no kindling or even newspaper to start one (and the provided wood was wet) however, the cabin was so nice so we definitely want to come back in a warmer month. We never saw the owners, you check in and out via text or phone call. Very quiet here! Cute tiny beach down some rustic steps. Nothing open in Bayfield in November so you need to go to Ashland for food and things to do.

The beds and bedding were comfortable and there was even locally made ice cream in the freezer for us! The cabin we stayed in was pretty old and dated, but clean and had everything we needed. Wish the windows had better blinds. Nothing but semi sheer curtains for privacy. That’s the one thing we wished was improved. Great stay!
Scott (10/5): We loved it. - Classic old-time Northwoods cabin. We were in #12 with two bedrooms. They are small but functional. The kitchen and bathroom were good. Loved the sound of the Chequamagon Bay waves lapping at the shore 100 feet away. Staff were friendly and competent.

There were plenty of towels, the kitchen had enough dishes, pots, and pans for us, and the property owners even supplied us with a container of locally made ice cream as a welcome gift. One of the nice features of this property is how close we were to the lake shore. All we had to do was walk about 20 yards down a path and we were at the water's edge. My wife kept commenting on how this property would make a great spot for multiple families to come together for a reunion or something similar.

The only down side was the road noise - it wasn't overly loud but we are not used to road noise so it did get noticed by us.
